You can get to the place by cable car from Alupka or by minibus from the Yalta bus station. Snow on the plateau lies from December to March, the best time to ski is in January - February. Equipment can be rented.
On the Baptism a real folk holiday is taking place on the Yalta embankment. A divine service is held, then everyone swims in the sea, all the action takes place in a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere.
Each of these options has advantages and disadvantages. Below we will dwell on each of them in more detail.
To Crimea by plane
There is no doubt that an airplane is the fastest and most comfortable way to travel. Earlier, 5-10 years ago, the cost of air tickets was incommensurably higher than the cost of rail. This belief has now become a myth. This is not to say that a plane ticket will cost you less than traveling by train. However, if there is a difference, it will not be so noticeable. The only thing is that the trip needs to be planned in advance: it is better to choose the most “inexpensive” dates and flights a month or two before the vacation.
After the accession of Crimea to Russia, the onlypeninsula airport, located 30 minutes from Simferopol, was thoroughly reconstructed, which allowed it to acquire international status. However, flights from abroad have not yet been operated. Due to the banOf the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation to fly into the air zone of Crimeaand the lack of recognition of the peninsula as part of the Russian Federation by the international community, it is still not known which Western companies will decide to open flights to Simferopol.

It is predicted that this number will only grow in the future. Direct flights are possible from cities such as Moscow, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Rostov, Ufa, Mineralnye Vody, Yekaterinburg,Surgut, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, etc. In July 2014, the Simferopol airport (SIP) received from the mainland of Russia over 100 flights per day.
And, most likely, this is not the limit. In the next few years, a major modernization of the Simferopol airport is planned, in particular, a project has been developed for the construction of a new airport complex by attracting funds from a foreign investor.

How much are air tickets to Crimea?
At the time of this writing (end of January 2015), the cost of a round-trip ticket on the Peter-Simferol-Peter route in mid-February was 8652 rubles, and at the beginning of June - 12,110 rubles. If you want to save some money, you need to have at least 2 months in stock to keep track of great deals. One thing is clear that round trip tickets are much cheaper than "single" ones.
How long does it take to fly to Crimea?
The flight from St. Petersburg takes 3 hours 30 minutes, from Moscow - on average 2 hours 50 minutes, and from Krasnodar - just over 2 hours. That is how long the plane is in the air. In fact, much more time is needed: registration and passport control take at least 1 hour.
By plane to Crimea with children
Unlike the railway, where a child under 5 years old can travel for free, airlines sell children's tickets for half, or even two-thirds of the price if the age of a young traveler is over 2 years old. But you don't need to shake with your child for more than a day in a train or car. Here you really need to choose what you want to save - time, nerves or money.
To Crimea by train: not cheap anymore, but just as "cheerful" and for a long time
The advantages of traveling by train, alas, no longer exist. If earlier travel by this type of transport was justified by the relatively low cost, now the price of a ticket for a train traveling through the territory of Russia (trains do not run through Ukraine at the moment, and it is not yet known whether they will run in the future) is equal to the price of a plane ticket. Of the minuses, it can be added that in summer it is hot, stuffy on the road, there are certain problems with food - everything that causes a lot of inconvenience. But on the road you can read, play board games, lie down, walk.
Please be aware that there may not be tickets for the dates you want during peak season. We advise you to buy them 45 days before the start of the vacation, when the sale opens.
What trains run to Crimea?
With trains to Crimea - a whole epic. Until the summer of 2014, it was possible to get to the peninsula by several trains going from some cities of Russia through the territory of Ukraine. Ukrainian customs passed twice - in the Belgorod region at the entrance to Ukraine and at the crossing of the Crimean peninsula borders.
Due to the aggravated conflict with Ukraine, trains passing through its territory were canceled. People who needed to get to Crimea began to fly more often. But at the same time, the need for rail transport has not disappeared anywhere.
Therefore, in the summer of 2014, it was decided to launch a direct train.062Hfrom Moscow to Simferopol through the Kerch ferry. The system is as follows: in the evening of every day, a train departs from the Moscow railway station Kazanskaya " Moscow-Nalchik", which includes several direct cars going to Simferopol.
Upon arrival in Rostov-on-Don, these cars are attached to the train562С "Rostov-on-Don - Simferopol", which upon arrival atrailway station "Kavkaz" makes a stop for disembarking passengers. While passengers are transported by buses to the port, the train is loaded onto a separate freight ferry. Upon reaching the Kerch port (30-45 minutes on the way), the train continues. Attention: Since September 2014, the train has not crossed the strait. Tourists had to pack their things and, upon arrival on the peninsula, dive into a new train with their luggage. It is too early to talk about what the logistics will be in the next holiday season. As they say, wait and see.
To Crimea by train with a child
If a child is traveling with you, take care of food and entertainment on the road. It is better not to take perishable foods with you: yoghurts, kefir, cheese, butter. Better take more nuts, dried fruits, apples. If you have to travel more than 12 hours, a variety of "quick porridges" are perfect. At the stations, it is better not to buy pies, whitewash, and even more so, not to feed the child with it. Otherwise, there is a great risk, instead of swimming in the sea and playing on the shore, to spend a vacation on the bed of an infectious diseases hospital.
A frequent question from travelers: “Do I need consent to take the child out of the country?” If one parent or grandparents / other relatives are traveling with the child. We officially declare that consent is NOT required, since now Crimea belongs to Russia and there is no border crossing.
Single ticket
Traveling to Crimea with a single ticket will significantly save your money. A single ticket is a "multimodal" system for the delivery of passengers to Crimea, developed for the holiday season, which combines three types of transport - train, bus and ferry, included in a single transport network.
You just need to go to any long-distance service ticket office of OJSC "FPK" and tell which city of Crimea you want to get to. The cashier will issue a single ticket (a train ticket to Krasnodar or Anapa + boarding pass to the ferry crossing + a ferry and bus ticket waiting in Kerch). The advantage of a single ticket is that all flights are very well docked in time and the likelihood of being late for one of the modes of transport is excluded.
