Few people know about Ke Ga (Vietnam). Most often, tourists come here on an excursion from Mui Ne to look at the old lighthouse built by the French in late XIX century. But this place is unique even for such an exotic country as Vietnam.

How to get there?

The village of Ke Ga on the map of Vietnam is located near Mui Ne (Phan Thiet). However, in reality, this distance is not so small, about 30 km. to the south. Moreover, public transport in Ke Ga is not developed, you will need to use a taxi service or rent a motorbike. This has both a disadvantage and an advantage of a resort town. On the one hand, from Mui Ne, where all the main entertainment is concentrated, it is quite a long and expensive journey to this secluded village, but, on the other hand, such a remote location makes Ke Ga a closed and intimate place where you can enjoy a quiet romantic vacation.

If you decide to make a trip to Ke Ga and get to know the famous old lighthouse, which, by the way, is still active, then you can purchase this excursion in Mui Ne. Several Russian-speaking travel agencies are at your service. You can independently organize a trip to the island with a lighthouse, but in this case, be prepared to drive first fifty kilometers by taxi from Mui Ne, and then hire a boat or boat. If you are lucky, and during your visit there will be low tide, then you can reach the lighthouse in 15 minutes on foot. If you wish, you can climb the Kega lighthouse itself (Vietnam), breaking 184 steps up the spiral staircase... Your efforts will be more than rewarded with wonderful photos that you will certainly take against the backdrop of this perhaps the most beautiful lighthouse in all of Southeast Asia.

If you have chosen Ke Ga as your holiday destination, it is best to purchase air tickets to Ho Chi Minh City. Tour agencies will provide organized travelers with a bus or car transfer to the hotel, while independent tourists will have several options to choose from:

  • get to the city of Phan Thiet by train, on railway station take a taxi and drive to the hotel in Ke Ga,
  • get to Phan Thiet by intercity bus, and then again by taxi to the hotel,
  • order a taxi directly from the airport (it is expensive, but it will save time and effort).

Get ready for enough long road... Even a taxi will take about 6 hours.

Where to stay?

There are enough hotels in Ke Ga (Vietnam), despite the remoteness of the resort and its not too great popularity. The settlement is gradually being built up, and soon its infrastructure will become richer and more diverse. But do not be afraid that you will find yourself on the "great construction site". On the contrary, this place is quiet and secluded, with beautiful landscapes, wide beaches, where you can feel at one with nature.

Another feature of the village: hotels here are located at a significant distance from each other, which further contributes to peace and quiet. And you will not find discos with noisy restaurants in Ke Ga. There are no entertainment places in this cozy village, but there are cleanest sandy beaches and a riot of natural colors.

The choice of hotels is wide enough: from inexpensive to fashionable. The best hotels Ke Ga in terms of price-quality ratio are:

Accommodation prices in this resort area are lower than in Mui Ne, this is due to the remoteness of the village from the noise of civilization. And this is another argument to choose Ke Ga for a vacation in Vietnam.

When to go?

The weather in Ke Ga (Vietnam) contributes to the long beach season. The sea water temperature does not drop below + 23 ° C (in January), and in May it even heats up to + 28 ° C. Changes in air temperature are also not too significant: from + 29 ° C in January (at night to + 20 ° C) to + 35 ° C in summer.

When choosing a time of rest, you need to be guided by the rainy season, which begins in June and ends in October. It can get very rainy here at this time. It is better to choose a vacation period from November to February. Then a clear sky and a comfortable temperature will be guaranteed. It doesn't rain here in spring either, but it gets quite hot.

sights

There are only two attractions in the vicinity of the village:

  • Ke Ga lighthouse, which was described above.
  • Mount Taku.

Mount Taku is primarily famous for the statue of the Reclining Buddha. This original image of a deity, about 40 meters long, is visited by thousands of tourists every year. You can get to the Reclining Buddha from the foot of the mountain along cable car and then walk up the stairs.

Things to do in Ke Ga:

  • walks (walking and cycling),
  • fishing (and if you don't like fishing, be sure to buy it from local fishermen),
  • swimming in the sea and sunbathing,
  • spa treatments.

As you can see, rest in Ke Ga promotes tranquility and unity with nature. But, if you want to see the sights or have some fun, you can always take a taxi to the bustling Phan Thiet.

Having discovered the Ke Ga resort, you will get an unforgettable experience of the local natural flavor! And, returning home, you will surely remember the days spent in this Vietnamese outback as some of the happiest!

Resort town Ke Ga in Vietnam

Looking for a place to romantic getaway pay attention to the small southern resort Vietnam - Ke Ga. This is the correct name, but it is commonly referred to as Kega. This fishing village stretches along sea coast a few kilometers from the resort of Phan Thiet. A gentle sea, lush greenery, a secluded beach. This is all you need for a quiet holiday away from noisy resorts.

Kega is located 180 km from Ho Chi Minh City and 40 km from Phan Thiet. You can get here by bus from Ho Chi Minh City. You will spend about 6 hours on the way. For entertainment from Keg to Phan Thiet or Mui You don't have to take a taxi, and this pleasure is not cheap. Therefore, you need to be prepared for complete solitude and the absence of any evening entertainment.

The town has a great tourist future, the village is gradually being built up with hotels. Today there are already resorts from 3 to 5 stars. The hotels are located at a great distance from each other, so you will not see a large crowd of people here.

What to see?

Outside the hotel areas, there are several cafes, restaurants and a couple of shops. The resort is perfect for those who like to relax surrounded by nature. Walking along the beach will be a real pleasure. Cape Kega, after which the village and resort are named, is a very picturesque and remarkable place.

At high tide, the water separates from it an islet called Hon Ba. It is tiny, measuring only 2.5 square meters. km. But on it is one of the attractions of South Vietnam - the Kega lighthouse. His project was created by a French architect, and built locals in 1899 from granite, which was brought from France. The lighthouse is still in operation, its illumination range is 22 nautical miles.

At low tide, it can be reached on foot along a narrow sand spit... Tourists love to climb to the very top of the lighthouse (which is 64 m, together with the height of the rock on which it stands), where it is equipped observation deck... From above it is good to admire the dawn, painting the sea in magical pink tones. It is considered the oldest and most beautiful lighthouse in all of Southeast Asia.

On the map below you can see the location of the Ke Ga lighthouse.

The island consists of many stone piles bizarre shapes- it was water and wind that tried. The place is considered one of the best in the south for photo shoots.

You can buy excursions to the Red and White Dunes or go on a two-day tour to Ho Chi Minh City. All excursions that are offered at the more lively resorts - in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet - are available from Keg.

Good afternoon everyone. I decided to write a review "hot on the trail" while I remember the details and fresh emotions. Where to begin? Probably from the location of the hotel - it is located in the Ke Ga area, this is a remote place not far from the Vietnamese attraction of the Ke Ga Lighthouse. I must say right away that they drove us from the airport to the hotel for 5.5 hours, after almost 3 hours of standing on passport control at Cam Ranh airport, baggage claim and sorting by the tour operator by bus (Pegasus). So those who are afraid of a flight (10 hours) should be afraid not of a voyage across the sky, but of the subsequent road to the hotel. From the pros - the place is a real chill-out and game - unlike Mui Ne, where the names are already all in Russian. This is real Vietnam, baby. The hotel has a ushatan room fund, in some places obscenely - "walking tiles" underfoot, dry furniture, dirty and torn bed headrests, cracks in the windows. Speaking of windows, on the very first day after check-in, I opened the window, but it was no longer destined to close it - it was jammed tightly. I reported this to the reception, they promised to figure it out, but never did. In the evening they just dropped that tomorrow (not today) they could offer another number, which was done. Okay, not fatal, breathe sea air... The air conditioner is good, but it hangs right above the bed (I had a baby sleeping there), so don't expect to turn it on at night, you'll get cold). There is no TV in the hotel in Russian, channels in English with Vietnamese voice acting or subtitles. The TV itself is new, in theory you can even connect HDMI to it, but they won't give you a remote control to switch the signal source, but I think you’ll get out ... They are cleaned very well, the staff is friendly and loves children. The views from the rooms to the sea (at least in the one where we lived) are bombastic, good balconies, but literally a meter-high piece of glass shares with neighbors, so if they smoke or like to speak out loud at night with the moon, get ready or not sleep, or something else. There is no entertainment from the word at all (in fact, there is some kind of karaoke over the restaurant), so here you can help yourself. But a good wifi, which, however, sometimes lags a lot (when full occupancy). Once I called the reception and asked to do something with the Internet, they promised to fix it and asked for my number - someone would come to fix it. What to fix and where I have it in my room, I still do not understand. The Internet did not get any better :) The beach is microscopic between two heaps of stones and this is generally a huge story, a very big minus of the whole rest. The fact is that there is a fairly long sandbank, and the buoys retreat from coastline meters by 5-10, depending on the ebb or flow. The guard is hellishly strict and whistles every time you step over the cable (yes, you step over, not swim). The study of the issue showed that the bottom has changed near the hotel over the past two years and a whirlpool has formed, which pulls people under the water. There were cases of drowning (somewhere in Mui Ne, just during our vacation, 4 Vietnamese students drowned) and after that such strict rules were introduced - so decide for yourself whether you need a hotel with the sea or just get your feet wet. I was with children and that was great, my wife and I fed ourselves to midges and other insects on the beach on sun loungers (there are only 10 of them under the roofs). For reference, there is an awesome beach nearby, it's a kilometer away and there is no one with a whistle, I swam there without problems, I didn't get sucked in anywhere (maybe I was lucky, I don't know), but in general, everything is at your peril and risk. Shl. When we drove along the shore, an excavator rode and dug the beach - so there may be a chance for some improvement, since the low tide in the last two days made swimming impossible - the shallow was already 10 meters after the buoys, which hung lifelessly on poles. At high tide, there is no clean beach floods with garbage, I did not see the people who clean it - I did it myself until I lost this battle to the sea and ran shamefully into the pool to the Chinese. Another pain of the hotel is the restaurant. It's expensive, not very tasty. They asked for freshly squeezed juice without ice (for reference, ice is not made from bottled water and no one can guarantee its purity, he took this habit for himself from Cambodia). They brought half a glass with a smirk (they say we weren’t made with a finger either), I didn’t go to the restaurant anymore - because it’s not good. Walk along the road - there is a restaurant with prices 2-3 times lower, the conditions are Spartan and a lot of flies, but no one bothers to take food to go or to the beach. Tripadvisor is full of recommendations. We never got to the spa, captured by the restaurant's service. The pools in the hotel are very good, with salt water (chlorine is still poured), there are many different levels, but there are no slides - the children were delighted. The bar did not work because it was out of season, in general, half of the hotel at this time (August) was still in suspended animation, in some places fountains did not work, the bowls of small pools were not filled. In general, be prepared for the fact that this hotel is for locals and Chinese. There are few compatriots and therefore no one speaks Russian, only weak English. At the same time, they are very sincere and smile a lot. On weekends, the locals occupy all the rooms and shout their Vietnamese songs from the balconies and smoke until morning, play cards on the balconies - I fought like a lion, but this is their culture ... you can't help it. Transport. There is a shuttle bus to Phan Thiet, but the time of its departure is solely for the convenience of the staff, who are dragged about their business somewhere in the city (the driver is bombing along the way, so people from bus 6 will keep you company, description below). The last shuttle bus goes there at 16.20, and from there at 21.00. We rode local buses numbered 1 (decent red with air conditioning, but the chance of meeting him is negligible) and 6 (crazy bass, everything is open, including the doors, the roof is leaking, and the locals smoke right in the cabin and the conductor lights them up :) ))). A taxi from Phan Thiet to the hotel costs about 300 thousand dongs, if you bargain - according to the counter 340-400 thousand. By the way, if you hope to call a taxi from the hotel to fishing village, where the Lighthouse and the market are (4 km), then relax - for the sake of such a taxi from the city it will not go to you and the administrator will kindly offer you to use either a shuttle (departure at 6:00, return at 8:00), or a crazy bass :) the tour operator (Pegasus) is slightly dismissive to the residents of the hotel - there are not many Russian people going there, so our guide, smiling at all 32, said that he had come to us on the first and last time... I had to book excursions from the wheels, we felt a little under the pressure of our guide's indifference. He did not give us any big information either, so on top, - Phan Thiet did not know very well. The excursions turned out to be quite good, although this is already offtopic and has nothing to do with the hotel. As for the work of the hotel administration, everything is at the level, there were no serious complaints, traditionally in a southern, leisurely way, of course, but we did not come here to rush). I do not publish the photo, as I am everywhere with my family.

A resort for a calm family vacation... There is little entertainment for young people. With young children, the road is too tiring.

The flight Moscow-Ho Chi Minh takes about 10 hours. The transfer will take approximately 4-5 hours.

Tours to Phan Thiet are slightly cheaper than to Nha Trang.

The beaches in Phan Thiet are covered with fine sand.

Worth committing sightseeing tour in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), the city of Dalat, see the lotus lake, ride "ice floes" from the multi-colored dunes, visit coffee plantations. Be sure to take a photo of the Reclining Buddha (the largest Buddha figure in Vietnam).

There are floating markets where you can buy fruits and vegetables, inexpensive high-quality clothing, world-famous Chon coffee. There is a large supermarket COOP Mart.

Mostly tourists choose hotels with 3 and 4 stars. Service in them is higher than similar European ones. The hotels are right on the shore.

In hotels, usually only breakfast is offered, there is also half board, there is practically no all-inclusive system.

Russian speaking staff are found, but very rare. Used for communication English language... There is no animation in hotels.

On the beach, umbrellas and sun loungers are free in almost all hotels.

The dry season lasts from November to April, but there are often high waves. The best time for surfing - from August to December. May to October " wet season", In which the waves are much smaller.

About Vietnam

You do not need a visa to travel to Vietnam.

The plane flies from Moscow to Vietnam at about 9 hours.

Holidays in Vietnam are especially popular in autumn, winter and spring.

Most of the tourist flights from Russia arrive at the Nha Trang airport. The bus transfer to other resorts in Vietnam can take 4-8 hours. If you are not satisfied with a long transfer, then it is better to choose a resort.
