Nice airport bus to city. How to get to Nice from the airport? Intercity buses from Nice airport

First, let's define the concepts. The airport in Nice is quite large, and therefore actually consists of two separate buildings (Terminal 1 and Terminal 2). The distance between them is as great as the prices on the Cote d'Azur. Therefore, before we move on to the following points - first decide which terminal you are arriving at ... I think you will have this information on your tickets. For example, I flew to Nice on a company flight Wizz AIR... And the indication of the arrival terminal was in my most conspicuous place. The main thing is just to pay attention to it.

A small spoiler - getting to the city from Terminal 1 is a little more convenient. But even if you, like myself, arrive at the second terminal, there is also nothing to worry about. Round the clock between the two parts of the airport runs free bus , which, in fact, delivers passengers from one terminal to another. It takes about 5 minutes to go (or a little less). The bus stop itself is to the left of the exit from Terminal 2.

Farther it all depends on which area of the city you will live in ... Nice is a rather big city. Therefore, the concept of "center" is very flexible here. In order to better understand the structure of the city even before the trip - I recommend that you read the article below.

In it, I spoke in detail about the most popular tourist areas of Nice, and also briefly described all the pros and cons of each of them. If you are too lazy to read, go straight to the site. public transport Cote d'Azur ( ), open the map of Nice and see which buses / trams go to the area you want. There is a chance that you will have to get to some of them with a transfer.

Private transfer from airport to hotel

The easiest way to get from the airport to anywhere in the city is to order a personal transfer. In this case, you will be met with a sign right in the arrivals hall and you will not have to deal with all these public transport schemes. The site has Russian-speaking staff, so if you wish, you can agree to have, for example, a child seat in the car, or the driver to help you with your luggage. You will know the final cost of the trip even before arriving in Nice, so you do not have to negotiate with taxi drivers and be afraid that they will wind up the counter, rolling you in circles. You can find out all the details about ordering a transfer. In the meantime, I'll go further and tell you about other ways to get from the airport to the city.

Tram number 2

We ourselves lived in the south of Nice in an area called Magnan. It is located relatively close to the airport, so the easiest way to get here is. If you also decide to choose a hotel or apartments located in this part of the city, then the city tram number 2 will be the best option for you. He passes both terminals and travels to the city in about 20 minutes.

Exit the airport - and immediately ahead you will see a tramway. After that, all you have to do is buy a ticket for 1.5 euros (in the machine), validate it (in the salon) - and calmly go to the city.

IMPORTANT! We were on the French Riviera in July 2019. At that moment, Nice was actively expanding the tram network. On the day of our arrival, the Magnan station was the terminal for the same tram number 2, but just a few days later, another section of the tram line was solemnly opened in the city. On city maps in the summer of 2019, it was indicated that the line was going to be extended to the port of Nice (and, accordingly, the tram would pass not only along the promenade, but also through the whole history Center). Of course, I am not Alexander Sheps and I cannot say for sure, but with a high degree of probability, at the moment of your own arrival, the tram will continue to follow the Magnan area, deep into the city quarters.

The exact route can be viewed on the Nice municipal transport website, the link to which I gave at the beginning of the article.

City buses

This is where things get a little more complicated. The thing is that there is a bus stop next to Nice airport Aeroport-Promenade , from which many city buses depart. Walk to it from Terminal 1 (!!!) about 200 meters. In order not to get lost, download the MAPS.ME application to your phone. It is a handy offline navigator that I personally use on all my travels. However, you can, of course, do without it (in the direction of that very stop, a thin stream of tourists constantly stretches). Just follow them and you will be there in a few minutes.

If you are arriving at Terminal 2, then you still have to take a short ride on the free shuttle to Terminal 1. You can buy a bus ticket in advance in the first machine you come across (there are the same bus and tram tickets). As I said, it costs 1.5 euros. It must be punched inside the bus.

Which bus to choose? There are as many as 12 buses running from the Aeroport-Promenade stop. Most of them (namely numbers 23, 52, 59, 70, 94 and 200) synchronously follow to the Gambetta Promenade station, and there they each leave for their own part of the city. You can see their route on special maps that stand at stops. However, I will quote myself again and send you to the public transport site ( https://www.lignesdazur.com/en/maps/71 ). Choose the stop that is closest to your hotel - and see what transport stops there. Most likely, you will have many options.

If you take the center of Nice in the broadest sense of the word(like the space between Place Garibaldi and Place Massena), then you can get to this area by buses 52, 59 and 70... Transport on the Cote d'Azur is generally well developed.

Extravagant options

As I said, buses and trams in Nice cost 1.5 euros. But there are also specialized shuttles at the airport, which cost 6 euros. They drive up to each terminal, drive faster and have fewer stops. But this is where all their advantages end. They can be identified by the numbers 98 and 99, written on their foreheads. Is it worth overpaying for the transfer due to unwillingness to walk 200 meters - you can already see for yourself.

Another option that I myself would not consider is the train. About one and a half kilometers from the airport there is the Gare de Nice Saint-Augustin station. You will have to walk this distance. Tickets are relatively expensive ... Therefore, I will repeat again: I would not seriously consider this option of travel.

How to find cheap accommodation in Nice?

If by the time of reading this article, you have not yet decided where you will live in Nice, then I recommend that you take this issue as seriously as possible. The price range here is quite serious, so you can rent accommodation plus or minus of the same quality for 40 euros or 100 euros. In order not to overpay in vain, I advise you to look for hotels on this site. He looks for offers not in just one, but in dozens of different booking systems. If Booking shows the best price for a particular number, it will redirect you there. If best price is found on the Islet - you will also find out about this. As a result, you can always book hotels on the very site that has set the best rate.

As for me personally, for this trip I rented this apartment for myself on the AIRBNB website.

It was located 800 meters from the beach and had just a gorgeous terrace, where it was very pleasant to sit in the evenings. Its cost per night was 50 euros. However, in fact, I paid much less, since I "closed" most bonuses from the AIRBNB website. You can get a discount yourself. To do this, you just need to register on the site here at this link. Thus, you will immediately receive 37 euros for booking apartments and apartments around the world. In general ... This is a good option. I personally feel much more comfortable living in apartments than in hotel rooms.

The express bus to Nice takes about 20-30 minutes, the ticket will cost 6 euros. The city bus is cheaper - 1.5 euros. However, you will spend a little over an hour on the road. Most not convenient option this is a train: to get on it you need to overcome another 1.2 km to the railway station. Enjoy your trip to the Cote d'Azur!

How to get to Nice airport from the city by express buses and budget by public transport, as well as the cost of a taxi.

Bus between terminals T1 and T2

When arriving in Nice or vice versa from it, pay attention to the terminal, as there are two of them. One of them is located a little to the side. With a lot of luggage, it is not very convenient if you choose the most a budget option transport.

If this is T1, then there is nothing to worry about, because after leaving the terminal we almost immediately find ourselves on Angliyskaya Naberezhnaya Street, where city buses travel. If it's T2, then you don't need to worry too much either. After all, a free bus leaves between the terminals around the clock every 5-10 minutes.

Shuttle bus to Nice airport

Buses 98 and 99 are a great transfer option for 6 €. This is not a large sum for the comfort that this method provides. After all, buses call at each of the terminals. There is only one drawback of this transfer option, they travel only during the day until 24 hours. After midnight, only a taxi remains convenient, which I will talk about a little further.

The terminus of the 98 Promenade des Arts bus is a stop near the Museum of Modern Art and the National Theater of Nice. The most popular route among tourists as the bus passes through the very center of Nice. Bus timetable 98 can be downloaded.

The terminus of the 99 bus is the Train Station. The bus is for those who travel further by train or have found accommodation somewhere in the residential areas of Nice, and not by the sea. The 99 bus timetable lies.

Due to the lesser demand for 99, the bus runs much less often 98. But in total, both can take Nice every 10-15 minutes from 6 in the morning until 23:50 in the evening. Tickets are purchased from the driver upon boarding.

City bus to Nice airport

The shuttles about which were discussed a little higher are also city buses, but you need to buy a separate ticket for them and it costs 3 times more. You can get to the airport or almost to terminal T1 by buses 23, 52, 59, 70, 94 for only 1.5 €.

The stop is on Promenade des Anglais or Promenade. To get to the stop, you need to leave terminal T1 and go up to the nearest highway where the Aeroport Promenade stop will be. In this case, you do not need to cross the road.

All of these buses stop at the Aeroport-Promenade stop near terminal T1 and go to the Gambetta-Promenade stop (Boulevard Hambert) and then drive around the city. Either take any of them or choose the city transport of Nice which suits you best.

The closest to the railway station is 23, and 52, 59 and 70 go to the center of Nice. The remaining bus 94 does not reach the center, its terminus is the Garden of Albert I.

ATTENTION!!! Construction work is underway to lay tram lines to the airport. Schedules and traffic patterns are subject to change.

Nice airport train

The railway line does not fit to the airport itself. 1.5 km from the airport there is railroad station Gare de Nice Saint-Augustin. The road must be walked or taken by city buses. It will come in handy only for those who leave the airport somewhere further by train.

Taxi to Nice airport

The most convenient option is as usual and the most expensive. But this is an indispensable option if you are with children or large luggage. When ordering a taxi in advance, for example, in Russian, or you will be met upon arrival with a sign, help you carry your luggage, and at the end you will be brought directly to the door of the hotel booked in Prague.

Car rental at Prague airport

An additional option for those who are going to see not only Nice, but also its surroundings during their trip. In this case, car rental will be the best option... Freedom of choice and time when traveling by car is not worth mentioning. Only the search for parking lots can upset here.

It is better to book a car in advance, so as not to waste time at the airport, and will help you choose the right one in terms of capacity, functionality and price.

Intercity buses from Nice airport

It remains to mention only intercity buses that call at Nice airport. They can travel to cities such as Marseille, Linon, Paris and many others.

Most of these buses are operated by Flixbus. See the official website or website for all available routes.

One of the most popular cities French Riviera Nice has been in great demand among tourists for several decades. Our compatriots are used to thinking that not everyone can afford a vacation there, or, more precisely, only those whose income level is above average can afford it. So, they are wrong. Yes, France is not a cheap country, but you can save money without sacrificing your vacation anywhere, including in Nice.

This article will talk about saving on transport from the airport to Nice, which transport to use and how long it will take. How to get from Nice Cote d'Azur airport to the city

How to get from Nice Cote d'Azur airport to Nice

Nice Côte d'Azur airport is the most popular airport in France after two Parisian "colleagues": Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. Its popularity is associated not only with the city of Nice, about seven kilometers from which it is located, but also with the proximity of other resort cities of France and Italy: Saint-Tropez, Cannes, San-Repo and others.

The airport is located right on the shore Mediterranean Sea and consists of two terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Direct flights from major cities Russia and other countries, but the second terminal is used by only four airlines, including French Air France and Italian Alitalia.
The distance between the terminals is not close, so it is better to overcome it on the free branded airport bus, especially if you have a lot of luggage on hand, or if you are in a hurry. Buses run every 7-10 minutes from 4:30 am to 12:30 am.

On foot

Cost: Free
Travel time: about 1.5 hours

This method is perhaps the least common among travelers who are wondering how they can get from the airport to a particular city. And this is not surprising, because usually the road to the airport runs through the outskirts and low-picturesque areas of cities, past railways and so on. In addition, airports are often far from the city center, which obviously stops tourists from taking such a long walk.

But all of this does not fit this case. Nice Côte d'Azur airport, not only is located only seven kilometers from the center of Nice, but also the road to it runs along the embankment. That is, all seven kilometers along the sea! How, if not by a walk along the water, set the right tone for your journey?

We suggest walking from the airport to Nice for those who do not have large luggage with them, small children (they are likely to get tired from the flight) and tight time constraints. The whole journey will take you about an hour and a half at a leisurely pace.

It is easy to find the desired embankment: we leave Terminal 1 and turn right (if you arrived at Terminal 2, you can get to the first one by bus, or walk to it on foot along the airport to the right). There is no need to turn off the street that runs along the airport - this is the embankment we need, namely the Promenade des Anglais or Promenade des Anglais.

If you want to save as much as possible, you fall under all the conditions for walking, but the time is still running out, or you are simply too lazy to go - rent a bike at one of the city rental points and return the bike back at the same point near the airport!

Bus

Cost: from 1.5 euros
Travel time: from 20 minutes
Opening hours: 5:30 - 00:00

Express buses run from both airport terminals between the airport and the city center. There are two routes: No. 98 and No. 99. Route 98 runs to Nice Riquier bus station and runs from 6 am to midnight. Route 99 has a final stop at railway station Nice (Gare Nice Ville SNCF) and runs from 8 am to 9 pm. Buses stop at the airport every half hour. The ticket costs 6 euros and is bought from the driver. The same ticket gives you the opportunity to ride all day on any type of public transport in Nice. The journey will take about twenty minutes - half an hour. The same ticket can be purchased at the ticket office near the bus stop.

A more budgetary option is a regular city bus. It can only be taken next to Terminal 1, near exit A1. This is the exit that, according to the signs, only leads to a taxi. So, this is a bit of a mistake, since this is where city routes stop. They can also be found at the bus stop at Promenade des Anglais(Promenade des Anglais), which is directly opposite the airport in a couple of minutes walk.

City bus number 23 runs from 5:30 am to 8 pm. Its final stop is Gare Nice Thiers, a major train station in Nice. The ticket costs only 1.5 euros, and is valid within 75 minutes from the date of purchase, and also entitles you to one change. You have to buy a ticket for the driver and immediately validate it in the bus.

Taxi

Cost: from 45 euros
Travel time: from 20 minutes
Opening hours: around the clock

In each terminal of the airport there are signs to the exit from the building, which is closest to the taxi stand. Taxi in Nice is not cheap: from 45 euros per trip to the city center. Moreover, if you decide to take a taxi at night, then the tariff will be 15-20 percent higher.

Here are some of the companies that officially cooperate with Nice Côte d'Azur Airport: Easy Private Taxi, Nice Airport Transfer Company, Airport Private Transfer.

Car rent

Of course, it is impossible to judge the whole of France, and even the entire Cote d'Azur, just by Nice. So we strongly advise you to consider traveling by car. And for this it is absolutely not necessary to leave the house in this very car and go to Nice itself, because you can rent a car.

As in any airport in Europe, at Nice Côte d'Azur airport you will find the offices of the world's most famous rental companies, which will gladly and for a fee provide you with a car for your personal needs. In Nice, car rental companies are represented by such companies as: Hertz, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Sixt, Enterprise, Interrent and FireFly. You can take a car in Nice and return it in another city. And maybe even to another country, depending on where you are going.

It is better to order a car in advance so that you can order additional equipment, or at least the exact configuration that you need, since it may not be available. In addition, booking a car in advance via the Internet is always cheaper than taking it directly on the spot. Well, if you are not picky about choosing a car, then you can take something from the availability right at the airport, this is also not a problem.

The only problem is that the offices are closed at night. If you arrived at night, then it is better to spend the night in Nice, and in the morning take a car at any office of the rental company closest to your hotel - there are several of them throughout the city.

Airport transfers to Nice

Well, the last way to get from the airport to the center of Nice, as well as to anywhere in the city or its environs, is a transfer. What is a transfer? Yes, this is the same taxi, with a little more low prices and a slightly larger range of services. By ordering a transfer online in advance (how to do this is described in the article ""), you are guaranteed to be met by an employee or driver at the airport, they will help you with your luggage and take you to the address indicated in advance. And you will always know the price in advance. To book a transfer from Nice Côte d'Azur airport to Nice, fill out the form below.
