I will gradually write reviews, but first I will write negative ones. I don't like to write negative reviews at all, but when your hotel spoils your whole vacation, then excuse me, let the people know better what to expect from this hotel.
There is a Russian proverb “they don't look for good from good”, but we love to step on a rake. For two years in a row I rested at the hotel " Clean ponds", Which belongs to the city to the hotel" Velvet seasons", Everything was fine there, the rest was great. But no, I wanted variety, I decided to book the "Catherine Quarter". I think, too, the Velvet Seasons hotel, has a good territorial location, is located almost on the border with Abkhazia. Why not. It was decided, even in my opinion in April, through the national tour operator "Alean" I booked a single room, a floor higher, without a balcony. Alean phoned me and confirmed everything, it remains to wait for September and calmly spend the vacation. There were many plans, but they were not destined to come true.
On September 18, at about 10 o'clock, we arrived in the Ekaterininsky quarter, went to the reception, a girl named Yulia took her passport, immediately offered to pay a resort fee of 60 rubles, check in luggage and take a walk. The meeting went quite well. We walked around the territory, it is all well-groomed, clean, the grass is trimmed, there are beautiful figures, so far I liked everything very much. The only caveat is that at the reception, unlike Chistye Prudy, there was no coffee, no sofas, none of this, people huddled in small recreations. By 14 o'clock I went to Julia, reminded about the floor higher and without a balcony, to which she said, building 14, 1st floor, it sounded like a mockery. I asked her to find a higher floor, and oh joy, my beloved fifth floor. On the wings of happiness, we rushed to building 15, number 5266. We entered the room and a pungent smell of dust and paint after renovation hit our nose, there was a thick layer of dust on the furniture. I am allergic, so I am very sensitive to all odors. But nothing, they opened the loggia as far as possible, hoped that it would get some air and went to see off my friends, had lunch, walked and returned to the room. The room is very small, there is no turn around where there is a bed. The roofing felts bed is double or single, it is not entirely clear. The furniture is equipped with parts from different headsets, differs in color, a light bulb hangs in the hallway, it seems to me that they illuminate toilets in abandoned train stations. The bathroom is small too, the sink is just from a children's set of some kind, but there is a mirror hanging so low to look at yourself or dry your hair, you need to sit on the toilet, otherwise you can't look in the mirror. I would look at all these shortcomings with humor and would not spoil my vacation. But in the evening I began to choke, I needed inhalation, bought salbutamol at the pharmacy and went back to Yulia. She told her everything, asked to pick me up a room, she was categorical, okay, let's see the first floor. I went to look, the room was odorless, also small, there was no this terrible, completely dysfunctional balcony and then I looked into the bathroom. Shock. There is simply no tray or bath! And a bunch of all kinds of metal gadgets. It turns out this is a room for wheelchair users. I returned to Julia, she said that I was only supposed to either this or this number, there were simply no other options. I asked her, she saw that I was suffocating, but she was completely indifferent and threw up her hands. The hotel wasn’t very full, couldn’t they find at least one dust-free and odorless room after renovation for a person who is really sick? She offered to pay extra 1,500 rubles per day and she would transfer me to a double room without a balcony and without a smell. Yes, even the same girl, when checking in, offered to move in three hours earlier for 1000 rubles, but I refused.
I remember how those six days passed as a terrible dream. The garbage was taken out every day, on the fourth day I went to the reception to ask to clean at least once, they came to change the bed, towels and cleaned, the room became at least a little cleaner. Soap accessories were not reported at all, and already on the fifth day I met the maid and asked for soap, to which she muttered displeased that you had soap, we went into the room and I asked to show, she pointed to two tiny remnants. And tossed two more bars of soap over the top. Also on the second day I asked to bring a clothes dryer to put on the balcony, they promised, but did not fulfill. The balcony is completely awkward, glazed, but also the fence is so high that you can stick out one head, the fence was up to my neck. The bed consists of two pushed together, has one mattress and one headboard from a single bed, but to give credit, the mattress was very comfortable. To get on the bed, you need to either just jump there with a fish, which at my age is undignified to do, or after hitting a couple of times it will adapt itself sideways to pass from the other side. In general, staying at this hotel is a survival quest. They smoke throughout the hotel, and not in specially designated places, the iron is just a song, so small, it barely heats up, it is impossible to iron it normally, and as it is fixed with a metal bar (so that it would not be stolen), it caused me like engineer some fears, what if it breaks through and what then? (((
The beach is located nearby, from checkpoint2 it is exactly two minutes to walk, but it is still 8 minutes through the hotel territory. There is another checkpoint, but there you find yourself on an unkempt beach and you have to walk along some kind of stream.
On the territory of the EC there are cafes, canteens, a first-aid post, a good children's playground, outdoor exercise equipment. The territory is monitored, the grass is constantly cut, watered, you will not see garbage anywhere there. Those who deserve praise are the workers who work in the open area of the hotel.
About the maids and cleaning, I wrote only about the 15th building, I can not say anything about the rest. And these are three stars? I got the impression that they just mock the vacationers and that they put me in a promo room.
Bottom line. The hotel is 50 to 50. As I liked the territory, I didn’t like the room, the sheer soullessness of the girl at the reception and the maid of the fifth floor. Asthma attacks are terrible, and in this hotel I have them every day. The rest was completely ruined, one consolation was that I had to stay in the center of Adler for three days on business and booked a hotel there. With such great joy, I have not left more than one hotel, I just wanted to run away from the EK as soon as possible, which I did on September 24th.
Ekaterininsky quarter is a separate hotel complex, which is part of the city-hotel "Velvet Seasons".

It was impossible to swim in the sea for 6 days out of 8 with the sun shining (a storm, a frantic current with floating logs - I have not seen this anywhere on the sea, as if a dam is being opened somewhere). The rescuers were forbidden to enter the sea. The site says that it is 3 km to the Olympic and Sochi parks. It is difficult on foot. Only by car or by public transport they spotted on the navigator - all 5.5 km. I won't go to the hotel anymore, because of the sea and the beach.

The only thing that did not please me was the periodic smell of sewage in the bathroom. It is also worth mentioning that as of October 2014, there is no appropriate infrastructure near the hotel - you need to walk 500 meters to a pharmacy, shop, cafe.
