Pattaya is considered the resort capital of Thailand and is largely due to the huge number of entertainment and attractions available from this city. As for the sea, it is not of the best quality here, however, you can relax on the shore. Because of the huge flow of tourists, Pattaya turned its best beaches into an obscene state, no joke - when, in an already muddy sea, packages and other garbage float, and I don't even want to talk about the composition of this water.
If you are aimed at a sea vacation, we recommend that you consider options with a trip to, or the beach of a dancing girl, especially if a child is resting with you. And yet, to say that there is no beach vacation in Pattaya is impossible, for this we have compiled a small rating of beaches, which we invite you to familiarize yourself with. The beaches are ranked from worst to best:
- Central (Pattaya Beach).
- Jomtien Beach.
- Dongtan (Dong Tarn Beach).
- Cozy (Cozy Beach).
- Wongamat Beach.
Central beach
All the worst that can be imagined is concentrated on this coast of Pattaya, and this is us about the purity of the water. Here she is not just dirty, but too dirty. On the coastline itself, everything is not so bad, a standard beach with sun loungers (chairs) and sunbathing tourists. 
The national composition of tourists is huge. There are Russians, Asians and Indians. There are many Europeans, etc. From the exotic, there are quite a few trances, girls of easy virtue, as well as elderly European "macho" who buy companions for themselves for the entire period of rest, you will immediately recognize them ... Also, young people are very fond of walking in this area , but the truth is, already in the evening. 
The main plus is its location. Proximity to the center allows you to walk to any cafe or massage parlor in the heart of the city, since everything is more expensive here.
For reference, on some beaches, in order to get to inexpensive infrastructure, you will have to get there by transport, because of the remoteness, or walk for a long time. 
There are many more disadvantages. So, besides dirty water, this:
- a large number of people (especially noticeable on the embankment, as it passes next to the beach line. Tourists constantly scurry in both directions, and it is not easier on the beach);
- obsessive merchants (in addition to food, they constantly offer all kinds of excursions, tattooing, soft drinks, etc.);
- a huge amount of water equipment (jet skis scurry back and forth, boats are moored, tourists are loaded and unloaded);
- too noisy (the abundance of tourists creates an indescribable cacophony of sounds, which over time is no longer so noticeable);
- smells (the abundance of smells is striking, how in the same place it can smell and stink at the same time. To say that there is a constant stench on the central beach is impossible, but there are places that are frankly unpleasant for the sense of smell).
As for the beach, there is yellow sand, like everywhere else in Pattaya, a little rough. The ebb tides are very noticeable, which occur almost every day in summer, from early morning to evening.
Well, the main disadvantage is the road that runs along the beach. It's loud and dirty ...
If you live nearby, then the maximum that you can recommend is to sunbathe here, but not spend your whole vacation on it, because there are much more interesting, picturesque and clean places.
Jomtien Beach
Jomtien Beach has not gone too far from the first option. This is a huge elongated beach, which is divided into three parts according to location:
- Northern.
- Central.
- Southern.
The water in the sea in the north and in the south is invariably dirty. Debris can be found in the water (not only algae, but also human waste products such as bags or bottles). Well, there are periods when an invasion of jellyfish occurs, and it becomes unclear whether these are packets, or jellyfish. Brr ...
Jomtien is also prone to low tides, and here the situation is the same as on the central beach.
The coastline is also different. There is sand, as elsewhere, but the width in the north is greater than in the south (from the south side, in some places, the water rises to the sidewalk). Accordingly, there are more people in the north than in the south. The contingent here is also different. If you do not want to observe exotic personalities, move to the center, because they all cluster in the north. 
There are enough cafes, makashnits, souvenir shops, prices are lower than in the center, but higher than in the depths of Pattaya. There is also a fruit market here.

Jomtien Beach is notable for its good scenery and here you can take a photo against the background of the Koh Lan island visible in the distance or shoot a video. 
Along the beach there is a wide promenade on which palm trees are planted and in some places it resembles Miami, albeit remotely, but it does.
There are sun loungers on the beach, and in the evening it is important to have time to take those on the first line, because, despite the presence of disadvantages, the evening landscape is mesmerizing.
In Jomtien, there are no such unpleasant odors as in the center, as the authorities tried to remove the garbage from the water.
Dongtan Beach
Dongtan Beach is a blue lagoon, but not from the purity of the water, but from the presence of people with non-traditional sexual orientations there. For some reason, it is here that there are a lot of them, so homophobes are better off skipping the review of this beach, anyway, you won't really like it there. 
In general, Dongtan Beach is quite good, by Thai standards, the beach, and even, according to reviews, in the high season there is the purest water. 
The sand is like everywhere else, the ebb is the same as everywhere else.
There is a wide walking path next to the beach, which is pleasant to walk along in the evening. The beach itself is located in the Pratumnak area, which in itself is considered the most luxurious of all areas of the city. But, this assignment to the higher caste also affects the prices, which are a little overpriced here, but what a sin to hide. They are not that tall. Compared to Phuket.
Here, as elsewhere, in the period from July to October it will be unpleasant to swim, since during this period there are a lot of jellyfish (they have some kind of season, or something).
Cozy beach
Cozy Beach is already considered a pretty good place compared to the options listed earlier. It can be put on a par with the best beaches of Pattaya with hotels, since on the shores of Cozy Beach there is a hotel of the same name, the places in which, by the way, run out already two months before the expected date of arrival. 
What can be said about the beach itself. It is not crowded, and there is no such a huge crowd of people, and this is largely due to the difficult climb that must be overcome when returning from the beach. There are no shops here either, they are all up the stairs. 
The sun loungers are not standard, as on the rest of Pattaya's beaches, but quite recumbent and on it you can naturally fall apart lying, and not half-sitting, as in other places. 
The coast, as elsewhere, is yellow sand, coastal debris (we suspect that it is brought from other beaches, the sea is one thing).
There are low tides, and quite often, but in high season the sea approaches almost to the sun loungers. 
The bottom is muddy, it is not very pleasant to walk, especially at low tide, and the sea itself is dirty, you can see jellyfish. One plus. There are no sharks in such water, it's too dirty ...
Getting to Cozy Beach is not very convenient, since tuk tuk does not go to the area, so you have to fork out for a taxi or walk. Below is a map, I think you can figure it out. The beach is opposite the marked hotel.
Wongamat beach
And, finally, the Wongamat beach, which is the most suitable for a beach holiday. The area around Wongamat is surrounded by a large number of hotels (there are hotels with both one and five stars) and condominiums, so the main disadvantage of the beach is the lack of infrastructure nearby. To get to a more or less inexpensive shop, you will have to leave the beach, and you will have to climb to the tuk tuk (the ascent is not difficult, about how to climb the mountain in the Pattaya park area, on Pratumnak).
The rest of the beach is quite decent. The water, in comparison with other places, is more or less clean (albeit unclear) and, most likely, only here we would have dared to swim if it had not been for the choice of Pattaya or the island.
The sand here gives off whiteness and, perhaps, this is the merit of the coastal hotels, which want to have a good view in front of the hotel and thus attract guests.
Hotels with beaches

Let's not go far from Wongamat Beach, where the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Hotel is located.
This five-star miracle has not only its own beach, but also a huge water park, so there is plenty to turn around. There are several accommodation options. But alas, all of them are far from budget.
Another five-star hotel, the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel, is also located on Wongamat.
If we draw a parallel between these two hotels, then the differences are in the absence of a water park in the second option, and everything is the same: several restaurants, swimming pools, a spa and a magnificent view of the sea, oh yes, high prices.
Slightly lower in the price category is the Adriatic Palace Hotel Pattaya.
The hotel is located in Jomtien, and even despite the presence of its own beach, we recommend swimming in the pool, which is made in European style, like everything else in this hotel.
Ambassador City Jomtien is located a little further.
You can drive to it along the highway leading from the center. A well-decorated area will not leave indifferent any tourist. Well, the service, of course, is not in the last place here.

Pattaya, of course, is not the best place for secluded beach relaxation. If you want a tropical paradise "like the picture", it is better to look for it on the islands. Pattaya's beaches are crowded, noisy, with a developed beach infrastructure. On the central beaches, the water is often muddy, garbage also comes across. There is a low tide season, during which the sea runs away from the coast for tens of meters. The sand is not white, but yellow or yellow-gray in color.
List of the best beaches in Pattaya
The most well-groomed of Pattaya beaches is Dongtan, a beach on Cape Pratumnak (this area is considered the most European and expensive). Palm grove, casuarines, diligently swept paths, no road with cars along the beach - all this is a plus for Dongtan.
Also good for swimming is the northern Wongamat beach and small wild beaches among the stones around the Cape Dara hotel, and on the cape between the Wongamat beaches and the beach in the center of Pattaya. High-rise buildings of expensive hotels are densely tuned along the Wongamat beach, so they try to keep it clean, but it is quite crowded and there is not enough natural shade.
The beach in the center of Pattaya is more of a place for an afternoon promenade, sunset meeting and parties. Not everyone dares to swim here. Nevertheless, everything for a beach holiday is available here: a palm alley, a wide sidewalk, shops on the beach with soft drinks, sun loungers under umbrellas. And a busy noisy road with high-rise hotels and shopping centers. Closer to the pier (from where you can take a ferry to Koh Lan with its azure water and white sand), the beach of central Pattaya turns into Volkin Street.
A small beach at Cape Pratumnak, Cozy Beach, is distinguished by its silence and seclusion against the background of other city beaches. It is rather difficult to get to it from other areas. Either you have to take a taxi or go by your own transport. Mostly tourists from the surrounding hotels rest on Cozy Beach, the water here, however, is not crystal clear and at the edge of the beach there is a rain shower right into the sea. But in the morning there is a shadow from the trees and a calm sea.
Pattaya's most famous beach is Jomtien Beach. Very long, therefore varied, but invariably with excellent infrastructure and a road along the sea along the entire length of the beach. Mecca of winterers and longsters. However, there are also guesthouses (closer to Dongtan) and hotels focused primarily on Russian tourists. The sea in Jomtien is dirty, but tourists still swim. It is rather difficult to list all the beaches of Pattaya, because the coastline is long and by law all beaches are public, but in practice, if the terrain allows you to restrict the entrance to the beach, which is adjacent to the territory of a large hotel, the beach actually becomes private.
The Zign Beach, Wong Prachan Beach
In the very north of Pattaya, the list of bathing beaches is opened by the small, almost private beach of The Zign Hotel and further behind it is the Wong Prachan Beach (Crescent Moon), slightly longer than the previous one and overlooking the Temple of Truth. The entrance to the beach is through the Garden Sea View Resort. Both beaches are quite small and little-known as they are considered private. Few people want to go to the very north of the city and go to the beach through the hotel. However, this location has its advantages - it is relatively uncrowded, the beach is not littered, and the sea is quite clean.
Wongamat Beach
The main beach in the north of Pattaya, it is also called Naklua Beach. Since the territory of expensive hotels overlooks the beach, they try to keep it clean. In some places it works better, in some worse. There is a sidewalk along the beach, palm trees are planted, but there is not much shade. The strip of sand is very wide, and at low tide the sea goes even further and becomes very shallow. During high water, entry into the water is rather sharp.
There are plenty of sun beds, massages and souvenirs on the beach, in that part of the beach, which is closer to the center of Pattaya, there are several cafes and bars. A rocky promontory begins behind them, with huge boulders in the water and pretty beaches between them. There is a good view of the large arc of Wongamat Beach and the high-rise hotels along it, many trees and almost complete silence. If you turn around the cape, you can walk along the sea, well-groomed small parts of the beach adjacent to expensive hotels, for example, Cape Dara, interspersed with littered wastelands and mounds of empty shells among the stones. Pattaya Beach
The beach in the center of Pattaya is rather a place to hang out and hold all sorts of noisy celebrations, parties, sunset and night promenades. Few people swim here, mostly local children. Lots of fishing boats at anchor, noisy highways and other urbanization, large luxury chain hotels such as the Hilton and Holyday Inn, Festival and Mike Shopping Malls.

Cozy Beach
A small beach on Cape Pratumnak, next to the hotel of the same name - Cozy Beach Hotel. It is surrounded on all sides by the slopes of a hill overgrown with tropical vegetation, you can go down the stairs, several flights. It is difficult to get to the beach without transport if you do not live nearby. Public transport does not go past, walking far from other areas and through vacant lots with construction sites, there is either personal transport or a taxi.
The water on the beach is not much cleaner than on other Pattaya beaches, except that there will be less debris in the water than there is in Jomtien. On the one hand, the beach is closed by a large hotel complex on a hill, Royal Cliff Hotels Group, on the other - a deserted promontory overgrown with trees with stones in the water. At this end of the beach, next to a stone spit, a rainstorm comes out of the mountain into the sea, so it is better to swim in the middle or closer to the Royal Cliff Hotel. The beach is about half a kilometer long, 20-25 meters wide, at low tide near the coast it gets very shallow, to the depth you have to go far forward ankle-deep in water.

Beach of Cabbages & Condoms cafe and Asia Pattaya hotel
The beach at the Asia Pattaya hotel is called private, but it is easy to get to it through the territory of the Cabbages & Condoms cafe, no one usually asks anything from those who walk along the large green area of this restaurant. Moreover, the territory is very large, green and there is also housing on it. In general, we can say that the entrance is free. You can get to the beach along the 4th alley of Pratamnak.
The beach is not long, about 200 meters, rather narrow. The sunbeds are placed here in just one row, sometimes in two. Under the umbrellas, traditionally. But in the morning on the beach there is natural shade from the trees. The sand is gray-yellow, interspersed with gray, at the surf line is large and with pebbles. Along the edges of the beach there are a scattering of boulders in the water. At low tide on the right, looking at the sea, a strip of stones is exposed, densely overgrown with bright green moss. An interesting place for photo shoots. In the morning and with strong waves, the water can be debris and cloudy. If the sea is calm, it is pretty clean and pretty. Entry into the water can be said to be sharp. But at low tide it gets shallow. There are big waves. The beach has some of the tourist infrastructure, such as massage and jet ski rental, cafes with drinks, but all of this is not very much, because the beach is small and almost private. Phratamnak Beach
Geographically, the beach is a continuation (and end) of Dongtan Beach, which, in turn, continues to Jomtien Beach. That is, physically it is one big line, without any pronounced breaks. The 5th alley of Pratamnak leads to the beach, near the Centara Grand Phratamnak Resort. In total, the beach is about 500 meters long, immediately opposite the 5th alley, it is a large wide area without natural shade, with well-groomed sand and sun loungers under umbrellas. If you go to the right, soon there will be a cape with a scattering of large stones in the sea and a gazebo, a not very well-groomed part of the beach. Strong waves are frequent here. If you go to the left from the entrance to the beach, there is a shady alley with a clean path and carefully swept sand and rows of sun loungers directly on the beach. Nice and quite quiet place, well maintained. The sand is yellow, not fine. Entry into the water depends on the height of the water. There are waves and wind. Overall not a bad place for Pattaya.
Further, the Pratamnak beach, behind a small stone promontory, turns into a 100-meter-long wide strip of sand, exactly opposite the water park and the Pattaya Park hotel. Here you can sunbathe on your own rug, there are no sun beds. There is a beach volleyball court. Then the casuarin grove and Dongtan beach begin. Everything described is connected by a path and in fact is one beach, everything said about Dongtan can also be attributed to these beaches. Dongtan Beach
Located between Pratumnak Beach and Jomtien Beach. The most well-groomed and infrastructurally developed beach in Pattaya. It is overlooked by the territory of expensive hotels and condominiums (in that part of Dongtan, which is closer to Jomtien). A palm alley, a pedestrian road closed to traffic, carefully swept paths, neatly leveled sand, garbage cans, two buildings with showers and toilets, and even a Wi-Fi spot around the center of the beach. A very pleasant place, quiet (as far as possible in the middle of a big city), at the end of the beach that adjoins Pratumnak beach, there are casuarines, fewer people, there are large spaces without sun beds and benches with soft drinks.
On the side that is closer to Jomtien, along the beach path, there are pleasant cafes designed for Europeans, several rows of sun loungers and sun loungers directly on the beach. The masseurs sit right on the sand under the palm trees, on mattresses. The beach is wide and quite long. The entry into the water here is quite sharp during high water, and during low tide it is very shallow for a long time, so swimming is uncomfortable. Jomtien Beach
The most famous and longest beach in Pattaya. Not very clean but still quite crowded. A busy road runs along the entire beach, along which numerous regular tuk-tuk and taxis drive one after another. Large selection of cafes, markets, shops, mats and shops, including several 7-Elevens. Accommodation for every taste and budget, from expensive hotels and condominiums to simple guesthouses and bungalows in the back of the alleys. Bacco Beach
In addition to the city itself, Pattaya has several beaches related to the Na Jomtien area. Administratively, they are already outside the city of Pattaya. If you look at the coast, Na Jomtien is a continuation of Jomtien beach and ends after 12 km with the small fishing village of Bang Saray. The beaches of Na Jomtien are cleaner and quieter, the further from large hotels, the more deserted. The beach closest to Pattaya is Bacco Beach (by the name of the restaurant). Ambassador Beach
After Bakko Beach, further along the coast is the beach of the huge Ambassador hotel complex, which abuts against the Pattaya Marina. Ban Ampur Beach
Behind Pattaya Marina is Baan Amphur Beach, long and deserted. Part of the beach is occupied by traditional Pattaya sun loungers under umbrellas and beach cafes. Along the entire beach there is a pretty palm alley with a good walking path. The beach itself is very wide and unkempt at the far end. But completely deserted. In the season, the water here is azure and clear, almost like on the islands, the depth begins right at the coast. Bang Saray Beach
Behind the Baan Ampur beach along the coast, the beaches at the hotels are interspersed with rocky headlands and the next place where you can easily get to is next to the bungalow type Sunset Village and Pattaya Sea Sand Sun Resort And Spa, in its vicinity the beach is absolutely deserted, there is nothing but sand and sea ... The downside is that there is no shadow either. The Bang Saray beach closes the series of beaches on Jomtien. It is a small fishing village with few tourist accommodations. The downside is that there is silt at the bottom (at the end of the beach far from the center of Bang Saray), so if there is excitement at sea, the water immediately seems very dirty. Military Beach, Sai Kaew
The beach is located half an hour from Pattaya, on the territory of a military unit, along which you have to drive another fifteen minutes, including a serpentine road. Very nice and quiet place. On weekends and in high season, there are certainly a lot of people here, but the atmosphere is still extremely pleasant and relaxing. The sea is clear and azure, the sand is crisp white, the palm trees are green, the territory is very well-groomed. Swept paths, benches, lawn, two showers and toilets. There is a rental of sun loungers, bedding and other beach equipment, several cafes with Thai cuisine and even a souvenir shop. Many locals and winterers prefer Military Beach to Koh Lana beaches. The sea near the coast is quite shallow, and the entrance to it is shallow, so this place is quite suitable for swimming with children. There are several hotels on the territory of this coast, and at the beginning of the beach itself there is a playground. As with any well-equipped Pattaya beach, there are cafes offering Thai cuisine.
The best Pattaya has to offer. Its far from the very first place in the ranking is due to the fact that it is located as much as 30 km from the city center. This place is so amazing and picturesque that excursions are carried out here for tourists. This is truly a heavenly place that only can be on Earth. Sai Keo is also famous for the fact that it is not uncommon to see a flock of wild monkeys that beg for food from local vacationers. It is worth considering that the entrance to Sai Keo is paid, the price includes beach equipment - sun loungers and umbrellas (although the latter are not needed, there are many palm trees), as well as a toilet and showers. The water here is very clear, bluish in color, which is a rarity for Pattaya beaches.
The best beach belonging to the island of Koh Lan, which is located next to Pattaya. This is a fairly popular place, so there are almost always a lot of tourists here. And it is not surprising that everyone strives here, as there is everything for a great holiday. In addition, there is clear water and a well-groomed coastline with yellowish sand. On Samai, Russian tourists are very fond of resting, as evidenced by Russian-language local inscriptions on cafes and restaurants.
This Pattaya beach is located between the popular Jomtemien Beach and the central city beach. On its territory there is a hotel and a water park. Pratumnak stands out among other beaches for its cleanliness and comfort. A well-groomed coastline, almost clear water and lack of fuss are very important for a comfortable beach holiday. Local cafes and merchants walking along the beach here will not leave tourists hungry.

As for the infrastructure, it is relatively well developed here.
The most popular and well-groomed Pattaya beach. As for the coast of Jomtien, it is quite clean and suitable for recreation, which cannot be said about the local water in the sea. Swimming here, to put it mildly, is not very pleasant, after swimming you will definitely have to take a shower, because the water here is muddy and muddy. Why is Jomtien considered one of the best in Pattaya? This stretch of coastline has a developed infrastructure with cafes, hotels, massage parlors, beach equipment, etc. Jomtien is a paradise for lovers of nightlife and vibrant entertainment, which is why many tourists tend to get here.
Secluded Pattaya Beach located in the Pratumnak area. It is considered elite and belongs to the most beautiful in the city with lush, lush and beautiful green vegetation. Thailand attracts tourists from all over the world primarily with its warm climate and sea. But, often, the city coasts are not cleaned and it is not comfortable to rest on them.
Pattaya Beach is the dirtiest and noisiest. Its length is about 3 km, but it is located just along a busy highway. Cars constantly drive here and vacationers breathe exhaust gases. They clean up only once a week, and during this time mountains of garbage and food waste are collected. Swimming is not recommended here. We were on this coast only once, but did not want to stay, went to a cleaner one. I don't know how tourists can swim here.
The Jomtien coast is considered much cleaner. There are tents and shops within walking distance. It is the owners of these establishments who monitor the cleanliness so that people come and rest here. They are directly interested in people and in their proceeds from tourists. Popular water sports can be enjoyed here. The depth is shallow, so there are many families with small children. on this beach several times we rested with the whole family, we didn’t like only one thing - very noisy and intrusive sellers. If you want to take a nap on a sun lounger, they will immediately wake you up and start offering souvenirs, ice cream or other little things. I really wanted to hang a sign like in a hotel with the words "do not disturb". 
Na-Jomtien Beach is located next to the previous one and ends in the suburbs of Pattaya. The water cleavage is shallow and has different depths, which makes it possible to relax with children or dive with scuba diving. Paid sun loungers and umbrellas are lined up, small merchants walk around and fishermen sell fresh catch. There are many restaurants and shops on the coast, sitting on a sun lounger near a cafe, you can catch Wi-Fi and surf the Internet right on the seashore. It is not so crowded here, you can sunbathe, swim and have a tasty meal in a cafe nearby. 
Naklua - This beach is located in the north. There are no shops, restaurants or hotels on the beach. Therefore, it is quiet and calm, but you need to stock up on food and drink, since the nearest store is located a kilometer from the sea. It was on this coast that we spent the rest of the rest. They bought food, water and fruit at the market and used a tuk-tuk to get there. They say that the islands are even better. but, unfortunately, we did not get to them.

Pattaya districts and all beaches

These are Koh Lan Island, Military Beach and Sattahip. In Pattaya itself, the beach holiday is mediocre, since the waters of the Gulf of Thailand are far from crystal clear, the sand is yellow and rough, and you can often see garbage in the water.
WONGAMAT BEACH (NAKLUA). NORTH PATTAYA
Many tourists consider Wongamat Beach to be cleaner than Central Beach and Jomtien Beach. Basically, yes, we agree, on Wongamata the water really seems cleaner. There are fishing boats on the left, we do not recommend swimming there, as there may be garbage and even rats. And starting from the sun loungers of the Centara hotel, the beach is refined and quite swimable by Pattaya standards.

A pedestrian embankment runs along the coast. Also, on Wongamat, there is no road between the sea and hotels, like on other beaches.
In addition to Wongamat, in the north of Ptt there are 3 more small and little-known beaches.
In general, the Naklua area is good for recreation. It is relatively calm and quiet here. The center can be reached by tuk-tuk for 10 baht and 20 minutes. There are shops, cafes, massage parlors. Prices do not differ from other areas of Pattaya.

PATTAYA BEACH. CENTRAL PATTAYA
Beach holidays in central Pattaya are perhaps the least attractive. The beach is large, but there are a lot of people, boats and scooters are everywhere. The sea is dirty, and debris is often found in the water. If you want to swim in the sea every day, we advise you to choose a different area.

The beach in central Pattaya, as well as the central area itself, is the most densely populated. At any time of the day, crowds of tourists of all nationalities of the world walk along the embankment. While in other areas tourists are mainly Russian and European, in the area of the central PTT there are many Chinese, Indians and Arabs. Also in the center there are all sorts of muddy personalities, beggars, gopniks, drunks, etc., from one glance at which, you want to move away.
Most of the bars and nightclubs are concentrated in the center. On the left is the famous Walking Street. It is in the center that there are most prostitutes and trances. There are several red light districts here.
The center is a place not only for parties and entertainment, but also for shopping. All major shopping malls, Central Festival and Harbor Mall are located here. The construction of a new shopping center Terminal 21, like in Bangkok, is underway.
We do not recommend staying in the center with children. Although, readers wrote us reviews that they felt great with a child in Pattaya. Also, we do not recommend this area for those who want solitude and silence, you will definitely not find this here.
PRATAMNAK BEACH. PRATUMNAK BEACH
Pratumnak Hill is the next area south after the center and before Jomtien. It is separated from the center by a hill with a big Buddha. It's quiet and calm here. Few bars. There are no discos. Most Russians live and rest on Pratumnak.

JOMTIEN BEACH. JOMTIEN BEACH
Our favorite beach in Pattaya. The coast stretches for several kilometers. There are sun loungers with parasols and plenty of natural shade along the length. In terms of swimming and beach recreation, Jomtien is undoubtedly better than the center. There are no speed boats or crowds of tourists. Calm and quiet. Beach activities are available in the form of scooters and bananas.

The disadvantage of Jomtien is that it is separated from the hotels by an expensive one. During the high season, Beach Road is heavily trafficked and often jams. But crossing the road is not difficult and not dangerous. Usually everyone drives slowly.
One of the advantages is the embankment. Here you can walk for hours along the sea in the shade of trees. Or grab a snack and dine overlooking the sea while watching the sunset.
Another of the advantages that we noted for ourselves, this area is more lively than Pratumnak or Wongamat. Life is in full swing, everywhere on Beach Road there are cafes and makashniki, satisfied tourists walk along the embankment, retirees sit on the shore with secrets.
Also in Jomtien is the famous Jomtien Night Market. At the market you can not only shop, but also eat Thai food very cheaply. And recently, many tents with Russian cuisine have appeared there. You can have a hearty meal for two for 200 baht! And cheerful music will cheer you up.
Unlike the center, we always walk around Jomtien with pleasure. Therefore, we recommend this area to everyone, first of all, for recreation. In Jomtien, you will have a good beach, and many places where you can eat inexpensively, and massages, shops, travel agencies. And if you want to hang out, you can always get to the center in 15-20 minutes by tuk-tuk.

NA-JOMTIEN
This area goes right after Jomtien. It starts conditionally after Chaiyapryek street. The beaches here are freer and deserted. Approximately the first half of Jomtien can be reached by tuk-tuk. The area is completely quiet. No noisy bars. There are few tourists. Civilization is also less and less, the further you leave Jomtien. 7-Eleven stores and massage parlors are also nothing.
AMBASSADOR BEACH
This is the conventionally called the beach of the hotel of the same name. There are also several other popular hotels nearby. The sea is noticeably cleaner here than on the other central beaches. But keep in mind that this area is very remote from Pattaya. There is a small market on site. Seven and the Mimosa entertainment complex are nearby, but there is nothing else here. You will have to get to Pattaya by tuk-tuk with a transfer for about 40 minutes. Therefore, choose this area only if you are planning on vacation just lying on a sun lounger all day, drinking cocktails, visiting a couple of excursions and maybe once going to see the city.

BANG SARAY BEACH
This beach is the farthest. Accordingly, the problem here is the same as in the case of the Ambassador - very far from everything. It takes about an hour to get to the center on a white tuk-tuk along Sukhumvit with a transfer. But the water is cleaner, a quiet area and close to the Military Beach. You can stop in Bang Saray if you are going to sunbathe and relax on the sand. Bangsaray is not suitable for young people who want fun, shopping and sightseeing.

Pattaya beaches outside the city. Where to swim in Pattaya
Tourists often dare to climb into the sea and on the central beaches. But still, you see for yourself, the water is muddy, there is garbage in the sea, there is little pleasant. Pattaya is definitely not a seaside resort.
But don't be in a hurry to get upset. There are several nearby beaches where the situation is completely different. Some can be easily reached on their own, others can be taken on a guided tour, as you cannot get there without your own transport.
ISLAND OF KO LAN
Let's start with the most popular and easily accessible island in Pattaya. Ko Lan is located opposite Pattaya and can be seen from all beaches. And if in Ptt itself the water is cloudy brown, then just an hour away by ferry you will find transparent blue water and white sand! If you are going to Pattaya hoping to get a good swim in the sea, then be sure to go to Koh Lan! You can get to the island by ferry for only 30 baht. Ferries leave from the pier at the end of Walking Street. PS: On Koh Lana, admission is free, but you must rent sun loungers (from 50 to 100 baht)

MILITARY BEACH. SAI KEO OR BLUE LAGOON
Sai Keo Beach is located about 30 km south of Pattaya. Tourists come here either on their own transport or on a guided tour. It is called a military man because it is located on the territory of a military base. Military Beach is great for swimming! There is clear water, sandy bottom, the depth comes gradually, there are no waves. Nice ennobled territory. There are several beachside cafes, free showers and toilets. When traveling on your own, please note that the entrance fee is 100 baht per person.

DANCING VIRGO BEACH. NANG RAM BEACH OR SATTAHIP
Nang Ram Beach is less popular with Russian and European tourists; many Thais rest here. Although, he seemed to us more effective than the Military. Nang Ram, by the way, is also a military man. To enter the territory you need to pay 20 baht. Perhaps this is the only mainland beach in the vicinity of Pattaya, where the water is bright blue. You can get to Sattahip on your own only by using your own transport. Another option to get here is to buy a tour at any street travel agency. The excursion program includes just a transfer from the hotel for the whole day and sometimes even lunch is included in the price.
