Like most cities on the left bank of the Kuban, Goryachiy Klyuch was founded in the middle of the century before last (1864). Moreover, it was immediately a resort and health resort. The city of Goryachy Klyuch owes its birth mineral springs, which were used for healing thousands of years ago.

The rock "Salvation" ("Cockerel").

The rock was created by the "persistence" of the Psekups river, which for millions of years, bending around the Abadzekh mountain on its way, cut off its southern side. So an almost sheer rock was born.
The top of the rock consists of six teeth (one more, the seventh, in the last century fell into the river at night) and resembles a cock's comb. It is visible from the Don highway in the area of Goryachiy Klyuch.
The rock has two small caves ("Ringing" and "Salvation"). Between them there is a steep "Ladder of Life", carved out of stone. From the Rock "Salvation" ("Cock") a beautiful view of the Psekups river valley, wooded spurs of the Pshaf ridge opens up.

"Dante" gorge is named after the Italian poet, thinker and scientist of the Renaissance Dante Alighieri (1265-1321). His poem "Comedy", called by the descendants of the "Divine", depicts the poet's wandering through the afterlife.

By the decision of the Ecumenical Council in 672, the lands of the Circassians were attached to the Mtskheta diocese (Georgia). Under Emperor Justinian, the Circassians joined Orthodoxy. Hence the veneration of the Iberian icon, which, according to the Orthodox, helps in healing from diseases.
The chapel is located at the foot of the Abadzekh (Klyuchevaya) mountain, not far from the right bank of the Psekups river. It was attached to a stone grotto in the second half of the 19th century next to the healing Iversky spring. He operated until the twenties of the last century, gave local residents Hot Spring and holy water for pilgrims. But then, as a result of the displacement of the rock layers, the water left. Only a bowl in the form of a sea shell remains a reminder of the blessed spring. And the chapel.
Weekly on Fridays at eleven o'clock an akathist (special solemn service) is performed in it in front of the Iberian image of the Mother of God. It is located in the central niche of the chapel. On both sides of it there are icons with the faces of the Savior and the saints. Everyone can come here with a request to the Most Holy Theotokos for intercession, with gratitude for the recovery.
When you want calmness and fresh air - the best way go for a weekend and take a walk in the park of the city of Goryachy Klyuch. From Krasnodar, drive along the M-4 Don highway for about 55 km. We usually park the car at the Stary Zamok hotel, cross the bridge over the Psekups river and here it is - park area of the town of Goryachy Klyuch. Drinking gallery: buy cups at the entrance (ordinary plastic ones, although you can take your own - if available). There are taps with warm mineral water and cold, they are also divided into salty and not salty. You can drink as much as you like - water is free, many people pour it with them into bottles - but as far as I know, natural mineral water quickly loses its medicinal properties.
We go further: we see a small chapel built in honor of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God. It is carved directly into the rock - and very harmoniously merges with the surrounding landscape. On Fridays at 11.00, Akafest (church service) is performed in it in front of the icon of the Mother of God of the same name - so dare, it will be reckoned in heaven.
Nearby there is a healing Iversky spring (ferrous mineral water) - illumination in the name of the healer Panteleimon. Feel free to drink this water, and a lot - there are rumors that by drinking a bucket, you can miraculously rejuvenate.
I recommend wandering along the Dante Gorge - a very beautiful combination of nature and modern " rock painting". People tried to immortalize their names, love stories, sacred symbols, not only their own portraits, but also the faces of the leaders in stone. In general, there is something to see, and if you wish, I think you will not resist and scribble a message for history with something.
There is also a historical attraction (for retro lovers) - the Adyg pillar. It is made from a fragment of a Byzantine column and is decorated with Arabic inscriptions carved into the stone. It was established long ago for the eternal memory of a certain Khapach Lakshuk, one of the most famous heroes of the Bzheduho tribe (for ordinary people, I think there will be enough information for this).
For connoisseurs of natural beauty: the Psekups River and Petushok Rock - a sheer rock of 28 meters. The top of the rock consists of six teeth, reminiscent of a cock's comb. It is visible from the Don highway. Not Elbrus, of course - but it will go for contemplation.

Later the clearing was improved. Wells were drilled, from which mineral water was sent through pipes to a hydropathic establishment, a drinking gallery to pump rooms.

All the "raisins" behind him. If you arrived by car, the Foothills have a parking lot (paid). He has a long history. Mountain park Goryachy Klyuch is part of the Goryachy Klyuch Healing Park, created in 1870. The place is absolutely amazing and amazing.
Goryachiy Klyuch Park was not grown, but created in a natural natural area, only having ennobled the landscape, laying alleys and erecting various buildings.

Today, the Hot Key Healing Park is unusually good. It consists of two parts - the Lower (where the sanatoriums and the hydropathic establishment) and the Mountain Park.
It is in the latter that the most interesting natural sights of Goryachiy Klyuch are located: Mineralnaya Polyana, Dante Gorge, Salvation Rock (Petushok), an iron spring, a warm hydrogen sulfide spring and Abadzekh Key Mountain.

The monument was erected by another prince, with whom Khapach traveled to Mecca.

On Quiet Alley, we met an old-timer. If you can call it that. We ate shawarma on a bench (by the way, shawarma in Goryachy Klyuch is not as tasty as in Rostov-on-Don, and is less than two times in size - if you have ever tried real Rostov shawarma, then you know what I mean). A cat has joined us. Tourists passing by began stroking him and told us a story.

The Iverskaya chapel seemed to have grown out of a rock. Previously, there was the Iberian spring. And in the 19th century, a beautiful small chapel was carved into the rock.

Not far from the chapel is the source of St. Panteleimon the Healer. People willingly drink from there, as it is believed that the water is not only holy, but also rejuvenating. Our youngest daughter is rejuvenated.

It seems that it is along these stairs to the Psekups River that fishermen descend in the morning, those who like to stand with a fishing rod. For fishermen, such a descent is a common thing, but I was very impressed by this staircase. Falling here is pretty dangerous ...
It is a pity that no one wants to trim the hewn steps so that they can be safely walked on. Another wonderful place in Goryachiy Klyuch would become more accessible for curious tourists.

We climbed the Abadzekh mountain. It is difficult to say that we walked in the winter forest. Still, the winter forest is snow-covered trees. You can see for yourself what Goryachy Klyuch was like in winter this January. I even unbuttoned my light jacket when, getting up, I was slightly out of breath.
Winter forest looks more like autumn
The weather is like October. Warmly. The sun is shining with might and main.

Now, when it's already winter with us, I can't even believe that on New Year's holidays we walked through the warm forest, warmed by the winter sun. And only 300 kilometers from us ...
