I began to make the first attempts to fish in the state of Texas (we stayed in the city of Odessa)). But, since there are only oil rigs around here, and most of the land is privately owned, which is fenced off. I tried to drive up to three bodies of water, all in vain.
And, of course, what a trip without visiting the Grand Canyon. This spectacle is mesmerizing. The maximum depth reaches 1800 m. The width is up to 25 km ... You can admire such beauty and scope for a very, very long time.
Local proteins are fearless proteins. People are very fond of, apparently, because many people feed them. It seems that this wild animal can even be stroked.

A little upstream, near the town of Page, there is a huge reservoir. This is where the first time I tried to catch bass. I fished among the piers, then moved to stone spits, strongly protruding into the reservoir. The places are cool, and all my sports practice suggests that these are the most interesting points, but without bites ... By the way, I mostly looked for places on a satellite map. It's very convenient. We always practice this at the World Bass Fishing Championships. Here I decided to use this proven scheme.

And finally, I managed to catch the bass) It happened at the Mead Reservoir, near Las Vegas. And I will remember these four hours of fishing for the rest of my life. During this short time, I managed to understand that there is a bass, but it is very passive. For a light Texas and even a wacky with a load I went out, but did not take it. And everything changed as soon as I switched to unloaded tires. She often helps us out in sports, and she helped us out here too. Bass began to attack her, and boldly enough to attack. A very small hook is visible on the turntable. This is not the kind of fish I was counting on. And the bite occurred right under the piles of the bridge. Interestingly, I was able to successfully catch trout only in the most difficult places: in front of the roll, strictly under the overhanging bushes ... Where it was easy to approach the water, where it was trampled ... there were no bites. The classic scheme - the higher the pressure, the more difficult the catch is to choose.
I saw one of the sunrises on a pier in San Francisco. The rising sun, "runners", cyclists, gradually emerging bridge "Golden Gate" ... So serene and quiet. 6 in the morning. The first and only bite occurred at about 8 am. As my friends on social networks suggested to me, it turns out to be some kind of blue rasp. I tried different baits, but the bite occurred as soon as it began to periodically touch the bottom ...) It reminded me very much of fishing with rolls. Information boards are everywhere.
