Koh Samet Island is a great place for a relaxing holiday! Ko Samet, Thailand. Reviews for the island Samet, photos and a map of beaches Entertainment and attractions

Ko Samet or just Koh Samet is a beautiful little island 80 km from Pattaya. A one-day excursion to Koh Samet from Pattaya is the best way to get to know the vaunted islands of Thailand without rush, without complicated logistics and without unnecessary expenses.

Is it worth going to Ko Samet at all?

If you are in Pattaya, then, of course, it is not necessary to go 80 km behind the beautiful bounty beaches: there is an azure water and white sand nearby. If you're lucky, the Chinese invasion won't happen on the day you are there. An excursion to Koh Samet from Pattaya or an independent trip there is more suitable for those who will always be short on paradise islands (although does it ever happen that such islands get bored?). And, of course, Ko Samet is simply more beautiful than Ko Lan.

What we personally like about Ko Samet is that the island is very tiny: you can walk from its eastern coast to the western one in 20 minutes! I love these small atmospheric islands.

This is how the island of Ko Samet looks like. We passed almost the widest part in 17 minutes.

How to get to Ko Samet?

If you took an excursion to Ko Samet from Pattaya, then you will be picked up from the hotel from 7 to 8 am (depending on the area of the city) and driven by minivan to Nuantip pier(Nuanthip Pier) in Rayong, it is a neighboring province. And from the pier 10 minutes by speedboat - and that's it, you are on the island! The boat arrives directly to the beach, not to the pier, and, since the boat is small, it stops almost at the shore - you only need to take a couple of steps on the water. We know that on excursions to the islands starting from Phuket, tourists are often dropped off far from the coast, when they are almost waist-deep. It's better here.

We are often asked if it is possible to get to Ko Samet by sea. Friends! There are no ferries or ships to Ko Samet from Pattaya, and if someone offers you to get to the island from Pattaya by speedboat, give this person a neck - this is not a trip on magnificent Greek ferries where you can sail for at least a month.

The path to Koh Samet from Pattaya passes overland and ends at this pier.

From the pier to the island and back, a 10-minute speedboat flight awaits you.

And here you are on the island

Beach. The boat arrives at Ao Phai beach with an umbrella and sun lounger already included. It is a beautiful green beach with white sand and easy entry into the water. There, traders of rubbish will hardly bother you, and water bananas, cheesecakes, kayaks and so on will not bother you. Rest on the island of Samet is purely for relaxation.

Well, if only compatriots on the neighboring sun loungers will not brawl - because yes, not only you will come to this beach on an excursion to Ko Samet from Pattaya 🙂 But Ao Phai Beach on Samet Island is not the only one - getting to any other beach will not be difficult.

You can stay at a distance from other tourists.

These are the lovely cafes waiting for you on the shore.

Wi-Fi. There is free wi-fi of average quality on the beach: of course, it will not be able to talk on Skype, but it is quite possible to sit in the chat.

Food. The price of an excursion to Ko Samet island from Pattaya may or may not include lunch. Let's be honest: lunch is pretty simple, so if you like to eat a lot, you can take some other sandwich or fruit with you. If you do not want to include lunch, then you can eat in a cafe, there are several of them near the beach.

In general, the cafes on Ko Samet are quite simple, the main thing here is not the interior, but the proximity of the sea.

The prices for the legendary Thai soup Tom Yam on the island are on average higher than on the mainland. But in this cafe - no!

Time spent on the island. If this is an excursion to Samet Island from Pattaya, then you will be on the beach at the beginning of the eleventh in the morning, and the departure back from the island is at 16:20. In total, you spend almost 6 hours on the island - great! First, you also take a 10-minute speedboat ride to the pier on the mainland, and then from there you sit in minivans - and home.

Say hello to the legendary beauty of the Thai islands!

Koh Samet hotels - which one to choose, whether to book in advance?

The trip to Samet Island was timed to coincide with our wedding anniversary with my husband, and I also wanted to quickly introduce my youngest daughter Dasha to the sea (I would not bathe a 2-month-old baby in the sea in Pattaya).
I always approach the choice of the place where we go very carefully, I am not too lazy to read a bunch of reviews on the booking and others in order to roughly understand where we are going, which hotel on Samet to choose and how to make the trip a pleasant journey, not a disappointment ...
It is this "intimate" knowledge that I share with you)

First, let's define.
We went to the island of Samet to take a break from the people, the hustle and bustle, relax in silence and get the maximum from communication with nature, the sea, delicious food, etc.

at Lima Coco, the food was very generous. Even small portions were just huge and delicious

The main criteria for choosing a hotel on Samet were:

1. So that the hotel is on the very seashore, so that you do not have to go more than 5 meters to the sea.
2. To have a clean beach, shallow and shallow entrance to the water
3. The minimum number of people
4. No nightlife, loud music, dancing and dancing with tambourines. Family hotel on Koh Samet.
5. Good reviews on the Internet and preferably not an exorbitant price.
We found all this at the Lima Coco resort, on the Ao Phrao beach, in the westernmost part of Samet Island.

Koh Samet beaches

When I was looking for the beach we needed and a suitable hotel on Samet, of course I reviewed all the beaches, consulted with my friends, and so on.
For myself, I concluded that we have nothing to do with the children on the nearest beach to the pier Na Dan - Sai Kaew beach, although it is by no means bad there and we had a great rest there with my husband when we came to Thailand for a vacation as two on a voucher.

Sai Kaew beach

If you are driving on your own, keep in mind that Koh Samet is a nature reserve and you have to pay to enter it. At the time of writing, it was 200 baht,
but in my opinion it is already more expensive. They take from everyone.

Beach Ao Tubtim aka Ao Pudsa (Ao Tub Tim and Ao Pudsa)

our first stop is the Tubtim hotel. There were no normal houses

We moored here on a speed boat from Ban Phe pier in Rayong. Nice beach, not so many people, stones on the sides of the beach.
Moored to find in the hotel of the same name - Tubtim resort, to have a refuge and relax properly.
But we were out of luck.
It is known that it is better not to come to Samet at the weekend. But since the date of the wedding is one constant, we had to go on Sunday, in the hope that vacationers from Bangkok and others will have dispersed by that time.
In general, if you have the opportunity to plan the dates of your trip to Samet, then do not choose the weekend. At least during high season from November to March.

We were shown a couple of houses at the price of 3500-4000 baht, and they were what is called "hug and cry", moreover, on the second line.
And the hotel, I remind you, is packed to capacity with young people, the noise, in short, we quickly screwed up from there.
Basically, Ao Tubtim beach is suitable for recreation, if you take care of finding and renting accommodation in advance.
In the Tubtim Hotel there are passable houses right on the shore, but they were all occupied and how many times I “monitored”, Samet, I could not find them free.

When it comes to an independent trip to Samet with an overnight stay, you need to book a hotel in advance, especially during the season, since those who want the darkness and the best inexpensive bungalow hotels by the sea are sorted out first of all.

How to get to Koh Samet island from Pattaya

We drove our car to Ban Phe port in Rayong. If you are on a moped or by car, the route to Rayong and further along the signs for 80-85 kilometers is nothing difficult.

For those who do not have transport or who do not want to steer, there is a very simple way, in any booth selling excursions, there is a transfer to Samet.
It costs about 1,000 baht round trip. For this price, you will be picked up from Pattaya, taken by speedboat to the beach and brought back at the agreed time.
Ao Phrao beach
When, in the very heat (12 o'clock in the afternoon), we realized that nothing could shine for us in Tubtim, I offered to go in the direction of Ao Prao.
According to reviews on the Internet, this is the farthest and most closed beach on the island of Samet.
He (beach), the cleanest, deserted and best on the island.
Because the Ao Phrao beach is located in a bay in the west of the island and there are only 3 hotels that belong to the same owner.
The beach is cut off from the main island by rocky shores and poor road, as well as by the fact that only guests of these hotels can be on the beach.
Of course, no one will kick you out, but it is impossible to get there by chance.

The best hotel on Koh Samet - our reviews

When we drove for 200 baht on a green tuk-tuk (songteo) to the bay of Ao Prao, it became clear that we were on the right track and would stay here.
A truly heavenly place, with the cleanest beach, the minimum number of people, it was only necessary to choose a hotel from three.

Goes first -Le Vimarn. Cottages and villas in it start at 14,000 baht, extra bed 1,500.
Nuuu, for us it is somehow expensive. At the same time, the number shown was very different from that in the picture on the booking. It was not cleaned, but instead of this jacuzzi on the veranda, there was some kind of cup with a dirty muddy slurry, very vaguely similar to the one in the picture.

The next hotel on the Ao Prao beach was the Lima Coco hotel, where we stayed, which we never regretted and recommend to friends.

I will tell you about it in more detail, and now the third hotel in a row is Ao Prao resort, named after the bay.
There were free houses (one-room), for 10,000 baht, and they were not worth the money at all.

We arrived just in time for check-out and miraculously rented a house right by the sea. We did it via the Internet, so it turned out to be cheaper than at the hotel reception.
Go to Hotelluk website , choose the hotel you want and book the cheapest option. In my opinion, this is the most convenient booking system as it searches for all agencies at once.
We liked the option with a house right on the beach. This is the S1 number, if anything.
We took two rooms for 10,000 baht, we got a discount, as the one that was closer to the sea was more expensive.
Yes, 10,000 is expensive, in general the numbers there start from 3,500 baht, so if the price is unacceptable for you, go with a guided tour, they are taken to white sands beach,
where is also very cool.

There are 44 rooms in Lima Coco in total, they are arranged in the form of a pyramid, that is, it goes up the stairs.

What did I like about Samet in Lima Coco?

The beach is clean. Dasha swam in the sea for the first time and I was not afraid for her, as it is shallow, the water is clear.
Kayaks are free.

P.S. A couple of years later, they also built a swimming pool near the beach, so it's great. There is a playground on the nearby beach.

Contrary to the reviews - the staff was very “rustling”, all orders were brought in very quickly and the food was very, very tasty!
At the hotel restaurant, I recommend ordering glass noodles with prawns in ginger sauce.

Cocktails are also on the level, despite the fact that in Thailand, in my opinion, it is rather rotten with delicious and high-quality cocktails.
Prices for cocktails and food are more expensive than in Pattaya, but this is because even on Koh Samet, even on Koh Chang, it is always the same on the islands.
Due to the fact that drinking water, food and everything else have to be imported, prices are much higher than in Pattaya, for example.

One thing I can’t understand, why on Samet and Koh Chang, such inadequate prices for hotel rooms?
If the hotel is right on the seashore, with a good beach, clean and everything as needed, then it will cost no less than 3500-4000.
If it is cheaper, then at the expense of some characteristics: cleanliness, novelty of the room, etc.

Samet - photo of the beach and the Lima Coco hotel

We arrived for 2 days and one night.
The room we stayed in at Lima Coco was ordinary. Its main advantage is that there is no one in front of you, you can sit on the veranda and look directly at the sea.
The beach is right under your nose.

The room had a wonderful bathroom, shower, all the necessary accessories, a double bed and even a TV set (why he is and who is watching him is not clear to me).

What did not like - there is nowhere to put things, there are not enough shelves, hooks, and also the fact that it is inside as well as outside, just whitewashed.
Alya is natural, like a summer house somewhere in the Crimea.

Breakfasts were included in the room rate and were completely ordinary.
You will not stay hungry, but there is nothing special to sing about - coffee, tea, sausages, fruits, buns.

Again, I would like to praise the hotel restaurant, to which not only the guests of Lima Coco, but also the neighboring Ao Prao and
Le Vimarna.

In their hotels, prices are generally prohibitive, and the food (according to reviews) is worse.

Summary and conclusions from visiting Koh Samet

We liked Lima Coco. We would return, and maybe we will return there again. True, I do not like to go to the same hotels, I want something new,
but in the case of Samet, I'm afraid that Lima Coco is the most suitable option for us.

The swimming pool at the Lima Kokko hotel is right in the place where the Thais sit and stand, where the white fence is. At the time of filming, it had not yet been built there.

If you are looking for relaxation, quiet, quiet rest, without parties and nightlife from a rest on Samet, then Ao Prao beach on Samet is the most suitable option.

For young people, I would advise something closer, since in Ao Prao not only are the prices high, but you will also have to spend money on moped trips to the center of the island,
motorbike taxis charge 200-300 baht per trip.

After writing the article, I repeatedly went to Samet Island with an excursion, as I found a good travel agency, which have pleasant prices and
the excursions are interesting. Through them you can go to Samet for 1000 baht in one day and from 1650 with a hotel, which turns out to be much more profitable and cheaper,
than to book yourself. And they deliver to the beach by speedboat.
I have already recommended them to my readers a hundred times, so if you are going to Samet or other excursions, write in the comments, I will send you contacts by mail.

During the two days that we were, we did not meet the Russians. Mostly couples go to Lima Coco,
with small children as well. But even the presence of small children does not turn the hotel into a booth.

I forgot to say that in addition to kayaks and delicious food, there is suitable snorkeling, as well as massage.
Massage takes place on the street, overlooking the sea, full of buzz!

If you decide to go to the Ao Prao bay on Samet, and you do not have personal transport (though I can't imagine what kind of transport there might be, you can't even get there by scooter),
it will not be superfluous to take mosquito napkins, some light snacks, maybe something else, that you might want to buy in a store. There are no shops nearby.
And yes. The sunsets here are simply stunning beauty, amazing beauty.

How to save money on a hotel or vacation apartment?

I'm looking for Rumguru on the website. It contains absolutely all discounts for hotels and apartments from 30 booking systems, including booking. I often find very profitable options, it turns out to save from 30 to 80%

How to save on insurance?

Overseas insurance is needed. Any admission is very expensive and the only way not to pay out of pocket is to choose an insurance policy in advance. For many years we have been making out on the site, which give the best prices for insurance and the selection together with registration takes only a couple of minutes.

Enjoy your stay! there will be questions - ask.

Samet Island (Ko Samet) is a resort island in the Gulf of Thailand in the eastern part, not far from the mainland, belongs to the province of Rayong, Thailand. Small behind the area - 13.1 km. sq. Its distance from the mainland is about 6.5 km, from Bangkok - 200 km, 80 km from Pattaya. The length is 7 km, the width is from 4 km to 200 meters.

This is a magical place, since most of the island is occupied by the National Park of Thailand, so the water is very clean, and the nature is almost untouched. The entrance to the island is free, no one will take money from you for disembarking at the pier. It is only paid to visit the Mu Ko Samet National Park, which is located on 4 islands, including Koh Samet. The cost is 200 baht for adults and 100 baht for children.

Samet island on the map

When planning your vacation, look at where the island is located on the map, so it will be easier for you to navigate how to get to it.

How to get there

There are several options. Since Samet is cut off from the mainland and there is no airport on it, you can only get to it by water. You can sail from the village of Ban Phe - the mainland of Thailand, it will take you about 30 minutes. Ferries run regularly between the mainland and the island, costing about 50 baht, but you can also order a boat for an approximate cost of 2,000 baht.

From the capital of Thailand

Buses leave from Bangkok to Ban Phe. The cost is about 160 baht, if you buy in both directions, it will be cheaper, around 280 baht. They run from morning to evening, with an interval of 40-60 minutes. Travel time is 3.5 hours.

The second option is to get from Bangkok to the district center, and from there to Ban Phe. The bus to Rayong costs 120 baht, the time is about 3 hours, from Rayong to Ban Phe you can get by songkhteo, in time it will take about 30 minutes. Please note that the latter leaves at 8 pm from Ban Phe.

It is always worth checking the time of the last bus, since no mode of transport works around the clock. By car, you can take Highway 3 or Sukhumvit Rd.

By taxi: approximate cost 2,000 baht, from the airport about 250 baht cheaper.

From Pattaya

From Pattaya to Rayong (district center) can be reached by bus in about 50 minutes, it will cost 70 baht. A taxi will cost you 850 baht, and in time it will take about 1.5-2 hours. Always check the cost as it varies.

Rent a bike and get a full tank and take the Sukhumvit highway to your destination, Ban Phe. You can buy the complete package from any street travel agent, which includes a shuttle to Ban Phe and a ferry ticket. It will be more expensive than buying tickets on your own, but more comfortable, because you will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the very pier on the island of Ko Samet. You can also agree with them about the way back.

Transport

There are practically no roads on the island itself. Only the section from the pier to the National Park is asphalted. You can get around on foot, the distances are small, the whole island can be walked around in about 2 hours.

Options for movement can be quad bikes (rent 500-1500 baht per day) or local transport - songteo (sent when fully loaded) from 10 baht, which you can use as a taxi, having bought all the seats for 100-600 baht.

There is no good road on the island, which can be dangerous for your life. Songthaew fares are fixed and are shown on posters on many beaches.

You can rent a motorcycle, but if you have never ridden it, it is not recommended to start in Samet.

Beaches and hotels

There are about 16 beaches on the island. The most famous of them are Hatsaykau, Diamond Beach, Auvongdian. All of them are located on the east coast, the length of the largest, Hatsaykeu, is about a kilometer, and the width is 25-30 meters. Auwong Dian Beach is located in a bay that is almost a circle in shape. The smaller beaches are generally quieter and there are always fewer tourists. Ao Kew Nok is an isolated beach of the posh and most expensive hotel on the island of Paradee Resort and Spa.

Auphrao is a beach on the west coast, far from the bustling life of Samet. Also not far from it there is a pier from which you can go on a boat trip.

There are a huge number of hotels on the island, which differ in cost and comfort of living. These can be bungalows, detached houses, guesthouses. The cost is about 1000 baht per day, but you can find cheaper options, from 500 baht. The most important thing is price-quality ratio.

On any site you can see photos of rooms and territory, which will help you in choosing. If you are planning to travel during the high season, we recommend that you book your accommodation in advance.

Entertainment and attractions

The main attraction is the National Park, hiking trails, temples. For history buffs, it is worth visiting the Aukhin Kok Bay, where the only monument on the island is located.

An incredibly interesting place is the Turtle Farm, where rare species of fish and turtles are bred. It is located in the sea, not far from the pier. It is noteworthy that these fish are then released into the open sea. Water activities:

  1. Windsurfing and water skiing.
  2. Boat trips are organized every day.
  3. Snorkeling and diving.
  4. Fishing trips can also be arranged for you.

Massage services are often offered on the beaches. You can take advantage of this opportunity and feel. Shopping consists only of beach accessories, but you can easily find a cafe or restaurant where you will have the opportunity to taste fresh seafood.

Koh Samet Island is a great opportunity to plunge headlong into relaxation, forget about problems and enjoy every minute. This is a way to relax body and soul, as well as to be alone with nature.

Samet (Ko Samet) is a small (its area is only 13 square kilometers) island located in the Gulf of Thailand, less than 10 kilometers from the continent. Most of the island is part of the Khao Laem Ya - Mu Ko Samet National Park. The unspoiled nature and beautiful sandy beaches attract a large number of lovers of relaxing holidays, as well as Bangkok residents who often come to the island for weekends.

The rainy season on Koh Samet lasts, as a rule, from May to July, but even at this time there is less rainfall than on other islands in Thailand. Throughout the year, the temperature of water and air does not drop below +25 ° C. In high season and holidays, it is recommended to book hotels in Koh Samet in advance.

Beaches

Almost all beaches are located on the east coast. The longest (about 1 kilometer) and one of the most popular is the beach Hatsaykeu or Diamond beach(Hat Sai Kaew, Diamond Beach). The width of the sandy strip is 25-30 meters. Here you can go water skiing or windsurfing. In the vicinity of the beach there are numerous hotels of various categories, bars and restaurants.

The beach to the south is no less popular. Auwongdian(Ao Wong Deuan). This is the second longest beach after Hatsaykau. The beach is located in a picturesque bay and is almost a full circle in shape. There are also a variety of options for accommodation, beach holidays and evening entertainment.

Other beaches on the east coast, and there are about a dozen of them, are less extended, but mostly quieter (especially in the south of the island) and less crowded.

The only beach in the west of the island - Auphrao(Ao Phrao), where exclusive luxury hotels are located. This is one of the most peaceful places on the island, far from the nightlife and noisy entertainment. In addition, there is a pier on Auphrao, from which boat trips and excursions go.

Entertainment

The main tourist activities on the island are beach vacations and water activities. Many beaches are suitable for windsurfing and water skiing. Sea excursions to the nearest small islands, snorkeling and diving sites, night fishing are organized daily. Diving centers can be found at Auwong Dian Beach. In the national park on the island of Samet, there are three tourist routes (paid visits), and there are also several interesting temples.

Massage therapists offer their services on popular beaches, there are massage parlors on the main resort streets. Shopping on the island is mainly limited to the sale of typical beach accessories. Bars are easy to find in the main resort areas, and restaurants offer a wide variety of fresh seafood.

Transport

There is no airport on Koh Samet. It can be reached by boats departing from the port in Phe (Ban Phe, Ban Phe) near the city of Rayong, travel time is about 30 minutes. There are regular flights to Rayong Airport by Bangkok Airways from Bangkok. You can also get to Rayong from the capital of Thailand by bus or taxi, the trip will take approximately 3 hours. Phe is located 20 kilometers from Rayong. There is also a regular bus service directly between Bangkok and Phe; Buses from Bangkok leave from Ekamai Bus Station several times a day.

Ko Samet Island (Koh Samed) is located in Thailand on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand, 200 km from Bangkok, 80 km from Pattaya and 6 km from the mainland (Rayong province). The total area is 13 sq. km. The length is 7 km, the width is from 4 km to 200 meters (in different areas in different ways).

Ko Samet is a great place for those who want to combine lying on the sand, among almost untouched nature, with exploring the main attractions of the capital of Thailand - Bangkok, which is just 2.5 hours from the island.

There are about a dozen beaches, and they are all similar - sandy, rather small, there are several hotels and restaurants on the coast, and nothing else. The only exceptions are the beaches closest to the pier - and, where there are many bars, restaurants and generally quite busy.

Samet Island is located on the territory of the National Park, so the sea water is very clean. In addition to uncrowded beaches, there are practically no attractions, except perhaps a temple not far from the pier, several viewing platforms, and a couple of sculptures.

It should be borne in mind that there are no banks on the island, but there are several ATM machines near the pier and at the entrance to the National Park. Currency exchange is also possible, although there are few places.

Just like everywhere else, resting on the island has advantages and disadvantages.

Samet island on the map of Thailand

Island national park

You can often read on the Internet that the entrance to the island of Samet is paid. This is not entirely true. When you dock by ferry from the mainland, no one will take money from you. You can safely visit several beaches to the right of the Na Dan pier for free, as well as walk 5 minutes to the left and find yourself on the Luk Yon beach. From there you can get to Sai Kaew. All of these beaches are free.

Basically, mooring at Na Dan pier and walking around the surroundings, you can rent a house by the sea and live in it for the whole vacation. In fact, this is a very good option, because all infrastructure is concentrated between the pier and Sai Kaew: bars, restaurants, hotels. The cheapest guest houses can also be rented in this area (these are 1-2-storey buildings 500-1000 meters from the sea). It is quite possible to find decent housing for 600 baht per day. The only temple on the island of Samet is also located here.

The fee (200 baht) for visiting Koh Samet will be charged only at the entrance to the National Park. It is located at the very end of the road leading from the pier to Sai Kaew. But there is one subtlety - money is taken mainly from tourists who come to the entrance to the songteo.

If you come on foot, no one will ask you to pay - they will just think that you have been here for a long time. By the way, next to the entrance there is a path along which you can also get to the park on foot or by motorbike (about 50 meters to the left of the entrance). And one more observation - often they do not take money from tourists on a motorbike, thinking that they have been here a long time ago and paid earlier.

Who should go

A trip to the island of Samet will really appeal to lovers of leisurely rest, who prefer to sunbathe and swim in the morning and afternoon, and in the evening to dine in a restaurant on the seashore or sip beer in a bar and watch the water surface. But if you are a fan of vibrant nightlife, clubs and bar girls, then this place is not for you, since all this is simply not on Ko Samet.

Of course, you can take the girl with you from Pattaya, but you can't take the whole party from there. However, such people can visit the island for 2-3 days to relax a little, swim in the clear sea and recharge the batteries for new exploits at discos and clubs in Pattaya and Bangkok.

The lack of entertainment on the island can be explained very simply - it is part of the Khao Laem Ya - Mu Ko Samet National Park, and therefore the main priority here is ecology, preservation of natural wealth, flora and fauna. Some places look really wild. There are bungalows and villas on the coast, usually on each beach there are several restaurants and bars, which are also located 50-100 m from the sea. And behind them the forest begins.

Our advice to you: for complete privacy, head to Samet Island on Monday. All week long you will enjoy solitude on uncrowded beaches. This will only end on Friday, when the Thais from Bangkok arrive. Weekends are not the best time to visit Samet. However, on the beaches remote from the pier there are few people even on Saturday and Sunday.

You can buy air tickets to Thailand as profitably as possible with the help of special search engines that collect data from all airlines.

From Bangkok you can take a bus from the Eastern Bus Station (Ekkamai Bus Station) and Khao San Road. If you are arriving at Thailand's international airport - Suvarnabhumi, then use the Airport Express Bus AE3, which goes to the Ekamai bus station, or a metered taxi. In general, you can take a taxi from the airport to the pier in Ban Pe, the fare will be about 2500-3000 baht. In addition to Bangkok, you can get to Samet from different places in Thailand, including Pattaya and Phuket. The best solution would be to buy a ticket to the pier at any travel agency or.

Ferries from Ban Pe Pier on the mainland leave for Samet every hour from 8:00 to 17:00. They moor on Samet either on Nadan or on Wong Duan beach.

Transport

Koh Samet is the only road that branches off to the beaches. Since 2015, asphalt has been laid across the entire island - from the northernmost beach to the southernmost point.

You can get around the island by motorbikes and songteo (tuk-tuk).

In the past, ATV rental was popular, but after laying the asphalt, this transport is now almost never seen.

The cost for songteo is fixed and is indicated on the posters on many beaches. The price ranges from 10 to 70 baht and depends on the distance.

Songteo can be rented as a taxi, that is, you will go immediately and completely alone and will not feel the shoulder of your neighbor on the right and left (route songteos do not leave until you have a full cabin of passengers). In this case, the price will vary from 100 to 700 baht.

There is some nightlife around Sai Kaew and other beaches closest to the pier. On everyone else, life stops at sunset, and the southern beaches are so generally almost "wild", where there are no shops or ATMs.
