The region’s special wealth is its medicinal mineral waters. In the 2000s, about 1370 m³/day is used, which is only 10% of the potential. According to Rosstat, the population of the region is more than 2.7 million people. (2014). The majority of the region's population is Russian. Traditionally, the region has large ethnic communities of Armenians, Dargins, Ukrainians and Greeks. In the foothill areas there are Karachais (0.6%) and Abazas. The capital is the city of Stavropol. The region of the Caucasian Mineral Waters is especially distinguished on the territory of the region. Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria - located mainly in the mountains of the North Caucasus, the northern part is on the plain. It borders with the Stavropol Territory in the north, North Ossetia and Georgia in the south, and Karachay-Cherkessia in the west. In the south, four ridges of the Greater Caucasus stretch parallel: Pastbishchny (Cretaceous), Skalisty, Bokovoy and Main (or Vodorazdelny). The republic has the highest point: Mount Elbrus (5642 m) the highest point in Russia, the Caucasus and Europe. On the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria there are the Elbrus National Park and the Kabardino-Balkarian High Mountain Reserve. The population is 860 thousand people. The capital of the republic is the city of Nalchik.
Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia - located in the foothills of the northwestern Caucasus. It borders in the west with the Krasnodar Territory, in the north with the Stavropol Territory, in the east with the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, in the south along the Main Caucasus Range with Georgia, as well as Abkhazia. The capital is the city of Cherkessk. Most (about 80%) of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic is located in mountainous areas. Within the republic there are 3 zones: the foothill plain, the foothills and the Caucasus mountains. There are a number of specially protected natural areas on the territory of the republic, including the Teberda Nature Reserve and part of the Caucasus Nature Reserve. On the border with Kabardino-Balkaria is Mount Elbrus, whose two peaks are the highest peaks in Europe.

Kislovodsk - located in the northern foothills of the Greater Caucasus at an altitude of 750-1200 meters above sea level. Originated from a Russian military fortress founded in 1803. The city owes its origin and name to the source of acidic mineral water Narzan.
The terrain is mountainous, indented by ravines and ravines. The city's districts are at different altitudes above sea level. The lowest point of Kislovodsk is 750 m above sea level at the exit of the city, and the highest is 1409 m on the Big Saddle in Kislovodsk Park.

The climate in the CBD is temperate continental. The average temperature in January is from −4 °C (on the plain) to −12 °C (in the mountains), in July, respectively, +23…+4 °C. Precipitation is 500-2000 mm per year.

Breakfast in the hotel. Rested after the journey, you will visit the museum-dacha of F. Chaliapin. After visiting the museum, you will become acquainted with the architectural heritage of the city. Then you will go outside the city to the Alikonovskoe Gorge to Honey Falls. And it is there that you can admire the mountains and see the “real Caucasus” in miniature. And although they are located only 30 minutes from the city, this will already be the territory of Karachay-Cherkessia. On the way, you can stop and explore the natural monument - Mount Ring. However, the main goal is to relax at Honey Falls, where the observation deck offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and 4 waterfalls of varying heights.
In addition, our guide will introduce you to another natural monument - Mount Rome and tell you the story of the Alan settlement (VI-XIV centuries) at its foot. After a walk at Honey Falls, there will be time to relax and enjoy the natural scenery, try the national cuisine (lunch included).
On the way back, you will visit the Tea House, taste herbal teas and homemade jam, of which there are a huge variety to choose from. For example, on the shelves there are jars of jam made from pine cones, mint, feijoa, sea buckthorn and other exotic sweets; you can buy herbal infusions, tinctures and honey. Tasting will help you make your choice. And if, after a delicious tea party, you don’t mind taking a horse ride, then there is a rental of these wonderful animals nearby (additional charge). Towards the evening, a trip to the thermal springs “Pearl of the Caucasus” will be organized. The complex consists of 8 swimming pools with hydromassage installations. Breakfast in the hotel. Today you will continue to get acquainted with the cities of the Caucasian Mineral Waters - Essentuki and Zheleznovodsk. The program will be dedicated to the mineral springs of the region. First you will visit Essentuki, where you will pass through the resort park, see the Narzan galleries and mud baths, made in the Greek style, and try the legendary mineral water (Essentuki-4, Essentuki-17). You will go there in off-road vehicles, but this does not mean that the path will be off-road - the road is quite good, and we also offer you convenient transport to make the trip as comfortable as possible for you.
By car you will rise to a height of about 2400 meters above sea level to the territory of the Elbrus National Park. Here, at the foot of the gray-haired two-headed giant, the stern and solemnly beautiful Elbrus, originates the most beautiful and picturesque river of the Elbrus region - Malka - the left tributary of the Terek River. To the left of the Malki River is the northern part of Elbrus, on which the peak of Mount Kyzylkay is located, and to the right is the Kyrtyk ridge and the northern part of Elbrus, where you can see the most beautiful of the Balyk peaks.
You will get to know the sights on foot, you will be able to try different types of Narzan, see seventy-meter waterfalls, a German airfield and Emmanuel's glade. It is here that you will learn about the conquest of Elbrus, which happened almost 200 years ago, when General G.A. Emmanuel organized the first expedition of climbers to Elbrus (1829). Even if you are not physically ready for walking, it is worth going and spending a day among the mountain peaks. We will give you the opportunity to have fun without walking. Breakfast in the hotel. The acquaintance with the cities of the Caucasian Mineral Waters will end with a visit to the oldest city in the region - Pyatigorsk. You will walk through the magnificent Tsvetnik Park, enjoy the view from the Aeolian Harp gazebo and see the famous underground lake Proval.
Pyatigorsk is a city that has seen many historical events and great people, such as L.N. Tolstoy, S. Yesenin, A.S. Pushkin. But the most important is undoubtedly Mikhail Lermontov, the famous Russian poet who lived and died here. During the excursion you will learn about Lermontov's life and visit places associated with his stay in Pyatigorsk. Visit to the Museum-Estate of M.Yu. Lermontov. Lunch at a cafe. During the excursion you will take a cable car up Mount Mashuk. The height will open up a magnificent view of the city, mountains and, if you're lucky, you'll see Elbrus. Return to the hotel. The Caucasian Mineral Waters resort group includes four cities: Essentuki, Zheleznovodsk, Kislovodsk and Pyatigorsk.
Zheleznovodsk- a balneological and mud resort, the most modest in size of the resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The hot springs of Zheleznovodsk have been known since ancient times, and the first serious studies of the waters were carried out at the end of the 18th century. Outstanding architects and gardeners worked on the construction and arrangement of the resort; the plans of the best European resorts were used as the basis. From the very foundation of the resort, the health resorts were headed by prominent scientists who made a significant contribution to the development of the resort business in the Caucasus.
Kislovodsk- one of the most famous balneological and climatic resorts in Russia, the birthplace of Narzan mineral waters and, perhaps, the most attractive city of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The development of resort medicine in Kislovodsk is associated with the names of outstanding domestic clinicians and balneologists; it was here that many physiotherapeutic techniques used in sanatoriums and health centers throughout Russia were developed.
Pyatigorsk- a famous balneological and mud resort, part of the Caucasian Mineral Waters resort group. Due to its wealth of natural mineral springs, Pyatigorsk is often called a “natural gallery of mineral waters,” and elegant architecture and magnificent parks attracted an aristocratic public to the resort back in the 19th century. It is believed that it was in Pyatigorsk that domestic balneology as a science was born - in 1863 the Russian Balneological Society was founded in the city, uniting the best doctors and scientists of its time.

RESORT FEE: 50 rubles per person.
The experiment territory includes the territories of the following municipalities of the Stavropol Territory:
- resort town of Essentuki;
- resort town of Zheleznovodsk;
- resort city of Kislovodsk;
- resort city of Pyatigorsk.
PAYERS OF THE RESORT FEE: individuals who have reached the age of majority, staying in accommodation facilities for more than 24 hours.
EXEMPTION FROM PAYMENT OF RESORT FEE:
1) persons awarded the titles of Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Russian Federation or who are full holders of the Order of Glory;
2) persons awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor or Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation or awarded the Order of Labor Glory of three degrees;
3) participants of the Great Patriotic War;
4) combat veterans from among the persons specified in subparagraphs 1 - 4 of paragraph 1 of Article 3 of the Federal Law of January 12, 1995 N 5-FZ “On Veterans”; 5) persons awarded the badge “Resident of besieged Leningrad”;
6) persons who worked during the Great Patriotic War at air defense facilities, local air defense, in the construction of defensive structures, naval bases, airfields and other military facilities within the rear boundaries of active fronts, operational zones of active fleets, in front-line sections of railways and highways, as well as crew members of transport fleet ships interned at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War in the ports of other states;
7) war invalids;
8) family members of deceased (deceased) war invalids, participants in the Great Patriotic War and combat veterans, family members of persons killed in the Great Patriotic War from among the personnel of self-defense groups of facility and emergency teams of local air defense, as well as family members of deceased hospital workers and hospitals of the city of Leningrad;
9) persons exposed to radiation as a result of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, as well as as a result of nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk test site, and persons equivalent to them;
10) disabled people of groups I and II;
11) persons accompanying disabled people of group I and disabled children in accordance with Federal Law of July 17, 1999 N 178-FZ “On State Social Assistance”;
12) low-income families, low-income citizens living alone and other categories of citizens provided for by Federal Law of July 17, 1999 N 178-FZ “On State Social Assistance”, who have an average per capita income below the subsistence level established at the place of their residence in the relevant subject Russian Federation; 13) persons who arrived in the experiment territory in order to receive specialized, including high-tech, medical care or medical rehabilitation after the provision of specialized, including high-tech, medical care in the conditions of sanatorium-resort organizations, as well as the person accompanying them if the patient is a child under 18 years of age;
14) patients with tuberculosis;
15) persons under the age of 24 years studying full-time in educational organizations located in the territory of the experiment;
16) persons permanently working in the experimental territory on the basis of an employment contract or service contract;
17) persons who have a place of residence in the experiment territory;
18) persons who have the right of ownership of residential buildings (shares in the ownership of them) and (or) residential premises (shares in the ownership of them) on the territory of the experiment;
19) athletes, coaches, sports judges, as well as other specialists in the field of physical education and sports who arrived to participate in official sports events in the experiment territory.
Exemption from payment of the resort fee is carried out upon presentation to the resort fee operator of the original document confirming the right to exemption from payment of the resort fee, or a duly certified copy thereof. Exemption from paying the resort fee for the persons specified in paragraph 11 may also be carried out on the basis of a written application from the accompanied person or his legal representative.
PROCEDURE FOR CALCULATION, PAYMENT AND TRANSFER OF THE RESORT FEE:
1. The amount of the resort fee payable is calculated as the product of the number of days the resort fee payer actually stays at the accommodation facility, excluding the day of arrival, and the corresponding amount of the resort fee. However, the amount of the resort fee payable is not included in the cost of your stay.
2. The resort fee will be charged no later than the time of check-out from the property.
3. Repeated collection of resort fees for the same period of stay in the experiment territory is not permitted.
4. The resort fee is subject to credit to the budget of the Stavropol Territory.
5. The transfer of the resort fee to the budget of the Stavropol Territory is carried out by the operator of the resort fee after the expiration of the period of actual residence of the payer in the accommodation facility no later than the 28th day of the month, based on the results of which the resort fee is calculated, but not earlier than the expiration of the period of actual residence of the payer in the accommodation facility.
6. If it is impossible to withhold from the payer the calculated amount of the resort fee, the resort fee operator, no later than three working days from the date of departure of the payer from the accommodation facility, is obliged to notify the executive authority of the Stavropol Territory of the impossibility of withholding the resort fee from the payer and the amount of the resort fee payable , responsible for conducting the experiment (hereinafter referred to as the authorized body), according to the form established by him.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF RESORT FEE OPERATORS:
1. Operators of resort fees, in the manner established by the law of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation, are obliged to calculate, collect and transfer resort fees to the budget of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation.
2. The resort fee operator, when collecting from the resort fee payer the amount of the resort fee due for payment, is obliged to issue the resort fee payer a document confirming the fact of payment.
3. Operators of resort fees, in the manner established by the authorized body of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation, are obliged to keep records of payers of resort fees and persons exempt from paying resort fees, in compliance with the requirements of Federal Law of July 27, 2006 N 152-FZ “On Personal Data”.
4. The resort fee operator is obliged to submit to the authorized body of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation a report of the resort fee operator, prepared on the basis of accounting data, as well as the information necessary for maintaining the register of resort fee operators.
