What is considered the center in Evpatoria. Where is Evpatoria, how to get to the city, what places to visit. Microdistrict Old Town

Evpatoria is known as a major climatic and balneological resort, moreover, it has been a first-class health resort for children since the times of the USSR. In many ways, the city gained its popularity due to its location, because it is surrounded by water on three sides:

  • in the south it is the Gulf of Kalamitsky Black sea,
  • in the east - salt Lake Sasyk Sivash,
  • in the west - the world famous Moinak estuary.

The pride of the resort is a favorable climate, spacious and clean sandy beaches, therapeutic mud and numerous thermal springs... There are sanatoriums and children's camps to this day, and a large number of modern hotels in Evpatoria of various levels. The permanent population of Evpatoria is more than 106,000 people, but in the midst of holiday season this figure increases significantly, because many residents of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries of the post-Soviet space tend to visit the resort.

Since Yevpatoria is located not surrounded by mountains, but in the flat part of Crimea, the heat is easily tolerated here thanks to fresh breezes from the sea, which, together with a pleasant cool on a hot day, bring streams of air saturated with salts and aromas of wormwood and herbs. A few decades ago, it was believed that parks and squares could not be grown in the Yevpatoriya area due to the terrain: the land here is sandy, in places it is clayey and stony, there is not enough moisture in the summer. But despite the peculiarities of the relief and "surprises" that the weather brought, the residents of the city proved the opposite and started landscaping Evpatoria. The work was simply colossal: they laid trenches, dug holes, brought fertile soil and fertilized it, looked after literally every planted tree and shrub. And now, many years later, we see that tall cedars and cypresses, junipers, spruces and other representatives of the flora grow on the vast territories of the sanatorium parks. Evpatoria is an incredibly beautiful "green" city, there are plantations not only in parks and squares, but also on the streets of the city. Due to this, you will feel the mixture of coniferous and sea air, thanks to which you can not only relax, but also spend time with the benefit of your body. One weekend in Evpatoria will not be enough to get to know the city well, because there are as many as 5 squares, 229 avenues, streets and alleys, each of which keeps its secrets. Armed with a camera and a good mood, you will have a very interesting time here.

We have already mentioned that Evpatoria is a health resort, it is worth talking about its specialization. So, in the sanatoriums and boarding houses of the resort, they treat the metabolic organs, the spine and joints, diseases of the respiratory system and skin, and cerebral palsy. The peculiarity of the treatment lies in an integrated approach: the correct daily routine, exercise therapy, mud therapy, a specially selected diet, and treatment with pharmaceuticals is used only if necessary. It is worth noting that most of the sanatoriums have been reconstructed and equipped with modern equipment, here you will be met by qualified specialists who will prescribe competent treatment and make your stay here as beneficial to your health as possible.

The beaches of the resort should not be ignored, because they, along with the climate, are the determining factors when choosing a vacation spot. Most of the beaches are paid, but there are some that are free. Their main feature- fine sand and gentle descent into the water, for these reasons, the beaches of Evpatoria are so often chosen for families with young children. The cost of visiting a paid beach, as a rule, is 20-30 rubles, but this is already included Additional services- use of cabanas, showers, drinking fountains, equipped smoking areas. If necessary, you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, use massage services, order refreshing drinks and ice cream from nearby cafes. Please note that the best paid beaches are located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Moinaki, towards neighboring town Saki, the beaches of the "Planet" boarding house, the "Solnyshko" RC, "Magnat" others deserve no less attention. The most relaxed vacationers can visit the nudist beach "Sunny Paradise", which will cost 20 rubles, and umbrellas and sun loungers are already included in this price.

Currently, the tourist infrastructure of Evpatoria is developed at a high level: numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and discos open their doors to vacationers, amusement parks will pleasantly delight the young guests of the resort. If you decide to spend your vacation in Evpatoria, be sure - a rich program is guaranteed to you!

Without a doubt, the main attraction of Evpatoria is the Black Sea. Holidays in Evpatoria by the sea in 2020 is what many tourists come here for every year!

This sea has changed many names. They called him Scythian, Sarmatian, dark, dark blue ... But, in the end, his first name returned to him - "Black". This is what the ancient Persians called him. In their language it sounded like this: "Akhshaina". But when the ancient Greeks came here ... By the way, the Greeks were very clever - coming to a new territory, they never changed the local names of rivers, seas and lakes. The Greeks simply found a similar sounding Greek word and already translated it. The sea in Evpatoria has its own history.

So, when the ancient Greeks came to Crimea, the sea did not meet them very kindly - with storms and storms. The local population also greeted them unkindly - with arrows and spears. Considering this reception, given the name of the sea, which the Greeks have already heard - "Ahshaina" - the first Greek name for the sea sounded like "Pontos Axinos" - the sea inhospitable. What can not be said now, because a seaside vacation in Evpatoria is a fairy tale!

And only when the Greeks settled in this territory, established friendly and trade relations with neighbors, fell in love with this sea, its name smoothly changed to "Pontos Euxinos" - the Hospitable Sea. This name can be confirmed by the crowds of tourists who spent their holidays in Evpatoria on the seashore.

Concerning modern name sea - Black, then it can be easily explained. The Black Sea is the deepest of the inland seas. Its depth reaches 2245 meters, or, more simply, two kilometers. At this great depth lies the poisonous gas hydrogen sulfide. It is he who, rising from the bottom during a storm, paints the sea in black, dark shades. However, this name does not bother anyone, everyone wants to go to the sea. And what could be better than a rest on the shore in Evpatoria!

Summer vacation at the sea in Evpatoria

Vacationers have nothing to fear - where they swim, hydrogen sulfide is contained in minimal quantities that are not harmful to health. Vacation at the sea in Evpatoria 2020 is not just a pleasure. Several therapeutic factors are at the service of vacationers. First, sunbathing. A sunny day in itself can cheer you up. Wellness is a good addition to this. The sun's rays activate all functions of the body, improve well-being, increase efficiency, kill pathogenic microbes and provide the body with vitamin D. Yes, and a reminder of your stay at the resort - a tan - will delight you for a long time and irritate enemies who are forced to mask the unhealthy cyanosis of the skin with self-tanning cream.

Sand baths on the beach by the sea in Evpatoria 2020 are becoming more and more popular. In fact, this is an old remedy. "Burying" in the sand has a beneficial effect on the lymphatic and blood vessels, and promotes weight loss. Only without fanaticism! After all, one session of sand baths at a temperature of 50 ° C ensures a loss of body weight up to 500 g. The main thing here is not to overdo it and not go into a deep minus!

However, the main thing on vacation in Evpatoria by the sea itself is, of course, the actual bathing. A stunning bathing effect - hydromassage. Sea water is an experienced and meticulous massage therapist. Not a single muscle, not a single cell of the skin surface will be left without attention. The result is elastic muscles and velvety skin.

The air on the coast is saturated with iodine - you breathe and cannot breathe! Walking along the embankment is not only a pleasure, but also a healing session for the lungs smoky by the city air. Therefore, a trip to the Crimea Evpatoria and rest by the sea will make not only unforgettable, but also incredibly useful!

Evpatoria sea beaches- a real gift for kids. Golden sand, shallow water quickly warming up…. It is no coincidence that Evpatoria was long ago recognized as a children's resort.

And let the terrible nautical name... Evpatoria will give you an unforgettable vacation by the sea in 2020! Liked? Share with your friends!

During the times of the Crimean Khanate, a city was founded, which the Crimean Tatars called Kezlev (Crimean Cat. Kezlev), the Turks called Gozlev (Tur. Gözleve), and the Russians called Kozlov. After Crimea became part of the Russian Empire, the city was renamed Evpatoria, while the Crimean Tatars continued to call it Kezlev. Evpatoria as part of the Russian Empire

The Russian-Turkish war of 1768-74 put an end to the Ottoman domination and according to the Kucuk-Kainardzhiyskiy peace treaty of 1774, the Ottomans abandoned their claims to the Crimea. By the decree of Catherine II on January 19 (30), Gezlev received the status of a district town and a new name. Evpatoria, it was named after the king of the ancient Pontus Mithridates VI Eupator. The Pontic king often rescued the inhabitants of Kerkinitida during the attacks of the Scythians, sending generals with a large army.

At the beginning of the 19th century, a new port was built in the city, which became one of the largest in Crimea; in 1840, the construction of the city embankment began. By the 1840s, about 11 thousand people lived in Evpatoria. During the Crimean War, Evpatoria was occupied by Anglo-French-Turkish troops and turned into a fortified base.

In the 19th century, Evpatoria became the main cultural center Crimean Karaites. From the gradually desolate Chufut-Kale moved to the city most of population headed by gakham - the spiritual leader of the Karaite community. In 1865, the Karaite female school for girls was opened in the city.

V late XIX century Evpatoria began to quickly gain popularity as a resort. The area between the old town and Lake Moinaki began to be actively built up with summer cottages. In 1914, a tram was opened in the city, in 1915 the Sarabuz-Evpatoria railway line from Lozovo-Sevastopolskaya railroad.

By 1940, 36 sanatoriums and rest homes operated in Evpatoria. The population of the city by 1941 reached 47 thousand people. From October 31 to April 13, 1944, the city was occupied by the Nazis. May 18, 1944 from Evpatoria to Central Asia the Crimean Tatar population was deported, on June 26 - Armenians, Bulgarians and Greeks. During the occupation, more than 12,000 people were shot. During the war, the city lost about 45-55% of its population.
