The hotel is old, the reception has a hint of ancient pomp, water is constantly making noise in an impromptu fountain. Upon arrival, the receptionists were handed passports with $ 20 and asked for a room on the second floor (I'm terribly afraid of all kinds of animals), preferably with a hint of a sea view. The room was given a good one, next to the sports field, with a side view of the sea. It took only 5 minutes to walk to the left side of the beach, and the same to the reception and the main restaurant. The young man was cleaning the room very responsibly. On the days when we left a tip, I rolled animal figures out of towels and blankets. The furnishings and furniture in the room are old, the room itself is not very large. It was a bit cramped for us, considering that an extra bed was placed for my son.
Now about the main thing - the beach. The beach is conventionally divided into 2 parts. We preferred the left side, which is closer to our room. Descent to the left by the stairs, descend to the right by a steep path (suitable for families with children in strollers). A path under a rock connects both sides of the beach, a very romantic place, if not for the smell of stagnant water. The entrance to the sea is by pontoons, on the left there is shallow water for children. The coral reef is interesting, but to see something big, you need to come to the sea early.

In Mexican it was very tasty, but in Italian it was not. The food is the same every day, but if someone complains, then don't believe it. We couldn't taste all the dishes in 10 days. The sea during this period was 23 degrees, I specially took a thermometer to measure the water temperature, for us it is very warm, we swam all day. There are few sun beds, not enough during rush hour. Beach towel too. If I didn't pick it up at 8 in the morning, it’s all gone.
Three pontoons of different lengths and a sandy entrance for kids to wander around. We took coral - but never used it. We did not go in shallow water, we swam from pontoons - so there is no need for slippers. The sun sets early - at 16.00. Therefore, you need to come to the beach at 7 am to catch the heat longer.
From animation - in the daytime everyone will find something for themselves if they wish - dancing by the pool, and yoga, and water polo, and darts, and tennis and table tennis, and in the evening live music and a show program. There is a mini club for children. In the evening disco at the hotel, as well as organized trips to nightclubs.
There are a lot of mosquitoes in November - a spray and a fumigator are required.
To the left of the hotel - shops, pharmacies, supermarket. A little further - IL Mercato shopping quarter - go through it and stroll to Old market - there is a beautiful mosque and many shops.

As a person who has the experience of visiting 11 Egyptian hotels already (I will not write names, I have my reviews about some of them here, but geography: Marsa Alam, Maccadi Bay, Safaga, Hurghada, Sharm Nabq, etc.), and, I suppose, experience allows me to compare with reliance on familiarity with Egyptian standards, and so: I responsibly want to declare that I do not fully share the negative reviews that Tophotels and Tripadvisor are opposed to.
For reasons beyond my control, this year I had to go to rest in mid-December. Accordingly, we were looking for conditions where the rock will cover the sea from the wind, and where there will be a bay. And since in 2017 we rested in this part of the coast in Sharm at The Grand Hotel Sharm El Sheikh, the choice fell on the neighboring one, through the fence, DREAMS BEACH RESORT SHARM EL SHEIKH 5 *. After reading the reviews, I was ready to get into some, sorry, gadyushnik, where there is no service, no normal rooms, no greenery, well, there is nothing good at all, well, except perhaps the reef, which, moreover, is dying. But there was no choice, plus, I was traveling with a family of 5 people (and two more families of friends), and these are two rooms only for a family, therefore, the budget also did not give the opportunity to go wild.

Friends! Normal hotel. General concept: there is everything you need, but without any frills. If it were 4, I would boldly put 5 points everywhere. For 5, I will put solid 4 on almost all points. Of course, I admit that the hotel is at the stage of renovation, I don’t know, maybe we got there when we fixed the errors listed in many previous reviews. But all those who traveled with me completely agree with my assessment. And of them, only the third first time were in Egypt, and whoever had read all sorts of reviews there, did not want to go through, solely because of the company, terribly wound up, prejudiced, in anticipation of all sorts of horrors. The trip almost didn't even fail ... Fortunately, everything worked out.
We arrived at the hotel at about 8 am (although the hotel is not far from the airport, but this time we drove in circles for a very long time, about 1.5 hours, apparently the employees of the annex know that they do not immediately settle in this hotel, and so they build a route to shorten waiting for check-in at the hotel). Allegedly, there were no rooms available, and bracelets were not given out before settling. And drinking water in the lobby bar, and in all other bars, is paid. This is kind of a minus, but it is compensated by the fact that the rooms are supplied with water in one and a half-liter bottles every day. Even if you don't want your room to be cleaned, they still leave it under the door. Therefore, there is no shortage of water during rest, but immediately upon arrival it is advisable to have your own supplies in your luggage.
So. This means that they did not give the bracelets and numbers, they said they would definitely give it by 14.00, and before that, periodically come and take an interest. Well, we left our things, changed, and immediately to the sea. I still didn't want to have breakfast after the flight. We walked around the entire territory at once. The hotel is medium in size. We saw both more and less. Landscaping is similar, medium level. This is a desert, here thickets and prairies should not be expected. Yes, the same Charmillion is much greener. But, for example, Cleopatra Lakshari Resort (which is included in the top 100 hotels in Egypt, and where tours are three times more expensive), apart from palm trees in comparison with Dream Beach, one can say nothing at all. And then everything that was seen two years ago in the more expensive Grand Hotel was discovered. As for this zone, it is quite acceptable! After reading the reviews, I expected to see the Gobi Desert.
The territory is well-groomed. Banana skins, cigarette butts, leftover food, nothing is lying around. Although I noticed, there are not very many staff, if not to say little. Yes, the hotel is simple, the paths are not in marble, ordinary tiles. I say: everything is simple, no frills, but functional. On the way we go down to the sea. It turns out as if in tiers to the water. It is not difficult to go down and up, the angle of descent / elevation allows even elderly people to walk calmly.
On the way, we pass the main pool. Large, clean, 1.40 deep. Without heating. I have never floated there, only touched the water. It's cold, 20 degrees. Near it there is a small pool, about 10 meters in diameter, it seems 3 or 4 meters deep, I don't remember exactly. In the summer, it’s probably good there. In the same pool (mainly in the sense) there is the main slide of this hotel (I do not attribute the slides in the neighboring dreams vacation from the same chain to this hotel). I didn't swim, but quite a few people did. There is also a booth with towels. Half new, half old, but not worn down to the extent of a sheet. The sun loungers around this pool, yes, wooden, not new. And the mattresses are normal, not torn, not squeezed, not dirty. Simple, no fintipers. By the way, in Albatross Aquapark in Hurghada, where tours for several hundred bucks on the same day were more expensive, sun loungers on the beach compared to this in general rubbish.
There is a snack bar near the same pool. From 4 pm to 5 pm there are hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches, etc. Sometimes they give rolls, which you yourself fill with cheese, sausage, tomatoes, cucumbers, and the like.
We pass the pool, go directly to the shore. It is, as it were, divided into three zones. The far right enclave (when looking at the sea) is a landlocked zone. There is a heated pool, 20 meters in diameter, 1.40 meters deep, near it there is a children's puddle for an adult, knee-deep, there is a children's slide. Near the pool Grill-house. It's like a dining restaurant right on the seashore, so that you don't go to the dining room in the main building. It seems to work from 12 to 15. In this area there is a descent by elevator from the upper level, on which, as it were, the hotel itself is located. From the elevator along the road along the coast, you can go to the farthest beach. Apparently, the elevator was installed only in order to meet the standard of the Egyptian 5 stars. There is no particular need for it. In parallel, you can go down the steps with such a zig-zag down here. An impromptu shuttle drives to the elevator from the lobby: a truck with benches installed in length, passengers sit sideways in the direction of travel. This is for the very lazy.
At this point I will complain about the hotel. As long as this pool was heated, everything was fine. But somewhere on the 6th day of rest, something broke there, or they turned it off to save money, I don’t know, but after that the water in it dropped to indecently cold, it became difficult to enter without internal drying. The children stopped swimming altogether. We complained, they responded by showing a show for repairs, someone in special uniforms came, opened hatches, etc., went down to the pumping room, but did not repair it until the end of the rest. I recommend that those who are going there to ask not only if there are heated pools there, but also if they are OPERATING during this period. Well, we began to swim in the sea even more often. It was warmer.
There are umbrellas and sun loungers around the pool. New, plastic. We lived there, left things there, and made sorties to the sea several times a day. Mostly quiet, even children are not particularly disturbing. Music is not playing. It is loud only when aqua aerobics is held in this pool, but as I understand it, this is only in winter. Please note that the sun hides early in the elevator shaft at a height. About 15.30
This area has its own bar. Beverages? Well, what drinks: yes, the same as elsewhere, as in the bulk of Egyptian hotels. Yes, a shmurdyak who does not particularly insert. But we drank exactly the same drinks in the hotel, which has a rating under 4.7 on Tophotels, and even higher on Tripadvisor, where the main contingent was Germans. So this is not a criterion. Do not go to bed, but of course it is better to bring something else with you, for a change. Yes, the beer was not bad, albeit on draft. There was no bottle. No juices. Only instant coffee, but always hot. As well as hot tea. They stand in teapots, pour yourself. At every bar.
Pour WELL VERY LARGE glasses at once, and without vandollar. They don't save. Apparently, that would not be distracted by repeated visits.
Move from right to left. There is a large unpaved area without access to the sea, where there are simply sun beds, where it is good to sunbathe. Stretching and gymnastics are also held there, or whatever it is called, I did not delve into it.
Further there is a rock in the sea, which separates the first zone from the second along the coast. The second is smaller, there is the first small pier, from which we dived immediately upon arrival. To say that I was stunned is to say nothing. On December 9, I expected at least 22 degrees, but I could not expect real 26, or even more! Then I immediately realized that the choice of the bay behind the rock was absolutely the right and justified decision! Later, the temperature dropped by about 2 degrees by the end of the holiday, but the sea was warm all the time. The rock reliably covered the entire coast from the wind. In the middle of the rest, it was a bit stormy for two days, we did not swim. And in comparison with the Storms in Marsa Alam, it could not even be called a storm. On the coast, even from the sea, there was no particular wind. But they were not allowed into the sea. Then it calmed down, and everything became ok.
There is also a bar here, larger than the one I described above. wonderful crepes are prepared in it! Pancakes with jam, icing sugar, jam, honey, etc. I am not a fan of sweets, but even I have tried them regularly. The children were constantly running. Give is not limited.
In this area, a sunbed next to a sunbed. Closely, there are a lot of people. Well, those who want to be closer to the sea. This is, as it were, the main beach. There is music, animation, darts, and something else.
So, a few words about animation. I liked them: we didn’t touch them, they didn’t touch us :) No, they certainly came up, offered to participate, but didn’t impose. When we ourselves wanted something, then we ourselves joined them. Thanks to them. Such a short, plump, curly-haired Egyptian was especially active. He played aqua aerobics very cheerfully, had a bunch of grandmothers. And active on the show. Our girls animators were also on the level. I didn't ask for names. We worked normally all day. Don't be lazy. The guy is Kazakh too.
We go further along the coast. Again the rock that separates the previous beach from the next bay, which is just the main one, big, where a long reef runs across. Immediately behind this rock is the entrance to the sea from the shore into a very small, separate pit-bay, separated by buoys. This is for children and for those who cannot swim. You can go up to the chest. Diameter 20-30 meters. Corals are desirable there, although I have not seen any sharp stones there. We pass on the parapet further, and we have a normal pier, from which you can either just dive into the water, or go down the stairs. It leads to the normal reef zone, which, for Sharma, is quite. There, by the way, the depth of about 10 meters. Everything is clearly visible downward. A little further from the reef, the bottom is not visible at all.
In general, after Mars, of course, it can be argued that there is no reef in Sharm. But this is maximalism, of course. My friend, who previously traveled only to the Black, Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas, when he first saw this reef, said: "Compared to this sea, all the other seas I have been to are not seas!" Yes, there are only 20 or 30 species of fish, the basic Egyptian set, not 100 as in Mars. There are no moray eels, turtles and manatees, no mantas and octopuses, or crocodile fish, and much more that can be seen further south in the Red Sea. But whoever has not seen all this, or had previously rested somewhere in Hurghada (or near it) - you can safely go here. The reef is very beautiful for Sharma. For those who have seen more, it may not represent much of itself. But is everything learned by comparison? As for Mars - not very much. But in comparison with Hurghada - the very thing. There is something to see.
From this pier, we swam to the right and to the left along its entire length. As for me, the reef to the right is more interesting. To the left (again, this is all oriented if I look at the sea, I describe) at first it is normal, and then the reef is already overgrown with algae, there, probably, it "dies". The farthest and longest pier, which is submerged, and therefore slippery, leads to that "dying" zone of the reef, and leads from the farthest left beach, where the serpentine staircase leads. But we did not go there, therefore, I will not say anything about that beach.
With the sea and the coast sorted out. Move on. We returned from the sea at about 10.30, we were immediately called to the reception. They said there are rooms, but they say that you have to pay a little extra for a good building. To hell with him. Above, someone wrote that they agreed for $ 10 so that they would be relocated from the room they did not like, and immediately he also slashed: 10 bucks, and not a cent more, but that everything would be at the level! And everything is ok. Immediately bracelets, cards, shuttle, etc. We found ourselves in the newly renovated building, No. 31. Great room. From the balcony you can see the sea. Everything you need, everything is there. Everything is clean, everything is whole. Safe, refrigerator, TV, everything. Nice bed with a normal high mattress. The back did not hurt. Absolutely normal room! The 31st buildings, which looked exactly the same, were renovated. At the same time, the repairs of buildings 28 and 29 were underway. So, in the future it will be possible to go there too.
Towels were changed, blankets were tucked in, swans were twisted for vandollar. Standard. We didn't play monkeys and anything else exotic, everything is simple, no frills :) But we don't need it. In general, we always clean up every other day.
People are dispersed throughout the territory (excluding that beach directly on the shore near the pier), fortunately, the territory allows. Nobody sits on each other's heads, the music does not really finish off the numbers.
Staff. Well, really, I expected a lot worse. Reviews were clocked. But it turned out - yes, people work normally! I thought, as sometimes happens, to raise the level of service with Vandollars, but as it turned out, there was no particular need for this, although I did give away everything that I had planned to give there. But just as gratitude, and not to buy a service. At all bars, in the restaurant, in the grill-house, they served normally with a smile, joked with the children, worked quickly. I did not notice any arrogance. I would especially like to mention the lifeguard Ahmed-Sheriff near the heated pool. Do not have time to go out to the pool in the morning, he will immediately come up and ask how many sun loungers are needed, and where it is better to arrange them. He will transfer everything himself, give information on the hotel, on everything, anything in Egypt, look after things, etc. and the like. Excellent conversationalist, not intrusive. Hi to him!
I was also impressed by the general manager (well, as far as I understood) of that snack restaurant near the main pool, where we always moved for coffee and snacks after sunset behind the elevator shaft near the heated pool, which I wrote about earlier (plus our women went to zumba). This is about 16. Somehow from the first day he singled us out, and always served our company personally. Polite, courteous, and, I would say, respectable that I had to improve my English :) Well, very pleasant service. Of course, we did not remain in debt. But not only financially, but a separate "shukran" as "see you tomorrow" from our side.
Nutrition. Everything is simple: nothing special. Everything is what you need, but no more: chikken, beef, kofta, (chicken, meat, kebab cutlets, who did not understand), mashed potatoes (mashed potatoes, by the way, are not bad, in butter and milk, not olive oil), rice , pasta, one dish from the cook (fish, or turkey, or another beef from veal), for lovers there is a cook that cooks spaghetti in Neapolitano sauce or bechamel (two sauces, not 4 as in some hotels). Two soups for lunch and dinner are a must, as for me onion and tomato are traditionally the best. There is always some kind of vegetarian dish. You will not stay hungry, but there is no variety. As you can imagine, we didn’t go there for him, I’m not a gourmet at all, so this didn’t affect our rest. I didn't leave the sea for lunch, I ate in the grill house near the pool. Almost everything is the same for us as in the main restaurant, but the soup is always vegetarian. And sweet, naturally, no cake, no cakes, you still can't keep them on the street. Baklava, cookies, buns. There are always avocados, oranges, tangerines (the second two are always very sweet, normal), cucumbers, tomatoes (extreme less often). There are 4-6 types of cakes in the main restaurant. Cakes 8-10. Yes, not 20. Well, we're fine. For dinner, there is always factory ice cream on a stick. So-so, but there is.
All food is Europeanized. No one has ever been poisoned, including children. And, I will also note that in the morning as many as two cooks prepare scrambled eggs and omelettes. Apparently, there used to be a queue, but now the situation has been corrected.
I really liked the Christmas motives in which both the lobby and the main restaurant were decorated. Or rather, not even the decoration itself, but the background music! They play Sinatra-style Christmas carols all the time, like an American Christmas movie. Retro:

By the way, every evening there is live music on the platform near the lobby! The singer (I don't remember the name already, I beg your pardon, I think Julia), performs all the hits we know. And the old Soviet, and from the new stage, and English-language hits, in general, the whole set. Performs with enthusiasm, original! The only thing is that her equipment is already flying, to put it mildly. The tweeter is already wheezing, preventing you from enjoying the songs at the most pleasant moment. Administration - get normal speakers! The idea with daily live music is great, but the implementation spoils everything.
The lobby seems to have the Internet, but as in all hotels in Egypt, only when the wind blows. At the airport we bought a sim card for 8 gig for 8 euros, I think. Etisalat. This hotel pulls perfectly.
The contingent in the hotel is mainly from the CIS, some Italians, and very few locals. But I'll tell you honestly: this time I haven't seen a single case of frank Tagil. Nice relaxing stay. Mostly middle-aged and older people. The hotel is not youthful.
We went to the center. Taxis bargained $ 5 round trip. It could have been cheaper, but it was lazy to waste time. In the center we bought strawberries for 1.5 dollars a pack. And then we went to the Dreams Victory hotel next to ours (the territory is combined, you can go from the hotel to the hotel without leaving the territory), there are much more shops there than in Dream Beach. If you enter the corridor with shops near their lobby from the pool, go to the distant shop with vegetables and fruits. There the kid gives 3 packs for $ 3. There is no sense in going to the center. Before leaving, we bought a mango for 2 euro kg. the Egyptian Imed, who runs a small free-standing shop on the road from the lobby to the conference room. Always in national dress. In the center, the price is the same or more expensive.
By the way, there is a whole poultry house with parrots in the Vikeishen, and some other animals. Children are interested. The pool there seems to be one, but all heated. And there are convenient exits from the pool to the cabins that protect from the wind. There, and you can clean up. A competent decision, the first time I saw this.
The insects weren't particularly annoying. Even the fumigator was not installed. Probably because it's December.
When flying back, the bracelets were cut off immediately after the number was checked in at 12.00. And they picked us up from the hotel somewhere around 16.30. Officially, the use of the restaurant and bars will be discontinued. Well, we put our things in the luggage room, and continue to swim at sea. And believe me: they were not left hungry and without drinks, although I will not say how. I will only hint: be simpler and kinder in the process of rest, and people will reach out to you, and from the service personnel too;) The administration also reacted normally to everything, did not find fault during this period.
In general, a simple hotel without much variety, but with everything you need for a normal stay, with decoration instead of lacking pomp with a good, as for Sharm, reef. If you love fintipers, and the sea is secondary for you, then this is not the place for you. If, due to budgetary constraints, or some other considerations, you are ready to sacrifice delights and variety, 8 hot dishes to choose from for lunch are enough for you, and not more, your friends will go with you, with whom you will arrange a good holiday for yourself everywhere, and with this, the sea plays a big role for all of you - you can safely go here. You will have a good rest. There was nothing so terrible that could spoil the rest so much, we did not see there.
