380 meters above sea level, between famous spa centers South Crimea Cliff and Partenit, there is a tiny lake with interesting name Ai-Efim. And although its area is quite small - the maximum length is 145 m, and the width is 115 m, but the depth is quite large - in some places it even reaches 10 meters.
Ay-Efim is a lake of artificial origin. Its main source of food is groundwater and sediments. Consequently, the depth of the reservoir reaches its highest marks in spring and autumn - when the snow melts and there are heavy rains. But in summer, the lake becomes very shallow and turns into a puddle. This is also due to the fact that local residents actively use Ai-Efim to water their gardens and vineyards. The lake has a neat oval shape. Its banks are flat and covered with lush vegetation, which is typical for the southern coast of Crimea. And these are pine species, and juniper, and fluffy oak, and beech, and Pontic butcher, and pistachios, and many other representatives of the local flora.
Clean mountain air, abundantly saturated with oxygen, attracts tourists from different regions of the CIS. They come to the lake starting in April. Ai-Efim is especially popular on the May holidays when the waters are still full of shores, when plants bloom and smell, birds chirp and this place resembles a small piece of paradise.
In summer - in hot months - the water in the lake becomes scarce, it loses its transparency, acquires an unclear hue. Therefore, July and August are not the best periods to visit this reservoir. Especially if you want to.
According to local residents, there are not very many fish in Ai-Efim, mainly perch and carp. Both the one and the other bite best here in spring - in April-May, when the amount of lake water reaches its peak. As for the carp, it is known to love cloudy water. By the way, the lack of transparency of Ai-Efim is also explained by the abundant aquatic vegetation that lives here and is extremely fond of the second inhabitant of the lake - the perch. The most active biting of the small predator begins in early spring and lasts until May. This is followed by a break, and in the fall the fish bite again wonderfully. It is best to cast your rod from a steep bank, as the perch loves depth. And since Lake Ai-Efim does not have such, it is advisable to take a boat with you and get out to the middle of the lake - where the depth indicators are highest. And if the ideal time to hunt for carp is evening and early morning, then the perch bites around the clock and for meat bait - from an earthworm to a small live bait.
You can get to Lake Ai-Efim by public transport, following along the South Coast Highway from Alushta, Yalta, Gurzuf, Partenit or Utes. The stop is located next to the Vino and Cheese store. A little to the right of this store you will see a staircase that leads to the village of Kiparisnoye and, in fact, to the lake itself. Once a stone appeared in the collection, on the cut of which there was a beautiful landscape with a mountain lake and trees. After this discovery, the passionate collector began to look for new amazing stones and, when the collection reached a large size, a unique museum of stones was created.

In addition to landscapes, on the cut of each stone you can see flowers, for example, a beautiful white chrysanthemum made of crystals against a black background or an amazing kaleidoscope of colors. There is even an ancient fossilized mollusk - ammonite. The stones presented in the museum are local Crimean samples, as well as rocks from the Urals. The number of stones in the museum is more than 4 thousand pieces, new specimens are constantly being added.
Lakes in Partenit

Tied to the mountain ancient legend about a girl and the leader of bears, who adopted an orphan into a flock and raised her. And when the girl decided to leave the pack together with the young man, rushing into the sea on a makeshift raft, then the leader nestled to the sea and decided to drain it, having drunk to the bottom. His attempt failed, and he himself ended up a huge mountain.
In fact, Mount Ayu-Dag is a failed volcano. Millions of years ago, magma raged inside Ayu-Dag, but it never broke through to the surface. The result is a dome with magmatic masses frozen inside. Now they can be seen on the surface, where the mountain was washed away by water and weathering occurred.
A dense forest grows on Ayu-Dag, and from the side it looks as if the fur covered the sides of a huge bear, which is still trying to drink to the bottom of the sea.
Bear Mountain is a state landscape reserve. It is not forbidden to walk here, there are hiking trails... From the height of Ayu-Dag you can admire beautiful bays and the coast on which there are boarding houses, sanatoriums and summer cottages. They observe the irrigation regime, which starts in spring and ends in autumn. A shallow water body cannot boast of water transparency. Fishing also went wrong here. These places are for romantic-minded travelers and photographers, and now, thanks to modern telecommunication technology, almost everyone is fond of photography.
