The National Park "Orlovskoe Polesie" is located in the Znamensky and Khotynetsky districts of the Oryol region.

The park was founded in 1994 - the area is 77.7 thousand hectares. In the north and west, the park borders on the Kaluga and Bryansk regions.

The territory of the high hilly plain is a valley cut by ravines and gullies, with an absolute height above sea level of 220-250 m.

In the park of natural systems, its island deciduous forests with their characteristic flora and fauna, there are numerous streams and springs.

Forests cover 33,000 hectares - this is the largest area of ​​forests in the Oryol region. There are 900 plant species in the park, of which 23 species are listed in the Red Data Book.

Bear onion (wild garlic) - Allium ursinum

Numerous species of owls live in the park (Upland and small owls, gray owls, long-eared owls), as well as diurnal birds of prey.

Among the rare species of birds, the snake eagle is noted.
