What is mined in the Yamantau mountain. What is Yamantau Mountain really hiding? Geography of Mount Yamantau and climatic conditions

The most interesting and attractive places for humans were created by nature itself. See intact scenic spots, walk under the shade of a dense forest and feel so small next to the majestic mountain ranges- such leisure will please the most sophisticated traveler. In the very heart of the Urals there is Mount Yamantau - one of the most beautiful and desirable places for hikers. This is a recognized Ural pearl with a giant dome and an incredibly mysterious history.

The name of the Yamantau mountain in Russian can be translated as "evil mountain". The very designation given once to the mountain range of the South Ural Reserve by local residents suggests that Yamantau is shrouded in speculation and riddles.

Mount Yamantau - the highest point South Urals, 1638 meters above sea level. It is located on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the Beloretsk region, at the intersection of the Bolshoi and Maly Inzer rivers. 10 km from the massif there is the Maly Yamantau peak with a height of 1512.7 meters.

The mountain consists entirely of large stones, the road to the top passes through the forest, which ends at an altitude of about 1000 meters. The rest of the way is made up of massive stones. From a distance, the mountain looks like a symmetrical dome, next to which a smaller peak is visible.

To the west of the foot of Yamantau Mountain, about 10 km, is located closed city Mizhgirya. Travelers wishing to climb the summit enter from the side of the Mashak ridge. On this road, there is almost no danger of meeting the military, who are guarding the inner part of the mountain - presumably the city of Solnechny.

Between Big Yamantau and the neighboring peak there is a picturesque saddle with lush vegetation and wild blueberries. From the saddle, you can see a large depression resembling a ditch, which is located on the Yamantau slope right in the rocks. Its origin is unknown.

Around mountain range there is a power line, it is very convenient for travelers who want to conquer the heights of Mount Yamantau. You can leave your backpacks under the power line and climb.

The entrance to the territory of the reserve, where Mount Yamantau is located, is not so easy for ordinary travelers to find. On their way, there may be many gamekeepers who keep order and have the right to expel the traveler from the territory.

At the foot of the mountain there will be an entire mining and processing complex with a dedicated road and rail entrance to the ground. This complex is served by the closed city of Mizhgirya with a population of 16,000. It is unknown what is inside the mountain, around this riddle walks a large number of rumors and conjectures.

Near the place where Mount Yamantau is located, there is a narrow P316 highway, on which the driver needs to show all his professionalism. There are many cliffs on the track, bridges over mountain rivers are in a half-broken state. The likelihood of an emergency on this road also increases - just one car can stop the movement of all cars on the highway. You can walk from the trail to the foot of the mountain, but this will require some knowledge of landmarks in the taiga.

Remains can be found at the top of Yamantau helipad, destroyed barracks, other traces of the presence of the military, who were at the top until the 90s. In the center of the moss-overgrown plateau, there is a concrete obelisk in memory of the soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War.

From the top of Yamantau, the South Ural is visible at a glance. The mountain offers an overview of the Nara, Mashak, Bolshoi Shelom and other mountains.

Riddles and legends

Many locals believe that the name of the mountain did not come from the difficulty of its ascent or the heavy fog around it, which complicates the release of livestock to pasture. They believe that the souls of evil virgins live in the fog, taking away tired travelers who have the imprudence to climb to the top. This version is supported by several real stories about the missing travelers and their horses that died from unclear reasons.

The most famous rumor, in which the Bashkir population believes, is associated with a character in local mythology. According to the ancient belief, the hero Shulgan represented evil forces on earth, through the Kapavu cave on the mountain he took living people to his underground kingdom, turning them into the ghosts of Yamantau. So the mountain began to be considered a gloomy portal between parallel worlds and was afraid.

In the late 90s, the first rumors appeared about a mysterious construction site in the Ural Mountains. The first sources of this information were the American press. The New York Times reported that Russia has begun building a giant military complex underground. The purpose of the complex remained open to question - arguments were made in favor of a bunker, a repository of state values, a repository of mined ore. A highway and railway lines were connected to the complex inside the mountain from the nearest town of Beloretsk (present-day ZATO Mizhgirya).

On behalf of an unknown builder, information appeared about an underground facility, which was built in the Soviet years under the control of the Ministry of Defense. In 2002, the largest construction campaign came to an end, since that time the visits of representatives of the Russian government to Bashkortostan have become more frequent. The underground city has all the conditions for life - communications, infrastructure. Accommodation in the complex is designed for about 300 thousand people, you can stay in it for up to 6 months without going to the surface.

There was no official statement from the country's government regarding the designation of the protected underground complex of Mount Yamantau. There is a version that this data is classified, and a large number of the military really guard an industrial or research facility of national importance.

Peculiarities of climbing the mountain

It is quite difficult to get to the territory of the reserve where Mount Yamantau is located. The secret zone of the closed city of Mizhgirya, which is guarded by people in uniform, is regularly thoroughly searched, travelers can be stopped at any time to check their documents and even not allowed into the territory.

The most stubborn travelers climb the mountain through the villages of Kuzelga and Tatly, which are located in the direction of Beloretsk. This path does not touch forbidden areas, there is no risk of meeting the military. Also, a safe route to Yamantau on the map is laid from the eastern side of the mountain, through the village of Nura. The southern part is completely covered with swamps, so this road is closed to humans.

Despite the mystical rumors associated with this place in the Urals, Yamantau Mountain is a favorite place for mountain conquerors. Having carefully prepared for the trip to the top, having taken care of safety and having studied the road, you can climb to a height without any special difficulties and feel the whole beauty of the world lying under your feet.

And the Republic of Bashkortostan in particular, its height is slightly more than 1640 m.

View of the western slope of Yamantau from the Nara ridge

origin of name

Literally translated from the Bashkir "Yaman" is bad (evil / bad), "Tau" is a mountain. There are quite a few options why the mountain is called that. According to one version, a large number of bears live around the mountain, which in turn caused a lot of problems for local residents. This is really so: the area is strewn with footprints, droppings, and mountain meadows are pretty trampled. According to another version, due to the steep slopes of the mountain with large quantity kurumnnik and swamps, which did not allow cattle to graze, which led to the appearance of such a name.

But in my opinion, the mountain got its name due to a combination of factors. This is a large number of wild animals, and a difficult slope, and a rather closed location of the mountain - it is like a traitor in the center of a round dance, and difficult-to-pass taiga around, and snow that does not melt until August on the northern side of the mountain, and rapidly changing weather ...

Description of the area where Yamantau Mountain is located

Yamantau is located on the territory of the South Ural Nature Reserve in the Beloretsk District of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Getting into its territory is officially quite problematic. But even if everything goes well, there are very few options for routes - like types of sausage during perestroika, that is, very few, and you will not find Yamantau on that list.

To the west of the mountain is the Nara ridge, from the north - the Mashak ridge, in the east - the Kumardak ridge and from the south the Beliatur and Yusha ridges. Mount Yamantau itself is comfortably located in the center between these ridges, for reliability, it is also protected from the outside world by the Bolshoy and Maly Inzer rivers, which originate on the eastern and western sides, respectively, from the slopes highest point South Urals.

To the south of the mountain there is a city - ZATO Mizhgirya, which is a closed city. This city became closed due to a large secret construction project that began in the 80s of the XX century.

And if we add up all the above facts, putting the latter at the head, we conclude that Mount Yamantau is closed for visits by ordinary tourists-uralovednikov.

Mount Yamantau

Mount Yamantau is a mountain with two peaks - Big Yamantau (1640.4 m) and Small Yamantau (1512.7 m). Both peaks are plateaus, each of which has a significant area and flat relief.

Up to a mark of 1000 - 1100 m from sea level, the slopes of the mountain are covered with mixed forest, in places with windbreaks, in places with alpine meadows and rocky outcrops. Above 1100 m, the slopes consist of a bunch of grass of various sizes, diluted with grass with flowers and moss, trees and bushes in any of their manifestations are absent.

Yamantau city. Hillside.

At the top you can find several springs with small lakes around you, but these are not all the finds and interesting things that can be contemplated at the top of the mountain. On the upper plateau, many human waste products are scattered - scrap metal, timber, remnants of a water supply system, a couple of small concrete foundations, a concrete helipad, wires and other construction rubbish, which, on the one hand, add charm to this place, and on the other hand, leave from contemplation of the beautiful light bitterness sediment.

Yamantau city. Peak.

Where did the trash come from at the top of Yamantau and what is so secret going on at this point in the Urals?

There are a lot of versions on the Internet about this. Personally, I counted a dozen versions of what is in / under this mountain, and each next version is even more amazing than the last: from a large military warehouse to a government bunker with a nuclear missile control center. Unfortunately, there is no answer to this question in our article, but there is no doubt that in the 1990s and 2000s serious construction activities were carried out in / on / around / near Yamantau.

How to get and visit Yamantau Mountain?

Yamantau is located 230 km in a straight line southeast of the city of Ufa and 50 km northwest of Beloretsk. You can get there by car to ZATO Mizhgirya, however, it is necessary to have special permit- pass. And even if you find yourself in the city, you can leave its territory only along the road on which you arrived. Another way is excluded, because the area is patrolled by both local huntsmen and the military, who are well trained in catching in the local forests those who should not be there.

But don't be upset! There are some great and beautiful places, from which you can contemplate Yamantau, for example, the Karatash ridge (better known as the Aigir place, by the name railway station in the Beloretsk district, near the village of Inzer), which can be reached by a regular train from Beloretsk or from Ufa.

A secret base of the Russian government was discovered in the mountains of the Southern Urals, not far from the Abzakovo ski center, where Russian President Vladimir Putin is a frequent visitor. There are a lot of rumors around the mountain bunker, and even residents of nearby settlements do not really know what kind of facilities have been built in the mountains since the days of the Cold War

At the beginning of the new, 21st century, Russian President Vladimir Putin became a frequent visitor to the Yuzhnouralsk ski resort"Abzakovo", located about 60 km from Magnitogorsk. Neither Putin himself nor his aides were able to explain to the public why the head of state chose this place. Officially, Putin liked to ski there. But there is also an unofficial version. So, the president came to supervise the completion of the construction of a secret underground city located in the very high mountain South Ural massif - Yamantau (translated from Bashkir - "bad head", height 1640 m).

On one side, the mountain is located on the territory of the South Ural state reserve(they say that the reserve was established there not by chance). But not only huntsmen, but also the military are patrolling the vicinity of Yamantau.

“In the area of the Yamantau special facility, you must be careful not to make noise, not to make smoky fires and not to betray your presence in any other bad way. Otherwise, you risk getting acquainted with the life and traditions of the special forces, giving them the footage (money, knife, cigarettes), hoarse, proving that you are not a spy, and if in the end you are still released or handed over to the rangers (and not shot) , you will still be sincerely grateful to them.

Yamantau is a huge rocky plateau with a small pile of rocky outliers in the center. “At the top until the early 90s. there was a military unit serving a concreted helipad and military special equipment. The Yamantau facility has a high-security status - this is a fact !!!

It remains only to note that, as the Americans themselves are sure, the object

this one is a military one, and similar "construction sites of the century" in Russia, in general, are still

did not end well ...

In Mount Yamantau, not mines were built, but a real underground city.

Indeed, the construction of an underground base in Mount Yamantau began in the Soviet years, during the Cold War. The facility was designed and built by the Construction Directorate-30, subordinate to the Ministry of Defense. The department is based in the closed city of Mizhgirya (formerly Beloretsk-16, also called the city of Solnechny). The Construction Department-30 specializes in the construction of facilities and structures for underground and surface placement, conducts large-sized underground construction: in this area, US-30 is one of the largest construction organizations.

Work on the construction of the underground city was completed around 2002 (just at the time of Putin's frequent visits to Abzakovo). Since then, constant work has been carried out to maintain the complex (hence the increased security of the territory). An offshoot has been brought to Mount Yamantau railroad... A motor road has been launched from Magnitogorsk.

The city in the mountain is designed for the simultaneous residence of 300 thousand people (for example, 400 thousand people live in Magnitogorsk, and 1.5 million in Yekaterinburg).

“In the underground complex, which is divided into so-called“ houses ”, all the necessary infrastructure has been created: communications have been installed, life support systems have been established.

The public learned about Mount Yamantau in 1996, after the publication of an article in The New York Times about a secret military base located inside one of the largest Ural mountains... According to rumors, a giant bunker is located in the rocky massif, in which the Government and the President of the Russian Federation will be located after the start of a nuclear war ...

The author of the article cited arguments according to which the construction was of a very large-scale and extremely secret nature, moreover, it was partially financed from subsidies allocated to the Russian government in the early 90s, as they say, to "support the pants." The American journalist was surprised by the fact that the construction was launched at the time of the most severe economic crisis that hit the Russian economy: there was not enough money for basic social obligations, but despite all the difficulties, funds for the construction of the secret facility were allocated in the required amount!

According to the published information, the secret complex was located in the bowels of the Yamantau mountain, located in the Beloretsk region of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and was of an exclusively military nature. In a short time, military builders cut through the inside of the mountain, as well as in the adjacent underground space, a real "uly", which included several underground floors, a narrow-gauge railway line and even your own motorway!

Comparing all the facts and speculations, the American journalist summed up the essence of his publication to the fact that the Russians are again preparing for the "cold war", which they plan to unleash in the very near future, and the object in Mount Yamantau will be used by the top officials of the state if the degree of tension warms up the conflict to exchange of nuclear strikes.

Later, on the basis of this article, several myths associated with Yamantau were developed. For example, the most popular rumors were that there was a kind of "ark for the golden billion" located inside the mountain, where, with the beginning of major cataclysms, they would hide strongest of the world this, and with the coming to power of V.V. Putin's object began to be called his personal bunker. The mystery of this whole story is also added by the fact that none of ordinary mortals knows the true purpose of the object, since access to the mountain is blocked by security units, and close to the mountain there is a closed town “Mizhhirya” (closed city).

The territory outside the ZATO perimeter belongs to the South Ural Reserve, the entrance to which is strictly prohibited under the pretext of conservation and recreation of rare species of plants and animals, although this circumstance is quite a typical task of such institutions. Nevertheless, individual citizens manage to make their way to the mountain and even climb to its top.

However, after assessing the conditions for the location of Mount Yamantau and the logistics infrastructure in its vicinity, the myth that in the event of martial law the Government Facility No. 1 will be located here seems rather strange.

First you need to decide that it is unlikely that the construction of any object, moreover, it does not matter whether it is a shelter or some command center, can occur directly in the mountain itself, that is, in the rock mass. It would be logical to assume that by analogy with similar, but more popularized mega-fortifications, the mountain performs the function of a kind of screen, while the building itself is located under the mountain. In this connection, the calculations of the dimensions of the hidden habitable chamber are in no way related to the total volume of Yamantau, while in some sources a direct parallel is drawn between the volume of the rock mass and the estimated dimensions of the bunker.

According to the myth of a government bunker, during a period when the country will be engulfed in the chaos of war or, equally worse, will be covered with nuclear ash, from somewhere in the bowels of Yamantau, the Government of the Russian Federation will communicate with the remaining defense forces, as well as civilian enterprises... However, this version, given several circumstances, can hardly be considered objective.

First, in the conditions of a modern military conflict, the forces of our "overseas partners", who are still considered a strategic enemy, are capable of destroying a bunker hidden even by such a massive mountain as Yamantau. According to some estimates, a few point strikes with warheads with a force of a hundred kilotons will be enough to break through the rock mass and bring down the internal tunnel network, which will lead to the impossibility of operating such an object, and will absolutely endanger the lives of the top officials of the state. If we consider the actions of the Western coalition on the example of Afghanistan, where followers of terrorist organizations take refuge in complex, but less technologically advanced bunkers located in the depths of the mountains, it becomes obvious that a bunker in a rock mass does not guarantee the safety of the lives of its inhabitants.

For example, last year, the US Air Force used the most powerful non-nuclear bomb in service with the US Army, GBU-43, during an operation against terrorists from the ISIS organization banned in Russia, which took place in Afghanistan near the province of Nangarhar. The result of the operation was the complete destruction of a developed network of underground communications in one of the mountains. After being hit by a 9.5 ton shell, the explosion was estimated at 11 tons of TNT equivalent, the object was destroyed.

Secondly, the removal of the center from Yamantau will not allow the first person of the state to urgently get inside the shelter. It will take at least two hours to fly from Moscow to the South Urals, and the nearest airport in Magnitogorsk will be able to take the presidential board from which it will take another 20-30 minutes to fly by helicopter. In conditions when it becomes known about a sudden (!) Nuclear strike in a maximum of half an hour to evacuate the President through half the country, it seems not quite a rational idea. Even Stalin's headquarters, in case the Germans occupied Moscow, was located in Samara, which is much closer to the center than Yamantau. In addition, you need to understand that the asylum of the top officials of the state should be secret, and not so popular that even an American newspaper publishes a note about a “secret” asylum. After all, what's the point in such a bunker, if in the event of a conflict this object will become one of the first and most important goals of our "overseas partners".

Thirdly, the location of the mountain can hardly be called successful in terms of organizing a mass evacuation. Since in the event that emergency measures are initiated, in addition to the President, many other specialists must enter the bunker together with their loved ones. Delivery by air is unlikely to be widespread, so most of will have to proceed to the shelter by land transport.

Section of the route "Mother-in-law's language"

Once again, we face unsolvable difficulties. The territory of Yamantau can be reached only by a single two-lane road, periodically turning into a serpentine. I think that there is no need to explain once again that in the event of a sharp increase in road traffic, this section of the route will simply be blocked by cars due to the congestion that has arisen, and the organization of the delivery of valuable specialists will be in jeopardy. As for the railway line, at the present time the line is not functioning and it will be quite problematic to launch it urgently, since on some of its sections there are no rails: it is unclear whether this state of the line is another "strategic trick" or who then from local residents it was banal to hurry up by handing over a section of the railway line to a ferrous metals collection point.

The railway junction to Yamantau is difficult to call "inhabited"

Of course, there may be some alternative railway line to the secret object, but since nothing is known about such elements of the transport infrastructure, then this option should not be referred to as a way to solve the transport issue.

So what is the true purpose and purpose of the object under Yamantau? Of course, we will not find out the exact answer, but it is obvious that the President of Russia is unlikely to hide here. However, there are also enough alternative versions, for example, there is an assumption that this object is used as one of the operational control centers for the automatic launch of nuclear missiles, within the framework of the retaliatory strike project - "Perimeter" ("Dead Hand"). The fact that this object could be part of a secret program is evidenced by the fact that a military unit was located near the mountain until 1994, apparently belonging to the Strategic Missile Forces, since on its territory curious tourists were able to find several flooded missile silos! Now only a few buildings remain from the military unit. In addition to messages from tourists on the Internet in various forums and in groups social networks sometimes messages slip through from the face of soldiers who once served near the secret mountain. In their messages, former servicemen share information about their participation in the construction of certain objects, which, in their opinion, looked like launching shafts.

According to another version, a secret research institute or a site for long-term storage of something explosive is located under the mountain. In this case, the mountain in this case is a kind of protective screen and in the event of an emergency situation, the massive Yamantau will extinguish the shock wave.

Answering the question indicated in the title of this material, we can assume that all the stories about "Putin's bunker" inside Mount Yamantau are nothing more than a myth. The mountain itself, most likely, is part of the defense complex, and since this territory is still burdened with the status of a regime object, then about the exact purpose of the very " mysterious mountain“We are unlikely to recognize the South Urals in the near future.

On the territory of our Motherland, there are many similar objects about most of which you and I, the inhabitants, simply do not know anything. With the help of classified enterprises and elements of the country's defense system, the state ensures our security with you. So the control over such objects is very serious, and any attempt to penetrate the operating secret and secure enterprises for the sake of curiosity can entail not only administrative responsibility, but also become a reason tragic death a curious stalker, because, as you know, the charter of the guard service allows the use of firearms against violators of the regime of admission to a protected object.

Route: Bridge across the Narka River - Yamantau - Bridge across the Narka River

Participants: Andrey REW

The idea to visit B. Yamantau appeared almost two years ago, and only recently it was realized. I studied the maps, routes and reviews of those who had visited in advance, prepared points for GPS ... As a result, when there were a few days of my two-week vacation, I quickly got ready for noon and ...

1. The main goal is to visit B. Yamantau.

2. The composition of the group - I am alone :-)

3. Equipment - a light tent, maps (kilometers), GPS with basic points laid, a headlamp, an Ermak backpack with a machine tool, and of course food, clothes, matches, first aid kit ...

4. Difficulties - not to be caught by two-legged animals :-), the cell phone does not catch there (at least MTS and BASHEL).

05/31/2007 by bus at 9:00 southern bus station I drive to Ufa before turning to Mizhgirya, where I leave at about 14:00. Then I walk straight along the highway, stop the passing nine, the friendly driver willingly gave me a lift to the bridge across the river (before reaching the mountain 1171.9 m "Karatash" or "Medvezhka" as the driver called it). This is about 3 km before the checkpoint, then there is a risk of getting caught by the military.

From the road to the east, bypassing the mountain, first along a country road, then on the map and navigator about 1 km north of the "Satra" tract (mowing). Then to the northeast to the pass between the "bear" (1171.9 m) and the top of 1052 m, I cross the high-voltage power line. Further, almost directly in the direction of the saddle between Bol. And Mal. Yamantau on the north-western slope of the massif on which the "Bykovskie glades" (mowing) are located. Along the way, I climb one of the peaks, a rock with a height of a little over 1000m (out of sports interest :-)). As a result, on May 31, at about 22:00, I was in one of the glades about 2.5 km from the peak of B. Yamantau and at about the same distance from the pass between the peaks, the height is slightly more than 900 m.

There is no strength to go further, I put up a tent, lie down a little, dinner with dry rations (it is unsafe to make a fire and there is no strength already). It was very hot to go during the day! Fortunately, there were constantly streams, springs, rivers with the purest cold water, the quality of which was beyond doubt :-). It was cold at night, I had to put on everything and additionally cover myself with a film :-) - it turned out to be tolerable.

In the morning I woke up at 6:00, breakfast (dry rations), once again I check the map and decide to go on light, leave the tent and "excess". Almost immediately, stone taluses (kurums) begin and it was necessary to make our way over the stones almost all the way. Snow still lay on the slopes in many places. I reached the top at about 9:00. It's cold, the wind is almost blowing, the top is in the clouds - visibility is no more than 20 ... 30 meters.

I stayed for about half an hour, looked at the inscriptions on the stone of past visitors, examined the remnants of the helipad and the waste of the military, a couple of craters from explosions with small lakes pure water, took pictures, put the camera down on a tripod, took off himself (for the story :-)) and got ready for the return trip.

At about 11:00 I was near the tent, lunch (also dry rations) for half an hour of rest and I'm going on my way back. I decided to go back to the south through the "Bykovskie Polyany" by a country road - it turned out to be much easier to go. In the middle of the glades I found an empty barrack with and other summer buildings with remnants of military activity (abandoned boots, 2-tier bunks, inscriptions in the spirit of DMB ...). After the glades, the lane "went" in an unnecessary direction and in front of the "bear" I again walk along the navigator and the map, check with the memorized points and the track.

By the evening the weather changed abruptly, first thunderstorm and downpour, then just continuous rain. By 21:00 on June 1, 2007, I went back to the highway (the bridge is the beginning of the route), absolutely wet, changed into a relatively dry one, went out onto the road and went back to the Beloretskaya highway. Almost immediately the Muscovite stopped and at 22:00 was already at a stop at the turn to Mizhgirya (lucky again, friendly driver :-)). About 40 minutes later (luck was again) a KAMAZ stopped, which took me to Ufa, then took a taxi and on 2.06.2007 at about 3:00 am I was at home!

5. Results - the main goal has been achieved + a lot of impressions which will last for a long time, the total path from the track to the track on foot was about 60 km, the duration was within 34 hours (not counting the time on the bus and hitchhiking).

6. Disadvantages - now I know how to get through easier and easier (not much, but still).

7. Negative consequences - I found out at home that I came with a tick (I drink iodantipyrine, while everything is ok), and powerful calluses on my feet (shoes were not the best for this.

P.S. already thinking where else to go :-)? And yet - I have not seen bears, although everyone with whom I talked about this topic was scared by them!

Overlaid track:
