Since taxi prices in Europe cannot be called democratic in any way, the question of alternative travel options is always very acute. Before the trip, I collected information on public transport from Malaga airport to the city center and back, I think that it is useful not only for me.

There are three options:
- taxi (the most expensive, in terms of time - how lucky, depends on the time of day);
- buses (the cheapest and slowest);
- electric train (the best, in my opinion, both in price and in speed).

Option 1. Taxi
Everything is clear to the taxi, I went out according to the signs, got in line, sat down and drove off. The taxi is honest, the counters are navigators, they give change.
The prices are as follows:
Tariff number 1.(working days from 06:00 to 22:00): per kilometer € 0.84, waiting time (per hour) € 18.47; minimum cost from the airport € 15.21. I must say that estimating the cost per kilometer and the distance to the center of Malaga, it will work out like this, about 15-16 euros, just at the minimum cost.

Tariff number 2.(working days from 22:00 to 06:00, Saturdays and holidays): per kilometer € 1.03; waiting (per hour) € 23.09; minimum fare from the airport € 19.01. Taking into account the fact that we arrived at 22:30, we had to pay 20 euros. Not much, but why pay more?

Moreover, there is still supplements to tariffs:
Travel to / from the airport € 5.50;
Night trips (0:00 to 6:00): € 2;
To / from Levante port: € 1;
Luggage over 60 cm (which is equal to almost any suitcase): €0.45.
During the August holidays and Easter week - everything is according to tariff number 2. So, taking into account the suitcases (2 pieces) and the airport surchagre, a taxi would cost us at least € 25.41. So I started looking at other options.

Option 2. Buses.
Main bus site: http://www.emtmalaga.es

The main bus for us: Airport Express, no. 75

His schedule:

Bus route 75:

For understanding: Festivos - holidays, Sabados - Saturdays, Laborables - working days, Salidas - stops. Centro and Aeropuerto are understandable, I think, without translation. As you can see, the last bus leaves the airport at 24:00.

At convenient stops.
Near railway station Maria Zambrano has two stops on the way from the airport: the first is Avenida de Expladana de la Estacion and the next is bus station at the station (Estacion de Aurobuses). If you are at the station, then you need to get off at the first of them (it will be right in front of the station). Then the bus turns left and disembarks at Estacion de Aurobuses (behind the station), after which it returns to the main road towards the center. You can go back to the airport from Estacion de Aurobuses (there is also a stop in this direction), in addition, there is a stop at Hero de Sostoe - this is the street immediately south of the railway station.

If you are driving to the very center, then stop Paseo del Parque ( Plaza Marina) is at the beginning of a long promenade park (two parallel lines of greenery in the city center, it is impossible not to recognize it on the map), and Paseo del Parque (Plaza General Torrijos) is at the farthest end. From a tourist point of view, the center is Plaza Marina, it is also full of hotels, you can easily walk even with a suitcase (on wheels).

Price happy: Billete Ordinario Aeropuerto Express - only € 2.00. Therefore, if you live somewhere near the train station or in the center along the bus route, then it is generally good.

Second bus: L 19.

When he goes to the airport exactly through the same stop Hero de Sostoe (Estacion) that 75th, and when he leaves the airport, he goes along the second street to the south from the station (see map) - Calle de Ayala. If you go from the airport, then for the railway station you need to get off either at Ayala (Los Arcos) or at Engeniero Garnica.

Price: only € 1.20, but this is a city bus, more stops, more people... If there is a lot of luggage, it will be inconvenient.

Option 3. Train.

The schedule for each specific day can be found here: http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/cercanias/malaga/index.html Schedules differ slightly from day to day (or seasonally), so look specifically at your dates, especially if you are interested in the first or last trains. The station is located directly opposite the arrivals hall, so when you leave, you will immediately see it. Walk 3 minutes maximum.

Tickets are sold in vending machines at the entrance, the system is like in the subway. We bought a ticket, went with it through the turnstile, nothing complicated. Several stops along the way: Gualdalhorce, Victoria Kent, Maria Zambrano - the train station, and the center - Malaga-Centro Alameda is halfway between the train station and Plaza Marina). Drive to the center 15 minutes.

Price: from the airport € 1.35, to the airport € 1.45.
