It grows in the highlands on stony, unsodded areas of mountain tundra and high-grass subalpine meadows, rarely on stony banks of streams and shaded rocks in the mountain-forest belt. Limiting factors. Collection as a medicinal raw material, recreational effect.

A network of paths and campfire sites is growing, spruce-fir spruce branches and undergrowth are being cut down, heaps of debris left are found throughout the entire ascent to the top, on which whole waste dumps have formed. Tundra plants are being destroyed, and the population of Rhodiola Iremel has practically disappeared.

Back in 1965, a natural monument of republican significance was approved: "Mount Iremel" on an area of ​​5980 hectares. The regime of the natural monument introduces restrictions on recreational use, the collection of wild plants, etc., however, due to the lack of protection staff, the regime is not controlled by anyone. Since 1994, preparations have been underway in Bashkortostan to create natural park"Iremel", several pre-project feasibility studies have been prepared.

2. Legends of grief

They say that Iremel does not meet a bad person well, there are many stories about the tricks of Father Iremel on inexperienced tourists. Scientists are developing a theory of the ancient historical purpose of Mount Iremel. In the holy book of the ancient Indo-Iranians - Avesta golden mountain Hukarya are identified with Mount Iremel, and a value is given to it, comparable only to the ancient Greek Olympus of the gods.

3. Big and small Iremel

Distinguish between Big and Small Iremel, which rise on the common base of the mountain range, which has a main strike NE - SW.

Big Iremel is crowned with a majestic plateau-like peak called the Kaban and reaching an altitude of 1582m. The Bashkir word Kaban, meaning in Russian "haystack", "omet", very correctly defines the shape of the peak when you look at it from the west. The meaning of the word Iremel is uncertain; D.N.Mamin Sibiryak believes that this word was adopted by the Turks from the Chudi people who lived here, as well as the names of the rivers Uy, Miass Two spurs extend from the central part of B. Iremel: one - on the northwest, about 5 km long and ending in a rocky an uplift called Zherebchik (1250 m), and another - to the southwest, about 7 km long and ending with the Sinyak rocks (940 m). On the NE from Kaban, at an altitude of 1250-1300 m, there is a long (3 km) saddle, which is a continuation of the main axis of the Iremel massif and connects Bolshoi Iremel with Malyi. It also has two elevations. The first, clearly terraced and aptly called “Zalavok” in the local way. The second uplift is located to the saddle closer to M. Iremel and rises 50 m above it in the form of an elongated rocky hill.

Small Iremel stretches in the latitudinal direction for almost 8 km (Fig. 2). It bears 5 hillside rocky peaks with wall-like rocky outcrops. The central hill rises above 1,400 m, and the western one has a height of 1394 m and is very steep in the western and northern slopes... In the west, the Small Iremel is separated from the northwestern spur of the Big Iremel by a wide intermountain hollow, which is drained by streams feeding the river. On the western spur of the Small Iremel there are wonderful rock towns, outliers, and since there are few visitors, there is an abundance of lingonberries and especially blueberries. On Maly Iremel, mountain terraces, rock towns, outliers, stone taluses, clay spots and stone cauldrons are especially pronounced, and the landscapes of this eight-kilometer spur of the Iremel massif are simply unique.

4. Mountain ranges

In general, the entire mountain group of Iremel has the shape of an oval, elongated along the main axis from NE to SW for 20 km. The western side of the oval is cut by wide hollows between the spurs and represents a double horseshoe. The highest points are represented by rocky outliers.

Most of the individual rocks - remnants rise along the peaks of the Iremel horseshoe and form a kind of rare ridge. The remnants are surrounded, especially from the western side, by stone placers, or rather by heaps of large boulders.

The original and picturesque relief form of Iremel, as well as the ridges of Bakty, Nurgush, Zigalga, Mashak, Yaman-Tau and Avalyak are represented by "rock towns". They are confined to the end sections of the spurs in Iremel.

The rock towns differ from the mountain peaks of Iremel by their sharp dissection, the large relative height of the rocks, and the development of stone chaos at the bases. Like fortresses with loopholes, battlements, towers and bastions, they rise from the coniferous forest with their upper part of the rocks of Sinyak, Suktazh and Zherebchik. There are small areas covered with a powerful cushion of green moss or sod. Rocks reach 40-50 m relative altitude The latter are impassable, and they constitute a large, main part of rocky cities in terms of area. We can say that the rocks only crown this huge chaos.
