Let's say without hesitation - one of best trips to Austria this season"sharpened" for skiers and boarders for lovers of piste and off-piste skiing with the opportunity to visit several "hit" skiing spots at once without changing the place of the main dislocation and using the SINGLE SKIPASS! Do you think we are exaggerating? But no))). What is ESR? ESR - EUROPA SPORT REGION includes all ski resorts of the Salzburg region such as: Zell am Zee - Kaprun with its magnificent Kitzsteinhorn glacier, Kitzbuhel, Bad Gastain - Bad Hofgastain, Saalbach - Hinterglemm with its famous circumnavigation, as well as the famous Zillertal Arena. In all the above-mentioned places we MUST visit !!! It makes no sense to dwell in great detail on each of the resorts - it will take a lot of your time, but remember the main thing - each of these places deserves a separate trip 100%, but we will try to introduce you in one, using the SKI SAFARI method. I would also like to mention that this tour is waiting for you: the gorgeous Taueren SPA complex in Kaprun, the possibility of a cheerful après in the evening, as well as two transit nights in Vienna and Budapest with the opportunity to spend interesting evenings in these cities.

Apre Ski Resort Kitzbühel

For ski resorts Apre Ski is almost the most important part of culture and resort Kitzbuehel He will introduce you to this secret action in the best possible way. There are very fashionable discos and fun parties, old taverns and excellent restaurants, bars, casinos, a cinema, an aqua park and even an art gallery. Among the restaurants, Tennerhof, SchwedenKapel and Unterberger are considered unsurpassed hits. We also liked the Louis Stern restaurant. There are very large portions in Landhösl, but in the restaurants of La Fonda, Huberbrau, Il Gusto, portions are not less. The gastronomy of the resort is, in fact, worth exploring on your own and without unnecessary hints. In this delicate question, you should rely, nevertheless, solely on your taste sensations.

As for the disco clubs and pubs of the town of Kitzbühel. Most tourists distinguish three central discos: Royal, Club-Take-5 and Olympia. It is noted that the hottest parties are in these establishments.

Attractions of the town of Kitzbühel

In addition to skiing and evening entertainment, the soul of almost every second tourist in the town of Kitzbühel can please his curiosity. You can replenish your baggage of impressions by visiting, for example, the beautiful chapel built in the Baroque style in 1725.

At the foot of the Hahnenkamm slope there is the chapel of St. Bernard, the patron saint of the inhabitants of the Alps and the conquerors of the peaks, built in 1961.

The Church of St. Catherine, an old building, was recognized as a city church in 1365.

Another old church, the Holy Mother of God, was built approximately in 1373.

Spitalskirche church built in the Gothic style in 1412.

The building, first mentioned in 1521 and renovated in the 17th century. Here until 1784 was the Dominican Abbey.

Kitzbühel Parish Church of St. Andrew, built in 1435-1506, initially early Gothic, then the church was rebuilt in the Baroque style.

City Hall in 1531, until 1954 was constantly completed and supplemented.

Franciscan monastery built in 1698-1702.

Lebenberg, the castle, which was first mentioned in 1531.

4 kilometers from Kitzbühel you will find the Munichau castle, now a haunted hotel.

The 15th-16th century castle of Kaps is especially interesting for theatrical performances in the summer.

Those who are especially curious and eager for new experiences can visit the museums of the region, ancient mines, galleries, parks and gardens.

One of the main controversies in our post-Olympic village is Krasnaya Polyana against the Alps. Each time, hundreds of comments are written from couch analysts with calculations of prices and budgets, smoothly turning into insults. And we also decided to throw our five cents on the fan.

What's better?

Objectively answering the question “which is better” or “where is better” is practically unrealistic, even when it comes to the resorts of one country: for example, Austria. Each resort is good in its own way and each resort has its drawbacks. Undoubtedly, Krasnaya Polyana is the number 1 resort in Russia. Because there are simply no other places for skiing with so many slopes and modern lifts, hotels and apartments, restaurants and bars, shops and services in our country. Therefore, they try to compare Polyana with abroad.
But there is important point overlooked by most of those who compare - there are more than 70 ski regions in Austria alone and almost 800 villages and towns that host tourists in the mountains. Ski holidays "there" began to develop more than a century ago, and now almost everyone who works in the resorts is either passionate fans who have moved to the mountains, or people from families who have been in the service industry for many decades or working for the benefit of tourists. And it is a ski vacation (and summer rest in the mountains) - the main component of the budget of this country. We can say that its high-quality organization is one of the priority tasks of the government. So when someone says: "Austria is better", meaning "the widest choice, service culture, all the little things are taken into account ..." - in most cases he is right. Of course, in general, they are better.

And if we are to compare, it is not "Alps vs Polyana", but "a specific Alpine resort vs Polyana". However, this will also be wrong, because the analogue should be chosen not on the basis of the fact that “I was there”, but according to some specific criterion. You can take as a basis the approximate mileage of the tracks and the cost of ski passes - simply because we are going to ride in the first place. But this is just part of the vacation and part of the budget, and the criteria for the attractiveness of resorts can vary greatly. Therefore, I will give my reasons.

Transport accessibility

From the point of view of residents of Moscow, Krasnaya Polyana is beyond competition. Flights every half hour or hour from any of the three Moscow airports, two hours in flight and 45 minutes by taxi at any time of the day or an hour or so by bus (175 rubles) until 8-9 pm. So it is absolutely possible to break for a couple of days, making a decision on Friday afternoon. And the average price of air tickets even during the peak season is new year holidays- usually equivalent to the price of tickets somewhere in the Alps, and usually lower the rest of the time.

There is no point in talking about residents of the South of Russia: for them Polyana is a weekend resort and we can compare them, for example, with residents of Germany or central Italy, who need several hours to get to the Alps in their car.

International passports and visa

Despite assurances that “now only the lazy do not have a passport and Schengen,” this is still a certain barrier for the bulk of winter mountain lovers. You also need money to get a passport and visa, the need to plan a trip and vacation in advance. In addition, there are now enough people restricted to travel abroad for various reasons. Be that as it may, let's be realistic: a noticeably smaller number of our fellow citizens go for a ride to all the resorts of the Alps than to the slopes of the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana alone.

The language barrier
Not all Russians can speak a foreign language, and this is a fact. It is still possible to decide in advance the issues of accommodation and logistics via the Internet with a google translator, but full immersion in an unfamiliar language environment will be a problem for many. Most of Our fellow citizens are not able to translate from a foreign language any menu item such as "deflope from a palabus with katius seeds", so many in cozy Euro restaurants have to limit themselves to Viennese schnitzel or pizza, and instead of the expected goulash eat goulash soup. And if you still know English, then it will not be useful to you everywhere in France or Austria. "They" know English many, but not all.

Talking with an instructor who speaks a language that you seem to know can also be mentioned: it is unlikely that without special training you will be able to understand on the slope what he wants to achieve from you, but he can use obscure terms. Although in fact a good instructor can explain, show and correct mistakes without words, for some such classes may not be very comfortable. This means that training will be less effective.

The shops

With regard to grocery stores, any of the resorts in Europe outright loses to Krasnaya Polyana. First of all, there are simply very few of them “there”. In addition, on Sunday they can be banally closed, and completely. Well, forget about the fact that you can buy food at any time of the day in Europe. Alcohol is a separate article: in Russia you can buy it around the clock, but where - well ... then be smart if you need it.

However, if for you the taste of sanctioned parmesans cannot be compared with Caucasian suluguni, and shank and prosciutto are not shashlik or sudjuk for you, then bourgeois gastronomy will definitely win. And also these stories about exquisite wine for 2 euros in Europe! But, in fact, the very sanctioned cheeses are sold in Polyana and Adler, and 10 minutes from the airport there is a wonderful Abkhaz duty-free, where knowledgeable local people are bought. The question is, is it necessary to eat it in Russia? And is it necessary to look for barbecue and khachapuri in the Alps?

In terms of opening hours, almost all Polyana sports stores also outperform similar ones, which close at 7 pm at best. In Gorki Gorod and Rosa Khutor, such shops are open for hours until 9-10 pm. And if you suddenly decide after dinner that you urgently need new gloves or a mask, no question. With regard to the assortment, I can say that if we take all the sports shops of the resorts and the village of Krasnaya Polyana, then in the Alps such a variety of offers can be found only on the streets of the largest mountain towns such as Chamonix, and in many resorts the assortment of shops is several times less, as is their number ...

Skating is the most important thing

Still, it is skiing that is the main factor for the sake of which the trip is started. Skiing includes not only slopes and lifts, but also the cost of rentals, ski instructors, children's schools, as well as the weather, temperature, seasonality of resorts and much more. It is the totality of all this, and not a separate element, that determine the choice of a particular resort. And do not forget that each rider needs his own specific set of services, so there is no better resort for a gurney. There are more or less suitable ones.

Prices for ski passes

The first indicator by which resorts are being compared is the prices of ski passes. In general, Krasnaya Polyana will be cheaper than most alpine resorts, if you study all the tariff scales or if you are puzzled with a purchase in advance and do it with good discounts. Many argue that “they have” is cheaper, but if you take everything well to calculate, then still “here” is cheaper in most cases. But there are exceptions: for example, the policy of a number of European resorts, when children are allowed to ride for free.

The obvious moment in which Krasnaya Polyana loses (so far) to the alpine resorts is the lack of a single ski pass for all three resorts. True, such a mega-super pass will probably cost 20% more than the most expensive of the ski passes for a single resort, so those who like to save money will still buy separate ski passes for each day or even half a day of skiing, and not a new one. six-day: "what if the weather turns bad?" And of course, the ski-bass, which runs along the circular route of the resorts - Krasnaya Polyana every 10 minutes, is also really necessary. But in the 2017-2018 season they promise to make such a ski pass.

Trails

The marking of the trails in the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana, in my opinion, is quite informative, the difficulty categories are marked adequately, the spring thawed patches are promptly fenced off with warning signs, really dangerous places covered with safety nets or fenced off, slopes are closed in case of avalanche danger ... In a word, in this sense, I see no reason for nagging. As a negative example "they have" I will cite some places on the tracks of the famous Meribel, where stones or earthy patches occur every ten meters, if not more often.

An absolutely fair claim to some of the "blue" tracks on Rosa Khutor: they are too narrow. And the track under the main lift Gorki Goroda also seems uninteresting to me. Unfortunately, such is the relief here - the route designers take into account a lot of slope parameters, and if they designed the routes in this way, then there are objective reasons for that. Some of the routes are more gentle, but more winding technological roads. Weak skiers are afraid to go on a steeper track, so they choose a more gentle, but narrow serpentine, and there, too, their level of skiing is not enough.
An exception is the slopes on the slopes of Gazprom, but there are not as many of them as you would like. So, according to this parameter, most of the Alpine resorts or regions of Andorra win.

Who doesn't need to go to Polyana?

I must say right away: I do not recommend going to Krasnaya Polyana to skate to several categories of amateurs alpine skiing and or snowboard. The first category is those who like to travel to new places and at the same time constantly solve peculiar quests: book the necessary accommodation in a foreign language, find and buy a bus or train ticket, choose the desired transfer, understand how to get to the desired point on the map, etc. In Sochi, this will not come in handy: there are regular scheduled buses with payment to the driver, Lastochka and many taxi services (and not services). Plus, the gaining momentum of car sharing (it is also here). And any information - for example, where to sharpen your skis or repair a car, can be found on the Internet in Russian in a couple of minutes. So it's boring here in terms of solving quests, gentlemen.

There are also adherents of riding Cheget. For lovers of a strong cocktail of difficult Northern slopes, long-familiar owners of restaurants in Chegetskaya Polyana, friends who constantly come here, cuisine of the North Caucasus and get-togethers in legendary cafes, there is nothing better than this place. And comparing Cheget and Krasnaya Polyana is like trying to compare La Grave and La Plagne: two completely different places, and each is good for a certain circle of skiers. So it is with Polyana - this place is an order of magnitude more suitable for mass skiing than Cheget together with Elbrus.

Also, there is no point in going to Polyana for lovers of ski safari in resorts with a trail length of 300+ or 600+ kilometers: skiing in the Three Valleys or Via Lattea will always be more interesting for them than, as they say, “scraping one and a half unfortunate trails”. At all four resorts of Polyana, there are now a little more than 150 km of slopes, provided that the winter is cold and they are all open. However, it will not be possible to test all 4 resorts in one day, and your maximum is the declared 102 km from Rosa Khutor, which includes both green and black ones. This is clearly not enough for those who like to travel in the mountains on skis and lifts.

And finally - the "mathematicians" who assess the attractiveness of the resort in terms of "gram-degree for the invested ruble", by dividing the amount spent on the trip by the total mileage of the resort's tracks. Moreover, they are deaf to arguments such as those that you can drive faster, safer on a familiar track and get pleasure from knowing this track. And none of them will cover the designated 600+ kilometers of tracks in a week, no matter how hard they try. However, all these kilometers should also be divided by two on average, since about half of the level of skiing will be either too difficult or too simple.

My personal opinion is that for the week that the overwhelming majority of us spend in the winter in the mountains, the length and variety of trails at the three operating resorts of Krasnaya Polyana (about 150 km) is quite enough. The quality of the preparation of the tracks, if in some places and does not reach the best tracks Dolomites or Salzburgerland, it certainly surpasses the tracks prepared by the efforts of the careless French. Lifts in Krasnaya Polyana are all new and high-speed, and not everyone can boast of this. European resorts... There are also queues everywhere, you just need to be able to plan the ride correctly and then you won't have to stand for a long time.

But such snow as in Krasnaya Polyana is found only on the slopes of the coastal resorts of Japan and North America... The reason is clear: it is humid salty air from the sea nearby. And true connoisseurs of snow from Europe really come here. There are few of them - there are few real specialists in any business. But the bulk of the riders are simply not able to assess the quality of the snow, so, frankly, unique snow is not an argument for the majority. Most people need trails rolled into corduroy, and the Alps generally benefit here: both in width and length.

Freeride

If we talk about freeriding, then, for example, in Italy in many resorts it is completely banned, in Austria there are literally two or three places where there is a real opportunity for interesting off-piste skiing, and there are not so many such resorts in France and Switzerland. Do not forget that in Krasnaya Polyana freeride is really diverse: skiing on wide fields, and rather steep lobbies, and rare forest... In the Alps, this variety of options is not often found even in resorts where freeriding is permitted. So, according to this parameter, Krasnaya Polyana really outperforms the vast majority of Alpine resorts. Note: not all, but popular among the bulk of skiing and snowboarding fans.

Skating culture

Skating culture and in general ski holiday many visitors to Krasnaya Polyana resorts (and Russia as a whole) are lame, and in this European ski resorts definitely win. It is not difficult to understand the reason: many Russians only after the Olympics, that is, literally in the last three years, got on skis or a board, and they have not the slightest idea about the written and unwritten rules of behavior on the slope. There is also such a feature of our population as the attitude to many things "and so it will come down."

And let's not forget another one of ours national identity- optional observance of rules and even laws. Plus the absence of punitive measures in relation to persistent violators of the rules safe behavior on the slopes, because we do not have the relevant legislation yet. And as a result, on the slopes of Krasnaya Polyana much more often (as it seems to me) than in the Alps or the Pyrenees, there are "flying crowbars" and cases of "hit and left." So, unfortunately, the situation with safety on the slopes "here" is still worse than "there".

But in general, the public on the slopes of Krasnaya Polyana is sane and benevolent, and from abroad people still bring a little culture of skiing.

Rescuers and medicine

Related to this topic, the work of the rescue service on the slopes, evacuation to the hospital and medical care in Krasnaya Polyana can only be assessed by the words of other people. And apparently, everything here is at a good level. Doctors have a lot of experience - unfortunately, this is the reality.

The equipment of the hospital in Krasnaya Polyana remained after the Olympics, so everything is fine with that too. The wards of the Krasnaya Polyana hospital are better equipped than the rooms of some hotels. The view from the window to the mountains, comfortable beds, good plumbing, and the food is quite tolerable.

And if necessary, the victim is quickly taken to one of the hospitals in Sochi, and it is much easier to organize prompt delivery home than to resolve issues with the insurance company by phone, convincing it to pay the bills of several medical and rescue structures abroad. Take my word for it - in the Alps it can become an extremely confusing and lengthy event, and staying for a few extra days “there” will be more difficult and more expensive than “here”, even with a long visa.

Food on the mountain

We are not very good with this yet. The choice of cafes on the slopes and the furnishings in some of them are still far from ideal. And the price tag for warm tea in a plastic cup or a vulgar sausage does not stand up to scrutiny. Judging by the ongoing construction and constantly opening new stationary "points of public catering" this is a temporary phenomenon, and in the coming years, I hope, the claim will be withdrawn. After all, it's only been three years since the slopes were opened for public skiing. In La Plagne, ten years ago, we were in a chic, freshly built mountain restaurant, although the resort had been operating for more than forty years by that time.

Toilets

The number of toilets on the slopes of Polyana is rather sufficient - in fact, you can get from any place in the resorts to the nearest toilet in a maximum of ten to twenty minutes. But there are questions to their "comfort". Some vacationers are uncomfortable in toilets, which are temporary structures a la construction trailers, and in this sense, toilets in the Alps or Pyrenees are very good. Although in stationary buildings "here" the toilets are also absolutely normal.

Rentals and services

If we talk about rentals and service, then while "we have" the situation is twofold. On the one hand, next to lower stations there are a sufficient number of ski lifts with modern equipment, there are test centers with an excellent choice of equipment, tests of new collections of skis are being carried out - from this side, everything is no worse than "theirs". But in the villages there are also small rentals, the unscrupulous owners of which take advantage of the ignorance of tourists who want to save money, and literally "sell" unsuitable or outdated equipment, riding on which can even be dangerous. But I am glad that there are fewer and fewer such stories. I have never seen anything like this "with them".

Instructors

Instructors are also a difficult topic “with us”. If you are a beginner and apply to the official schools operating in each of the resorts, you will be fine. But the desire to save money "with us" often leads the skaters into the arms of illegal, so-called "black" instructors, and this, unfortunately, is a lottery. Since there is no single instructor certificate in Russia, anyone can print some "crusts" for themselves. And none of the inexperienced skiers will understand what the instructor will show him. And therefore, along with really experienced, qualified - really cool instructors, among the "blacks", unfortunately, there may be other people who are not like that. In the Alpine countries, the fight against illegal instructors is fierce, the recent scandal with British (note - officially trained in their country) instructors is just one example. There are illegal instructors “out there” too, but it is extremely difficult to find them, and they do not try to “snatch from under the nose” of the potential client's official instructors. “With us” it is still a reality.

Landscapes

There is no legendary Donguz-Orun or the symbol of Switzerland - Matterhorn in Krasnaya Polyana, there are no stunningly beautiful peaks of the Dolomites or powerful glaciers of Mont Blanc turning pink at sunset. And if you want to ride surrounded by four-thousanders hanging over your head or admire the glaciers with a cup of cappuccino, it is better to choose another place to relax. Although ... there are no ugly mountains, so in this regard, everything is completely subjective.

History of the place

This is another topic that is important for many. And in this "here" he loses with a devastating score. There are no “we” in the Polyana or nearby mountain towns like Salzburg or Innsbruck, Aosta or Annecy - with a castle, centuries-old or even two-thousand-year history and corresponding architecture, no cathedrals with paintings or frescoes painted by the master's hand, or barns blackened from time Saas-Fee and Zermatt. It is clear that this also applies to museums and art galleries. Only dolmens, but you can't walk along them in the evening. So you have to either fly along the embankment of the Mzymta, or hustle on the streets of Gorki-Goroda, and this, you see, is "not quite that".

Perhaps, I will not name "here" and at least partially "prayed" places where guides and instructors gather after a hard day for decades. The absolutely special atmosphere of these places is not for everyone, but such points of attraction are very important: there there is a feeling of belonging, unity of those who are gathering, acquaintances arise that develop into cooperation and friendship. And you can meet good acquaintances and friends right after skiing there. Except, probably, only "Triconi", which is located far from the slopes, in my opinion, none of the resort establishments in Krasnaya Polyana is still able to perform such a function, it's a pity. By the way: I will be very glad if I am mistaken in this matter. Maybe the "locales" will be corrected?

Apres-Ski

If the topic of Après-Ski is already on, then in terms of aqua centers and swimming pools, sports entertainments such as a trampoline and an ice rink, cinemas and cafes, concert halls and events in open areas, restaurants and canteens, clubs and bars, shopping centers, etc. "With us" - at least parity with the most promoted and major resorts Alps, and Polyana wins over the vast majority of comparable-sized resorts. Given the rate at which this industry is multiplying, I think that with this and in the future, everything will be fine. Not to mention the fact that with an irresistible desire to join the beauty, in the evening and in Sochi, you can easily drive that “with them” is not available everywhere.

The casino, in my opinion, is not a topic for discussion at all. In the Alps, there are casinos, for example, in Chamonix, Saint Vincent, Kitzbühel, but something I did not see at the entrance of a massive concentration of hungry mountains of gold. So here we also win a little, although this, KMK, and nafig is not necessary.

Weather and climate

Weather is a separate topic, and everywhere, in my opinion, there are pluses and minuses. Krasnaya Polyana resorts open the season even before Christmas, and snowfalls, especially this season, were regular and quite abundant, which cannot be said about the Alps. On the other hand, you can forget about full-fledged skiing in April "with us", and this month it is better to go to one of the Alpine glaciers. By the way, some of them have skiing in the summer, which in principle cannot be at low resorts, which include the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana. On the other hand, "here" there are no frosts below minus 25-30 degrees, which can be reached in winter at glacial resorts such as Zermatt, where skiing begins at altitudes of over 3500 meters. And I got into intense rain with equal success both at the end of December in Austria and in March in Polyana, you can't guess. So the most honest thing about the weather would be to say: how lucky, but the chances of rain in the valley and snow in the upper part of the ski area "here" are much higher.

Prices

Finally, a few words about the budget. Let's not forget that the budget of any vacation consists of several components, each of which can be optimized with independent trip both in the Alps and "to us". The road, transfers around the resort, food - all this can be chosen with a price difference of up to ten times. And in the case of accommodation, the difference may be even greater, there is practically no upper limit, in the network I have come across offers for 500 - 800 thousand rubles per week of rest in one of the Krasnaya Polyana hotels. But our lower limit is still less. At least at the expense of visas, passports and transfers.

So, in my opinion, one of the advantages of Krasnaya Polyana is its democratic character. If you get too confused, then the checkpoint will still be cheaper than the Alps. You can fly by plane, or you can come by train or your car - in any case, tickets are not quite affordable during the high season, and finding a "bed" in a hostel for 500 rubles a day is quite a feasible task. You can get from the airport or train station by bus, and daily transfers from Krasnaya Polyana by ski bus, which runs to Rosa Khutor, are free. Lunch or dinner in a modest dining room will cost 250 - 350 rubles, you can take a light snack or a pack of sandwiches and a thermos with coffee on the slope, so without taking into account the cost of a ski pass, the minimum vacation budget starts from about 15 thousand rubles. In short, if you are on a tight budget, this “we” is not the biggest problem. A more comfortable vacation off the peak of the season will cost ten thousand more, and if you add really delicious lunches and dinners in numerous cafes, then you need to add the same amount.

However, this is all on average. Hot tours and early bookings there is not only “us”, but also “they”. Experienced skaters try to make long-term visas in order to be able to good propositions not only in Russia, but also abroad. Renting a car in Russian can in some cases cost several times more than in German or Italian (for your own people). And if everything is organized properly and in advance, just then those very real ones appear. budget prices in the Alps, about which they write so often.

So which is better?

Dismiss! Everyone chooses for himself.

I just compared the pros and cons of "ours" and "theirs." With a reasonable approach and proper preparation, you can have an inexpensive vacation everywhere, and your personal preferences for skiing, food and service come to the fore.

We wish everyone have a nice rest in Russia and abroad! We hope that this material will be useful for novice skiers and snowboarders.

Krasnaya Polyana is becoming an alpine ski resort in terms of piste length and service. The ski-safari service is gaining popularity as a recreational ski resort

This year, the total length of slopes in the ski resorts of Krasnaya Polyana will exceed 160 kilometers. Few people noticed that this exceeds the total length ski slopes legendary Chamonix. Without a descent along the White Valley (23 km), which is an off-piste descent, the length of prepared slopes in Chamonix resorts is in the region of 150 km and most likely less than this figure.

It is gratifying that we are not only approaching the Alpine resorts with the stars of hotels, but we can also compete in the ski infrastructure.

But everything in this world has a downside. Increasingly, I see people on the tracks studying the resort's maps in the guise of a blonde who sees for the first time what is under the hood of a car. And the queues for the lifts are formed, as a rule, by "newcomers" who do not know all the lifting options.

These and other facts show that the format has become relevant in Krasnaya Polyana

Ski safari Ski safari. What it is?

Despite the pretentious sound, this term means only a ski trip along the slopes of a ski resort or a combined area of several resorts. This is sometimes referred to as "resort escort" or "VIP skiing"

Someone is looking for speed and rolling kilometers, someone is looking for virgin soil and extreme, someone is not going further than freestyle spots. A ski safari is what is now commonly called:

Recreational skiing

- This is skiing aimed at the extended restoration of the physical, intellectual and emotional forces of a person or a full rest and recovery of a person by means of mountain skiing.

I do not judge theoretically about the benefits of ski safari - I myself used the services of ski safari guides in the Alps and in Norway. And many times he wandered along the multicolored trails or stupid on routers - traverses along which to go without skis, losing precious time and energy on an unnecessary adventure in the "himself-to-himself-Ivan-Susanin" format.

The need for a ski safari for long trails is obvious. For decades, what they were going for in the Alps has already taken root in Krasnaya Polyana in a ready-made format.

Let's leave the right to solve the quests of local maps to people who enjoy it.

And here is what the rider will get who ordered the services of a ski safari guide:

- The correct way to start the ascent. The not always obvious option is the best;

- Trails corresponding to the level of skiing of the participants;

- The most spectacular and interesting points of shooting a photo, horizons of unreal beauty;

- Excursion service with toponymic, historical, geological and other data about the surrounding nature and relief;

- Knowing when and where "traffic jams" occur on slopes and lifts and alternative options to avoid them,

- Guide to mountain catering - cozy and pocket-friendly cafes and restaurants,

The help of a guide will also come in handy for inquiries about leisure, après-skiing, shopping, restaurants and other opportunities in the resorts and Krasnaya Polyana.

I will also mention another important awareness of the guide about safe skiing and knowledge of ways to quickly communicate with rescuers.

Ski safari "For those who like it hot"

Recreational skiing does not mean slowly crawling from a point of beauty to another beauty. If you wish, you can “light up” within the limits of your possibilities along the highway and taste the virgin soil along the highway in an adequate format of a resort freeski.

The term "freeski at the resort "- denotes a descent from the top point of the zone resort area skiing on the slopes and straightening the descent along the inter-piste space. It can be both virgin soil and slope broken up to the mogul and drops from the relief and artificial objects. Freeskihelps to diversify skiing in the resort and gain universal skiing skills.

This is discussed and carried out in accordance with the wishes of the riding company.

Family format ski safari and ski nanny

For children, the ski resort is not only the joy of skiing, but also an area of increased danger. I would compare the situation as if cyclists were released into the traffic flow on the Moscow Ring Road - it is impossible to dodge cars rushing at speed, and the many times greater mass leaves little chance of surviving.

If we continue the analogy, the guide will always find quiet streets, with little or no traffic. Such skiing can be in the format of a ski-nanny, when the parents, leaving the child in the care of the ski nanny, ride for their own pleasure. There can also be a family format, when adults adapt to the children's pace.

Ski safari and ski nanny - locations

Ski safari is most in demand in the mountain resort of Rosa Khutor. In the new ski season 2018, the length of the slopes of the resort has exceeded 100 km. Even to go around just bypass all the routes will take 2-3 days. But this is often not necessary - the most interesting places it is quite possible to go around in a day or two.

At other resorts, the number of slopes is much less, but if it is important for you to have control and safety in skiing, a guide will help you.

A ski nanny is needed for children and adolescents at any resort if parents decide to ride without children.

We are always ready to arrange for you and

Ski resorts in Austria with thermal springs are the best that a traveler can choose for winter holiday... Milky white peaks of majestic mountains, fantastically beautiful glaciers and stunning landscapes are spread all around. Below there are colorful valleys, where a well-deserved aromatic mulled wine and apple strudel await you. Crowds of skiers and snowboarders scurry about here and there. In the meantime, you are here, above, where each snowflake reflects the light and the sky.

Convenient location

Innsbruck has its own airport, which means that having arrived in Austria, you will not have to get anywhere further. At the same time, there is an opportunity to visit the original Austrian villages that are in the neighborhood and choose a new resort for skiing every day.

Developed infrastructure and availability of everything necessary for comfortable rest at the highest level.

More details about the "capital" of Tyrol can be found on the official website of the city of Innsbruck.

The best ski resorts in Tyrol :

  • Mayrhofen;
  • Sölden;
  • St. Anton am Arlberg;
  • Kitzbuehel; Ischgl.

Mayrhofen

Mayrhofen Is my favorite ski resort, and not only because it is the cheapest in Austria. The city is located 65 km from Innsbruck Airport.

First of all, it is a youth and party place where night life never dies down. And since I love to have fun with all my heart, Mayrhofen never disappoints me.

Sölden

Sölden - incredibly beautiful resort village whose landscapes are stunning. It is located 84 from Innsbruck, and the most convenient way to get here will be by buses " Ötztal Shuttle". Prices at the resort are in the middle range.

If, impressed by the natural beauties, you decide to choose this particular place for your vacation, take into account, Sölden - a resort for the most advanced, here's the thing a large number of difficult tracks, the total length of which is 150 km.

Also, you should pay attention to the fact that even if you are not a beginner, but haven't skated for a long time, you shouldn't go here either.

I will never forget how, after a break of several years, I found myself on a mountain Gaislachkogel, looked down and my heart stopped. For a long time I could not decide how to go down: on skis or on foot. Courage and courage outweighed, and, although with stops, I descended, but that day I never climbed such a height.

St. Anton am Arlberg

This is one of the oldest Austrian resorts... The skiing tradition began here in 1904, when the first downhill competition was held in the town. One of the first ski schools in the world was opened here. The tradition of holding major competitions has not been forgotten, and in 2001 the Alpine Skiing World Championship was held here.

Nowadays, skiers are offered a variety of slopes, the total length of which is about 280 km, but beginners shouldn't come here.

The distance from the resort to Innsbruck is 103 km. railroad... Distance to - 184 km.

I really like the local shops, where you can buy things from the world's leading brands, as well as small souvenirs. I once bought some candied violets here, which turned out to be edible. Amazing!

Kitzbuehel

Kitzbühel is an elite and one of the oldest resorts, distinctive feature which is its unique medieval flavor, you will not surprise anyone with buildings of the 16th century. Located 100 km from Innsbruck.

Kitzbuhel's calling card - legendary Streif track, which is known to be used for the Downhill World Cup.

The ski infrastructure of the town is also striking: in Kitzbühel there are 160 km of ski slopes and about 60 ski lifts.

Ischgl

Ischgl - one of the most prestigious Austrian resorts, Hollywood stars, and "golden youth", and businessmen have a rest here. The place is especially attractive for freeriders.

It often hosts concerts from world-class artists, and the spread of heights from 2000 to 2872 meters guarantees a variety of descents.

Conditions have been created here for alpine skiing. So if you want to ski and plunge into Bavarian culture at the same time, you are right here.

Among the mountain ski resorts, I would single out the following :

  • Zell am See - Kaprun;
  • Saalbach.

Zell am See - Kaprun

Includes resorts: Zell am See, Piesendorf, Kaprun, which are united in the European Sports Region. Distance from Salzburg - 60 km, from Innsbruck - 100 km. The most convenient way to get here is by train.

A well-developed ski infrastructure, more than 40 km of excellent pistes and about 20 ski lifts gave the region the right to host the Winter Olympic Games, but so far it has not worked out. Nevertheless, I am confident that such a stunning region has everything ahead.

It's incredibly beautiful everywhere, but Lake Zeller See- beyond any competition, it takes your breath away from the sight, and at such moments you stop believing your eyes.

Kitzsteichorn glacierbusiness card complex, thanks to him skiing is possible here all year round.

Piesendorf accommodates trails for beginners.

There are far fewer tourists here than in Tyrol, which will undoubtedly be appreciated by fans of a quiet holiday who don't like crowds.

In the region, restaurants are freely located, welcomingly offering the best beer and exquisite samples of high, in literally this word, the kitchen. The local Salzburg dumplings melt in your mouth, just like the Sachertorte.

Did I tell you about the chocolate-musical miracle "Mozart-Kugel"? It is in this region that the famous chocolates with the Mater profile should be bought.

Saalbach

Saalbach is a 20-minute drive from Zell am See and is considered an attractive winter destination. The resort pleasantly surprises with an abundance of trails and a convenient system for placing lifts, which makes ski safari possible here.

But personally, I like the local après ski most of all, where delicious mulled wine never ends. Together with costumed carnivals and enchanting snow shows, this is the best way spending leisure time after a day of dizzying descents.

Carinthia

This land borders Tyrol and Salzburg, and its center is Klagenfurt, population - 600 thousand people.

Fans of extreme or varied skiing in this region have nothing special to do. But real aesthetes, romantics, lovers of antiquity and fans of quiet rest will be amazed: interesting landscape, myriad picturesque valleys and mountains, a bunch of colorful lakes combined with old castles and palaces form an incredible sight. And the distinctive Austrian villages and pastoral atmosphere do not let go for a long time.

A nice bonus is that prices are lower here than in the above ski resorts, and there are significantly fewer tourists... Solid pluses!

The local ski resorts of Nassfeld and Hermagor-Pressegger See have a good base for skiing.

Styria

It is the second largest land in Austria with the capital in the city Graz... The location of the district is convenient, since it is located in close proximity to several European airports at once.

In the region there are many attractions, objects of antiquity. Good conditions here for skiers and snowboarders.

Ski region "number one" is considered here Dachstein-Tauern with its large spa center Schladming... At the same time, Schladming, Rormoos, Pichl and Haus - Ennstal are connected to each other and form a single ski area, due to which, during descents, the landscapes do not repeat, but ski travel become diversified.

Thermal resorts in Austria

The magical mountain air has healing properties, and in combination with thermal springs, the effect on the human body will be healing. Austrian thermal resorts- it is not only a luxurious wellness holiday, it is health improvement, relaxation and a pacifying atmosphere.

I want to draw your attention to the fact that all resorts in Austria, which in their name have the prefix " Bad"Are thermal. Many places combine the possibility of skiing and the use of thermal springs, which is very convenient.

The surrounding beauty and sights are also important, but the main thing that must be taken into account is the diseases that are treated at this or that resort.

My beloved Tyrol is not rich in thermal spas, here is the only such resort in the town Lengefeld. Here they treat mainly diseases of the joints and blood vessels, rheumatism and diseases associated with circulatory disorders.

Spa complex Aquadom in Lengefeld

Already mentioned Carinthia, besides, it also boasts good thermal springs, and there are a little more than sixty healing springs in the region. The largest thermal spas here are Bad Kleinkirchheim and Pitchfork.

Circulatory disorders, infectious diseases and diseases of the nervous system will be relieved as if by hand with the help of local thermal springs. Modern medical technologies, high-class equipment and experienced doctors guarantee health improvement, as well as unforgettable vacation in a comfortable environment.

In my opinion, the earth Salzburg- optimally combines the possibilities for skiing and healing with thermal waters. If in Tyrol people go skiing more, then Salzburg has excellent conditions for both treatment and skiing.

The thermal center of the district is considered Bad Gastein, which is located one hundred kilometers from Salzburg. The main wealth of the resort is the Rodon baths and mineral springs, which is used to treat the respiratory system, polyarthritis, arthrosis. Local experts have found that the content of Rodon in local adits, air humidity up to 90% and its temperature 37.5 to 41.5 have a curative effect on the body and actively use this formula.

It is preferable to settle here in the health-improving complex "Felsenbad". Unfortunately, the prices at the resort are high.

Gambling vacationers will be pleasantly surprised, because the resort has alpine casino... But to be honest, I like the local landscapes and the visiting card of the town - fantastic beauty waterfall... But most of all I am attracted by the unique opportunity for Austrian resorts to go down from ski slopes straight to the hot thermal pool. Indescribable sensations and invigorating contrast.

And if you want to visit more modern place in the region, the huge Tauern Spa in Kaprun will welcome you. It was built in 2010, so the equipment here is only the newest. Thermal Upper Austria- a region that pays special attention to healthy recreation at the highest level.

Traditional health and thermal spas such as Bad Zell, Bad Ischl or Bad Hall have long found their fans. But new places are not afraid of competition and they use heavy artillery in the fight, color baths were launched in Bad Schallerbach, the first in Austria, and the Aquapulco baths amaze with a Caribbean idyll and lure children.

Children's Baths Aquapulco

See how wonderful a holiday with children can be organized in Bad Schallerbach!

They are also actively overtaken by the ultra-modern baths of Lower Austria, which are "taken" by light performances and salt pools with underwater music, I liked the local baths of Laa). Undoubtedly a luxury wellness holiday on thermal springs gives you the opportunity to relax and improve your health, to abandon the challenges of our time, but personally I can't stand it for more than two days in such an environment - it's boring. And with health, thank God, everything is in order.

So, being in Austria and swimming for two days in a relaxing thermal pool, I go further: on skis, where there are snow-capped peaks, bright mountain sun and wind in my hair.
