Fukuoka beaches with clear water. The best beaches in Fukuoka - what attracts tourists? When to go. Best time to visit Fukuoka

Phu Quoc located in the calm waters of the Gulf of Thailand, is the largest island Vietnam and the site of the best beaches in the country. But this does not mean that they are all equally good. The range here is extremely wide - from a piece of paradise to a garbage dump.

On the mainland of Vietnam, many try to visit one of the best beaches in Vietnam - Doklet. On Fukuoka the choice of a place for recreation will be more: sandy and rocky, equipped and wild, with a developed infrastructure and completely unsuitable for a beach holiday.

You can find and book an inexpensive tour to Vietnam using the services, and . The search for tours is carried out in the databases of 130 tour operators online. Compare prices, choose the best options. You don't have to go to the travel agency's office to get a voucher.

Tourism industry at Fukuoka now it is developing at an accelerated pace - a new international airport has opened, additional ferry terminals are being built, the world's leading hotel chains have begun building hotels.

For the foreseeable future, beaches Fukuoka will belong to one or another hotel, and some of them are likely to be cleaner and better equipped. In the meantime, 150 km of coastline make it possible to find a corner for every taste.

Fukuoka beaches

On Fukuoka the most famous are 10 beaches, which differ markedly from each other in the level of comfort, development of tourist infrastructure and cleanliness.

Bai Dai Beach

Dai Beach located in the northwest of the island Phu Quoc... A few years ago, it was one of the most untouched by civilization beaches in the world, and now there is one of the best chain hotels in Vietnam - Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort 5 *.

True, this will not prevent you, if you wish, from finding secluded sections of the beach with untouched nature.

Beach Bai Dai still clean, covered with yellow loose sand. The most uninhabited idyllic stretches of the beach are closer to the beach and opposite the Turtle Island (Hon Doi Moi Island).

Turtle Island (Hon Doi Moi Island) is where diving and snorkelling enthusiasts go and is home to a famous dive site.

The sea here is warm, with a gentle sunset, without currents, with water of various shades from blue to green. The beach strip is not wide, in some areas the casaurina (eolian tree) comes close to the beach.

Beach Dai Beach ideal for children and those who cannot swim.

There are small restaurants along the coast in the hamlet Ganh dau(with still low prices).

Vung Bau Beach

Wung Bau one of the least crowded beaches - except for a couple of small restaurants, you will not find anything here. It is located south of the beach.

The beach is about 4.5 km long and is surrounded by tall grass, palms and casaurines.
The sea is calm in the dry season and quite aggressive in the rainy season. The entrance to the water is shallow with a gradually increasing depth.

On this beach, not only starfish, shells, but also sea urchins are not uncommon, so be careful, watch your step.

Close to the beach Wung Bau there are several small hotels (you can also have a snack there):

  • Bamboo Cottages(with its own private beach, luxurious rooms)
  • Vung Bau Resort(gorgeous beach + reasonable price)
  • Mai Phuong Phu Quoc Resort(comfortable beach + reasonable price)

Ong Lang Beach

Beach Ong Lang is located on the west coast of the island between the village of Ganh Dau and the main city of the island - Duong Dong.

Ong Lang noticeably different from other beaches: the beach strip here is periodically interrupted by sections of rocks and stones. Here you can watch not only the most beautiful sunsets of the west coast of the island, but also numerous fishing boats crossing the beach of cows.

The beach is covered with light yellow loose sand, quite clean (hotel staff regularly clean their areas), limited by palm trees and casaurines.

The sea here is transparent, green-blue, calm, with a gentle entry into the water, at the beginning of the high season (November - December), occasionally there may be jellyfish.

Along the beach Ong Lang there are a lot of small hotels, guest houses, restaurants, fast food outlets. If you need more variety in restaurants and shops, then go to Duong Dong - 15 minutes and you are there.

Ganh Dau Beach

Beach Gan Bau Beach is located at the northern tip of Phu Quoc Island, near the village of Ganh Dau. Gan Bau Beach has the shape of a horseshoe, surrounded by forests, covered on both sides by low mountains.

The sand on the beach is yellow, with a significant admixture of ground coral. The sea here is calm, inhabited by various animals (thanks to the presence of corals and stones) - if you wish, you can watch crabs, shellfish, various fish. Opposite the beach you can see the coast of Cambodia (Mount Ta Lon). Fukuoka National Park and Nguyen Trung Truc Temple are nearby and worth a visit.

Right on the beach Gan Bau Beach there are two restaurants where you can taste seafood or national Vietnamese cuisine (the cost of meals starts from 100,000VND). In the village itself you can taste traditional Vietnamese food for 35,000 VND. As of March 2016, there was not a single working ATM here.

There are no hotels on the beach, but you can stay at Ganh Dau.

Sao & Khem Beaches (Bai Sao and Bai Khem)

Beach Sao Beach is located in the southeast of the island, 7 km from the town of An Thoi. This is one of the best beaches not only in Vietnam, but throughout Southeast Asia.

Sao Beach is famous for its white sand - very much like the beaches of the Caribbean.

The best section of the beach is next to the restaurant Paradiso(it was previously called “No Problem”). In the southern part of the beach, the sand is yellow, coarser, and it is difficult to call the beach clean. A few years ago it was perfect, but now you can see the consequences of its popularity - some areas are covered with debris.

The sea here has a characteristic turquoise hue, shallow (to a depth of more than 100 m).

In the sea you can see many fry of fish, crustaceans, sometimes squid, in September - October there are many starfish near the coast.

Today on the beach Sao Beach you will find many restaurants, bars, small hotels, tour desks, boat and kayak rentals, windsurfing and kitesurfing centers.

Beach Bai Khem located next door, known for its white sand. Until 2014, this part of the island was closed to tourists (there were military facilities here). Now access is free, but contrary to what is written about the beach on the Internet, it cannot be considered comfortable: the coastal waters are rich in fish, shrimps, anchovies, and this has led to the fact that the largest fish market is located here. Anyone who has been to similar markets in Vietnam at least once knows that there is no need to talk about cleanliness here.

In the near future, the authorities plan to close the fish market here and convert the beach exclusively for tourism.

Long Beach

Long Beach It is the epicenter of a beach holiday in Fukuoka - 20 km of golden sand, turquoise sea and gorgeous sunsets.

The beach is located on the west coast of the island, just 10 minutes from the international airport. It is comfortable here to sunbathe, swim, do water sports, relax and just bask in the sun.

Numerous hotels, restaurants, shops stretch along the entire beach. Vendors right on the beach will offer you drinks, fruits, seafood.

The beach is conventionally divided into 2 parts: north and south.

North of Long Beach has a length of 5 km, starts at the Eden Resort (in Duong Dong, near the new airport) and ends at the rocks near the Trang An Phu Quoc Hotel.

South of Long Beach stretches for 15 km, includes a series of small local beaches (Xep Beach, Dai Do Beach, Duong Co Beach, Duong Xanh Beach, and Vuon Dua Beach). It is not so crowded here, the infrastructure is somewhat less developed than in the northern part. It is worth going here for those who are looking for peace and quiet.

Low population of the southern part of the beach Long Beach This is a temporary phenomenon - large-scale construction of large tourist complexes begins here (by 2020, construction is planned to be completed).

Rach Tram & Rach Vem Beaches

Both beaches are located in the north of the island, surrounded by tropical jungle. The beaches are little visited by tourists - the roads to them are unpaved, the tourist infrastructure is not developed, luxurious nature and heaps of garbage on the shore in the form of broken boats, old nets, plastic boxes, etc. In general, these beaches are waiting for the master's hand.

Thom Beach

Thom Beach located in the north of the island - a very quiet and calm beach surrounded by thickets of cashews (hazel). You can get here only by a dirt road, the infrastructure is poorly developed, but inexpensive small hotels are still available.

The sea in the beach area Thom Beach small, ebb tides are noticeable.

In the future, it is planned to build a tourist center here.

Cua Can Beach

Beach Kua Kan Beach is located on the west coast of the island between the beaches in the south and in the north. At this point, the Kua Kan River flows into the Gulf of Thailand, forming many shoals with thickets of casuarinas. This place is not very suitable for swimming, with the exception of small sections of the beach.

Vong Beach

Beach Wong Beach the first one seen by guests arriving on the island by water: there is a ferry terminal, where they arrive from the mainland. From the capital of the island Doung Dong - 8 km, nearby is the village of Ham Ninh.

The surrounding nature looks much nicer than the beach itself, especially considering that two additional berths are currently under construction.

The sea is shallow here, jellyfish are often found. It is unlikely that you will have a desire to rent a house in this part of the island, but it is quite possible to taste seafood.

Fukuoka hotel map

(by moving the mouse the map, you can see hotels along the entire coast)

In this post I will tell you about the best beaches in Fukuoka and make my personal rating of beaches. Also here you will find tips on choosing a place to come on vacation and a map of Fukuoka beaches in Russian.

In general, Phu Quoc is a beautiful tropical island, but it has its own characteristics. Firstly, tourism here began to develop quite recently and at a very fast pace, because of this, construction, dust and dirt in many places. This is no longer a tropical paradise where you are alone with nature, although in general the ecology is good - there are no industries. Secondly, there is a real problem with garbage and sewerage, the Vietnamese seem to have not yet figured out what to do with it with the influx of a large number of people. Yes, if the staff of the nearby hotel is watching the beach, they will be simply gorgeous. And if nobody's territory, then all the garbage will be raked there.

I think it will take several years and Phu Quoc will become the main resort in Vietnam (like Phuket in Thailand, where tourism has been developing for a long time). Until that happens, you have the opportunity to enjoy the almost empty beaches of this island. And I'll tell you which beach in Fukuoka to choose.

The best beaches in Fukuoka are mainly located on its west, north and northwest side, but there are two chic places to visit on the east coast. These are the small beaches of Sao and Kem. They are small, but very picturesque!

Sao beach

A cozy bay about one and a half kilometers long with incredibly white sand, fine as flour. There are truly paradise landscapes here, curved palm trees on the shore, mountains around, overgrown with tropical forests ...

Bai Sao is considered the most beautiful beach in Fukuoka, this is the visiting card of the island. All the more surprising is the heaps of garbage that can be found in some places along the beach. Apparently there is such a feature of winds and currents that garbage is washed ashore in certain seasons.

Plus, add to this the crowds of people who come on their own or with an excursion, jet skis, bananas and all the attributes of a popular beach. So don't expect a bounty bounty from Sao Beach. The best part is on the left side at the very edge of the bay.

The entrance to the water is shallow, but there are small waves, but the water is very warm - the kids will like it. On the shore there are several overpriced beach cafes (it is better to buy food in advance in a store located at the turn from the main road to the beach), a toilet, a shower, you can rent sun loungers and an umbrella (100 thousand dongs). It is better to come in the morning: firstly, it is not hot, and secondly, the tourists have not arrived yet :)

There are no hotels on the first line on Bai Sao, everything is a little deeper, but I do not recommend spending a vacation here either.

Bai Kem

Bai Kem Beach is located just south of Bai Sao and is a little less than a kilometer long bay. There is an active construction of luxury hotels with all the ensuing consequences, it is not so easy to get to the beach (according to the latest reviews, now only guests of hotels on the shore can get to the beach).

In general, Bai Kem has the same white sand, the same picturesque palm trees on the shore, but there are no people. But all this beauty is available only to hotel guests. In the meantime, there is an active construction, I do not advise you to settle there. even if there is such a possibility.

Long Beach

Long Beach is the most developed beach in Fukuoka. Its length is about 20 kilometers, so everyone will find a place for themselves. The part north of the airport and to the city of Duong Dong is more developed, along the road there you will find all the tourist infrastructure in the form of cafes, restaurants, travel agencies, ATMs, hotels. A part to the south of the airport is just being built, and although there are already luxurious hotels with a large territory, but otherwise you will be on the outskirts with an accompanying construction landscape.

Long Beach has medium-sized golden sand, a gentle entrance to the water (in some places a little sharper), the purity of the water in the sea depends on the waves and weather. During the calm period there was clear water here.

Unfortunately, garbage can be found in some places, and the sewage system flows directly into the sea.

The advantage of Long Beach is the proximity of Duong Dong, where there is a night market, a fish market and several temples. And in general it is interesting to look at the life of a small Vietnamese town. But you should still choose a hotel a little further from the city, a good beach starts from Saigon Phu Quoc Resort & Spa and further south.

Long Beach

In my opinion, Long Beach is the best beach in Fukuoka for a vacation. Yes, it may be a little less picturesque here than on Bai Sao or Ong Lang, but it's still pretty cozy. Plus, the developed infrastructure compensates for some of the disadvantages. It is easy to find a front line bungalow and enjoy your holiday.

Ong Lang Beach

Cool long beach to the north of the city of Duong Dong, it can be conditionally divided into several sections, and between them rocky headlands. Here, perhaps, the cleanest water that we have met on all the beaches of Fukuoka.

Ong Lang has fine, light sand, which is pleasant to walk on. The most picturesque stretch of the beach is located near the Coco Palm Beach Resort & Spa.

The big plus of this beach is the almost complete absence of tourists, as there are many classy hotels on the first line, all of a bungalow type. A chic place for honeymooners and lovers of tranquility!

The infrastructure is rather poorly developed, a little deeper towards the main road you will find cafes and restaurants, the rest of the place is rustic and quiet.

Cua Kan beach

The beach is located next to the river of the same name, which flows into the sea. Rafting on the Cua Kan River is a popular pastime among tourists.

The beach is almost wild, there are no tourists, only some locals. There are some backwaters and estuaries nearby, and a small community lives. It can be messy. There are only a couple of hotels in the vicinity, and a few cafes are on the way from the main road. Suitable for lovers of complete privacy :)

Vung Bau Beach

You can get to the southern part of the bay only through the territory of some hotel, we were in the northern part, the one that is closer to the cape.

Clean and remote beach, quite picturesque. The coastline is narrow, there are almost no people, only those who came here specifically by bike or taxi, and the few guests of local bungalows. The entrance to the water is shallow, the water is very clean and transparent, there are sunbeds and a tire on a rope instead of a swing :)

There are several bungalow hotels on Vung Bau, all on the first line. You can eat only in the hotel cafes.

The luxurious beach of the five-star Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc. This hotel is a whole city with many buildings, villas, bungalows, swimming pools, golf courses, spa centers, gyms, a huge green well-groomed area where tuk-tuk runs. Vinpearl Land Amusement Park is nearby and the hotel also provides free airport transfers.

Bai Dai Beach

Bai Dai beach with fine yellow sand, the entrance to the water is gentle, and the sea is very clean, which is why the rest here is ideal for families with children.

Gan Dau

The village of Gan Dau is located in the extreme northwest of Fukuoka, literally a few kilometers from the islands of Cambodia, they can be clearly seen from the coast.

On the west side, there is a beautiful but dirty beach with cafes on the shore and lots of boats in the water. Most of the locals eat here.

If you drive through the village (you will pass a rather smelly fish market along the way) and drive to the north coast near the Peppercorn Beach resort, there is a pretty beach. During our visit, the water was not very clear, but almost no one.

Appeasement

Phu Quoc Starfish Beach

The beach near the village of Rat Wem is also called the beach with starfish. One of the best beaches in Fukuoka and well worth the trip. Best known for its marine life, with whom you can take a memorable photo.

And you can sunbathe here, white sand, clean water and a gentle entrance to the sea are good attributes and help in this matter. I recommend going only in high season (from November to April), according to reviews at other times there is a lot of algae and debris that no one cleans up, plus the dirt road is washed away after the rain. And also go as far as possible to the right, there are fewer people, and there are more chances to see sea stars.

There is an overpriced restaurant on a wooden platform over the water, no more infrastructure.

Part of Kien Giang Province, Phu Quoc Island includes the island itself and 105 wonderful islets of varying sizes. The island is located at a distance of 46 km from the city of Hatien - the nearest city of the "mainland" of this province.
Most of the territory is occupied by beautiful sandy beaches, but there is also a mountainous region with 99 mountain peaks; the highest of them is the peak of Mount Chua with a height of 603 meters. There are six major cities and villages on the island, such as An Thoi City, Kia Kan, Duong Dong, GanhDau Village, Ham Ninh and RachVem. Each of these towns and villages cherishes its own traditions, features and attractions, which undoubtedly contribute to a great time on the island. We will tell you about the best of them in our review.

Ways to get around the island

By car. Most travel agents offer car rental with a driver. Depending on your wishes and the required number of seats, you can rent a car for 7 seats - $ 100 for 3 days (a good option if you are traveling with a large company or have a rest with the whole family), and a bus for 46 seats - $ 300 for 3 days (a reasonable option if you are going to hold corporate meetings in Phu Quoc). If you need a car for only 1 day, the cost of renting a 7-seater car will be about US $ 35.

And, of course, you should definitely take a walk through the Duong Dong market and enjoy watching the life of the locals, stopping at the stalls of street vendors or shops.

When to go. Best time to visit Fukuoka

The climate of the Emerald Isle is monsoon subequatorial, with two distinct seasons: a dry season from November to May and a rainy season from June to October (rains can last for 20 days). And despite the fact that in most cases the weather in one way or another allows you to travel around the island all year round, it has been experimentally proven that the best time to travel to Phucco Island is from about the end of October to mid-April, in the dry season, when the sky is blue and clear. and the rains have already passed. The hottest months of the year are April and May.

Where to live. Best Hotels in Phu Quoc Island

The variety of the hotel base on the island suggests a vacation for every taste and budget. Most of all, there are “three-star” hotels on the island (in Vietnam, there is simply no star rating for hotels, which is usual for Europe, so everyone sets their own status at their own discretion). At the same time, for 1500 - 2500 rubles per room for two per day, you can get the highest European level service, beautiful views of the garden or the sea from the panoramic window and the absence of any complaints about the rest. Basically, the hotels are cozy, comfortable bungalows with thatched roofs in traditional Vietnamese style.
Excellent accommodation can be found in any of the finest hotels in Fukuoka. Many people will enjoy staying in Arcadia Phu Quoc Resort, Coco-Palm Resort Phu Quoc, and Saigon Phu Quoc Resort & Spa... One of the lowest prices for accommodation offers Lang Cau Homestay, rest in a bamboo hut will cost no more than 500 rubles per day for two.

The best beaches and attractions in Phu Quoc Island

FUKOCA BEACHES
The first, and for some, the only reason to visit Fukoka is its pristine coastline with several paradise beaches. They have not yet been fully explored, and this is what gives the coast of the island a romantic appeal and beauty that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

The beaches of Phukok Island stretch along the coast from north to south. You can only admire them and decide for a long time which one you like the most. In order not to suffer from a choice, we suggest paying attention to the best beaches in Fukoka.
Truong Beach. This is a very attractive area with a white sandy beach stretching for 20 km: from Dinh Cau beach before Tau Ru beach... The coastal waters are home to many inhabitants of the deep sea, and the conditions for fishing are ideal. There is an opportunity to watch local fishermen and taste seafood right on the beach.
Ganh Dau Beach located in the north of Phu Quoc Island on the border with Cambodia. Starting at Duong Dong, the coastline stretches north through Phu Quoc Island National Park - all a beautiful beach with blue ocean depths and white sand. While on Ganh Dau Beach on a clear day, you can see Mount Ta Lone in Cambodia. Don't miss the opportunity to sample the delicious seafood.
Sao Beach located in the south, near An Thoi pier and 30 km from Duong Dong. The beach is very quiet. There are few merchants here, so nothing stands in the way of taking full advantage of the magnificent views. The quality of service on the beach is beyond praise: from basic amenities (sun lounger and umbrella) to the restaurant.
Vung Bau Beach- an idyllic beach in the north of the island near Dai Beach, 40 km from Duong Dong and will appeal to those who would like to discover the ecologically clean beach of Vietnam.
Bai Thom Beach- a deserted beach in the north of Fukuoka island, 35 km from Duong Dong. This beach is quite secluded, making it ideal for adventure seekers.
Bai Vong Beach located 8 km from Duong Dong. It is a wide and shallow white sand beach with a long palm tree lane. The infrastructure is good here and, as a bonus, it is on the Bai Vong beach that most of them get the best photos.

TASTE THE ISLAND ATMOSPHERE
Phu Quoc is famous for two things: beautiful beaches and national cuisine. Particularly famous on the island is the nuoc mam fish sauce, which has become popular throughout Vietnam and in the world in general. You can watch the process of making the sauce at the factory Phu Quoc Fish Sauce located near the market in Duong Dong. The entrance to the factory is free for everyone, but it is better to take it with a guide who will tell you in detail about all the stages of making the sauce. And get ready for ... the omnipresent fishy spirit. Opening hours from 8.00 to 11.00 and from 13.00 to 17.00... In addition, there is something else to see and taste here: spicy black pepper, with a spicy but rather original flavor. Local farmers organize tours of their plantations for a small fee. You can arrange a walk through the thickets of black pepper at any time of the year, but still the best time to visit is from February to July, when the harvest takes place.
Phu Quoc Island has a huge selection of seafood, and they are not only fresh, but also delicious in taste. Caught from the sea and immediately cooked, shrimp, fish and shellfish delight travelers when visiting the island.
Three must-try dishes when traveling to Phu Quoc

Nhum
One of the most bizarre clams to try is perhaps nhum, the sea urchin. It is brown and looks like a coconut. There are two options for eating this dish: raw, or after thorough heat treatment. If raw food does not cause discomfort, do not miss the opportunity to taste nhum raw. When you order nhum, the seller cuts the whole nhum in half horizontally like a coconut. After that, sprinkle it with lime juice and spoon out the meat from the shell with a spoon, dip it in wasabi sauce and enjoy. Fresh taste and sweet aroma combined with wasabi sauce and lime sourness - you can hardly resist and refuse the second portion.

Nhong
Phu Quoc is also famous for its nhong fish dish. You can cook it in different ways: fried, boiled, stewed. Nhong fish is also used to make "cha ka" - a cake with fish. A slice of rice cake, vegetables, and fish cake make a good pairing for rolls.
Nhong fish will also serve as a good garnish for a salad. It is used to prepare "goi ka" - fish salad. The secret to a good salad lies in choosing the right fish and making the sauce. The fish must be fresh and the fillets are cut very thinly. Sprinkle lime juice on the fish before you eat it. Then place the fish and some vegetables on a slice of rice cake and dip in the sauce. The sauce is a mixture of garlic, chili, peanuts, lime juice, fish sauce and a little sugar.

Bang kang
Bang Kang (a variety of noodles) - takes on a completely different taste when combined with fish and is considered a feature of the traditional cuisine of Phukok Island. Served hot, it is a bowl of noodle soup garnished with thu fish fillets. At ease, you can find this fish in three varieties: boiled, fish meatballs and pieces of well-done fillet. The different ways of cooking and serving this fish add a quirky flavor to this dish. The best bang kang options can be tasted in a cafe Banh canh lady phung located in a small alley not far from the street Nguyen trung truc.

What to see in Phu Quoc

PAGODA SUNG HUNG
According to the Mahayana, Sung Hung Pagoda is one of the oldest pagodas in Fukuoka. It is located at the foot of a mountain near the center of Duong Dong. There is no exact information about who and when exactly the pagoda was built. Old-timers talk about two different pagodas, which were called "Sung Nghia" and "Hung Nhan" and were built long before her; then these names merged together, and today all this is called "Sung Hung Pagoda". According to rumors, it was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The pagoda was restored twice: in 1924 and 1960.
The Sung Hung Pagoda has a unique architecture for the ancient pagodas. Its doors are facing north. The pagoda is surrounded by huge trees, and its structure resembles a staircase that gets higher and higher with each step. It has an impressive triangle-shaped gate leading to the statue of Avolokiteshvara Bodhisattva (the embodiment of the infinite compassion of all Buddhas or the Goddess of Mercy) in the middle of the courtyard. Inside the meticulously decorated main hall. The altar of the temple is located in the main hall, in which three Buddhas are seated on a dais: Amitabha - in the middle, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva - on the right and Avolokiteshvara Bodhisattva - on the left. Behind the statues is Cao Sanh's famous Flying Dragon.
There are also many other decorations inside the pagoda, such as the "Dai Hong Chung" - a large bell, and many engraved quotes on the philosophy of Chinese Buddhism.
It is quite easy to visit the Sung Hung Pagoda as it is located near the center of Duong Dong. Free admission. The pagoda is open to the public from 7.00 to 17.30.

KAU PALACE
One of the most famous landmarks of Fukoka is located on the west coast of the island. The palace was built relatively recently, in 1937, in honor of the goddess of the seas Thien Hau. It is worth getting to the palace at least for the picturesque views of the mouth of the Duong Dong River. A special sight awaits those who enter the palace at the end of November (15-16 days of the tenth lunar month according to the Buddhist calendar), when the palace is hosting a festival dedicated to Thien Hau.

COCONUT PRISON
The Coconut Prison, also known as Phucok Prison, is located in An Thoi City. The name "coconut" originated during the Indo-Chinese War and the rule of French colonists in Vietnam. Then there were four sectors in the prison: "A", "B", "C" and "D"; the prison is believed to have held up to 14,000 inmates. However, after the end of the Indo-Chinese War, most of the prisoners returned home in accordance with the Geneva Agreements.
With the outbreak of the Vietnam War, American troops built a new prison with the same name. The new prison had separate sections for men, women and the elderly. Over time, in 1966, another part of the prison was built, intended for Vietnamese soldiers serving their sentences. In the new part of the prison, there were 12 separate sections. Each sector has been subdivided into four more sectors. The prison was guarded very strictly, surveillance was conducted around the clock.
Today, since 1986, the "Coconut Prison" has been recognized as a National Historical Heritage Site and now serves as a place for excursions, being a living evidence of war crimes. Some of the instruments of torture that were once tested on prisoners are kept here to this day. For example, you can see the "Katso Tiger Cage", in which the prisoner was in complete darkness for a long time, and after being released from this tiger cage, the prisoners most often became blind.

MAGIC WELL
Magic well Giếng Ngự located 2 km from An Thoi. The beautiful landscapes of the lake and the verdant mountain slopes of the island undoubtedly cause genuine delight among tourists. On the mountain is a small temple and a pink stone throne known as the "Royal Throne". When approaching the Magic Well, you can see a stele in the place where the "King's Sword" entered, and from where a cool spring later came.
The magic well has not only historical, but also mystical significance, which should not be overlooked by those traveling to Fukok. In the 17th century, fleeing from the pursuing troops of Ta-son, King Nguyen and his soldiers were exhausted from thirst due to the lack of fresh water. To survive, the king had no choice but to raise his sword to heaven and pray to the Almighty: "If the Almighty still wants to see me king - then, may he send us food and water." As soon as the king thrust his sword into the ground after this prayer, from the ground to everyone's amazement, a stream of clear water gushed out.
Choosing the island of Phukok as a refuge to rest and recover from the defeat in the Tai-Son rebellion, King Nguyen was able to defeat Tyson's troops and, a few years later, take control of the Saigon-Gia Din region.

SOURCE TRUNG
The 15 km long spring originates in Mount Ham Ninh and flows through the forest thickets, forming waterfalls. Sparkling waterfalls cascading into the green forest undoubtedly complement the picturesque landscape presented to the amazed gaze of the traveler. Perhaps the very name of the source, the name Tranh ("picture", "view") comes from the magnificent view of this source and the surrounding area.
A 15-minute motorbike ride from Duong Dong City is Tranh Alley, an ideal picnic spot. You can bring some food with you to rest at the spring, and then go to the forest and watch birds and other representatives of the local flora and fauna, following the winding paths and rocky steps along the stream. After a long walk, during which you can enjoy the singing of birds and the beauty of orchids, you will see Hang Doi Mainsail(Bat Grotto), located in the mountains at an altitude of 200 meters. It is home to beautiful stalactites and could be another hospitable tourist destination. And after an exciting walk, you can relax by plunging into the cool waters of the spring. The cost of visiting the source is VND 30,000.
And be sure to listen to the story about the mysterious 10 kg fish caught in the spring by the locals in 2008. There are strange dots on the head of this fish, which is why its head resembles the head of a monk, and its tail looks like a float on water. They say that this fish is so rare that the locals have not seen anything like it for a long time. Although one foreign tourist offered $ 1,000 for the fish, local tourism executives still display it as an exhibit. So, you can look at it yourself for free.

FISHING VILLAGE HEM NIN
Located 20 km northwest of Duong Dong town, the fishing village of Ham Ninh is famous for its charming scenery and the calm, measured life of local fishermen.
Initially, the inhabitants of the village of Ham Ninh were engaged only in fishing, but recently tourism and the sale of seafood and souvenirs have become the main source of income for the local population.
Visiting Ham Ninh, travelers get a rare chance to taste refreshing healthy drinks and seafood - for example, tincture of ginseng and seaweed, mushroom "Tram" (a special island mushroom), tincture of seahorse. And, of course, admire the enchanting sunsets, and before returning home, purchase crabs, a bottle of seahorse tincture or seashell souvenirs as a gift to family and friends.

DIVING IN THE WATERS OF ARCHIPELAGO ANTHOI
Archipelago An Thới, located opposite the southern end of Fukuoka, consists of 15 tiny islets, the largest of which is only three kilometers long. Fans of snorkeling and diving, fishing enthusiasts, and those who want to spend time in the form of Robinson Crusoe (there are small fishing villages only on the largest of the islands, all the others are uninhabited) should definitely visit the islands of the archipelago and plunge into the coastal waters. Boats to the islands leave from the pier in the city of An Thoi, but you can always save yourself from looking for the right vessel and book a trip to the archipelago by contacting the hotel administrator. It is important to remember that at the height of the rainy season - from July to September, it is almost impossible to get to the archipelago, the boat service in Fukuoka is seasonal in nature.

A trip to Phu Quoc would not be complete without a visit to its most famous Long Beach. This 20 km stretch of golden sand is the epicenter of life for both locals and tourists. The secret of Long Beach's popularity is its excellent location - in the west of Fukuoka, 10 minutes' drive from the international airport. Here you can swim, water ski, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding.

Long Beach is informally divided into two beaches: north and south. The northern, 5 km long, stretches from the Eden Resort to the Trang An Phu Quoc Hotel, where the sandy beach turns into a rocky shore. South "Long Beach" is much longer - 15 km - it starts in the town of An Toi and ends south of the Eden Resort.

Most tourists prefer the northern beach - it is noisier and more fun, there are many tourists. In the south, hotels sometimes coexist with fishing villages and pearl farms. But if you want privacy, you should look for it here in the south.

Parallel to "Long Beach" stretches a hotel village, all the beach chairs on the beach belong to some kind of hotel. In most cases, vacationers are not banished from the sun loungers, but it is better to buy a cocktail or a glass of beer at the hotel bar.

Long Beach has a huge selection of cafes, restaurants and bars, as well as actively scurrying back and forth street vendors. For 20,000-30,000 VND they will offer cold drinks, coconut milk, fresh fruit and even seafood. A relaxing massage from a professional master for 50,000-60,000 VND will help to complement the pleasure. Prices on the page are for September 2018.

Practical information

Long Beach is not far from the airport, so a taxi is quite inexpensive: VND 100,000-140,000. If all personal belongings fit into a backpack, you can order a motorcycle taxi: it costs 50,000-60,000 VND. GPS coordinates: 10.169674, 103.969722.

The high season begins in Fukuoka in November and ends in April. At this time in Russia it is sad - there is little sun, cold and windy. Those who have already visited the island dream of white sand beaches and gorgeous, tropical landscapes and wonderful hotels.

Vietnam has recently become a world tourist power. It has already been chosen by Russian tourists living beyond the Urals. The flight from the European part of Russia is not cheap, but even there they dream of an exotic tropical island.

For those who have not yet been to Fukuoka, we will tell you about the local delights, especially the magnificent beaches, not forgetting to mention their pros and cons, the quality of hotels, modern infrastructure, pristine tropics and other local wonders.

Phu Quoc Island, located in the Gulf of Thailand, off the mainland coast of Vietnam, is today one of the most sought-after holiday destinations in Southeast Asia. This is a fully developed resort with a wild jungle, where a person has not yet been.

Both those who love noisy parties and those who like peace and solitude will find beaches here. Young people and parents with children will also love the island. There are places for romantic meetings, socializing with children and calm contemplation of the elderly.

It will definitely be of interest to tourists who love the wild tropics untouched by human civilization, or who prefer a beach holiday. But the giant tourism industry is steadily advancing on the island. Hurry to visit Vietnam in Fukuoka!

Fukuoka's most popular beaches

This is the most well-groomed and well-maintained beach, which is always popular with guests of the island. The finest beachfront bungalows and hotels line its shores. Other hotels are located far from the sea, they can be reached by bikes or taxis.

This is a clean place with a gentle coast, where it is very convenient to sunbathe and swim with children. It is important to remember that the sun is scorching here, gently setting over the edge of the sea. If you don't take sunscreen to the beach from the first day, you can get badly burned.

The sun is extremely hot here, it cannot be compared either with the Crimea or with Sochi. The first days it is better to hide from it in the shade of the cafe's awnings or under the spreading palm trees. Sunset on the island during the High Season starts around 6:00 pm and can be very spectacular.

Long Beach (Long Beach) stretches along the west coast of Fukuoka, it is the most visited. Most of all tourists are on weekends and holidays. But even then, tourists can not be seen on a huge territory, because the length of the beach is more than 15 km.

Long Beach has beige sand interspersed with fine white sand. Beach fleas live here, they are not dangerous for vacationers, but annoying. Hotel employees treat beach sand with special preparations.

You can rent a sun lounger on site for VND 100 for the whole day. If you are staying in a hotel on the beach, you do not need to pay for beach equipment. The prices are democratic, but in comparison with Cambodia it is expensive.

Due to the long length of Long Beach, you can fully explore it and choose the best place to stay if you have a vehicle (bike, scooter or taxi). They can be rented on the island for quite reasonable money.

The northern part of this beach is known to the Crimeans for the fact that the famous music festival "Kazantip - Episode" was held here, near the Sanset Sonato hotel in 2017, on an excellent site built by the organizers.

New buildings, decoration, design of this project today have become another modern attraction of Phu Quoc Island. Everything is allowed to be photographed or filmed absolutely free of charge.

It is located in the southern part of the island. Sao Beach can be reached by scooter or bike, which can be rented in the local capital. Drive strictly to the south for about 25 km. If you take a taxi, then a kilometer costs 10,000 dong or 27 rubles.

The road leading to the Bai Sao beach is of quite tolerable quality, and a dirt road begins at the entrance to it. On the road, face protection masks are sold if you ride a bike or scooter, but it is much more comfortable to choose a taxi.

The beach has fine white sand and magnificent seascapes in the Bounty style, with a large swing hanging from tropical palms. The beach is filled with vacationers, there are hotels, there are sun loungers with people sunbathing on them.

Here you can see tourists from all over the world who come to Bai Sao Beach to see and record its incredible beauty with a camera or video camera. To take a selfie on the swing, there is a huge queue of tourists.

Thanks to the white sand that covers the bottom near the coast, the sea seems perfectly clean and completely transparent, which is close to the truth. Swimming on the Bai Sao beach is a pleasure, although the sea is periodically rough.

The disadvantage of this beach is that it is poorly equipped, there is only one cafe on it. There are no water, sports, youth entertainment, shops or souvenir shops are also absent. But you need to visit here only for aesthetic pleasure.

Bai Sao Beach in Fukuoka is suitable for those who do not really need noise and entertainment, who want to hide from the whole world for a couple of weeks, immerse themselves in themselves and live in seclusion, communicating with the closest and dearest people.

The beach is located on the west coast of the island. It is extremely similar in quality and popularity to Long Beach, but much smaller. The beach is white, like snow, sand, and the water near the shore is crystal clear.
