Traveling across Russia by car. Where to go?

So, you are going to arrange yourself a vacation by car. Where to go, what to look for, what to fear?

Traveling by car is not as easy as it might seem

Food in roadside cafes is often much more expensive than in ordinary ones, and it is inconvenient to take a bunch of bags with food and things with you. Hotels and motels are often in a terrible state, and sleeping in nature in a tent is not for everybody.

Traveling across Russia by car. Where to go?

Where you can go by car in Russia, everyone must decide for himself. Fortunately, our country is huge, and there are many places for travel: the resorts of the Black Sea and Krasnodar Territory, Baikal, the Caucasus Mountains, the reserves of Bashkiria, the forests of Siberia. But the roads are terrible here, and sometimes they are not at all. There is no resort infrastructure. Western cyclist tourists who are not used to our crazy traffic are regularly run over on the roads.

Rest by car. Where did I go first?

To Bashkiria. There is beauty here: virgin forests, mountains, and recently a repaired roadbed. And the most important thing along the way is the landscapes. If you go at night or late in the evening, you can observe a variety of animals. At the end of summer, Bashkir grandmothers sit on every side of the road in the villages, selling strawberries, blueberries, and stone bones inexpensively. For them, it is more likely not income, but entertainment. Also, if they find out that you are traveling across Russia by car, they can advise you where to go for little-known beauty.

I entered from the Arkhangelsk region, already on the border of the Arkhangelsk and Beloretsk regions I was pleased with the barbecue - very tasty, and I have never seen such low prices anywhere else.

There are many rivers and artificial reservoirs along the way. You can swim, fish, but the rivers are stormy, and it is easy to drown, which is what happened to a group of Chelyabinsk tourists at the Kaginsky reservoir. Beware! Mosquitoes are not fed here, even a repellent does not save, so the average tourist looks like a Muslim woman wrapped in headscarves from head to toe.

In Bashkir auls, there is no belmes in Russian. They say they don't like guests. If you agree, you can buy homemade meat and milk, delicious bread. Some also have honey, but it's not cheap.

Initially, I asked my friends: they say, I want to arrange a vacation by car in Russia. Where to go? I have been traveling for a long time, but I came to Beloretsk at the invitation of a friend. I was satisfied.

Before, where to go by car in Russia, I didn’t think long and chose the south. But now, from the height of experience, the domestic south seems to me a terrible place to stay - it is dirty, the service is expensive and of poor quality.

This is the case for Abkhazia, although the state is poor and feeds on tourists. I crossed the border at night, as there were traffic jams during the day. As soon as I crossed, we met several locals. They stand right on the border and wait to offer accommodation.

As a result, he rented an apartment from Armenians in the village of Alakhadzy. House for five people. The owners are very polite. The room cost 400 rubles per day. Inside everything you need, the only thing is the common kitchen. But this is nonsense.

The beach is 50 meters away. Wine and barbecue cost a penny. I got acquainted with the company in Gagra, and ate five to the dump for one and a half thousand rubles.

The very interesting lake Ritsa, the road to which was built by the Nazis, is still in good condition.

I went to Stalin's dacha - the leader did not live very richly.

Rest by car in the south. Where to go?

I went to Taman on my four wheels: expensive wine, expensive housing. Therefore, he lived in a tent on the shores of the Azov Sea. It's hot, disgusting, the car gets stuck in the sand. But in the Krasnodar Territory there are good roads. I spent the night in the same tent. In the Krasnodar Territory, there are mainly Cossack villages, people are very interesting.

Refuel in the city of Salsk: the man-owner runs everyone himself. Cheerful, mischievous - while he was in charge, they hunted stories. Gasoline, by the way, is somewhat cheaper than in the center of Russia.

Enjoy your holiday! Wherever you go by car in Russia, you will find something interesting everywhere.
