Maps of the pedestrian routes of Krasnaya Polyana. Sochi pedestrian tourist routes. "From Chernorechye to Krasnaya Polyana: a hike through the mountains to the Black Sea"

When it comes to life in the mountains, lonely mountain huts and hermits who decide to leave civilization immediately appear. However, sometimes it is the mountains that become the location of popular mass objects. It is to these that we can safely refer to the year-round, which became widely known thanks to the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Many people know that here you can perfectly ride on alpine skiing or snowboarding in winter. The resort is kind of like a ski resort. In fact, the Rosa Khutor resort is an all-season one. And what to do here in the summer, you ask? Many do not really understand why they should go to the mountains in the summer and what to do here. Therefore, in my article today I will tell you how interesting your summer vacation in the mountains can be.

Summer routes in Rosa Khutor resort

Walking routes

For most tourists visiting the mountains, even regular hiking trails can become very good remedy to relieve stress and replace boring workouts at the gym. Although to some they seem to be something so unpretentious that they do not even bother to walk along the walking route. And here I decided to check on myself - how interesting (not interesting) and difficult (or easy) it is.

At the end of the Rosa Khutor resort, behind the lake and the beach, there is a point where the 3 easiest hiking routes begin - or health trails ... They are marked on the map, and the time of passage of each is indicated (by the way, in the forest of pointers - how many arrows were passed and where which route - I did not meet something, so I was guided by the time).

I decided to go along the longest one. It was not easy to go upstairs, but it all depends on the pace of walking. And every 100-200 meters there are cozy benches where you can sit down to rest. On one of them - at the waterfall - I spent, probably, about 20 minutes: before that it was good to sit, listen to the noise of the waterfall and birdsong. There is some tremendous energy in this place, because I felt such an incredible surge of energy that then I just ran up the hill.

But in fact, there is no need to rush. Around - a beautiful forest, streams and waterfalls, bizarre boulders. overgrown with moss. In general, visiting a fairy tale. These are my photos during the walk:

Rosa Khutor in summer: health trail.

Rosa Khutor in summer: visiting a fairy tale!

I spent 40-50 minutes for a walk, and received a boost of vivacity for the day ahead!

For those who find such a walk as a "kindergarten", there are more difficult alpine routes, walking along which you can plunge into the atmosphere of an untouched mountain nature, admire the rhododendron flowers blooming on the rock ledges, alpine meadows and mountain gorges where snow lies even in hot summers. For those who ascend the Rosa Peak summit by cable car, the Panorama hiking route (along the Aibgi ridge) is available, which makes it possible to climb the highest observation point in Sochi, accessible by lift - the Kamenny Stolb summit. But such routes need to be accompanied by a guide. Call these guys here and they will take you or organize other activities +79384600693.

Cycling routes

You can also spend time productively at the Rosa Khutor resort by bike. There are excellent bicycles for rent, and every 10 cabins on the lift are specially equipped for lifting bicycles. If you are afraid to ride a two-wheeled friend in the mountains, then drive on an asphalt road - for example, to cordon Pslukh ... This beautiful place belongs to the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve. Mountain streams, narzan springs, a forest rich in rare plants and flowers - that's what awaits you on this trip. Just do not forget to take your passport with you - you find yourself in the border zone, and there you will have a document check ...

Horse rides

Horseback riding is a very popular outdoor activity that provides an opportunity to see picturesque places in the mountains, which cannot be reached by car, but it is not easy to reach on foot. In addition, communicating with horses, a person is charged with good energy. In medicine, there is even such a direction - hippotherapy. And simply, riding a horse is such a rarity for us, city dwellers.

So this entertainment is also available at the Rosa Khutor resort. The resort offers 12 horses. You can either just ride a horse in a circle or take it for an hour's walk. And if there is a desire to make a day trip on horseback, then this can also be realized. There are such applications, and groups with an instructor go on horseback along an individual route.

Rafting

Rafting on a mountain river is always a challenge. A challenge to the natural elements and to yourself, in the first place. And the name of the river - Mzymta, which flows through the entire resort of Rosa Khutor, does not at all promise an easy walk: from the Circassian languages Mzymta can be translated as "crazy" river ... But for those who are not afraid, rafting on the Mzymta will give a sea of emotions and a large portion of adrenaline. Accompanied by experienced instructors, you will sail on catamarans accompanied by the sound of the water and cool splashes. You will get too tired, however, you will not have time either - the route is not too long.

Rosa Khutor in summer: rafting on the Mzymta mountain river - good fun for outdoor enthusiasts!

Yoga

The YOGA_METHOD Yoga and Massage Center was created by professional specialists of the Moscow project of the same name especially for those who are imbued with this ideology and do not want to part with their favorite yoga mat even on vacation. After all, yoga is concentration and vigor in the morning, warming up the muscles, which is important for safe skiing, a fit and slender figure. Classes in the center are suitable for both beginners and those who attend yoga regularly. Sessions of classic massage in a cozy massage room will help to recuperate after a busy day at the resort.

Beach complex Rosa Beach

For the same package, hotel guests can use all the amenities free of charge. beach area Rosa Beach in the Rosa Khutor resort, which is a lake filled with water from a mountain river, with sun loungers, a children's pool and a dining area around. However, for everyone else, the entrance will also be free, but for renting a sunbed and an umbrella you will have to pay 500 rubles per day, or 250 rubles after 4 pm.

From June 12 on Saturdays, this area will host beach parties with the participation of daring DJs. So no one will be bored!

Equipped beach in Imeretinka

But still, when the sea is only 50 km away, then, of course, you want to swim in the sea waves. The Rosa Khutor resort will provide such an opportunity to everyone from June 15th. From that day on, free shuttles from the resort will travel to its own equipped beach in the Imereti Bay. The beach is pebbly, with sun loungers and umbrellas, with a bar (only soft drinks). And the sea in Imeretinka is the cleanest along the entire Sochi coast.

To get to the beach, you can also take the Lastochka to the Olympic Park railway station, from where free shuttles will also pick you up. But if the use of the beach is free for guests of Rosa Khutor hotels (with bracelets on their wrist), then everyone else will be able to use it only by paying 300-500 rubles (depending on the duration of use).

Panda park

There are rope parks in every big city, in many resorts, and passing such obstacles has long been popular vacation... But Panda Park in Rosa Khutor is the first rope park in Russia, the obstacles of which are located at the height of a nine-story building - about 23 meters above ground level. So you can tickle your nerves well! But the safety of tourists is above all, and all equipment along the route reliably fixes you from falls. So feel free to try your hand.

The park itself is located in the mountains at an altitude of 1350 meters above sea level, which gives guests an exclusive opportunity to enjoy the magnificent views of the Caucasus Mountains while passing the routes. There are three routes available in the park. This kind of entertainment is especially good for team building, according to the park's employees.

CEC "My Russia"

Cultural and Ethnographic Center "MY RUSSIA"

If you walk to the cultural and ethnographic center "My Russia", then combine the contemplation of interesting architecture with light fitness (the center is located at the very end of the resort, if you go up, along the road, it takes 10-15 minutes, and occupies an area of 11 hectares).

The center was opened on the eve of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in order to show the guests of the Olympics the diversity of our vast Russia in miniature. For this, 11 different buildings were built in the national architectural traditions of cities and regions of Russia: the Caucasus, Suzdal, Central Russia, Krasnodar region, Moscow, Russian North, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ural, Siberia, Buryatia. The buildings house mini-hotels, shops, cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops with folk crafts.

So, as the song says, "pull your friend to the mountains - take a chance!" Well, but seriously - no risk - your friends will be satisfied with this vacation. And bright "selfies" will fly to all ends of the ubiquitous Instagram ...

See you at the resort!

For our parents, children and grandmothers, Sochi has always been a popular destination for the July-August beach holiday... For my peers, Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana are the place where the 2014 Winter Olympics took place. For me it is, first of all, nature and mountains of crazy beauty. So beautiful that a few years ago my wife and I left Moscow and now live in Sochi. In the five years since the move, I have already completed more than 70 hikes in the Caucasus and decided that I have the moral right to make something like a "Guide" to this fantastic region for any tourist and outdoor enthusiast! On this big page (please be patient and attentive), I have collected all the basic information for planning and organizing an independent trip around Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana.

To begin with, what attracted us personally to this place so much that we moved here to live?

Why Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana?

  • Mild climate and super ecology. Despite the fact that in the winter months there are often prolonged rains on the coast and snowfalls in the mountains, the climate here, of course, is many times more comfortable for life than in my native Siberia, or in the Urals or even in the central zone of Russia. There is no need to talk about ecology. There are no large industrial enterprises in Sochi, and the daily morning sea and evening mountain breezes clean the city air from exhaust gases.
  • Long hiking season. The local climate allows walking in the mountains for six months - from June to November !! And if you pay attention not only to the mountains, but also to the coast with its numerous waterfalls and gorges, then the hiking season becomes year-round!
  • Huge multi-sport opportunities. Those who love sports and the mountains can find entertainment for all tastes: classic hiking and mountain hikes, mountain biking, via feratta routes, rafting, canyoning and even "banji", rope jumping!
  • Excellent infrastructure. New Railway from the airport and railway station in Adler or Sochi, it will take you to Krasnaya Polyana in an hour, and excellent trails and even the presence of mountain shelters and campgrounds allow you to walk in the mountains with comfort and even small children and at the same time enjoy the beauty of nature. A plane from Moscow is also inexpensive compared to flying abroad (just buy in advance!).
  • Safety. May the tolerants and cosmopolitans forgive me, Sochi and its environs are fundamentally different from other regions of the Caucasus. You can be sure that you will not have any hassles with the locals. The village of Krasnaya Polyana is historically inhabited by ethnic Greeks and Estonians, and Sochi - by Armenians, who are notoriously professing not Islam, but Christianity. The share of the Russian population here, in my opinion, is even greater in Moscow.

Minuses? From the point of view of "sports" tourism and mountaineering, the only minus of the Krasnaya Polyana mountains is their low height. There are practically no serious glaciers and long vertical walls here. Also, many are annoyed by the fact that most of the Krasnaya Polyana mountains are located on the territory of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, which imposes certain difficulties with organizing hikes (more about them below), but in my opinion, the presence of a reserve is not a minus, but a plus. It's scary to imagine what would happen to these beautiful mountains, do not be they are protected by law! As for the disadvantages of the city of Sochi in terms of a place to live, I personally want more direct flights not only to Moscow, but also abroad. And a couple - three embassies European countries... Do not need anything else! But back to hiking, this is an outdoor guide after all!

5 ideas for day trips all year round

Everyone who comes to Sochi for only a few days wants to see the most interesting things. But how to do that? After all, only the length of Sochi along coastline The Black Sea is over 100 kilometers long !! (by the way, one of the longest cities in the world), and if we add to this the gorge of the Mzymta River, in the upper reaches of which there is the village of Krasnaya Polyana with new, ski resorts"Rosa Khutor", "Gornaya Karusel" and "Gazprom-Laura" ... And if we add to this the neighboring "friendly" Abkhazia .. How to manage everything?

To begin with, I will share a list of TOP 5 easy and one-day routes that are available all year round - both in winter and summer.

(1)

Walk through the relict forest along a beautifully equipped trail. Both routes are available to absolutely everyone, regardless of the level of training. It is enough to wear sports shoes. Must have for exploring the nature of the "seaside climatic zone". On hot summer days, you can even swim in the Khosta river canyon !!

How to get there: 15 minutes from bus stop"Sputnik" in Khost.

There are two circular routes - "Small Ring" (the walk will take about 1 hour) and "Big Ring" (from 2 to 4 hours).

(2)

Zmeikovsky waterfalls are unique in that even in the hottest summer months there is enough water in the Dikarka River so that you can admire their extraordinary, five (!) unlike each other, albeit small waterfalls. Fans of delicious food in nature will love the cozy restaurant at the lower waterfall.

How to get there: 10 minutes walk from the bus stop or bus number 120.

The walk through all five waterfalls and back will take from one and a half to three hours.

(3)

Walking towards the Orekhovsky waterfall is my favorite option when you want to breathe fresh air and take a break from the city. The route is simple - there are enough ordinary sneakers from the equipment and a short one - a couple of hours can be enough for a walk to the waterfall and back! In addition, the Orekhovsky waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in Sochi.

From the center of Sochi and back - from 3 to 5 hours.

How to get there: by taxi or half an hour walk from the final stop of the city bus.

(4)

A cascade of three waterfalls in the picturesque canyon of the Agura River is one of the most popular places pilgrimages of summer tourists, but these waterfalls are most beautiful in autumn and spring, when there is more water and fewer tourists!

How to get there: 20 minutes walk from the Sputnik stop (any minibus in the direction of Sochi - Adler)

The walk to the first large waterfall and back will take about 1.5 hours, if you go further with the ascent to the Prometheus rocks for at least 2.5 - 3 hours.

(5)

By some miracle, not included in all kinds of tourist guides in Sochi, the waterfalls on the Svanidze stream are not at all big, but amazing. The path to the upper waterfall constantly winds from one side of the Svanidze stream to the other, in places dangerously approaching the cliff. If you get out early, early, you can have time to go further, to the Azhek waterfalls!

Route start: final stop of bus # 102.

From the final stop to the waterfalls and back - 4 hours.

ONE DAY HIKES TO THE KRASNAYA POLYANA MOUNTAINS

Mountain hiking season in the vicinity of Krasnaya Polyana begins not earlier than mid-June when, after the snow melts in the mountains, the reserve opens routes. The best time for hiking - July-August, the period of the most stable and warm weather. After the snow cover occurs, the routes are closed again. This usually happens in the middle of October.

(1)

Ascent to the top of the Stone Pillar is the most accessible mountain walk in the vicinity of Krasnaya Polyana. A majestic circular panorama of the mountains of the Western Caucasus opens from the top, and if you're lucky, you can even see the Black Sea. Absolutely anyone can climb the Stone Pillar, since an excellent path (in fact, a dirt road), marked with signs, leads from the cable car station to the top. It is impossible to get lost.

Route start: upper station cable car Rosa Khutor.

The walk from the upper station of the cable car takes about 1.5 to 3 hours.

(2)

Thanks to a specially equipped trail and a relatively small elevation difference for the mountains, today this is perhaps the only alternative to the route to the top of the "Stone Pillar" among the easy routes available to everyone in the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana.

How to get there: by cable car "Gornaya Karusel" from Estosadok (Krasnaya Polyana).

Timing: the hike itself lasts from one and a half to three hours, plus another half hour for the ascent and descent on the cable car.

(3) Khmelevskie lakes - Achipsin waterfalls

A walk from the Khmelevskie lakes to the Achipsin waterfalls is an excellent option for a mountain walk for the whole day. To gain time and save energy, you can climb to the Khmelevskie lakes by jeeps (from 4000 rubles per car, you can arrange a transfer right at the Rosa Khutor station square).

Timing: from the end of the road to nearby lakes and back - an hour and a half, to Lake Zerkalnoye and back - 4 hours, to the Achipsi waterfalls - at least 5-6 hours round trip.

(4) Bzerpinsky cornice

Hiking to the Bzerpisnky Cornice is my favorite weekend hike in the mountains. I even wrote a small guidebook! You can climb to a height of 1600 meters by cable car, and in just two hours (constant ascent uphill) you will be in the zone of alpine meadows. Views of the surrounding peaks, blooming rhododendron and Krasnaya Polyana gorge right under your feet are guaranteed!

How to get there: station " Fir glade"cable car" Laura-Gazprom "to Rosa Khutor (Krasnaya Polyana)

From the upper station of the cable car and back - from 6 to 9 hours at a sports pace.

(5) Mount Achishkho

Achishkho is one of my favorite peaks in Krasnaya Polyana. I am also writing a hotel guide for this mountain. A panorama opens from the top Black Sea coast and a view of the Greater Caucasus.

To go to the summit and back in one day requires either excellent physical training (climb to almost 2000 vertical meters, and then the same amount for the descent is not a task for those who are weak in body) or not cheap, from 5,000 rubles for a drop-off car to Khmelevskie lakes!

LONG-DAY HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS

Multi-day hiking trips with an overnight stay in a tent - a timeless classic. Only in this format can you really take a break from the pressure of modern civilization and chat with friends while sitting by the evening fire, and not through instant messengers and social networks, because there is practically no connection on such routes :)

If you are not ready to plan the route on your own, are not sure that you will be able to correctly determine the trail, or simply do not have your own tourist equipment, in the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana there is a unique opportunity for our country - spend the night in the mountains in the pre-established tents of the Krasnaya Polyana mountain club or go children on unique trips combined with training in tourism skills! And if you want, you can rent equipment from them and go on your own.

The hikes are listed in ascending order of duration and difficulty, starting with the easiest ones.

(1) Bzerpinsky cornice - Cold camp

If you only dream of starting hiking and hiking in the mountains in particular, hiking on the Bzerpinsky Karniz is the best option for you. The equipped trail, the availability of places to rest, the availability of cellular communication make this route as safe as possible for such an experience. And the views around - you will swing. Just dress warmly, it's cold in the mountains at night!

The beginning of the route: the upper station of the cable car "Gazprom"

Duration: 2 to 4 days.

(2)

Super popular place. Especially in autumn, when all local photographers come here. If besides the lake you want to see something else (climb the neighboring peaks) - lay more days!

The beginning of the route: the village of Rosa Khutor or Engelmanovy Polyany

The lake is located both on the territory of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve and in the border zone. So you have to take care of the passes in advance.

Duration: 4 to 8 days.

(5) Abkhazia

Recently, it is Abkhazia that is my favorite region for multi-day hikes. At the height of summer, when the outskirts of Krasnaya Polyana are full of tourists, there is absolute silence, no problems with passes and border guards. Maximum scope for creativity in building multi-day routes!

Start of the route: Lake Ritsa or Gega waterfall

Duration: 3 to 7 days.

IMPORTANT! Since 2/3 of the mountains surrounding Krasnaya Polyana and Sochi are located on the territory of the Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve and in close proximity to the state border with Abkhazia, for most multi-day hikes you will need to issue two passes - from the reserve (done on the spot) and from border guards ( documents must be submitted at least one month in advance). In addition, you need to understand that walking in the reserve is only allowed along permitted routes (this is important!) And not at any time of the year (in early summer and autumn, the reserve is closed “for registration.” Scientists observe the animals and make their count. All routes listed above are on the list of permitted routes.More about the passes below.

Map of outdoor attractions of Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana

A bit of history ...

In Soviet times, the city of Sochi was practically synonymous with seaside vacations. And prestigious. Then there was neither Turkey nor Egypt ... Rest in Sochi was a kind of indicator of the standard of living. His only alternative was Crimea.
We went to Sochi and its environs not only for the sake of the sea, it was also a very party place, where all kinds of artists constantly came and gave concerts. People went on excursions and for inexpensive fruits.
In parallel with this, even then Krasnopolyana mountain tourism took place as an active form of recreation. summer time tourist camps were set up at the sanatorium. J. Fabricius. Stationary tourist tents were set up on wooden decks. Active rest in alpine camps and tourist centers with participation in difficult hikes in wild places was considered the lot of the elite, an exciting and prestigious occupation. Thanks to the state for agitation and propaganda of the romance of camp life. Hiking was believed to build a sense of collectivism and provide excellent skills that Soviet people needed. By the way, if you believe the statistics, it turns out that in the Soviet Union more than 9 million people regularly attended tourist clubs and sections! I wonder how many it is now ... This means that the number of all kinds of trips is in the hundreds of thousands. And this was when the equipment for tourism did not know any membranes or vibram ... it was heavy and little functional. The main routes of that time: passage from Krasnaya Polyana through Engelmanovy Polyany and Lake Kardyvach to Abkhazia, to Lake Ritsa; hiking along the Pseashkho ridges to the Kholodny camp; according to Aishkho; transitions to the sea.
Until 1993, having passed the hike from this camp site, one could receive the title of "Tourist of the USSR" and receive the corresponding badge. Now you can get a lot of wonderful photos for memory and 100,500 likes on social networks.
During perestroika, a lot of good things were lost ... however, let's not talk about sad things. What does Sochi mean for the current generation? For most people (and not only in Russia), this city is directly associated with the past Olympics, while Krasnaya Polyana itself has become synonymous with the Russian ski holiday... All this is so, the city has changed a lot, and the number of ski tourists in the last season just went through the roof. But in the summer, the mountains do not disappear, on the contrary, in the summer, as well as in the spring and autumn, they open up in all their glory. Fantastic views, unique nature, comfortable climate - perfect place for mountain tourism.
Where to begin? Where to go? Here is a small guide from a resident of the city of Sochi, a fan of mountain tourism, and also our marketing director Dmitry Kovinov.
But first, a few words why it is worth going to Sochi:

  • Mild climate. There are not many places in the world where the hiking season stretches for more than 6 months a year. In addition to the mountains themselves, on the coast of Krasnaya Polyana you can find many waterfalls and fascinating gorges.
  • Nice weather... If we compare mountain tourism in Krasnaya Polyana with such regions as the Sayan, Central Caucasus, Altai, Kamchatka, the Polar Urals or the Khibiny, those rare rains (although there are prolonged ones) and snowfalls may seem like manna from heaven.
  • Versatility... Krasnaya Polyana is perfect not only for classic mountain and hiking of varying complexity. There is also a place for fans of rock climbing and via ferrata routes, as well as rafting, canyoning, mountain biking and even bungee (rope jumping)! Sky Park alone is worth something.
  • Excellent infrastructure... The Olympics left a good legacy behind them. The new railway from the airport and railway station in Adler or Sochi will take you to Krasnaya Polyana in an hour, and excellent trails and equipped shelters allow you to walk in the mountains in comfort and enjoy the beauty of nature. The Moscow-Adler plane will cost you about 6,000 rubles round trip (the main thing is to pick up tickets on time).
  • Safety... Unfortunately, in the minds of many Russians, the Caucasus is not associated with the most calm place stay. However, the population of the Krasnaya Polyana region is very different from the Central Caucasus. Most of the population of Sochi - Armenians, adherents of the Christian faith, the very same village Krasnaya Polyana is historically occupied by settlers, Greeks, Estonians.
  • Low height Krasnaya Polyana mountains may seem like disadvantages to fans of technical mountaineering and ice climbing, but this makes the region extremely attractive for hikers, of whom the majority are still.
  • Variety of routes... Sochi is one of the longest cities in the world. Its length is more than 100 km. Can you imagine what kind of space? But there is also Abkhazia and the gorge of the Mzymta River nearby ...

The best hiking trails in Krasnaya Polyana and the vicinity of Sochi:

We will start with the shortest hikes, moving on to the longest. For a better orientation, we will indicate the approximate time of the route, taking into account the road from the center of Sochi and back.

Walk through the relict forest along a beautifully equipped trail. A small (1 hour) and a large ring (2-3 hours) are offered for you. Both routes are available to absolutely everyone, regardless of the level of training. Special "hiking" clothing and equipment are not required, just a T-shirt and shorts are enough, it is advisable to wear sports shoes, but this is not a prerequisite. Bring a backpack with food with you (there is no cafe on the route). On hot summer days, you can swim in the Khosta river canyon, provide a swimsuit.
This route should become a must for acquaintance with the nature of the "seaside climatic zone". Thanks to the well-arranged routes and cleanliness, the Yew-and-boxwood grove is really the best place to explore the nature of Sochi. It is very easy to get to the entrance to the grove, located, by the way, on the territory of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve.

  • Duration: from 1 hour.
  • Length: from 1.5 to 5 km.
  • Highest point of the route: 200 m.
  • From the center of Sochi and back - from 3 hours.
  • How to get there: 15 minutes from the Sputnik bus stop in Khost.

Zmeykovskiye waterfalls are unique in that even in the hottest summer months there is enough water in the Dikarka River so that you can admire their extraordinary, five (!) Unlike each other, albeit small waterfalls. The Dikarka River originates from springs and therefore these waterfalls, unlike many others located in the vicinity of Sochi, do not dry up in summer! Fans of delicious food in nature will love the cozy restaurant at the lower waterfall.
Here it is worth recalling the climate, even at the height of winter it is quite green in Sochi.
In order to see the Zmeikovsky waterfalls, you do not need any special tourist equipment. If in the last days there were no heavy rains, then you can safely go in ordinary "city" clothes. Along the right bank of the river there is a dirt road with beautiful views of the river and waterfalls. Some places are equipped with benches and gazebos. The length of the river section on which the waterfalls are located is less than a kilometer, the climb is small. So all the waterfalls can be seen in an hour and a half (half an hour - an hour up to the fifth waterfall and 15 minutes to descend to the parking lot). There is a large restaurant-cafe complex under the first waterfall.

  • How to get there: 10 minutes walk from the stop of the minibus or bus number 120 (goes from the Sochi railway station through Matsesta to the village of Izmailovka (Chaysovkhoz)). Ask the driver to stop at the falls.
  • Walk through five waterfalls and back - about an hour and a half.

Beshenka river

Just one hour of a leisurely walk from the center of Krasnaya Polyana, and you find yourself in another world filled with the sounds of a mountain forest. A great option for a small picnic in nature. A good option in any season. In February-March it is worth bringing snowshoes with you, as there can be a lot of snow!
From the center of Krasnaya Polyana and back - 3 hours.
The beginning of the route: Krasnaya Polyana village, Achishkhovskaya street, from the end of the asphalt road.

A cascade of three waterfalls in the picturesque canyon of the Agura River is one of the most popular places of pilgrimage for summer tourists, but these waterfalls are most beautiful in autumn and spring, when there are more water and fewer tourists! If you want to complicate the route, you can plan an ascent to Mount Akhun (663 m), take a tent (and all related equipment) and spend the night under the stars.
A walk along the bottom of the picturesque gorge of the Agura River takes from an hour to four, depending on what and how you want to see. If you are running out of time, the minimum plan will suit you - take a taxi to the beginning of the park and walk to the third waterfall, and then go back. An hour and a half is enough for this, the length of such a route is about four kilometers. But if you have enough time, you can leisurely climb past all three Agursky waterfalls to the Eagle Rocks (there are gazebos and benches overlooking the mountains and the sea, and even a small stall with drinks and snacks) and go down the dirt road to Matsesta.
It is worth considering that the walk takes place among the waterfalls in the gorge, so the sun gets there only limitedly - early in the morning and in the evening it is rather dark in it. So if you are planning to make a good photo shoot a tripod is highly advisable.
This place is very popular for excursions, especially on weekends, so if possible, choose a weekday. What to take? There is no need to take food, you can buy water and something for a snack in the stall. It can be very hot in summer, although the water is always cool and if you consider yourself to be freezing, you can take an extra jacket. It is enough to have sneakers on your feet.

  • From the center of Sochi and back - 3 hours.
  • How to get there: 20 minutes walk from the Sputnik stop (any minibus in the direction of Sochi - Adler).
  • You will need at least 2-3 hours to see all three waterfalls.
  • Length: 2 to 10 km.
  • The highest point of the route: 379 m (Agursky rocks), 663 m (Mount Akhun).

Khmelevskie lakes

A walk from the Khmelevskie lakes to the Achipsin waterfalls and back is a great option for those who want to walk in the mountains. The only negative is the cost of transfer to the Khmelevskie lakes. Jeeping on UAZ vehicles - from 4,000 rubles per car. You can arrange a transfer right at the Rosa Khutor station square. In addition to summer, this option is suitable for both autumn and winter.

  • From the center of Krasnaya Polyana and back - from 3 to 6 hours.
  • How to get there: from Krasnaya Polyana or Rosa Khutor by jeeps to Khmelevskie lakes.
  • Passes: not required (?).

Dry and wet canyons on the Psakho River are one of the most popular routes along the unique river canyons of Sochi. Sheer walls, waterfalls, thickets of boxwood and Colchis ivy and waterfalls make this route one of the most popular.

  • From the center of Sochi and back - from 3 to 6 hours.
  • How to get there: from Adler by bus # 121 to the stop "Kamenka 2".

Vorontsovskaya Cave is the largest cave in the Greater Sochi. Labyrinths, narrow manholes, spacious grottoes and underwater siphons can be walked in a sporty way, using mountain equipment, or you can just walk along the tourist route. The temperature inside the cave is around + 9 ° C, so dress warmly! Paid entrance.

  • From the center of Sochi and back - from 4 to 12 hours.
  • How to get there: 20 minutes walk from the village of Vorontsovka.

By some miracle, not included in all kinds of tourist guides in Sochi, the waterfalls are not at all big, but amazing. The path to the upper waterfall constantly winds from one side of the Svanidze stream to the other, in places dangerously approaching the cliff. Especially good in winter!

  • From the center of Sochi and back - 4 hours.
  • The beginning of the route: the final stop of the bus number 102.

Hiking on the Bzerpinsky cornice with climbing Mount Tabunnaya is our favorite weekend hike in the mountains. You can climb to a height of 1,600 meters by cable car, and in just two hours (constant ascent uphill) you will be in the zone of alpine meadows. Views of the surrounding peaks, blooming rhododendron and Krasnaya Polyana gorge right under your feet are guaranteed! This is probably the most beautiful one-day route in the vicinity of Krasnaya Polyana. You can walk and swim in a small mountain lake a little further than the Pseashkho pass. From the houses on the Bzerpinsky cornice to the lake about an hour one way.
The route passes through the territory of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve. A pass is required (obtained in the "Aviary complex", which is located 5 minutes' drive from the center of Rosa Khutor (taxi drivers charge 400 rubles). Plan food and water. There is water on the route only on the Bzerpinsky cornice. by yourself).

  • There is an equipped camp on the Bzerpinsky cornice. There are houses, awnings, tables, a toilet, an attic on the house.
  • From the center of Krasnaya Polyana and back - from 6 to 9 hours (it can be extended).
  • How to get there: Pikhtovaya Polyana station of the Laura-Gazprom cable car to Rosa Khutor (Krasnaya Polyana).
  • Passes: pass from the reserve.
Bzerpinsky cornice is one of the most beautiful places where you should definitely go. If you are not confident in your abilities, you can use the services of a guide at the Krasnopolyanskiy mountain club "Sport-Marathon".

Achishkho is the most accessible peak of Krasnaya Polyana, from which a fantastic panorama of the Black Sea coast opens up, the inaccessible three-thousanders of the Greater Caucasus and the Olympic ski slopes... Formally, there are two "classic" routes for climbing Achishkho - through the Khmelevskie lakes or through the upper reaches of the Beshenka river and further through the "Stone" and the meteorological station. But there is also a less popular route - through the Greek spur. The trail runs along a sharp ridge in places and extreme caution must be taken in bad weather. However, for experienced tourists this route might be interesting.

  • From the center of Krasnaya Polyana and back - from 6 to 10 hours.
  • How to get there: the route starts from the Vertodrom bus stop in the center of Krasnaya Polyana village.
  • The ascent to the summit and back usually takes two days with an overnight stay at the Achipsi waterfalls, but the athletes will have time in one. But if you are not in a hurry at all, you can walk for three days!

  • Since 2/3 of the mountains surrounding Krasnaya Polyana and Sochi are located on the territory of the Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve and in close proximity to the state border with Abkhazia, for most multi-day hikes you will need to issue two passes - from the reserve (done on the spot) and from border guards ( documents must be submitted at least one month in advance). In addition, you need to understand that walking in the reserve is only allowed along permitted routes (this is important!) And not at any time of the year (in early summer and autumn, the reserve is closed “for registration.” Scientists observe the animals and make their count. All routes listed above are included in the list of permitted routes.
  • In mid-June, routes are usually opened for tourists passing through the territory of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve. Before that, you will not be able to get a pass to enter the reserve. The exact dates change every year and they need to be clarified directly in the reserve. The site of the reserve is kgpbz.ru.
We hope that you already want to go to this wonderful place. And not only to admire the Olympic buildings. Choose a route, buy the necessary equipment and clothes and go on to the new, unknown.

The health trail (Rosa Khutor) consists of three hiking routes through the forest on the slopes of Mount Psekhako. Each of them has a different degree of difficulty. That it is not necessary to get here well - the trail starts right from the resort itself. The easiest route can be done by anyone - even a child can take it. But the most difficult one will be overcome only by the most courageous - here it is about two hours' journey through the forest.

Immediately, we note that in Greater Sochi, various health paths and terrenkurs have recently come into vogue. Therefore, if you wanted to read about the terrenkur, which is located near Sochi, then this can be done.

The entire lower slope of Mount Psekhako, along which the terrain path of Rosa Khutor goes, is dotted with trees. In fact, this is a magnificent southern forest, through which a trail stylized as these almost wild places goes. In the warm season, the trees are covered with moss, turning the forest into plush and completely green, like a fairy tale. It should be borne in mind that on any route you have to go up, and if you do not like it at all, then you can hardly handle long routes.

The local health trail is one of the best places for a summer walk.

Routes

There are only 3 routes here, each of which starts between the beach and the hotel. They also end in one place - a little upstream from the entrance.

The easiest route is only 310 meters and you can walk it in 10-15 minutes. If you take a lot of time and take pictures wherever possible, then you can walk this third of a kilometer for about half an hour. More will hardly work. Interesting places here is the minimum

The middle ring is 1630 meters and if you follow it, the road will take you about an hour and a half. There will be two springs with drinking water, observation deck, a waterfall and one yoga area. And only here there is a small lake where you can swim. The water is really very cold. In the diagram, it is marked as a font.

The Big Ring - 1970 meters. The most difficult and longest way. It will take at least two hours. There will be no baptismal font here, but there will be a Glade of Strength and another area for yoga.

Want more? No one bothers to combine all the paths into one mega-route and visit everything in general.

Where is it and how to get there

The health mountain trail is located on the territory of the steepest mountain resort Rosa Khutor. It starts from the lake beach, which can be considered a starting point.

But to go for a walk along the health trail, you first need to somehow get to the mountain resort itself. There are four ways to get to Rosa Khutor:

  • You can independently drive your car. First you need to get to the Adler airport, and then just go straight on the A148 highway. The road is quite long - 40 kilometers from the airport, and more than 70 kilometers from the center of Sochi. But the road here is new and it is a pleasure to drive along it. In general, this is the most convenient way and it is good for everyone, except that the driver will have to drive a lot and not drink alcohol. If you go on a trip alone or together, then on gasoline it will turn out to be more expensive than an electric train and even more so a bus.
  • You can take the high-speed train Swallow. If you go from Sochi, then this is definitely the fastest way and at the same time quite comfortable. Trains are never overcrowded, unless something extraordinary is happening in the city, so the ride will be quite comfortable. Of the minuses, it is more expensive than by bus and you need to adjust to the schedule, which is not always pleasant
  • Another way to get to Rosa Khutor is, of course, by bus. Here best price, there is no strict binding to the schedule and place of start. For example, you can come from Sochi (105, 105С), from Khosta and Kudepsta and heaps of stops along the way (105), and from Adler from the shopping center " New century"(135). Naturally, you can sit at any stop on the A148 highway. Separately, it should be noted that in order to get guaranteed seating, you need to go from the initial stop (Sochi bus station or New Vek shopping center in Adler).
  • Theoretically, you can come to Rosa Khutor within the framework of organized excursion... But there are no excursions from Sochi or Adler to the health path, so this option is not suitable for us in any case.
  • If you come by train, you will need to go upstream through the entire winter resort town to Mzymta Square. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes and there will be many shops along the way where you can buy something. You can identify the Mzymta square by McDonald's, which is located here. Then we cross the bridge and turn right. In a couple of minutes you will reach the next bridge. At him you need to turn left, walk along the path for another minute and then the path itself begins. You can navigate the lake beach "Rosa Khutor" located next to the trail.
  • If you come by bus, it will stop just near Mzymta Square. What to do next is described above. Where to go for those who independently arrived by car depends on where they managed to park it. In any case, be guided by the square and McDonald's.

I have been on your path. Somehow weak. Is there something more complicated?

There is always something more complicated.

Nearby there is a waterfall, the road to which is completely untouched. Once this route was popular among tourists who love leisure, but now everyone follows more comfortable routes.

You can also go to the waterfall in the Gorki Gorod resort. But not from the lift at an altitude of 960 meters, but from the very bottom. Then the path in one direction will be about 10 kilometers.

An even more challenging hike for. If he doesn't care for you, then you are enlightened and you can do anything at all.

Should I go? (and a little about reviews)

Doubt whether this place is worth your attention? To be honest, I don’t know, because, unfortunately, I don’t know you. Therefore, if you love beautiful natural places and active walks, if you like forests and mountains, then worth it. Numerous reviews that can be found on the Internet are extremely monotonous - they say that the place is really cool. But if in your understanding best rest this is lying on the couch or, in extreme cases, on the beach, then despite all the reviews, you will hardly like it here.

A few points

  • the entrance is free
  • Take food and water with you. There is nowhere to buy it here
  • This is a wonderful place. And it will be just as great if you don’t throw trash here. Respect beauty, nature and your country
  • The camera is an obligatory attribute in this trip. In addition to the beautiful forest, there are sometimes very steep views here.
  • An interesting figure: there are as many as 919 steps on all routes. This is really a lot. For girls, walking on it is a guarantee of a very beautiful priests. That's why this is the path of health in general.
  • You should not walk the trail in the rain and especially in the snow. The road can be very slippery and it is not safe.
  • If you like active rest and are not here in winter time then be sure to visit the trail. This is an amazing place. A few meters from the most perfect mountain resort in Russia ... beautiful and almost wild places begin.

The rhododendron is surrounded by myths and legends. According to one of them, the wood elves, fleeing a fire in the forest at the foot of the mountains, left their homes, climbing higher and higher along the slopes. There they were looking for a plant for a long time - a home for the night. All the plants refused to shelter the elves, referring to the fact that they had already become the abode for other animals and covered them under their crown.

The elves were angry with the plants, and even more with the animals that were ahead of them. And only the rhododendron bush received the elves hospitably. For the fact that the plant gave shelter to magical creatures, the elves generously thanked him not only with luxurious flowers, but also with a poisonous property, so that the shrub did not serve for the benefit of the animals.

And we have a great opportunity to admire this beauty, going up or down the eco trail "Valley of Rhododendrons".
