    Governor's Beach in Cyprus

Governor's Beach is an amazing place on the Cyprus map. The combination of white limestone cliffs and dark volcanic sand creates an exquisite frame for the seascape. Once the governor of the island came here to relax, swim and enjoy the magnificent views.

    Sand beach

    Geroskipou beach

On the southwestern coast of Cyprus, near the town of Geroskipou, there is a small (its length is only 350 m), but very cozy beach. Convenient location in the bay, the absence of nearby noisy highways and residential areas distinguishes Geroskipa from other resting places.

    Dasoudi beach in Limassol

Dasoudi beach is considered one of the most popular in Limassol. It is located on the east coast, in the Germasogeia area, where most of the hotels are concentrated. This is the longest beach in the city - its length is more than 1 km. It was named after the adjacent eucalyptus grove.

    Konnos Bay Beach

Among the beaches of Protaras, which are great for families, almost all have a well-developed infrastructure. There are practically no wild beaches without any amenities. However, for lovers of a quiet, secluded vacation without an influx of tourists, Konnos Bay Beach can be recommended.

    Mackenzie Beach

Mackenzie is the second most important beach in Larnaca after Finikoudes. It is located south of the city center, closer to the airport, next to Lake Aliki-Larnacas. Due to the remoteness from the location of most of the hotels on "Mackenzie" is not so crowded, while there is everything you need to relax.

    Makronisos beach

One of the cleanest, most beautiful, calm and comfortable beaches in Ayia Napa is Makronissos Beach. It has a whole heap of advantages, but there is only one drawback - a small parking lot, which in the season is packed in the morning. And so - well, just a heavenly place.

    Sand beach

    Pernera beach

Ayia Napa is not a resort about silence, but even here there is at least one quiet place. This is Pernera beach, which attracts with its calm atmosphere and the absence of noisy bars. The water area is occupied by a bay formed by a rocky promontory on the western edge, it protects bathers from wind and waves.

    Sunrise Beach

The beaches of Protaras are equally good for families, but Sunrise Beach is considered elite - one of the most luxurious and well-equipped It is not surprising - because the beach is located at the four-star Sunrise Beach hotel of the same name, on the best stretch of the entire coastline of the resort.

It's no secret that the lion's share of vacationers travels to Cyprus precisely because of its amazing beaches. No, there is, of course, a separate share of crazy people who prioritize violent parties until the morning or exploring local vineyards, but still the words "Cyprus" and "beaches" go hand in hand, giving tourists the long-awaited touch of the sea, sun and sand.

So what do you need to know about the coastline of this sunny and hospitable country? Firstly, all the beaches of Cyprus are very different: before booking a hotel in a particular resort, make sure that due to the abundance of foam parties, you can even see the sand under your feet. Secondly, all local beaches are municipal, that is, they are free. Despite the fact that sun loungers and umbrellas are offered almost everywhere for a fee, here you can at any time spread your towel side by side and sunbathe without worrying about the consequences - they will not be (well, not counting the possibility of getting sunburned).

They say that the most beautiful beaches in Cyprus are Protaras and Ayia Napa, but in fact, each tourist has his own preferences, so it is better to familiarize yourself with the available set of coasts of the island in advance.

Protaras is ideal for a family holiday, there is a beautiful yellow shell sand with a shallow sea. Ayia Napa is a party resort with lots of bars and clubs, and beach parties start in the morning. Larnaca is considered the cheapest and quietest resort in Cyprus with wide sandy beaches and a gentle entrance to the water. The sea here is even warmer than in Protaras, but in the season when the heat rolls over, this fact can be considered rather a disadvantage - it is hardly possible to refresh yourself in such water. The sand has a grayish tint, which is why the sea cannot boast of the luxurious turquoise hue that Protaras. But here is the main airport of the country, so the transfer will be short-lived. The main resort of Cyprus is, perhaps, Limassol. There are a lot of hotels and restaurants here, but the beaches are not as picturesque as, for example, in Larnaca.

There are a couple of beaches on the island of Aphrodite that do not adjoin popular resorts, but which are simply necessary to mention. In particular, this is the crystal blue Coral Bay in Paphos or Nissi Beach near Ayia Napa. The latter is famous for its picturesque island located right in the middle of the coast, which can be easily reached by wading along a shallow strait.

The "trick" of the Mackenzie beach is the Larnaca airport located literally a hundred meters away. Every day, only a madman can come here, but it's definitely worth visiting once to enjoy the view of the planes landing right above you! Another incredibly beautiful place is Governor's Beach, which is 20 km east of Limassol. In the range: an alien landscape of miniature black sand beaches, which are separated by cliffs of white stone.

Particular attention should be paid to Ladies Mile - the largest beach in the country. Clear water, warm sea, no breakwaters and a lot of cozy taverns with quite affordable prices - what more could you want?

Of course, it is worth visiting the place where Aphrodite emerged from the foam of the sea - the beach of Petra Tu Romiou. Today no one can say whether the goddess came out or not, but it is definitely worth walking on that very foam and rubbing your heels on local stones. Swimming here, alas, will not work - the sea is not safe here.

Nearby is the absolutely incomparable Shipwreck Beach, which is difficult but necessary to get to. Soft sand, warm shallow lagoon, bizarre rock formations and the main "hit" - the skeleton of a ship that has run aground a long time ago.

And finally, one cannot fail to mention the Curium beach, which is near the village of Episkopi, the "mecca" of kite and windsurfers, as well as Lara - the most "turtle" beach in Cyprus. It is located north of Paphos, in an area reachable only by 4WD jeep. This truly protected corner of the Mediterranean is full of turtle nests, and its coastal caves hide the rare white-bellied seal.

Cyprus is one of the best islands in the Mediterranean for recreation for both adults and children. But many tourists who are going with children to the resorts of the island ask tour operators to advise where in Cyprus there are good sandy white sand beaches that will fully meet your requirements. What budget sandy beaches are most suitable for people with average incomes?

The best beaches in Ayia Napa

  • I would like to note right away that the best beaches of Cyprus with white sand are located in Ayia Napa and one of these is Nissi... During the day, adults and children swim and sunbathe here, and in the evening the beach turns into a dance floor and most tourists stay here all night. Along the entire embankment, there are bars and restaurants in which foam parties are held, various competitions are held, and some of them begin in the afternoon. On the Nissi beach you can meet people of all ages and everyone finds entertainment to their liking.

For young children, the conditions here are just perfect. Here comfortable gentle descent into the sea, white clean sand and warm sea... Nearby there is a pier where there are motor boats with "bananas", on which children can ride with their parents. By noon, the beach is completely filled with vacationers, so if you want to be alone, it is better to come here in the morning, when most of the tourists are still having breakfast. There are 3.4 and 5 star hotels.

But it must also be said that almost all areas of the beach are paid, so you have to buy a ticket in order to use the sun loungers and umbrellas.

  • There is a beach near the port Grishn Bay, which is perfect for families with children, as there is not so much entertainment as on Nissi Beach. This is a large beach where you can comfortably sit under an umbrella, and in order to swim there is no need to go knee-deep in water for a long time. Despite the proximity of the city, this beach has everything you need for a comfortable holiday for children. But young people will be bored here, since there are no noisy parties, foam parties and famous DJs.
  • The beach is located on the coast of Cape Greco, and it is specially created for a quiet and relaxing holiday for both adults and children. It is not suitable for youth recreation, as there are no noisy bars and restaurants. Here you can go diving, windsurfing, water skiing, motor boats, scooters.

The best beaches in Protaras

Paphos beaches

I would like to note that the beaches of Limassol are not as picturesque as in other resorts, so they are of little use for children.

The beaches of the northern region of Cyprus

Regions of northern Cyprus can offer vacationers private, public, equipped, hotel and wild beaches. The entrance to the equipped beaches is about 3 euros. There are umbrellas, sun loungers, toilets and showers. But there are also free beaches and one of them is Alagadi, where turtles lay their eggs in the summer and they can be shown to their children, who will be very interested in looking at such exotic things. Most of the beaches are sandy, but sometimes the seabed turns into pebbles, so you need to be very careful, especially for kids. The most popular beaches in northern Cyprus are Acapulco, Camelot Beach, Deniz Kizi and Escape.

The tourist flow to the Republic of Cyprus is increasing every year. It is beneficial for the island to attract tourists, therefore, the tourist infrastructure is being developed here: new hotels, roads and shops are being built, and historical and architectural sights are kept in proper condition. But guests are attracted most of all by the resorts of Cyprus with sandy beaches, and there are quite a few of them here. Soft sand, smooth entry into the water, versatile water activities - this is appreciated by families with children, young people and older people.

The most famous and largest Cypriot resorts are Ayia Napa, Protaras, Limassol, Paphos and Larnaca. They lie along the coast of the island. Almost all the beaches on the coast are sandy; they differ only in the color of the sand: natural black, yellow or bulk white. Most of them have blue flags for developed infrastructure and cleanliness, so you don't have to worry about their environmental safety.

Many of them are municipal property, so the entrance to the beach is free, but you will have to pay to use all the infrastructure on the shore. This also applies to the rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, and riding on catamarans or water slides.

Hotels in Cyprus with a sandy beach are in great demand, so it is recommended to book rooms in them in advance. Let's consider the resorts in more detail from the point of view of beach tourism, including choosing those suitable for recreation with children.

The resort town in the east of the island has grown over several decades from a small village at the monastery of Ayia Napa ("holy alley"). Now the old monastery acts only as a museum, and believers attend services in a new church built nearby.

Today Ayia Napa is a large tourist city focused on active and club recreation for young people. There are countless clubs, bars, discos and souvenir shops in the city. The best sandy beaches of Cyprus are located here, among them the following can be distinguished:

  • Nissi is the most famous beach in Cyprus, therefore, the area around it is occupied by the most luxurious hotels. Coastal restaurants, bars and hotels are vibrant even at night, with incendiary music and noisy theme parties. The highlight of Nissi Beach is its white fine imported sand that covers the coastal strip. Entertainment on the beach is available to people with different financial conditions and levels of physical fitness: sailing on yachts and catamarans, bungee jumping, banana and parachute, beach volleyball. After an active pastime, tourists can eat at the numerous cafes on the seashore. Nissi Beach has extensive shallow areas where the water warms up well even at the end of the swimming season. There are rocky areas on the right side of the beach (when facing the sea). There is a small island in the sea not far from the coast, which can be reached on foot along a sandy spit. Tip: Walk to the island wearing beach shoes to avoid injury from sharp rocks. The lack of space is in its crowdedness.
  • Pantakhou - located to the right of the fishing port. It stretched for more than a kilometer. A narrow beach strip is framed by a rocky shore with growing palm trees and acacias. The crowded coastline becomes quiet only at night and before dawn. For families with children on this beach, choose its left, quieter, side. On the right side there are restaurants and hookah bars, discos and bars.
  • Landa, or New Golden Beach, 400 m long, 50 m wide. The white sandy coast is the owner of the blue flag, it is more suitable for children than Nissi. Landa Beach offers sports and entertainment equipment rentals, bungalows and restaurants, picnic areas and parking lots.
  • Makronisos is a non-partisan area 5 km from the center of the resort. Hotels attract families with children precisely because of this quiet coastline with fine light sand and a gentle entrance to the sea.

In the Ayia Napa area there are others suitable for families with children: Ayia Thekla, Sandy, Krio Nero and Kermia.

Makronisos beach

Protaras

This resort in the southeast of Cyprus is aimed at families with children. Located 10 km from Ayia Napa. When looking for resorts with good sandy beaches in Cyprus, many family tourists opt for Protaras. There is white sand on the shore, well-developed infrastructure and a gentle entrance to the sea.

  • The beach in Fig Tree Bay has become a resting place not only for visitors with children, but also for local residents. Crowded during the height of the summer season, the influx of tourists is reduced in September and May, when schoolchildren have classes. All-inclusive luxury hotels near the beach offer guests various services: use of the pool, boat trips along the coast, sightseeing trips to interesting places, rental of beach equipment: scuba gear, catamarans, boats. Budget hotels and guesthouses for a small cost only offer accommodation in comfortable conditions, sometimes with breakfast.
  • Konnos Bay is located 2 km from the center of Protaras. Not very suitable for families with children because of the steep or long descent to the sea, but great for scuba divers and divers.
  • Luma, the beach next to the Zolotoy Bereg Hotel, is located in a cozy bay protected from wind and waves. Golden sand, green date palms in the hotel area, cleanliness, shallow blue water - ideal conditions for a cozy family vacation.
  • Sunrise, the beach at the hotel of the same name, standing on the shore. A sparsely populated beach with fine sand stretches for 500 m. Admission is free for all comers. Check-in at nearby hotels will find entertainment on the beach for children, youth and seniors.
  • Flamingo is a beach with fine sand, on which grassy green slopes descend directly to the water. Cyprus resorts offer not only passive but also active recreation, Flamingo is no exception. Boats and steamers, jet skis and paragliders, tennis courts, and souvenir shops and cafes are open to the guests' services. Quite a crowded place.

Beach at Fig Tree Bay

Limassol

This city in the south of the island is one of the largest in Cyprus, and one of the noisy and funniest. Like many popular resorts, the city builds hotels of various levels of service, for every budget, so both lovers of luxury life and people with a limited budget come here. From Limassol you can go on sea excursions to Israel, Egypt or the island of Rhodes. You can have fun with children in water parks, an amusement park and a zoo.

In Limassol, the beach area stretches for 10 km, the beaches are not only sandy, there are pebbly and sandy-pebble ones. The sand in Limassol is dark volcanic, with impurities useful for the human skin.

The best beach in Limassol is the sandy and pebble Ladys Mile ("Lady's Mile"). It is very long, about 7 km long, and has all the necessary infrastructure. Here you can go diving, go-karting, ride yachts. There is also entertainment for children. From sand and pebble - you can also name Dasudi, Akti Olympion, Governors, Pissouri, Aphrodite and Miami.

Ladys Mile

Larnaca

This city in the southeast has a long beach line of 25 km. There is no white sand so beloved by children. The beaches are covered with medium-sized pebbles or gray sand mixed with shell rock. The infrastructure of the beaches is also very diverse. Among the beaches are the following: Finikoudes, Dhekelia, Mackenzie, Faros, Kastella, Yanates.

Pathos

There is a large playground for children, and a lot of interesting entertainment. The greatest demand is for catamarans rental, diving, parachute flights, yachting. The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for its highly developed beach infrastructure, and for its perfect cleanliness.

Cyprus has many great beaches. It is not surprising, therefore, that most of the tourists come here precisely for them - the beautiful beaches. The swimming season in Cyprus sometimes lasts six months, and in August-September the water in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of the island warms up to 27-28 degrees. Almost all the beaches, which will be discussed below, are marked with the "Blue Flag", which testifies to their cleanliness and excellent ecology.

So what is important to know about the beaches of Cyprus? Firstly, all local beaches are municipal and free. You can rent sun loungers and sun umbrellas almost everywhere on the beach, but at the same time you can come to the beach with your own bedding and an umbrella in complete peace of mind (and for free!).

Secondly, all the beaches of Cyprus are very different, and before you book a hotel, check if the nearest beach is right for you: there are secluded and calm beaches on the coast of Cyprus, and there are those where music thunders from morning until late at night. and parties are interrupted literally for a few hours of dawn.

It is believed that the best beaches in Cyprus are in the resorts of Protaras and Ayia Napa, however, everyone has different tastes and preferences, and it is better to know in advance about all the alternatives available.

Ayia Napa- a resort with a vibrant nightlife: parties and clubs are there - literally at every turn. Parties on Nissi Beach start practically in the morning. However, the resort is very well planned, so that all the clubs are located in the depths, and the beaches are on the coast. Therefore, even with children it will also be very comfortable to relax here (just don't miss the choice of the beach!)

Protaras ideal for those who are looking for a relaxing family vacation (and, perhaps, will be boring for those who like active recreation).

Larnaca- the most budgetary and quietest resort in the whole of Cyprus, there are wide beaches and a comfortable, gentle entrance to the water. There is one drawback - perhaps someone will not like the planes approaching and taking off literally overhead. The sea in Larnaca is warmer than in Ayia Napa and Protaras (sometimes the water in August can warm up to 28 degrees, which seems to be “too much”: it is already difficult to refresh yourself in the heat in water of this temperature). The sand in Larnaca and Limassol has a gray tint, which makes the sea seem less turquoise than in Ayia Napa and Protaras.

Limassol- the largest of the resorts in Cyprus. There are a lot of restaurants, clubs and other entertainments, luxury hotels, but the coast is not so picturesque. Paphos beaches- mostly stony. Not at all suitable for families with children. But it is able to please divers and, in addition, in Paphos - the most luxurious sea sunsets on the island.

Ayia Napa beaches

Nissi Beach(Nissi Beach) in Ayia Napa

This white sand beach near Ayia Napa is arguably the most famous in all of Cyprus. In terms of importance for the entire eastern part of Cyprus, this attraction can be compared with Copacabana for Rio de Janeiro. The "highlight" of this beach is a small picturesque island in the sea, which can be reached by a sandy spit. Nissi Beach has many hotels, excellent infrastructure and a relaxed atmosphere. True, at times the music rushing from the speakers can seem unnecessarily intrusive.

At the same time, the beach infrastructure and the range of entertainment on the beach are beyond praise!

BeachGrecian Bay(Greek Bay) in Ayia Napa

It is located practically in the very center of Ayia Napa, next to the 5-star hotel of the same name and next to the port. The fine golden sand makes this beach a popular destination for families with children. Here you will not find such revelry and fun as at NissiBeach, but after all, not everyone travels to Cyprus for round-the-clock parties and new acquaintances.

The beach is well equipped. Mainly guests of first-class hotels located along the beach rest here.

Kermia Beach(Kermia Beach) in Ayia Napa

The beach is located three kilometers from Ayia Napa, in fact, between Ayia Napa and Protaras, on the western shore of Cape Greco. It is small, sandy and very uncrowded, calm. From Ayia Napa to the beach you can even walk along the footpath that leads from the port along the coast. If you come here by car from Ayia Napa, the beach is located to the right of the highway. And between the highway and the beach, there are numerous bungalows at the Kermia Beach Bungalow Hotel.

Makronissos Beach in Ayia Napa

Spacious (as much as 500 meters in length), one of the most calm, comfortable, and at the same time clean and beautiful beaches in Ayia Napa. "Wonders?" - you ask. It's true! This state of affairs is explained by the fact that the beach is located at a distance of about 5 km from the center of Ayia Napa, and the parking lot near the beach is very small, and during the season it fills up to capacity from the very morning. So we recommend arriving here (unless, of course, you are guests of the nearby hotels “Dome Beach” and “Asterias Beach”) we recommend early in the morning.

There are no noisy beach disco parties here, but there is a good bar, and those who wish can play volleyball and do water sports. There is even a Diving center on the beach, not to mention the usual beach infrastructure - sun loungers, umbrellas, changing cabins, showers, etc.

The fine sand and the gradually deepening bottom make this beach a suitable place for families with children.

Protaras beaches

Fig Tree Bay(Fig Tree Bay) in Protaras

Dream Beach in Protaras - in 2011, according to Tripadvisor, the beach entered the TOP-3 of the best beaches in Europe and still rightfully bears the proud title of the best beach in Cyprus. A wonderful, almost white, sandy beach with clear water stretches along the coast for 500 meters. It is well equipped: showers and toilets, cafes and restaurants, sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, a large parking lot. If you are going to come here, keep in mind that the beach is very popular, and by noon all the sun loungers and umbrellas will be occupied. So I advise you to come early.

Konnos Bay(Konnos Bay Beach) in Protaras

A small beach (200 x 40 m) with golden sand, located in a cozy bay 2 km southeast of Protaras (i.e., between Protaras and Ayia Napa).

Due to the fact that the beach is located on a rocky hill, the descent into the water here is quite steep, and the coast is rocky in places. Therefore, the beach is not suitable for vacationers with small children. But it is an ideal place for lovers of diving and snorkeling, as well as jumping off the rocks. High waves are very rare here, because the bay is protected from the wind from both sides.

Even in the high season, you will not find a large and noisy crowd of tourists here.

On the beach there is a rental office for umbrellas and sun loungers (sun loungers here, rather, resemble plastic "troughs" in which you can not only sunbathe on the beach, but also swim on the water), a lifeguard tower, beach activities (quite traditional: boat trips and water views sports). The parking is located on a hill, about 100 meters from the beach. There are cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as several hotels.

The extreme points of the beach are more secluded, where you can feel complete unity with nature, peace and quiet. From the beach, a narrow and winding path leads to picturesque caves, where in ancient times, according to legend, the Cyclops, one-eyed monsters, lived here.

Louma Beach in Protaras

The beach with deep golden sand (hence its second name - Golden Coast) is located in the central part of the resort of Protaras, near the "Golden Coast" hotel. The bay is protected from the wind on both sides, the entrance to the water is very comfortable, so the beach is recommended for vacationers with children.

Here, the entire beach infrastructure is available - rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, showers, toilets, cafes. Part of the beach is shaded by fig trees.

Sunrise Beach(Sunrise Beach) in Protaras

All Protaras beaches are equally good for families, including families with children, but the sandy Sunrise Beach is considered one of the most luxurious and well-equipped. This is not surprising - because the beach is located near the complex of the same name of 4-5-star hotels “Sunrise Beach”. In fact, this beach is an extension of Fig Tree Bay and then becomes another beach. As a result, in Protaras, a long strip of beaches stretches along the entire coast, for many kilometers.

Just above the line of the beach "Sunrise Beach" there is a promenade-promenade with an abundance of shops and souvenir shops, taverns and beach bars. There is also a large supermarket here.

The beach has a well-developed infrastructure: rental of umbrellas and sun loungers, showers and toilets, a playground, a lifeguard tower, playgrounds for sports games. Also, beach guests have access to such entertainment as diving, boat trips and yachts, an abundance of traditional water attractions and entertainment.

The beach and the seabed in this area are fine sandy, and the entrance to the water is shallow.

Flamingo Beach(Flamingo Beach) in Protaras

The beaches of the resort of Protaras are simply ideal for families. The central beach of this resort is the "Flamingo" beach - with the most developed infrastructure and an abundance of entertainment. Swimming here will be comfortable even for the smallest, because the descent into the sea is gentle, and the water near the coast warms up perfectly. The beach is surprisingly clean and the seabed is sandy, so there is no need to purchase special beach shoes like for pebble beaches.

For many who have visited the beach "Flamingo" resembles the coast in Jurmala, but here it is even more beautiful. Scenic green slopes overgrown with grass descend to the water itself, and you can hide from the sun here not only under umbrellas, but also in the shade of trees. Umbrellas and sun loungers and umbrellas can be rented here. The beach has showers, toilets, changing rooms. This beach is especially recommended for families, and is very popular not only among tourists, but also among locals.

Larnaca beaches

Faros Beach(Beach "Faros") in Larnaca

This wonderful beach with a grayish "mix" of sand and sandstone is protected from the waves by a breakwater that comes close to the shore and forms an ideal bathing place for babies.

The beach is located in the town of Pervolia, near Larnaca, on the picturesque Kiti peninsula. There is enough space for everyone: even at the peak of the season, the beach is not crowded with vacationers.

Keep in mind that there are two beaches with this name in Cyprus. (The second one is located in Paphos). The word "faros" is translated as "lighthouse". Indeed, on the western side of the Kiti Peninsula, there is a working lighthouse. So you can go to this beach not only for romantic photos, but also to get to know more about such an important phenomenon for everyone who dreams of the sea, like a lighthouse.

Like all the others listed in this article, Pharos Beach is a Blue Flag holder for its cleanliness and environmental friendliness. The infrastructure of the beach corresponds to: the beach is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas, rescue towers, there is a volleyball court, you can rent sports equipment.

Address: Faros Beach, Kiti Peninsula, Larnaca.

MacKenzie Beach(Mackenzie Beach) in Larnaca

The main "feature" of the Mackenzie beach is the runway of Larnaca airport located literally 100 meters from it. Hardly anyone wants to come here every day, but to visit it to, as an exotic, once enjoy the view of the planes landing directly above you, if you have not seen it yet, is definitely worth it!

The beach itself is long and beautiful, there is no hustle and bustle here. The entrance to the water is shallow, and the sea is clean. McKenzie, like most other beaches in Cyprus, is awarded the Blue Flag and is well equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas, showers, toilets, changing cabins and a variety of water attractions.

Limassol beaches

Ladies Mile(Ladys Mile)

Definitely the best beach in Limassol (located west of the city on the Akrotiri peninsula) and the largest beach in all of Cyprus. It is worth getting to it from the city center. The cleanest water, warm sea, showers, toilets, sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, children's water attractions, a lot of cozy cafes and restaurants with affordable prices.

Next to the beach is a British military base, to which the beach owes its romantic name: it was named after the horse named Lady, which belonged to the commander of the base. The Limassol Salt Lake is also nearby.

Governors Beach (Governors Beach, or Governor's Beach) in Limassol

This incredibly beautiful beach is located 20 km east of Limassol and 40 km southwest of Larnaca. Here you will find an almost alien landscape of miniature black sand beaches, separated from each other by cliff cliffs made of white sandstone. The only thing that slightly spoils the view here is the buildings of the military base, which starts practically outside the territory of the beach.

The beach got its name in honor of the British governor of the island, who spent several hours a day relaxing on this picturesque beach (oh, my friend had a dusty job!)

Kourion beach(Kourion Beach)

The picturesque beach of Kourion, about 1 km long, near the village of Episkopi, is the Cypriot "mecca" of all kite and wind surfers. For mere mortals, this is just a well-equipped beach with clear water, framed by picturesque high white cliffs. There are sun loungers and sun umbrellas, changing cabins, toilets, showers. Lifeguards are on duty throughout the swimming season.

Nearby there is a luxurious amphitheater and the whole archaeological complex of Kourion, with perfectly preserved mosaics.

Polis beaches

Latchi Beachin Polis

Latchi was once a small fishing village, but today it is a great place for a beach holiday. The beach is probably not as photogenic as the famous beaches of Protaras and Ayia Napa (because Latchi is a small pebble beach of a dirty gray color), but Latchi is an ideal place for everyone who is tired of the hustle and bustle and does not find the desired rest in crowded popular resorts. Here you can spend time calmly and alone, be alone with nature (the sea here is the purest, magnificent turquoise color!) And your own thoughts.

The beach is well equipped: there are showers, toilets, platforms for easy entry into the water, a path for people with disabilities, sun loungers and umbrellas for rent.

Latchi is located on the picturesque Akamas Peninsula, near the city of Polis.

The coastline of Latchi stretches for 1.5 km and smoothly (almost imperceptibly!) Turns into the Polis beach. The beach strip is wide - 30-50 m. The parking lot is separated from the beach by green vegetation. Breakwaters protrude 50 m from the coast, thanks to which there are no strong waves and underwater currents. In addition, you can sunbathe on the breakwaters, enjoying complete privacy.

The descent into the water is smooth - this is a big plus if you are relaxing with children. The depth begins at a distance of about 7 m from the coast. The water here is always well warmed up, especially in the season.

Paphos beaches

CoralBay(Coral Bay Beach) in Paphos

The crystal blue Coral Bay in Paphos is, strictly speaking, not in the city itself, but thanks to the well-organized bus service and large parking, it is convenient to get here.

The best beach in the vicinity of Paphos.

By the way, the yellow sand, thanks to which Coral Bay is so popular with tourists and locals, is brought here from other beaches of Cyprus. In about 20 years, the sand on the beach is completely renewed (as the sea is gradually washing it out of here).

Petra tou Romiou in Paphos

This bay in the suburbs of Paphos is one of the most beautiful and famous places in Cyprus. It was here, according to legend, that the sea Aphrodite emerged from the foam, and here since then in the water lies a picturesque rock - "Aphrodite's stone".

The beach here is pebbly, but thanks to this, the water is azure blue and very clean. The sea is not safe here, so jumping off the rocks is not recommended, but swimming around the “stone of Aphrodite” three times is recommended for everyone: women - for eternal beauty and youth, men - for inexhaustible strength, and lovers - for eternal love.

Lara Beach (Lara Beach)

Lara is the most "turtle" beach in Cyprus. This rocky beach is located north of Paphos, in an area reachable only by 4WD SUV. You probably shouldn't go here just for the sake of swimming, but lovers of wildlife in the appropriate season can discover a lot of interesting things here: this truly reserved corner of the Mediterranean is full of turtle nests, and rare white-bellied seals hide from prying eyes in its coastal caves.
