We really like it when a blog manages to tell not only about the most outstanding places and sights of cities and countries, but also about the most delicious establishments, since this is a very important part of getting to know the city and culture in general. There have not yet been articles on Poland on Simple + Beyond, but thanks to Victoria Perminova, now we will know exactly where to go to have breakfast in Warsaw!

Warsaw, unlike Krakow or Wroclaw, is not a city spoiled by tourists. As in the business capital, it is more usual to meet business guests here. Of course, there is a tourist part with the old town in Warsaw, but today is not about that. Today about tasty places cities where breakfast is the brightest part of the day.

Warsaw seemed to me to be a city of bun-eaters and breakfast addicts. The bakeries and bakeries here attract vanilla aromas magnetically in the most unexpected places. I'll start with the place that city residents love in the first place - this is Targ Sniadaniowy. The street breakfast market, which takes place every weekend in two parks of the city during the warmer months, brings together a delicious atmosphere of a home and family holiday under open air... This festival is open to everyone, so in addition to the national Polish cuisine, you can buy seasonal farm products, bread and dishes from different cuisines of the world. Everything is preparing, squirt and hiss right on the spot. Burgundy snails or dumpling dumplings, maybe Mexican tacos or pita bread with hummus - all this will be cooked in a matter of minutes before your eyes. If you are more familiar with a croissant, fruit and coffee, then this is enough here. On Sunday in the park of the Mokotów district, and on Saturday in the park near Żoliborz. Grab a blanket and come here for breakfast, which will definitely drag on until lunchtime. There is also plenty to do here besides food: cooking classes and workshops on a variety of topics, or even yoga in the open air. I have a short video about this place on my blog.

Now about the French-inspired Café Charlotte, where you will definitely want to try all the menus. Breakfasts are here all day long, and they are simply created in order to bring aesthetic pleasure, and not only delight the taste buds. Air croissants, homemade jam and chocolate, several breakfast options and of course coffee. The soft light of the morning sun through the large windows, or the warm terrace - all this will so neatly wake you up under a quiet lounge without fuss. I would have breakfast here every day. There are 2 such establishments in the city: Charlotte Menora and Charlotte. Cheb i Wino ". Choose what is closer to your hotel and chill out ...

How about a quiet breakfast on an enclosed patio with small tables at the Nowy Teatr? If you get here on a day without events or open exhibitions, then the huge hall of the former factory with high ceilings and ringing echoes from a whisper will be a cavity at your disposal.

WakeCupCafe is a place where they will prepare a huge portion of cappuccino and treat you with a cheerful smile to boot. The coffee is really delicious here. You can bask in a pumpkin spicy latte in the autumn morning, when wrapped in a warm blanket on the terrace, or work for an hour or two. It's somehow very easy to maintain personal space here, even when all the tables are full. This directly disposes to linger.

Delicious breakfasts in Warsaw!

How much does it cost to spend a weekend in Warsaw on an independent trip, taking into account all travel, accommodation and excursion costs.

Recently, I have often been asked about the cost of my independent travel to Europe without travel agencies. Apparently, the short information at the end of my travel stories is not enough, so I will try to describe it in more detail.

Information will be given for two categories of travel at once - budgetary in the style of students and comfortable for a couple with a child. And one more nuance - we do not count the cost of a visa and the entire calculation will be carried out for leaving Minsk.

The road Minsk - Warsaw - Minsk

There are instructions for all types of transport to Warsaw on this blog, but just below I will make a selection of the most optimal options.

Comfortable option:

The best option is to go directly by bus Minsk-Warsaw. In the evening, departure from Minsk at 19:00, and in the morning at 6:00, arrival in Warsaw and the whole day ahead for sightseeing, or more, depending on how long you want to stay.

If you want to be in time for work on Monday and get some sleep, the return bus leaves on Sunday at 12:00 and already at 0:55 at night you are in Minsk.

  • Tickets on buses Minsk-Warsaw-Minsk are sold.

Anyone who wants to fly to Warsaw with comfort, now in this direction you can pick up enough cheap tickets round trip for 80-90 €. Airplanes arrive at the central airport of Warsaw, so it travels to the city center public transport for 4.4PLN (1 €).

The total cost of round-trip tickets, if you have chosen a bus, is from 40 €, and if you have chosen a plane, then a maximum of 90 € per person.

A budget option:

The cheapest option for 8-10 € involves a change in Grodno and Bialystok (train Minsk-Grodno 2.5 €, minibus Grodno-Bialystok 5 €, bus Bialystok-Warsaw 0.5-2 €). The entire route is described in more detail in the instructions -.

Overnight in Warsaw

In the capital of Poland, I tried a large number of hotels, hostels and apartments. All my experience is described in the story -. To find accommodation, we use a special search engine for a variety of booking sites, for this you just need to enter only the dates you need and click search.

The search engine compares prices for the same hotels and gives you the best result. It's like in the market, if you walk around and ask around, then the same hotel room may differ in cost from different sellers. This search engine will do all the dirty work for you and you just have to take advantage of the best offer.

Comfortable option:

The picture shows a typical example when the same hotel costs differently on different sites. As you can see, the cheapest offer is 25 € for a double room. Considering that this is almost the center of Warsaw, then this great price, because the center is 2 stops by public transport or 5-10 minutes on foot.

A budget option:

For those who want to save money, but without sacrificing comfort, it is worth keeping an eye on. They arrange a sale of their rooms for 9 € per night for a double room.

There are two hotels of this chain in Warsaw, but it will be most convenient for budget tourists. It is conveniently located close to the train station Warszawa Zachodnia from where the budget departs to Bialystok for a few zlotys.

These are chain hotels and therefore all their rooms look almost the same, they are very small, but everything you need - shower, bed, wifi and TV are present. Below are photos of the rooms in which I stayed.

Since we are only coming for 1 weekend with 1 overnight stay, we need a 24-hour travel card for 15PLN. If you are 3-5 people, then it is more profitable to buy Bilet weekendowy for a group of up to 5 people for 40 PLN which is valid from 19:00 Friday to 8:00 Monday.

Although Warsaw is the capital of Poland, the preserved historical part of the city is very small and you can get around it in 1 hour. It is advisable to start the walk from at the end of which it will begin.

If after this walk there is still time and energy left, it is worth going to.

Excursions in Warsaw

This entertainment does not apply to the budget option, but since there is a section for the Comfortable option, it may come in handy for someone.

To move between places of interest, instead of public transport, you can use sightseeing bus for 15 €.

The cheapest excursion in Warsaw costs 30 €, this is a group excursion in Russian. You can book it or by clicking on the ad below.

Summary - Weekend in Warsaw

Comfortable option:

  1. Bus or plane: 40-80 € per person.
  2. Hotel almost in the center of Warsaw 25 € for 2 for 1 day or 12.5 € per person. If you arrive by bus, then you will have 1 day at your disposal, and if by plane then 2 days.
  3. Travel card for 24 hours - 15PLN (3.5 €).
  4. Excursion — 30€.

Total comfortable option from 86 € to 165 €, excluding food costs, as it is very individual.

A budget option:

Here the calculation is shown with maximum savings.

  1. Bus with transfers: 20 € per person.
  2. Hotel according to the special offer 9 € for 2 persons for 1 day or 4.5 € per person.
  3. Travel card for 24 hours - 15PLN (3.5 €).

In total, the budget option is only 28 € per person, excluding food costs.

More for budget option I can advise you to have lunch and dinner in canteens, which in Poland are called Bar Mleczny. Lunch in such places will cost PLN 10-15.

I will not describe the advantages and disadvantages of such a trip, because since you are reading this article, then somehow someone found it and that means you are interested in the topic of how to spend a weekend in Warsaw and how much it costs.

Everyone should come to Warsaw to see all its beauty. The old and the modern are extremely harmoniously mixed in this beautiful city... To inspect at least the very minimum, one day will not be enough.

When planning a trip to the capital of Poland for several days, it is imperative to take care of an overnight stay. The variety of hotels and hotels in Warsaw is simply amazing, and even a little embarrassing. The splendor of the luxurious palace-like hotels is endlessly eye-catching. But not every guest of the capital is able to shell out a tidy sum for one night in one of these palaces.

What to do?

Book a place in the hostel! There are dozens of them in Warsaw, there is plenty to choose from.

Hostel number 1 on our list - Hostel Oki Doki... It is located at: Plac Dabrowskiego 3, Corner of Marszalkowska and Swietokrzyska, Warsaw ; 1.6 km from the city center.

This hostel is interesting in that each room is decorated in its own individual style (African room, birch room, room 1001 hands, room of angels, etc.). The hostel also offers free internet access (wi-fi), towels in the room, free maps city, hairdryer. Breakfast is not included, but you can drink tea and coffee to the fullest.

Price beds in the common room - 27 PLN (6.80 EUR), separate room(per person) - PLN 45 (EUR 11.33).

Cheap hotels and Hostels in Warsaw for 2 people are almost equal in price. What to choose in such a situation? My personal experience.

For all my numerous trips through Warsaw, there were 4 hotels and 3 hostels in which I spent more than 10 nights in total. The list will continue to grow, but for now I will try to give an honest assessment to each of them and write the pros and cons of each.

Warsaw Hotels or Hostels?

Why such a comparison of Hostels or Hotels? Now the average cost of a 2-bed room in a budget hotel in Warsaw is about 20-30 €, and the cost of two beds in a hostel is 15-25 €. The difference is not very big and it seems that with such a small difference, the choice should be in favor of the hotel, but it's all about small details.

  1. Budget hotels are usually located far from the center and it takes about 30-60 minutes to get to them, while there are hostels in Warsaw at reasonable prices in the very center.
  2. Transfer cost to the hotel. In Warsaw, public transport is very well developed and there seems to be no problem in getting to the hotel, but coming and leaving the hotel is about 5 € for 2 more. In total, the difference with hostels in price increases even more.

CONCLUSIONS: What conclusions have I come to after all these trips and how I would have done now. Perhaps this will be common truth, but in my case I had to learn from my own experience.

  1. If you come to Warsaw as a tourist to visit the Sights of Warsaw, then the best choice will book a hotel a few months before the trip for a promotion for 9-20 € and buy a public transport pass for a few days.
  2. If you use Warsaw as a transit point, then most of the cheap flights from Modlin Airport or Chopin Airport are very inconvenient. Departure from Warsaw usually takes place in the early morning, and arrivals in the late evening, and in both options, overnight stay in the city is inevitable. In this case, I don't want to overpay for a few hours of sleep, and a hostel would be the best choice.

Warsaw hostels

At the very beginning of my travels, I only stayed in hostels, and there was a very good reason for this, they cost me a maximum of 1 €, and sometimes they got it for free. Such a cholava lasted about 2 years while the Airbnb accommodation booking service gained its popularity and distributed it without a minimum booking amount.

Now that my free time is over, I use special search engines that compare prices for the same hostel or hotel and offer a website where it can be booked for a lower price without sacrificing comfort. Here is one of them.

  • Price for 1 night: from 7 € for 1 person;
  • Address: Aleja Wyzwolenia, 10/127;
  • Check-in: from 14:00, departure: until 11:00.

The hostel fully justifies its high marks. The kitchen was fully equipped, good repairs in the toilet and bathroom, the administrator checked us in late enough, showed and explained everything. Two guest workers with terrible snoring and fumes throughout the room upset the stay here.

Advantages:

  • Close to Warszawa Centrum, 10 minutes on foot;
  • Fast WiFi and sockets on almost every bed;
  • Easy to get to Warszawa Zachodnia directly on buses 159, 188 and 523.

Disadvantages:

  • There are only 2 en-suite bathrooms for the entire hostel, so get ready to queue up in the morning.
  • There is no direct transport to the airport, you have to walk 10 minutes to Warszawa Centrum or go with a transfer.

  • Price for 1 night: from 8 € for 1 person;
  • Address: Lechicka 23B;
  • Check-in: from 12:00, departure: until 11:00.

The hostel is very new, when I stayed in it, the renovation was just finished, and this was both a plus and a minus: it had just opened, so it was empty and I got a whole room of 4 beds, but there were no such trifles as hooks in the bathroom , rugs, curtains and other attributes of the habitable place. The owner was pleased with almost the only guests and offered to meet them directly from the train from Modlin airport.

Advantages:

  • Not popular, but convenient location, so the rooms are often empty. Near railway station Warszawa Rakowiec, and this allows you to get to Chopin Airport in 10 minutes, or go to Modlin Airport by KM train. A direct tram runs to the center in 20 minutes.
  • Easy to get to Warszawa Zachodnia direct train connections.
  • The owner and administrator speaks Russian and is very helpful.

Disadvantages:

  • Only one, and it was written about it above, the hostel is not inhabited. In the bathtub, due to the lack of a hanger or at least hooks, there is simply nowhere to put things.

  • Price for 1 night: from 8 € for 1 person;
  • Address: ul. Chmielna 5/7;
  • Check-in: from 15:00, departure: until 11:00.

This hostel is perfect value for money / location / quality except for two minor flaws.

This is a real youth place and the spirit of the hostel can be felt from the entrance - a company was sitting in one corner and playing a guitar, in the other room there was a competition on a game console. There is a workplace, or rather even a whole computer with Internet access.

At first, I thought that I would not be able to sleep because of this movement, but no one was going to the rooms until the morning, everyone was walking somewhere. In addition to this, I got an almost empty 10-bed room, although a 12-bed room was booked, but most likely they simply do not have such rooms and this is a mistake on booking sites, because very often there are reviews that they book a 12-seater, and get 8 or 10 seaters.

Advantages:

  • The location is less than 5 minutes walk to Warszawa Centrum, there is no waste of time both with late check-in and early check-out.
  • You can go directly to the airports and almost anywhere in Warsaw.
  • Fast WiFi, friendly staff.

Disadvantages:

  • If you need a towel, it costs 5PLN, as well as a deposit of 50PLN or 10 per key.
  • The men's and women's bath and toilet are located in different blocks, it is nearby, but you have to take the keys with you to get to another block.

Budget Hotels in Warsaw

When I stopped working for booking hostels and apartments, I had no choice but to use the services of hotels. And here a very pleasant surprise awaited me, it turns out that in Warsaw, and in many cities in Poland, you can book a double room in Ibis Budget hotels for only 9 €.

This is not always possible and only for certain dates, but Ibis Budget opens such sales for whole months. There will be first reviews about 2 hotels of this chain in Warsaw.

  • Price for 1 night:
  • Address: Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920, 16;
  • Check-in: from 12:00, departure: until 12:00.

Stayed at this hotel more than once due to the low price and ideal location near the train station Warszawa Zachodnia. From here in the morning you can go both to Chopin and Modlin airports, and to Bialystok by buses for only a couple of € 0.5.

Usually this hotel costs 20 €, but sales of Ibis Budget hotels in Poland often take place. last sale of rooms for 9 € for a year in advance. The rooms in the hotel, although not large, are always clean and newly renovated, as well as always fast WiFi.

Advantages:

  • Almost always the most cheap price in the city for a double room;
  • Convenient location near the train station Warszawa Zachodnia ;
  • Always clean and new rooms with fast WiFi.

Disadvantages:

  • Only one minor - it may seem to someone that the rooms are cramped, but for 9 € you can ignore it.

  • Price for 1 night: from 9 € for a double room, average price 20€;
  • Address: Zagorna 1;
  • Check-in: from 12:00, departure: until 12:00.

This is a hotel from the same Ibis Budget chain as the previous one, but it is located closer to The old place. This hotel is more suitable for exploring Warsaw than for transit. from it it takes longer to get to airports and train stations. Everything else is the same as in the previous hotel.

  • Price for 1 night: from 20 to 40 € for a double room, the average price is 25-30 €;
  • Address: Aleja Krakowska 193;
  • Check-in: from 14:00, departure: until 12:00.

This hotel cost me 30 € for two, but its cost very often drops to 20 €, but not on the day when it was necessary to urgently find a hotel near Chopin airport. The hotel that day cost about 50-60 € per night, but using the application managed to save 25 $, now this discount does not work.

Advantages:

  • The hotel is located a 20-30 minute brisk walk from Chopin Airport and with an early departure you can save on transfers.
  • The center can be reached directly by tram 7 and 9 in 25 minutes.
