Sunny Tenerife - one of the most cosmopolitan resorts in Spain - is located in the central part of the Canary Islands archipelago. This is the most big Island an archipelago offering relaxation for all tastes throughout the year (the air temperature here never drops below +20 ° C). Since Tenerife is an island, you can get here, respectively, only by air or water. The first option is direct or connecting flights provided by many airlines in the world, and the second is a ferry from mainland Spain.

By plane

There are two airports on the island - in the north and south of Tenerife. From Russia you will fly to Tenerife South Airport, and if the flight is from mainland Spain or other islands of the Canary archipelago, then to the North. From Moscow Domodedovo to Tenerife, you can fly directly in just 7 hours by flights of Aeroflot, UTair and VIM-Avia airlines. Another option is connecting flights, they are provided by Air Berlin, S7 Airlines, Iberia, Vueling, Alitalia, Air Europa, KLM, British Airways and others. A round-trip ticket in economy class from Moscow to Tenerife will cost about 560-600 EUR, for additional comfort in business class you will have to pay more.

Prices on the page are for September 2018.

If you are traveling in Spain and suddenly decide to visit Tenerife, it will be most convenient to use the same flight, for example, from Barcelona.

How to get to the resorts

The airports and main resorts of the island - Las Americas and Puerto de la Cruz - are connected by bus service. At the parking lot of the southern air hub, routes No. 111, 343, 415, 450, 711 are waiting for passengers, No. 102, 107, 108, 343 run from the northern one. Travel cards, including BonoVia, are sold at airports, the cost of a single ticket is 9-12 EUR depending on the destination. Public transport can also deliver from one airport door to another.

A taxi ride is not the most budgetary option, it will cost 27-65 EUR.

If you have already decided to rent a car to move around the island, everything is very simple - the car will already be waiting at the airport gate.

Test: 11 Difficult Questions for Tourists About Spain | Try to answer all of them:

On a ferryboat

For those who are afraid to fly, a ferry is provided - on it you can get to Tenerife from the Andalusian city of Cadiz (south-west of Spain). Ocean transport is provided by Acciona Trasmediterranea and the ferry departs from the Port of Cadiz several times a week. Of course, this pleasure is not too cheap (160-650 EUR for a round-trip ticket), and the travel time will take more than a day, but in any case, this is an alternative.

There are connections by water with other islands of the Canary archipelago - here the flights are operated by the shipping companies Naviera Armas, Fred Olsen Express and Garajonay Express. There is no need to book ferry tickets in advance - it is enough to arrive at the port about an hour before departure, there are almost always free seats. You can even transport a car on the ferry if you travel in this way, but you need to pay extra for this pleasure.

In October, we flew in a large company to Tenerife. It was decided by a general vote that we are not going anywhere in July, August, September, we are planning a vacation for November. Then we decided not to lie to ourselves: we can't stand it until November, so we fly to Tenerife on our own in October. In the summer, crowds of people are everywhere, prices are raised, heat and many, many delights of rest during the peak season. As they say, I used to love summer and the sun, but when I learned that summer can come at any time of the year, now I love money.

At first there were thoughts of Thailand or Vietnam. Then about Italy and Switzerland. Every day, coming to work, Irka and I discussed different options where we would fly to have a rest in October. We have “visited” almost all countries of the world.

But everything worked out by itself. In June, we saw an acceptable price for a flight from Iberia to Tenerife and decided - we should take it.

So to organize independent travel there are a few steps to take in Tenerife.

Buy air tickets to Tenerife
Read the information about the country, understand where it is better to book a hotel (IMHO, this must be done in any case, even if you buy package tour). Choose the sights that you definitely want to visit.
Book a hotel or apartment in Tenerife
Make a visa to Spain
Choose how to get from Tenerife airport: transfer, bus, taxi
Car rental in Tenerife or excursions in Tenerife

Now let's deal with each point of organizing an independent trip to Tenerife in more detail.

Step 1. Buy air tickets to Tenerife

You can fly to Tenerife from Moscow on your own in two ways.

Direct flight to Tenerife

If you are interested in a direct flight, then you should look at the offers of Transaero and Aeroflot. The cost of the flight seems to me completely unhuman, from 30,000 rubles. On the same flights, people who bought tickets from tour operators will fly with you.

Here is the schedule of flights to Tenerife with Transaero (see the schedule on the Transaero website).

From the schedule it is clear that they fly to Tenerife not often, in general, once a week. Therefore, you can relax in Tenerife for a multiple of a week.

The schedule of regular flights to Tenerife with Aeroflot can be viewed here: http://www.aeroflot.ru/cms/time_table/search

Aeroflot operates flights on Tuesdays and Fridays, the flight takes about 7 hours.

Prices, on regular flights without transfers, bite, so we decided to fly to Tenerife with a transfer.

Air flight to Tenerife with a transfer with a European airline

More and more Russians are realizing that it is much more profitable to fly with a transfer than to shake a charter for big money. In Tenerife with a transfer in Madrid, you can fly with an airline Iberia(transfer in Madrid), AirEurope(transfer in Madrid) or VuelingAirlines(transfer in Barcelona). The list of flights will also include an S7 with a transfer, but these are always combined flights with Iberia. If the ticket price for S7 and Iberia is insignificant, then take the S7, because they are refundable.

There is another option to fly to Tenerife cheaply.

There is a great budget (low fire) Ryanair selling tickets between European cities at low prices. Do not think that low-fire flies on bad airplanes, Ryanair has new aircraft. Low prices due to the lack of any service - only the flight (luggage is paid, seats on the plane can be selected in advance only for money, food and drinks are paid, etc.). Unfortunately, Ryanair does not fly from Russia, but why don't we use its services anyway? We just need to buy cheap ticket before any European city from where flights to Tenerife are low-fire and that's it. There are almost always cheap air tickets from Moscow to Dusseldorf (AirBerlin, Lufthansa), Berlin (AirBerlin, Lufthansa, Aeroflot), Stockholm (Sass, Aeroflot), Oslo (Sass, Aeroflot) and Milan Bergamo (Italian low-fire AirDolomiti). The cost of a ticket from Moscow is from 5,000 rubles round trip. From all these cities, Ryanair flies to Tenerife, the cost is from 25 euros and more one way. Thus, a ticket to Tenerife can be very cheap, plus, you can leave yourself a couple of days to walk around the city through which you fly. Of course, you can look for other options, I just gave examples.

Well, my last option, how you can get to Tenerife, is to catch a cheap ticket to Madrid or Barcelona, and then buy a ticket to the island (by the way, not necessarily Tenerife) from the same Reanair, Iberia, Vueling Airlines, AirEurope. This option is suitable for those who want to combine a vacation on the islands with a walk in Barça or Madrid. In this way, I will soon fly to Fuertoventura and Lanzaroti: 4 days in Madrid and a week on the islands.

By choosing the connecting flight option, you get cheap air ticket in Tenerife, from 15,000 rubles. And of course, the golden rule of searching for cheap tickets to Tenerife is hidden in the proverb: "Whoever got up earlier has slippers." You can fly cheaply if you buy tickets in about half a year.

For the flight to Tenerife, we chose Iberia with short connections in Madrid: 3 hours and 1 hour in the opposite direction. Back in an hour, we normally managed to run to another terminal of the Madrid airport.

Many of my acquaintances wry their noses when they hear about a connecting flight. Probably, we are all too rich in Russia ... Europeans constantly fly with transfers: grandparents, families with children, young companies. In general, think about it.

Step 2. What to choose in Tenerife: south or north?

Once the tickets were purchased, we moved on to the phase of finding information about the island. I know that many tourists act exactly the opposite: first, they collect information and accumulate a desire to visit this or that place, and then they go and book air tickets. We want it always and everywhere, so we always start from the cost of the flight and hotels, the availability of vacation days. We prefer to fly frequently and on a budget: about 5-6 trips per year with a budget of up to 30,000 per person.

So, we know that Tenerife is the largest island of the Canary archipelago of volcanic origin. Pensioners from Europe, crazy English students and our compatriots, “who have something to compare with,” like to rest here. In many reviews, for some reason, people do not like the fact that there are a lot of European pensions in hotels, on the promenade. How do they interfere?

Someone complains about dirt, bulls and bottles everywhere. Friends, but what do you want from a resort where English youth and Russians rest? Or do you really believe that the British eat oatmeal and discuss the weather over a cup of tea? But in vain! Personally, my opinion is that English tourists the worst neighbors for those seeking tranquility with a good night's sleep. Our Russian brawlers to them oh how far! But do not think that there is a garbage dump in the Canaries, everything is within the normal range, as in any popular resort.

Neither pensioners nor the British are bothering us, so we turn to the issue of climate and resort.

The island of Tenerife is divided by the huge Teide volcano into two climatic zones. If you look at the satellite map of Tenerife, you will see that Northern part green, and the southern "sand". This is due to the more humid climate in the north and dry and hot weather in the south. The volcano blocks the path of the clouds, so they pour rain on the northern part of the island.

Since we flew to Tenerife in October and wanted sun and warmth, living in the north is very risky. If we were traveling in August, I would not hesitate to choose the north of Tenerife. Perhaps seasoned tourists are already ready to throw tomatoes at me, but I am writing about what was right for us. The choice of the south of Tenerife was very correct. On South nice beaches and beautiful weather, and in the north in the evening the sky was overcast, the ocean was much colder and more restless.

Something in between is the choice of a resort in the Terasistos beach area , which is located in the east of the island. This is Tenerife's most "postcard" beach with palm trees and light sand. But we wanted fun and discos, so we all chose Las Americas or Los Cristianos for ourselves.

Las Americas and Los Cristanos currently have no borders and have practically merged with each other. But still, in Los Cristianos there is much better beaches, less noise and dirt. At least, all tourists who have already rested in Tenerife write so.

We rented a car and explored the island on our own, so the location of attractions also mattered when choosing a resort. On the Internet, reviews and opinions differed. One part with foam at the mouth proved that all the most interesting is in the north of Tenerife, and someone is of my opinion that they are scattered all over the island. For example, a volcano is located in the middle of the island, Los Gigantes in the west, Santa Cruz, Teristas in the east, the most large water park, decoys park generally in the south. Well, add to everything else the size of the island and you will understand that for exploring Tenerife by car it is absolutely not important where to live.

Here is a map showing the main attractions of Tenerife.

View Attractions Tenerife on a larger map

At some point, we even wanted to split our vacation in two and live both in the north and in the south. But since we are 7 people, all the coordination of hotels, wishes, etc. looked too difficult.

In general, after going through all the pros and cons, we opted for the southern part of Tenerife and began to choose a hotel.

Step 3. Book a hotel or apartment in Tenerife

In fact, it turned out that choosing a hotel is not as easy as it seemed at first. I wrote about all our throwing when choosing a hotel separate note .

Step 4. Get a Spanish visa on your own

Tenerife belongs to Spain, and Spain is part of the Schengen Agreement, so a visa is required. Many people think that getting a visa on their own is very difficult and they are afraid of it like plague. People, it’s very easy to get a visa if you don’t screw up in Europe. And getting a Schengen visa to Spain is doubly pleasant, because you will immediately be given a six-month multivisa, on which you can travel to Europe more than once.

So, what should be done to apply for a visa.

You need to go to the website of the official visa center of Spain. Please do not confuse all sorts of firms offering their assistance in obtaining a visa and an accredited visa center. Here is his website: http://www.spainvac-ru.com/russian/shorttermvisa.html

See the list of required documents: http://www.spainvac-ru.com/russian/shorttermvisa_docreq.html

Collect documents and come to submit them, here is the list of addresses of visa centers in Russia: http://www.spainvac-ru.com/russian/contactus.html.

Step 5: How to get from Tenerife airport: transfer, bus, taxi

Tenerife has two airports: North (TFN, Tenerife Nord Los Rodeos) and South (Tenerife South Reina Sofia). As a rule, European airlines fly to the North Airport, and Russian ones to the South.

There are several ways to get from Tenerife North Airport to Las Americas or Los Cristianos.

You can order a transfer with a Russian-speaking driver. We took a car for seven for 100 euros from this company http://islatenerife.ru/kanarskie-ostrova/tenerife/transfer-na-tenerife.html. We were met by a cheerful Eugene at the exit of their airport.

I took a transfer price plate from their website.

There is also such a list of routes with a detailed description of each: http://www.titsa.com/index.php?accion=linea&IdLinea=343

And, of course, you can take a taxi from Tenerife airport. You do not need to order a taxi in advance, the parking lot near the arrival hall is full of them. Prices are about the same as for transfers.

Step 6: Rent a car in Tenerife or excursions in Tenerife

If you have the opportunity to rent a car, then don't even hesitate - take it. The roads in Tenerife are good, there are plenty of parking places, and your hands will be completely free to travel to the island.

The largest rental company - CiCar www.ci car.com. We rented a car from them because the prices for cars with automatic transmission were the best. Plus, full insurance included, lots of offices.

Tip: if you want a car with an automatic transmission, then order in advance, because there are few of them in Tenerife.

In addition to CiCar, well-known companies work in Tenerife:

www.easycar.com

www.avis.co.uk

www.europcar.com/

and many other rental offices.

If you cannot rent a car, then you can join organized excursions.

Well, for independent travelers without a car, I have prepared a note on how to visit the sights of Tenerife by public transport.

Our trip to Tenerife with self-preparation cost us 60,000 rubles for two for 10 days.

For this price we got:

  • flight with Iberia;
  • Schengen visa for half a year;
  • individual transfer with a Russian-speaking driver;
  • apartments near a great beach;
  • car with automatic machine for 6 days.

Every day we bought the freshest seafood in a nearby supermarket, fried delicious meat and fish, ate fruits and vegetables and sometimes went to restaurants. Traveled most sights of the island, lost a DSLR at a disco in Las Americas, bathed in the warm ocean, and did a lot of things. I will definitely return to Tenerife again, because there are still many places left to see!

If you also want to go to Tenerife on your own, but have questions with the organization of the trip, then ask questions in the comments to the note. I will gladly help you as much as I can. And here you can read stories and different opinions about resorts, parks, hotels in Tenerife .

Flight to Tenerife!

Unfortunately, you cannot get to Tenerife by train, and you cannot do without the help of a ferry by car. Therefore, the shortest route in Tenerife is by air. Basically, airlines fly to Tenerife and Gran Canaria (the most big islands), from where you can easily fly or swim to any Canary Island. But if you browse the Internet, you can find flights to all the islands, except for La Gomera, where the airport hasn’t been physically built yet. They are trying to preserve the virgin landscape.

It's important to know!

When planning a flight to Tenerife, please note that it has two airports. Tenerife Norte (TFN) is the northern airport and Tenerife Sur (TFS) is the southern airport. If the selected hotel is located in the south, it is more convenient to book a flight to the south airport. Although, if you plan to rent a car, there will be fewer problems. There is a motorway between the south and north.

Which airline to fly to Tenerife.

For convenience, let's take the starting point for all flights to Tenerife Moscow. In the vast majority of cases, you will still have to fly to Tenerife via the Capital. All the same, the largest transport hub in Russia. Therefore, we believe that you will find the way to Moscow yourself, and then we will give you a little hint. Much depends on your plans, the age of the passengers and, we will not hide, the budget allocated per tourist.

If you are a reckless vagabond from the couchsurfer community who is not afraid of spending the night at airports and train stations, then you can try to get to your destination by hitchhiking and, in part, by swimming, using the services of good-natured Africans who periodically try to swim to the Canary Islands on homemade rafts. It's another matter when you have a wife, children or friends who do not understand the romance of free travel behind your shoulders.

Direct flights to Tenerife.

Direct flights to Tenerife are now operated by Aeroflot, replacing the dismissed Transaero. European companies usually fly through the airports of their countries. Direct flights to Tenerife from Moscow run several times a week and arrive at the southern airport of the island of Reina Sofia (aka Tenerife Sur). A convenient arrival point for those looking for a hotel or apartment in Tenerife on the south side of the island. It takes 15-20 minutes to get to Las Americas by car.

The flight is carried out on a comfortable wide-body Airbus, which has three rows of seats according to the scheme 2 x 4 x 2. Excellent and comfortable planes, which take on board about 250 passengers. The duration of a direct flight from Moscow to the Canary Islands is approximately 7 hours. Tickets, by the way, are not that expensive. Economy class from 20 to 25 thousand per person in both directions. But tickets should be bought in advance, otherwise only business class will remain, which not everyone can afford.

Car rent!

In Iberia, it is possible to check in for a flight on-line. This is usually possible one to two days before departure. A notification is sent to the E-mail. We recommend that you take the chance to sit at the emergency exits. It is very important on the Moscow-Madrid flight, where the distance to the front seats is very small everywhere, except for the rows at emergency exits.

There are advantages and disadvantages to direct flights to Tenerife. The advantage is obvious - you do not need to go from plane to plane at unfamiliar or unfamiliar airports, where, for some unknown reason, no one understands Russian. On the other hand, you are doomed to sit almost motionless for seven hours, listening to the roar of engines and enjoying the monotonous view of the clouds. In addition, you cannot kill two birds with one stone by examining the city of transplantation.

Flights with transfers.

If you are not afraid of transfers, and you want to save the overall budget of your trip, at least through a flight, pay attention to European airlines. One of the cheapest ways to fly to Tenerife is to use the services of Spain's largest airline, Iberia. You will need to play a little with the departure dates on the site Iberia, where you can find tickets with very attractive prices. From Iberia you will have a transfer in Madrid.

On the route Moscow-Madrid Iberia launches. This is a relatively small airplane with two rows of seats of three each. The gap between the chairs is very small, it is terribly uncomfortable to sit. Neither the crew nor the flight attendants speak Russian. They understand a little English. However, what is there on board to understand? If anything, show with your finger what you need and they will bring you. The flight to Madrid takes 4.5 hours. We consider it an advantage that Iberia is served at Domodedovo, which is relatively easy to reach.

Let us describe in more detail the features of a flight to Tenerife with Iberia, since it is not easy for everyone to read the website of this airline in a foreign language, and the reviews about Iberia on the Internet are contradictory. First of all, you need to understand that after you pay for economy class tickets, in most cases you will not be able to refuse them. No way. The window with the no refund inscription when buying a ticket on the Iberia website is cleverly hidden, nevertheless, as a rule, it is there. Therefore, pay for the ticket only after making the final decision.

Check-in for Iberia flights starts three hours and ends 45-60 minutes before departure. Given the Moscow traffic situation, it is reasonable to schedule your arrival at the Airport before check-in begins. Don't forget to read baggage rules and hand luggage... Unaccompanied baggage must weigh no more than 23 kg and have overall dimensions (length + width + height) no more than 156 cm. hand luggage must not exceed 20x40x55 cm. Carry-on baggage weight is no more than 10 kg.

If it turns out that your luggage weighs more than 23 kg for at least one kilogram, you will have to pay for the excess. But if it is possible to redistribute the cargo between unaccompanied baggage and carry-on baggage, move away from the check-in counter and do it. The savings will come out decent. After registration, you will need to go through customs and boarding security. Customs usually only look at passports. For non-payers of fines and taxes, this is the most tantalizing moment, since right now they may not be allowed out of the country, and hello vacation.

Next, the boarding control awaits you. In fact, this is a full-fledged screening of you and your hand luggage. Everything is transparent, including laptops and cameras. It is important not to take any tubes of liquid with you, volume over 100 ml... Liquids include any gels, deodorants, foams, perfumes, and the like. During the search, the found is seized and thrown into the basket without further ado. The exceptions are infants (they are allowed to take artificial food and juices) and people with diseases that require special nutrition or treatment (for example, diabetics can take insulin with them on the plane).

After passing the boarding control, you can breathe a sigh of relief and wait until the plane is announced, strolling through the shops duty free... In fact, it is unlikely that you can buy anything in them cheaper than at home, but this is one way to kill time. Next flight, budget breakfast provided for your ticket and landing in Madrid. The transfer from terminal to terminal at Madrid airport and walks around the city are detailed in other subsections.

Flight from Madrid to Tenerife.

A much more comfortable Airbus flies from Madrid to Tenerife than the one that takes you to Madrid from Moscow. It . One of the longest four-engined passenger aircraft in the world. It can take on board about 400 passengers. The gap between the rows allows you to freely stretch your legs and not rest your knees on the backs of the front seats. Tail-mounted cameras provide passengers with a view of the aircraft throughout the flight. In addition, so that passengers are not so uncomfortable, the monitors show the current location of the liner over the ocean and the estimated time until the end of the flight.

The flight from Madrid to Tenerife takes approximately three and a half hours. Please note that this flight does not include breakfast, lunch or dinner. Stewards, of course, will walk with their grocery cart along the rows, and offer to choose something from the menu, which lies in the front seat pocket, but the cost of the offered dishes is frankly depressing. Similar dishes on earth are 2.5-3 times cheaper. It is advisable to take food with you, and buy juice or other drinks at duty free after passing the boarding control.

Notices before takeoff and landing warn that it is prohibited to use mobile phones, cameras and even laptops throughout the flight. Nevertheless, we took pictures, the neighbor was sitting at his laptop and none of the flight attendants said anything. This means that everything is not so scary as they say, and you can take pictures on Iberia's planes. There is nothing special upon arrival in Tenerife. We receive the luggage and go towards the sun and sand.

About luggage!

If you are planning to check in your things in Baggage (and, most likely, you will), do not forget to carefully pack the suitcase or bag that will not go with you. It is advisable to wrap it in stretch wrap while still at home. But at home, as usual, there is no stretch, so you can use a similar service at the airport. Much more expensive, though.

Good packaging should not be neglected. First, it reduces the likelihood of items being stolen from the bag. Secondly, it protects the bag itself from damage.

About agencies?

Tenerife is one of the areas in which it is quite possible to do without the help of agencies. At the same time, you are not attached to any tours and you decide everything yourself. The costs will be lower.

The only thing is that planning a trip will require at least basic knowledge of English or Spanish. If the language is difficult, you should contact the agency. Which? Well, in Natalie Tours, for example. You only need to call directly, avoiding the services of secondary agents.

I suggest finding cheap flights to Tenerife and flying to the island of eternal spring in the middle of winter - in February! For only 110 euros (7 "204 rubles) round trip !!!

Cheap flights to Tenerife from Moscow are difficult to find, but you can ... The fact is that you can get to Tenerife from Moscow either by rare expensive direct Aeroflot flights, or with transfers. Direct flight Moscow - Tenerife by Aeroflot costs about 400 euros (26 "000 rubles) per person round-trip. Flights with one or two transfers usually cost at least 280 euros (from 18" 000 rubles).

We open any search engine for cheap flights, for example Skyscanner or Aviasales ... Go to and we see:

For February 2017, the cheapest flight Moscow - Tenerife costs 19 "000 rubles (this is with two transfers!). Direct flights Aeroflot offers air tickets for 24" 042 rubles - a little expensive and I have not seen any promotions or sales from Aeroflot on these direct flights ...

But if you can't do without transfers, I suggest you do a good search and find something even more profitable! After all, promotions and sales of air tickets are also offered by other airlines, and no one has canceled European low-cost airlines. ... For some reason it seems to me that Europeans fly cheaper in Tenerife than we do ... So let's get to Europe first!

In Tenerife, you can fly cheaply from Germany and Spain. We will not get to Spain for less than 10 "000 rubles, so we will look for cheap flights to Germany, for example, to Cologne. We are looking for flights Moscow - Cologne. Very often Pobeda Airlines throws out cheap flights in this direction.

Well, not bad at all, right? We found air tickets Moscow - Cologne for 2 "591 rubles round trip. Now we need to find air tickets from Cologne to Tenerife. I did not find cheap air tickets for the same dates, but there are ones for neighboring dates.

As a result, we have:

  • Flights Moscow - Cologne February 2-16 for 2 "591 rubles round trip
  • Flights Cologne - Tenerife February 3-15 for 4 "613 rubles round trip

It turns out that we found a way to get to Tenerife and back for only 7 "204 rubles (110 euros) !!! Plus a walk around Cologne as a bonus ... Of course, we'll have to fork out a little overnight at the Cologne hotel on the way there and on the way back. But even in this case, we will keep within 10-11 thousand rubles. For whom one day in Cologne is not enough, you can move the dates and stay in Germany for a couple of days.

For residents of St. Petersburg, there are good prices on Tenerife from Helsinki. How to get to Helsinki, any Petersburger knows .

And you can find cheap flights from Vilnius to Spain or Germany, and from there to Tenerife. At the same time, you can get to Vilnius by the so-called "Nesterov train" for 1,000 rubles one way. Kaliningrad region, and get off yourself earlier - at the station in Vilnius. The fact is that a ticket to Nesterov will cost 3 times cheaper than to Vilnius

There is only one conclusion: he who seeks will always find. Find cheap flights Help you!

I hope my article was useful to you and you are already going to Tenerife

Well, if for some reason you can't go to Tenerife, click the social network button below and share the link with your friends and family! They will be grateful to you for that ... and we will say thank you too.

Tenerife is about 5.500 km away from Moscow. You can overcome them both in one sitting and with a transfer somewhere in Europe.
Now direct flights take off only from Moscow, with a transfer it is possible to get from some other cities of Russia, bypassing the capital's airports.
Please note that Tenerife has two airports in different parts of it.
Read about local flights between the islands in the "Transport" section.

Flight to Tenerife with a transfer

Recently, more and more of our compatriots are giving up direct flights in favor of flights with a connection somewhere in Europe. And for good reason.

First, it is often cheaper. And if you take care of buying tickets in advance and get creative, it's much cheaper.
Secondly, you can plan a tour of any length you want.

Third, the choice of airlines is expanding significantly. In general, a “crooked” flight is a reasonable alternative to a direct one.

Flight options - a lot. Before Tenerife there is regular flights from many cities in Europe, but most often Barajas in Madrid is used as a transfer airport.

The advantage of connecting flights is that both flight segments are purchased with one ticket. Even if they are carried out by different airlines (for example, Aeroflot flies from Moscow to Madrid or Barcelona, and from there to Tenerife their Spanish partner Air Europe).
Those. at the transfer airport you do not need to receive and re-check in your baggage, and if you are late for the second flight due to the delay of the first one, the airline will solve the problem.

When you yourself make up a flight from separate segments, then all responsibility for mistakes in route planning falls on you. Allow enough time for connecting, taking into account the need to wait for baggage, move around the airport, check-in for the second flight and the possible delay of the first.

But on your own you can come up with well, very budget options flight. For example, Ryanair will take you from Madrid or Barcelona to Tenerife all year round for minimal money. Accordingly, the task comes down to buying cheap tickets to these cities. Catch sales and good rates!

And residents of St. Petersburg will certainly appreciate some of the offers of Norwegian Air, especially since you can get to Helsinki Airport by car.
