In the next couple of years, the iconostasis was made, the walls and ceiling were painted.

The main shrine of the temple is the relics of the Monk Seraphim of Sarov, in whose honor the temple was named. Reconstruction was carried out in 2009. Nowadays there is a Sunday school and a library at the church.

General information and history of the Queen

The history of Russian, and with it the world cosmonautics, would not have been so grandiose if it were not for Korolev. But now we are not talking about the city, but about the famous academician, whose name this wonderful city bears. Sergei Pavlovich Korolev, for those who did not know yet, is the chief designer of the first launch vehicles that roamed space at the dawn of the era of cosmonautics.

But Korolev (now a city) was not always Korolyov. Until July 1996, his name was Kaliningrad - it was the namesake of our Russian oasis city, with which we are separated by the territory of other states.

The history of the city begins in antiquity, when there were various settlements on its modern territory. For example, the Bolshevskoe settlement originated in the 11th century. And the first mentions of the villages of Bolshevo and Kostino were found in the scribes of the 16th century.

The history of the city itself can be connected with 1918, when the Gun Factory was transferred to Podlipki. After that, 10 years later, the village became a worker, and it was named Kalininsky. And in 1938 it became the city of Kaliningrad.

Since the 30s, the city has been associated with military equipment, it housed two secret enterprises, aviation and artillery. During the war, since 1942, the history of the modern corporation "Tactical Missile Armament" begins. And already since the 50s, enterprises have emerged that will later become the basis for the development of the rocket and space complex.

Korolev is unofficially called the capital of Russian cosmonautics, and he has every right to do so. It is here that the famous Mission Control Center and Rocket and Space Corporation Energia successfully operate to this day.

Since 2001, Korolev has received the status of a science city, because prominent scientists in the field of astronautics live and work here, and in general, the level of education of the townspeople here is one of the highest in Russia. It is also interesting that Korolev is associated with the implementation of such significant programs in the history of astronautics as Soyuz - Apollo, International Space Station and Interkosmos.

Climate and ecology Queen

The climate of the city is comfortable, typical for the Moscow region. In January, the average temperature is -10 ° C, and in July + 17 ° C.

Residents of Korolev were lucky with natural resources in the form of rivers and forests. According to the city administration, 33% of its territory is occupied by parks, squares and green spaces.

Most of the city is located between the Klyazma and Yauza rivers, and in the southeast, its territory includes National park"Elk Island", in which there are many different trees and birds, hares, wild boars and, of course, elk and other animals.

The ecological state of the city would be much worse if it were not for these saving trees. They purify the air as best they can, and without this the health of local residents would be at risk. After all, the city can still be called an industrial city, and the main pride of the Queen - the Rocket and Space Corporation is its main polluter. And, of course, numerous cars contribute.

But the historical development of Korolyov precisely as a center for research and development allowed him to avoid the creation of environmentally hazardous industrial zones. And the enterprises that exist here are not the most harmful ones that could be and that exist in many cities near Moscow.

Population Queen

There are really a lot of cars in the city, not only because through it you can go to the Yaroslavl highway, but also because a large number of people live in the city itself. Korolev is one of largest cities Moscow region, as of the beginning of 2014, 187.8 thousand people live in it.

As noted above, in terms of education, the kings are in the first place among the cities of Russia. In this city, the layer of the intelligentsia is quite significant, because the city has the status of a science city for a reason. More than twenty scientific organizations continue their research in Korolev to this day, and there is a university, and not only branches of Moscow ones.

But there are also many ordinary workers in the city, because this is still industrial city, in it there are many enterprises of various orientations. Korolev occupies one of the most favorable positions in comparison with other cities of the Moscow region and among its inhabitants more people with a high level of income. This year the average salary was about 35 thousand rubles, although in the past it was 12 thousand more and was in second place in the region. Perhaps, in the future, the average income level will return to its previous positions.

Most of the residents of the Queen are very fond of their city, know and are proud of its history. New events and exhibitions are often organized in local museums. It is not surprising that Cosmonautics Day is especially popular among the holidays in this city - it is celebrated here grandly and for more than one day.

Also, the city is distinguished by the great love of local residents for the original gardening of the streets. On Koroleva Avenue, near the Park of Culture and Leisure and in other parts of the city, you can find the most unexpected compositions of plants that delight the eye and amuse passers-by. These green sculptures can be called one of the city's landmarks.

Areas and properties of the Queen

Administratively, Korolev is not divided into separate districts, it is administered centrally, but it has historically established names for various territories of the city, as well as official names microdistricts.

In total, five large districts can be distinguished, which include several micro-districts, somewhere more, somewhere less. Moreover, it is noteworthy that inside the Queen there is a separate city of Jubilee. It is surrounded on all sides by the city of Korolyov, but, nevertheless, it is considered not its area, but an independent settlement.

The central district of Korolev includes its old part - the Podlipki and Novye Podlipki microdistricts. The microdistricts took their name from the village, from which the history of the city began. One of the main transport arteries runs through the district: the beautiful and always well-groomed Korolev Avenue with a monument at its head, as well as the Cosmonauts Avenue.

The name of the city and its two main avenues reflects well its essence - this is the city of cosmonautics. To this day the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia im. S.P. The Queen, who is engaged in the development of almost all types of rocket and space technology.

In connection with the direct relation to astronautics, Korolev developed his own history, unlike the history of other cities. And they tell about it vividly and fascinatingly in the city history museum, which is located in the Central Palace of Culture. M.I. Kalinin.

And in the Kostino microdistrict there is another museum, but this time a local history museum, which was opened on the basis of a museum dedicated to the leader of the revolution. Lenin lived there in the winter of 1921-22. And earlier this building was the home of the estate manager of the owner of the chocolate factory.

At the Central House of Culture. Kalina stretches Central park- a favorite place for walking among most kings. In general, the residents of Korolev have a very large selection of places for walking, because the city is surrounded by forest and there are many trees on its territory.

The historical part of the city is extremely attractive for developers, so there are many new buildings, and the prices for apartments in them, of course, differ from apartments on the outskirts. For a square meter here you will have to pay at best about 80 thousand rubles. And if you buy an apartment on Korolev Avenue, it will cost 110 thousand rubles per square meter. On the outskirts, you can buy an apartment for 60 thousand rubles per square meter.

The Bolshevo district with the Bolshevo, Burkovo and Committee Les microdistricts adjoins the central part of the city. It can also be attributed to the historical part of the city, because there used to be an ancient settlement here, founded in the 16th century. Later, Akhmatova, Tsvetaeva and Pasternak lived in this part of the city.

The main religious buildings of the Queen are also concentrated in the area: the Church of Cosmas and Damian, the chapel of Alexander Nevsky and the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity.

The area is also considered prestigious, like the Central one, and apartments are sold here at a high price. There are both new buildings and secondary housing. Houses located close to the Bolshevo railway platform, from which you can reach Moscow in 37 minutes, are especially appreciated.

The microdistrict "Pervomaisky", included in the territory of the district of the same name, can be called a summer cottage area, since it is mainly built up with private houses. The land here has long been in demand precisely for summer cottages.

Also in the microdistrict there is an old "Factory named after May 1", founded in 1829. The company "Tekstilkomplekt" also operates here, which is engaged in the production of cushioning and adhesive materials.

The territory of the district also includes the settlements "Starye Gorki" and "New Gorki". And the kings call this entire territory simply "hills". Here in 1959 the summer residence of the famous Soviet architect M.I. Merzhanov, where he lived for many years. Thus, the area is primarily known as a territory for summer cottages.

The Tekstilshchik area got its name from the Royal Silk Factory “The Advanced Textile Worker”, whose fabrics have been in demand in the imperial court since the end of the 19th century.

The microdistrict "Committee Forest" is also referred to the territory of the district, although part of it can also be attributed to "Bolshevo". The microdistrict is located near the park of the same name, and most of it belongs to the city of Yubileiny.

A significant area of the district is built up with elite townhouses and cottages, and a house there can hardly be bought for less than 13 million rubles. But closer to the committee forest, multi-apartment new buildings already prevail, where a two-room apartment of a small footage can be bought for 4.5 million, and if the same apartment is in an old house, then you will save about 700 thousand rubles. The price for economy class town houses starts at 6 million.

The Peat Razorbotki district is located in close proximity to the large natural complex Losiny Ostrov National Park, or rather, part of it is included in the territory of the district.

Also there is a settlement "Central", the former name of which was "Peat enterprise". The kings call this territory simply "peat bog". The village is considered almost abandoned; the only road that has not seen repair for a long time leads to it. Even the wonderful nature of these regions cannot improve the fate of the village, because the construction of elite houses here is difficult because of the protected area of the National Park.

City infrastructure

Residents of Korolev, like all Russians, probably, suffer from the poor quality of the roads. The main avenues of the city are still maintained in good condition, as huge flows pass through them every day. But if you drive to the outskirts, then cracks and holes cannot be avoided. The queens regularly write complaints to the administration and sometimes they even listen to them and speed up the repairs.

But a new traffic intersection on the Yaroslavskoe highway and its expansion, which significantly reduced the number of traffic jams, may be a positive moment. But at rush hour they still cannot be avoided. At the entrance and exit to the city (depending on the time of day) and along the main highways (especially on Pionerskaya Street) Korolev columns of cars line up. These are mainly people traveling to work from the Oblast to Moscow and back. It is only 6 kilometers from the Korolyov himself to the Moscow Ring Road, but due to congestion, the road there may even take an hour.

Public transport in Korolev is electric trains and buses that will take you to Moscow and the nearest cities and towns. There are also buses that run only within the city. Once upon a time, residents had a hope for the appearance of trams and trolleybuses, but, unfortunately, this initiative did not materialize. The journey by train to Moscow takes about 40 minutes, and if you use the high-speed train "Sputnik", you can get there in 25 minutes.

The status of the science city has its impact on the state of secondary and preschool education. There are enough schools in the city where you can get a really high-quality education, and there is no acute shortage of kindergartens. True, it may arise in connection with the active development of the city with new buildings, but most of these houses belong to the "business class", and therefore one can hope that the construction educational institutions will keep up with the pace of home construction.

Higher education can be obtained at the Royal Institute of Management, Economics and Sociology, International Space University. Tsiolkovsky and in the branches of Moscow universities. And also in the city there are several institutions of secondary specialized education. But you can go to study in Moscow, because if you think over the route well, the journey will not take much time. And the University of Civil Engineering (MGSU), for example, is located right along the Yaroslavl highway.

The condition of the houses, even on the secondary market, is quite good, because they were built mainly for settlement by scientists and qualified engineers, and therefore built them conscientiously. And today the city is generally clean and well-groomed, there are many trees and beautiful flower beds. And new houses are also being built for buyers with good incomes, because apartments here are among the most expensive in the Moscow region.

As for hospitals, the main problem here (as in most Russian cities) - lack of staff. And the institutions themselves seem to be enough. There are several hospitals, six polyclinics, neuropsychiatric and narcological dispensaries, and a maternity hospital in the city.

Enterprises and work in Korolev

The main backbone enterprise in the space capital is, of course, RSC Energia. The famous manufacturer of rocket and space devices today is rumored to be more engaged in prostheses and vacuum cleaners, but it does not lose its prestige.

However, the entire scientific and production complex of the city has more than 1200 large, medium and small enterprises, and more than half of the residents are employed in them.

The largest ones, among which, in addition to Energia, are the Tactical Missile Armament Corporation, the Scientific and Production Association of Measuring Techniques and the Central Scientific Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, employ academics and professors. And the management of the enterprises is trying to attract young scientists to work.

The world-famous Mission Control Center, from which the Soyuz-Apollo flight was controlled, still operates in the city. The center is engaged in space flight control and now, and also conducts various research.

For those who are not keen on the romance of space, there are still many enterprises in the light and food industries. For example, the rather well-known producer of sausages and other meat and fish delicacies "Metatr" is located in Korolev. Also in the city there is a bakery "Kaliningradkhleb" with a hundred-year history.

Despite the large number of enterprises, a significant proportion of city dwellers prefer to work in Moscow, albeit losing time on the road. Although in Korolyov itself, in addition to work in the industry, there are many options for employment in the field of trade and services. The city has a large number of large and medium-sized trading floors.

Among the most popular shopping centers you can name: "Moscow Region", "Saturn", "Jupiter", "Royal Passage" and others. The city is also expected to open a Globus hypermarket soon. Dixie and Vesta remain popular shops for shopping for food for every day. And the young Queen prefers to go to Moscow or Mytishchi to the Red Whale for clothes.

Crime

The city's crime rate is well below average. This fact is connected with the same status of the city, which was originally conceived as a research center. But, of course, there remains domestic crime, the machinations of officials and businessmen, petty hooliganism, drug addiction, although not in critical quantities.

At times, the residents of the Queen are annoyed by guests from neighboring countries; various crimes have been associated with them more than once. And also more than once there were fires in popular trading floors, and the kings suspect that this could very well have been deliberate arson.

In general, if you follow the basic rules of personal safety and do not walk alone in unlit back streets on the outskirts of the city, nothing bad should happen in the Queen. The city is considered one of the safest to live in.

Sights of the city of Korolev

The main attractions in the city are connected, of course, with space. First of all, this is the museum at RSC Energia, where in the spacious showroom there is an opportunity to admire fascinating rockets and satellites up close. The Mission Control Center also has its own museum.

In Korolev, in addition to historical museums, you can also go to the Tsvetaeva house-museum and many others. And for those who are not fond of history, the city offers a huge number of different restaurants and cafes, as well as numerous nightclubs. True, there is only one cinema in the city and another separate 3D cinema. But there is a Youth Theater and a drama theater. And there are plenty of places where you can play billiards and bowling.

Sports fans will have a really large selection here - there are many fitness clubs and various sports clubs, several stadiums and skating rinks in Korolev.

In city parks and in Losiny Island»It is pleasant to go skiing in winter and just to walk in summer. The kings also love to walk around the Akulovskiy Vodokanal or simply the "canal", in the Committee forest and on the banks of the Klyazma. And in Podlipki there is a beautiful and bright children's town where kids frolic so energetically for hours.

If we draw one general conclusion for the city, we can say that living in Korolyov is good, although in recent years it has become expensive. It is likely that the day is not far off when Korolev will become one of the districts of Moscow, and then it will be even more expensive to live here. But at the same time, it is more comfortable. After all, a lot is being done in the city in order to improve it. Queens really love their city and this is not in vain!

Many of us want to get acquainted with the history of other cities, their memorable places. But most simply do not have time for this. After all, the road, excursions and rest can be delayed for a long time. But why go far? You can carve out a day and go to the nearest town in your area.

This article is intended for Muscovites. Not far from the capital is located a beautiful city Korolev, the sights of which we will consider. Various sightseeing tours and sightseeing tours are quite popular here. So, let's find out what this city is famous for and consider the sights of the city of Korolev, Moscow Region.

The first thing S. Korolev is associated with is rockets, the first flight into space, Gagarin. But there is also a city in the Moscow region, which bears the name of the great scientist and designer.

History

In the twelfth century, several villages of Slavic tribes were located on the territory of the settlement, scattered along the coast of the Klyazma River. It is believed that this area was the location of an old trade route connecting the principality of Moscow and Vladimir-Suzdal. At the beginning of the eighteenth century, one of the first industrial enterprises in Russia was launched in this place - a manufactory producing linen and broadcloth. In 1918, the Gun Factory from Petrograd was moved to the territory of the summer cottage village of Podlipki.

Podlipki appeared as a summer cottage village at the end of the century before last, after which the name was changed three more times: in the twenty-eighth year of the last century - the village of Kalininsky, in the thirty-eighth year - the city of Kaliningrad. And in 1996, in honor of the general designer of rocket and space systems, S.P.Korolev, it was renamed the city of Korolev. Its attractions are closely related to the history of the name.

The structure of Kaliningrad includes two more settlements- Bolshevo and Kostino. They have an entertaining history that has become an integral part of the annals of Kaliningrad-Korolyov. For more than three hundred years, the Bolshevsk land had the fame of an ancient center of weaving production. The nascent Russian fleet was equipped with a sail from Bolshevo during the time of Peter the Great.

Kostino became known in the country and abroad for the presence of a labor commune of homeless children, which was organized in the twenty-fourth year of the twentieth century at the suggestion of "Iron" Felix.

Now let's move on to the main thing. Let's start describing the sights of the Queen.

Mission Control Center

It was founded in October 1960 in this town as a computing center that allows you to process and analyze information received from the first space devices.

At the present time, the Center is still functioning and manages the flights of the department of the Russian part of the International Space Station, both manned and operating in automatic mode.

The MCC staff will help organize visits to the center for both Russian and foreign citizens. During your trip to this sight in the city of Korolev, you will visit the hall from which, for the last fifteen years, you controlled the orbital station Mir, crowned with laurels. You will also be able to see the Main Flight Control Hall of the International Space Station, and most importantly, it is rare for anyone to observe the work on the control of the orbital complex in real time.

You will hear many different stories about the arrangement and activities of the Center, you will be able to watch fascinating videos about the life of astronauts in orbit, but nothing beats the opportunity to observe the control of the orbital station in real time.

Museum of space technology

The name of this attraction, the Queen of the Moscow Region, speaks for itself. Here are collected exhibits characterizing the history of the creation of our rocket and space technology: from the primary Soviet long-range ballistic missiles to the Energia launch vehicle and the Sea Launch strategic rocket and space complex, from the early artificially created Earth satellites to piloted space transport ships of various modifications.

The museum is represented by a showroom, the Hall of Labor Glory and the S.P.Korolev Memorial Room.

Exhibits

In the showroom of this attraction, Korolyov, there is a lot: rockets, satellites, and the whole history of Russian and Soviet rocket and space technology unfolds before your eyes.

The Hall of Labor Glory is a story in the faces of those people who made it, but remained behind the scenes, the history of ordinary hard workers, without which the ideas of great scientists and designers would be very problematic to bring to life. Everything is present here: photographs, documentary sources, awards, mementos, etc.

In the Memorial Room of S.P. Korolev, the everyday life of an ordinary person is displayed, everything that was required for an ordinary person in modern conditions to create.

In addition, a visit to any Korolev attraction is not just an opportunity to touch history, it is a chance to observe it. Seeing and touching the apparatus on which Yuri Gagarin returned home is something that cannot be conveyed in words. And full-scale models of the original interethnic orbital complex "Soyuz-Apollo" and the station located in orbit, "Salyut", by their similarity, give an opportunity to touch the history of mankind.

Royal History Museum

Be sure to visit the Royal History Museum. In it you will find models of flight equipment, cars from the Great Patriotic War, prototypes of combat missiles, artillery pieces, various photographs and documents.

The museum also tells about the contribution of the inhabitants of the city of Korolyov to the development of defense and science. The exhibits tell about the life of summer residents at the beginning of the last century, who went through the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War. The space-rocket time of the city's development is represented by models of various combat missiles, spacecraft and ships.

Memorial House-Museum of S.N.Durylin

The Historical House-Museum of S.N.Durylin is a museum of all-Russian general educational significance. Sergei Nikolaevich Durylin was a writer, theater and literary "critic" (as he called himself) of the first half of the last century.

His house in Bolshev was built at the beginning of the twentieth century, based on the surviving remains of the destroyed Passionate Monastery. Trinity Church

Trinity Church was erected in 2007 on the territory of the Valentinovsky field. In 2003, a wooden church in the name of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity was erected, and in 2005 it was consecrated. In the same year, construction began on a large parish two-story brick building in the style of pre-Mongol temples.

The laying of the first stone of this landmark of the Queen was made by Archbishop Gregory of Mozhaisk in November 2006. In the same year, the lower church was erected in honor of the Nativity of the Holy Prophet John the Baptist, Saint Spyridon of Trimyphus. Sunday school is open, a library with the possibility of video viewing.

The church houses the miraculous icon "The image of Christ the Savior not made by hands", and the Matrona of Moscow, a large icon of the saints, the icon of the rector of the church John Monarshek, which is an exact copy of the Rublev Holy Trinity.

The science city of Russia, the space capital of Russia ... Such loud names refer to a small town in the Moscow region of Korolev. The city was named after Academician Sergei Pavlovich Korolev, the founder of practical cosmonautics.
