Useful travel information about the Philippines

The Philippines is a fabulous country, on the one hand - with a developed infrastructure on the other - Russian tourists, and even more so Primorsky, not crawled. It is quite small in area, on the other - under 96 million inhabitants - with different climatic zones with big amount islands and islets, including those where a person has not been seen for years. With a tropical climate and Asian faces, with completely European ideas about culture and civilization. A strange country that fascinates and delays without straining. The Philippines is a land of contrasts. Here you will see:
- chic skyscrapers with fashionable apartments and plywood houses with cellophane instead of glass;
- religious people who go to church every Sunday, and idle drug addicts who carry a knife or pistol;
- twenty-year-old girls whom their mother leads by the hand on a date with a young man, and underage girls who work as prostitutes in nightclubs;
- clean, well-groomed neighborhoods and dirty areas;
- educated people who often travel abroad, and narrow-minded people and beggars,
- fashionable hospitals with professional doctors and folk healers without any education (healers).
This contrast is both impressive and striking at the same time ... The main thing that these wonderful Philippine islands are famous for are beaches and healers.
Here is a summary of the Philippines for the seaside tourist.

Capital: Manila.
Time: 5 hours ahead of Moscow time and 2 hours behind seaside time. From the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in September - at 4 o'clock and, accordingly, 3 from the seaside.
Holidays and non-working days: 1.01, 25.02, Easter (from Thu. to Monday), 9.04, 1.05, 12.06, 28.08, 1 and 30.11, 25, 30 and 31.12.
National characteristics: Despite the loyalty and friendliness of the local population towards tourists, respect local traditions and religious beliefs. When visiting cult and religious monuments, you should wear modest clothes, behave according to the places visited - do not talk loudly, do not chew gum, do not eat or drink, do not litter, otherwise you will have problems.
Geography: The Philippine Islands are located in the western Pacific Ocean and are part of the Malay Archipelago. The islands stretch from north to south from Taiwan to Borneo for almost 1,850 kilometers. The closest neighbors of the Philippines are Taiwan (north), East Malaysia and Brunei (southwest), Indonesia (south). The Philippines is located on more than 7,107 islands, of which only 460 have an area of more than 2.5 square meters. km. The total area of the country is 300,000 sq. Km. Since the islands of the archipelago are volcanic and all mountainous, the Philippines has active volcanoes. Highest point countries - the volcano Apo-Volcano (2954m). The large islands, especially Luzon and Mindanao, have vast plains.
Largest islands- Luzon and Mindanao. Smaller - Cebu and Palawan. The tourist infrastructure (airfields, ground transport, hotels) is well developed practically throughout the country.
Climate: Tropical and subequatorial. The rainy season is from June to September. From June to October - destructive typhoons. The best time for recreation November - April. In December-January it dawns at 6.00, it gets dark, respectively, at 18.00.

Currency: The monetary unit is the Philippine peso, equal to 100 centavas. The price level on the islands is quite low, so mainly small bills of 10, 20, 50, 100 pesos are in circulation. Large bills of 500 and 1000 pesos.
Currency exchange: Exchange rates close to the official one are offered only by banks in the capital - Manila. In the provincial centers, the rates are slightly lower. The import of foreign currency is not limited. On average, $ 1 equals 55 pesos.

If you are exporting animals or large flowers, then there may be problems at the customs (Philippine, Russian, Korean) of the crossed countries, if you do not have the appropriate export papers.
Transport: To get to the Philippines: you can by sea, but better by plane. International flights arrive in the Philippines at 2 international airports in Manila and Cebu. Local airlines fly from Manila and Cebu to almost all islands. At each airport, local airlines charge a fee of about 100 pesos per person. An ideal flight (by plane of the South Korean airline) - Vladivostok - Seoul - Manila (or Cebu).
When departing from the Philippines abroad, the fee per person is 550 pesos.
The archipelago has only one railway line, from Manila to the city of Naga in the southern part of the island. Luzon, therefore buses are one of the main modes of transport in the archipelago.
You can rent a car. Please contact hotel administrators. International agencies have offices in the largest cities.
Local transport includes the so-called jeepinis (jeepneys - there is nothing like this in Russia even close, it is something in between a Russian KAVZ bus and a Japanese minibus), taxis, PU-CABINS (small taxis, something like a motorcycle with a sidecar converted into 2 -x local cab), tricycles (also with strollers) and pedicabs.
Taxi: the fare is not high. It is better to have small money and coins with you, as taxi drivers never give change. Make sure the driver understands exactly where you want to go.
Electricity: Mains voltage 220 V, 60 Hz, in Baguio - 110 V (but in some hotels 220 V).
Communication: If you are calling from a hotel: to call Russia, you need to press the IDD button on your phone, then 007, the area code and the number of the subscriber you need. In some hotels, instead of the IDD button, you must press the number 9 and order a conversation through the hotel administrator. The cost of 1 minute of conversation with Russia is 5.75 USD, plus each connection, regardless of whether you are connected or the subscriber is busy with 90 pesos (almost 2 dollars). But if you are resting in cities, then you can call by cards, through payphones. But be careful. With cards purchased, for example, in Cebu, you are unlikely to be able to call in Baguio. The fact is that there are several telephone companies in the Philippines, each of which monopolistically services a single island with its own cards and with its own payphones.
Cellular communication (NTK, MTS) with Vladivostok or Moscow is carried out without problems, but it is expensive.
Beaches: Length coastline Seven thousand tropical islands add up to 35,000 kilometers, and here in the Philippines, the beaches are truly the best in the world. The water temperature here all year round is from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. The color of the sea changes from deep blue to emerald green, and further, to turquoise and completely transparent blue. Of such white sand like the beaches of the Philippines, you will not find anywhere else in the world. The islands are different: it can be a classic "paradise on earth" - sea, sun, sky, palm trees and sand, or maybe a "linear lagoon, protected by limestone rocks ... It is easy to find a completely uninhabited island here (for 2000-2500 pesos a local a private boat operator will take you to and from such an island), which will be yours for the whole day: you can swim, swim and sunbathe - and no one will bother you.You walk along the beach, the sun is at its zenith - here they are, the Philippines, your tropical Paradise!
Hotels. The hotels meet international standards.
For example, a 2-bed room of a 4 * high-rise Astor - hotel in the center of Manila consists of a large room, a corridor, a dressing room and a bathroom (toilet and bathroom). The room has a double bed, cable TV, refrigerator with minibar, hairdryer, air conditioning, safe, telephone. Laundress services, restaurant, bar, massage, hairdresser, manicure, etc. The hotel is good if you stay in it for a short time, as it does not have its own pool.
And one of the best hotels in Baguio is the Camp John Hay Manor (4 *). The hotel was built over a year and is located on the outskirts of Baguio, in pine forest, interspersed with palm trees. 2 more hotel buildings are under construction. The hotel is loved by foreigners, especially Europeans, as there are many golf courses around the hotel. The hotel is 4-storey. It has 177 rooms, including 114 Superior Rooms (we lived in one of them), 11 suites, smaller rooms and 1 separate presidential suite. The hotel has several 2-storey cottages.
Our. The double room consisted of a large corridor, a bathroom (toilet and shower room), a small room for applying "war paint" to a woman, before going out to the "society" (table, dressing table, hairdryer, your cosmetics), a wardrobe with a safe, in in the corridor there is a small kitchenette (with an electric kettle, cupboards for groceries, a refrigerator with a mini - bar), a bedroom (2 double bed, bedside tables, a desk, chairs, TV, telephone, ceiling fan), a small balcony on which there is a table 2 chairs and an umbrella. There is a laundry service, a restaurant, a hotel taxi, you can rent a car directly at the hotel administration, both a car and a jeep. At the hotel, we met the owner of a minibus named Teddy, who works on a contract with the hotel. He is the only driver who understands our mixture of English and Russian well. He, for just an additional 200 pesos per day (less than $ 4), conducted excursions around Baguio and its suburbs. Renting a car with driver from the hotel costs 200 pesos per hour.
Thus, a 4-hour excursion in a 12-seater Japanese minibus in Baguio city, with Teddy as driver and guide, will cost you 1000 pesos (less than $ 20), while the same excursion through a travel company costs 50 dollars. for 2 people. Teddy is also valuable because in our search for healers, he suggested which healer heals, and who is just a charlatan, how to distinguish a charlatan from a real “healer”. I have Teddy's address, including email. Meals in the restaurant are a little expensive, if you want to save money, then 100 meters from the hotel there is a small shopping area, the so-called "Commisaria", where a gorgeous lunch or dinner (with a couple of bottles of beer) for 2 will cost you 600-700 pesos ... We checked that such a dinner in a hotel restaurant costs almost 2000 pesos. By the way, the hotel restaurant is open from 6.00 to 2.00 am.
The hotel has its own patio with a small park, fountains and sculptures. One drawback. There is no sea or pools in Baguio city. This is an alpine recreation area, almost 3 thousand meters above sea level and from the point of view of the Filipinos it is very cold here.
You have to come to Baguio for treatment with a healer and for playing golf, which is what many foreigners do.

Another hotel we've been to is the Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort 4 * The hotel is located on the island of Mactan, a 20-minute drive from international airport Cebu. The harmony of a luxury hotel styled as a Filipino village. The hotel is surrounded by a tropical garden.
In the hotel: 76 bungalows (of which: 40 Double with bath, 8 Twin with bath, 8 Suite with bath). Most of the rooms are located in 2-storey buildings, each building has 4 rooms, 2 rooms on the ground floor and 2 on the second. The rooms are slightly smaller. Large room without a corridor, 2 double bed, plus a single bed, plus an armchair-bed, i.e. this room can accommodate a family of 4 people. The room has a walk-in closet built into the wall, a desk, bedside tables, an armchair. The toilet is combined with a bath, there is also a shower. Each room has a small terrace with a table and 4 chairs. The terrace is protected from the sun by awnings and plants. In the rooms: air conditioning, TV, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, refrigerator, mini-bar, room service, voltage: 220 V., but there is no safe and hairdryer.
Bars and restaurants: ALLEGRO - the restaurant is open 24 hours and offers local and international cuisine, SUNSET COVE - the restaurant offers seafood (overlooking the ocean), PIER 7 - the beach bar serving amazing cocktails, POOLSIDE BAR - refreshing drinks ...
Sports and entertainment: 2 lagoon pools with water slide and a waterfall gym, massage, tennis courts, shooting range, playground, 12 outdoor small pools bizarre shape for exotic fish, including sharks. The beach is more than 100 meters long, private island, diving, jet skiing ($ 50 per hour), motorbikes ($ 50 per hour), windsurfing ($ 20 per day), yacht trips ($ 100 per hour), fishing (baited rods - 15 dollars per day), rent of a mask with a snorkel - 5 dollars per day. Pools are located 3-5 meters from the rooms. Some of the pools are under the sun, some are in the shade of palm trees.
The hotel has conference rooms and banquets: 4 rooms for conferences and banquets. Everything is provided in the halls necessary equipment... In addition, hairdresser services, manicure, etc. Additionally: parking, shops, beauty salon, golf course, nanny, car rental, service around the clock.
But there is a problem with the sea, the sea is there, but, as a rule, you can swim in it only from 15.00 to 6.00 in the morning. Sorry - low tide. And the closed swimming lagoon is full of grass and sea urchins, so that, diving into the sea, watch your step.
But if you want privacy and good sea beach, pay the local owners of small sea yachts or boats and they will take you for the whole day for 2500 pesos to remote islands (the amount for transportation in both directions), they also have scuba gear for diving, fishing rods, bait for fishing, but all this for a separate fee.
The prices in the restaurant are quite high. Lunch for 1 person costs 50-60 dollars. But don't be discouraged. 150 meters outside the gate, there is a wonderful restaurant Maribago gril where a gorgeous lunch for two (including dessert, beer and fruit) costs only $ 25. The tables in the restaurant are located on the street in gazebos covered with palm leaves, cooled by fans, there are many palm trees and flowers on the territory of the restaurant. Surprisingly, this restaurant serves greens for dishes (tomatoes, cucumbers and salad (albeit a little, but they do). We have never met such restaurants in the Philippines. Perhaps that is why the Japanese wander into this restaurant in droves, neglecting the hotel restaurant.
Attention! All the sockets in the Philippines are of the Asian type, in the "Chinese" manner. That is, you need to take adapters, from round plugs to flat plugs.
Flora and fauna. About 10 thousand species of plants are found here, and 60% of them grow only in this archipelago. Everywhere palm groves, bananas, bamboo and a sea of various, striking the imagination its splendor of flowers. The archipelago is home to over 1000 species of birds and animals, especially the wild buffalo dwarf, deer, mice, crocodiles and pythons.
But the nature is especially diverse in the mountainous area of the Cordillera, in the north of the Philippines. Luzon, near the city of Baguio. Here it is very similar to Primorye in August-September. Pine trees coexist with palms and lianas. Women are simply mesmerized by the abundance of different colors. It is interesting that in the area of Baguio, where the climate is cooler than in Manila, there are many cacti, in areas with a hotter climate there are only a few of them.
Crime. As an everywhere. Host travel companies recommend: for women to press handbags closer to the body, passports and money to keep in breast pockets or in safes in hotels. In the dark, do not carry large amounts of money with you if you are walking in dark areas (and there are plenty of them).
Tips. In hotels and restaurants, at airports, wherever you are helped, everywhere you are expected to tip, from 10 to 100 pesos. So, keep the little money with you.
The main tourist areas in the Philippines are:

Features of the national
Filipino cuisine

Restaurants.
In the Philippines, close to every hotel or tourist destination, restaurants are every ten meters - some for $ 3-4 per buffet. The only thing that I would not recommend are those restaurants where only locals eat, as a rule, they are under open air or in small shacks that are suspiciously cheap.
After experimenting on my own stomach, I later established a single criterion for myself both for lunches and dinners: if the species is not killed and the dinner is "expensive" - more than 10-12 dollars (500-600 pesos) - then the restaurant is decent. I really liked the restaurants where visitors were seated in gazebos covered with palm trees, there is a fan, shade, fresh air and a breeze from the fan, or closed restaurants with air conditioning.
For lovers of strong alcoholic drinks, Kalamansi juice is very effective for a hangover - small wild extremely sour limes, a quarter of a glass of this juice is poured with a sprite, a couple of ice cubes - everything costs half a dollar, the effect in the first couple of seconds is such that you feel that such a drink can be used edit oblique .. What is baluot and other specific dishes
Spaniards, Americans and Chinese have influenced Filipino cuisine, but the latter did their best to take the restaurant business into their own hands. The poor Filipinos had no choice but to remake Chinese dishes in their own way and, of course, simplify. Here you will find pizza, hamburgers, and pansit (Chinese noodles).
However, do not think that there is no Filipino cuisine as such. It exists and is very diverse - from province to province. Each province specializes in something different, and in the neighboring province, these dishes are no longer prepared.
Baluot is the most specific dish in the Philippines. You will not taste baluot anywhere in the world. Filipinas without a baluot are not the Philippines. The baluot seller pedals his bike through the streets and howls long
So, a baluot is a boiled duck egg. But not an ordinary egg, but with an unborn chick - an embryo, or embryo. These eggs are nursed in incubators at a special temperature and under certain conditions. And then the seller rides a bike through the streets and bazaars and sells a baluot. Filipinos are sure that this is the best aphrodisiac and enhances masculine strength in love. Otherwise, why is the baluot sold only late in the evening?
Also baluot - good source protein. Not everyone dares to try baluot. Filipinos love to poke fun at foreigners that they won't be able to eat it, thus encouraging them to try it. Beer lovers quite often buy a baluot for a snack, and protein and alcohol are quite an explosive mixture. And yet, if you decide to try baluot, then be careful with it if you have high blood pressure. I tried once but couldn't finish. In my opinion, pickled frog legs are nicer.
What does a baluot look like? Pictures tell better than words ...

In addition, on the street you can taste shashlik, and pancakes, and fried bananas, poured with sweet sauce, or fried in a pancake. But I want to assure you of one thing - you will not remain hungry.

In addition to especially popular Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisine, there are restaurants with Italian, Australian, American, German, English, French, Spanish, Latin, Indian, Thai, Greek, Arabic, Mexican, Jewish cuisine. If you try hard, you can even find Armenian dishes in some restaurants. But there is no Russian cuisine. Generally.
Filipino restaurants are most often outdoors. Most often they are built of wood or nipahat arbors. Outside the city - from beautiful view on the rainforest. Usually, the gazebos are covered with a net, and fans are installed inside the gazebo so that our smaller brothers in food, flies, do not fly in. Electric lighting is carried out along the outlines of the gazebos, it turns out very beautifully in the evening.

Rake with a spoon, rake with a fork

Before giving a description of Filipino dishes, I will tell you what and how they eat here. Let's start with the fact that there is no black bread here. Only white rice flour and rarely wheat flour. But the locals practically do not use bread. Instead, they serve white boiled rice, to which nothing is added, not even salt. In restaurants, rice is served with garlic, spices, and shrimp. But these are all variants of rice in Chinese, while the Filipinos themselves are "not enough" to add spices. Rice is cooked in a rice cooker. This is a very useful device, into which washed rice is poured, filled with water, pressed a button and ... it's done! Rice in the rice cooker stays warm and fresh for up to 3 days! You don't need to reheat anything ... Potatoes are also sold here, and very cheaply. But it's not as popular as rice. Partly because it needs to be cleaned and Filipinos don't like to strain.
Various fried and roasted meats such as pork or veal or chicken, even grilled, are fried by Filipinos so much that they seem dry.
There are no salads at all !!!. More precisely, they are not in Filipino cuisine. Sometimes they serve a half-baked tomato, cut into wedges and sprinkled with vinegar (which Filipinos especially love) and a small lettuce. But this cannot be called a salad, rather an appetizer ... Only soy sauce is more popular than vinegar, which is served always and everywhere. Those. if you are a vegetarian, then in the Philippines you are out of luck, vegetables only in the store and less often in the market. Buy, carry to your room and eat separately. What we did, but the Japanese taught us, who in the Philippines have a tough time without vegetables.
It is also noteworthy that on about. Luzon, especially in the Baguio area, there are a lot of strawberries, even in December, while on other islands there are few of them, they are expensive and are sold only in supermarkets.
Many different fruits and other fruits: coconuts, mangoes, avocados, watermelons, pineapples, specific Filipino fruits resembling a mixture of grapefruit with orange, tangerines, but surprisingly, there is almost no orange on sale
But there are plenty of fish and seafood dishes. Anything. I would only like to warn you that there are no traditional dishes for Russia from shrimp, crab or lobster, in the Philippines there are none. These dishes are not boiled, but fried directly in chitinous shells, without even peeling. Small crabs, traditional king crab or snow crab in the Philippines, you will not see. In my opinion, Filipinos spoil seafood with such cooking. It is noteworthy that Koreans and Japanese in restaurants order only fish or squid, probably also disagree with such preparation of crab and shrimp.

For dessert, halo-halo is served (in translation it means "mixed" - see photo) - ice cream made from a mysterious purple vegetable - ube with fruit pieces, gelatins, beans and other additives, filled with sweet concentrated milk. In addition, rice cakes are popular - this is the same rice, only heavily digested, formed into a cake, with the addition of spices. The most popular drink is water and, of course, Coca-Cola. The water is sold in gallons, and a gallon of water is put on an electrical appliance - a dispenser with hot and cold water.
It is not customary to drink hot tea, they drink "ice tee" - cold tea made from powder. Also popular is the juice from freshly squeezed local lemon - kalamansi.
A spoon and a fork are served to the table. Usually Filipinos eat using these two appliances at the same time. Looks a little childish, but pretty funny. Filipinos don't eat with chopsticks.

Filipino cuisine
But mostly Filipino dishes are not spicy. The Filipinos themselves say that they have a "sour tongue." The typical Filipino loves to try something new (fortunately, there is almost all the cuisine in the world), but he will never refuse green mango with bagong, fish balls with vinegar and baluot. All this is sold on the street and one cannot help but tell what it is and what it is eaten with.
And now it's time to tell about some Filipino dishes:
Mango with Bagong - A green, unripe mango is cut into pieces and served with bagong. Bagong, in turn, is fermented salted shrimp with a pungent specific smell. They say that it is only difficult to start and then not come off.
Fish balls (or squid) are fried in oil, strung on a wooden stick and served with hot vinegar.
Filipino omelets were great. This is when chopped vegetables are fried: bell peppers, tomatoes, onions and cucumbers, then it is poured with eggs scrambled with milk with the addition of flour and bread, it is fried in a not very hot frying pan (stirring) until, finally, it is sprinkled with grated salted local cheese on top, then the omelet is folded in half, in the manner of our cheburek.

May 9, 2005 returned from the Philippines. There are a lot of impressions, although I'll start from the beginning ...
Why did you choose this country? Honestly - to see the work of a healer and get medical treatment if possible, other sights such as the sea, people, country, impressions are somehow left behind.

We flew super - Qatar airways, 4 hours to Doha, transfer 30 minutes and 10 hours to Manila with Airbaus A 320 / A 330.

Very hot and humid, the tropics after all. Next Edsa Shangri-La hotel in downtown Manila
In the morning a trip to the long-awaited healer, Romy Piodos. 70 km to the other end of the city along narrow streets, 2 hours drive. It seems that the city never ended, houses, houses, houses ... Limestone and palm trees, that's all the materials! A small mansion with a high fence, a bunch of certificates and photographs, congratulations and thanks. It turns out to meet his wife, explains through an interpreter what will happen and how, that it is better for skeptics and dissatisfied people to leave right away! The place is like in a church, everything is in icons and candles, everything is white and light. The operation is done, so to speak, "on the altar" in a tiny room, they say there is a prayer place there! Since there is a lot of work (clients), no diagnostics - either you go to bed and the healer does what he sees fit, or you stand and watch.

Well, did they fly in vain just to see? When there is still time, and the stomach aches. Everyone who lived in a hostel at the institute has gastritis. Resolved - we treat! And then how it goes! For those who lie down - first for a massage to warm up the body, then one by one you go "to the altar". Before that, they give out a personal amulet for life! You can shoot on camera and stand nearby if the patient permits. Girls usually do not let men look for obvious reasons, you lie in shorts alone. You better not need to look at others before the operation, it's scary even for persistent men, the impression is certainly strong.

I wait for my turn, I go in, I go to bed. A quick glance over the entire body, the healer enters the 4th state and drove off. You lie down, they dig in you. The impression that they have done a local anesthesia does not hurt anywhere, but it is felt that they are digging in you, pinching, pulling something. Blood flows, squishes, flies out under pressure. Almost everyone did it - stomach, liver, kidneys, spleen. Further, as he saw fit - heart, goiter, head. More than 3-5 visits to the body are not recommended, so everyone (except me) was assigned to come tomorrow to do the back, eyes, varicose veins on the legs, spine, appendages, etc ... Who hurts what. There is no need to tell anything, he sees everything himself. You get up, drink hot tea and you are free! No scars. You go to watch how others are doing. Red spots remain at the site of penetration, but after 5-10 minutes they completely disappear. You are completely healthy.

This is non-traditional medicine, not like our doctors. Whoever had kidney stones pulled out - they suggest taking them with you, torn clots can also be taken (so to speak for examination ...). In general, Forev healers! A bunch of photos and films from operations remained, I look at home - I show it to my friends. All the pleasure is $ 300 per day of operation, or rather in 10 minutes. I don’t mind the money, I’m sorry for my health. Especially our girls and men, who have no children - why do operations, when you can be cured without them ... In general, if you have an extra $ 2000-3000 or just save up - go at least once in your life to a healer, they will be cured. But without guarantees, as they say, once at a time it is not necessary, they warn in advance, it's all about faith. Some are denied treatment, but there were none among us ...

I'll start with why I wanted to leave, which means - with the minuses.

Sheer horror. You can only cook yourself, it is impossible to eat in the eatery. Even in a relatively expensive - and that is dumb. All either:

  1. overcooked
  2. sugared (even meat! - this is a masterpiece: meat with a sweet sauce, and the sauce is not sweet and sour, with salt, as it happens, but rather pure syrup with pepper).

Decent cafe on Mindoro Island(in our part of the island) they found only one thing - a restaurant at the hotel, called Luka. A decent carbonara was being prepared there. In the rest of the eateries - either not a very successful parody of Italian cuisine, or the above-described meat.

Perhaps there were some relatively decent cafes in Sabang, but taking into account the fact that it took about 40 minutes to go there on a bike, and then for the sake of diving - for the sake of food it was already too much. Well, a remark: I speak from the standpoint of lovers of healthy food.

Some acquaintances, having been there, assured that they were "overeating on steaks." Dada, those refried with sugar But for those who do not particularly care about the quality of food, or the time has not yet come and the body is still ready to digest even nails, I propose to decide on their own, try, draw conclusions.

As it seemed to us, almost everything gives off chemistry - some artificial components are added (apparently, like the "maggi" broth). Thai rice with sprouts, vegetables and unobtrusive sauce was remembered with gratitude, especially since you could buy it there at every corner. And in the Philippines, alas, nothing like that.
Although there are rice fields all around.

The shops sell some goodies: chips, cookies, instant products - from coffee to jelly, chemical muffins and canned fruits. The latter is especially surprising, given that local fruits grow quite right there and then.

Good food includes fresh chicken, some vegetables and live fruits, especially the stunning mangoes. But making up a daily diet of a relatively healthy diet took a lot of effort.

Cheese - only in the store "for whites" at ridiculous prices (about 1,500 rubles a kilogram), from nuts - only peanuts. Products such as cottage cheese and sour cream are unknown there. The yoghurts that you can buy there are oversweetened to such a state that nothing remains of the yoghurt

Potatoes - as if they taste frozen, although where to freeze them there? I couldn't buy either normal coffee or dried fruit, I had to choose pasta by trial and error, the milk tasted like wood, emasculated….

Water in the Philippines

But that's not the worst thing yet The worst thing is water. Most of the bottled drinking water is distillate. I have not previously entered into discussions and arguments about the dangers or benefits of such water, because it is not sold everywhere in Russia anyway, and there was normal, like bottled water - there was no experience with distillate. And then I just had to try it in practice.

From her in the mouth all the time it feels like they brought in emery. They began to look for purified, artesian water. Found, it got better, but still the feeling of emery in the mouth was almost constant.

Life and other nuances of survival on the Philippine island of Mindoro

Another fact unknown to science: hair falls out. And not only I noticed this. In general, whites in Asia suffer from this. From one friend I heard that she lost half of her hair in the Philippines, although about half - I hope she exaggerated.

But before that she was in Vietnam, maybe it all together affected the Philippines? Another noticed this in Thailand. But in Thailand, the whites who live there seem to be relatively normal.

And Russians and Europeans living in the Philippines often don't look very good. Apparently, something is not particularly healthy there, whatever one may say. The skin becomes bad, the hair falls out. Maybe not for everyone, but for us, in any case, it was tangible. The skin, by the way, also somehow sharply became worse. Despite the fact that we did not eat all this soluble chemistry, and only looked for adequate foods.

Life in the Philippines

Life is also very scary There is no hot water anywhere. If you try to settle there for a long time - just install a flow heater at your own expense. Electricity is often cut off - several times a month from 15 minutes to a whole day.

Well, at least the modem Internet continued to work without the light, but my clients, who were with the video, were scared when the lights went out. This is inconvenient. And it's also good that the computer was holding a charge. Otherwise, once the lights were turned off for the whole day, and if they had not turned on by the evening, then there would have been no work.

Communication is so-so, of course. Barely plows. I had enough, but in some places it was dumb. Speed is on the brink of a foul all the time. According to rumors, there are houses out there with generators, but, in my opinion, these are just some of the hotels and villas of the very wealthy that are found there.

Wealthy, moreover, Europeans in the main. Such cool Filipinos, so that a house with a garage, a large territory, video surveillance, a couple of cars and a generator are on Mindoro Island at least I haven't seen. But this has nothing to do with the case.

About beauty in the Philippines. Nature and safety

And now - why did we honestly try to adapt to all this?

Nature in the Philippines

Of the huge advantages is nature. Really wild places, half-empty beaches, a riot of vegetation that cannot be compared with anything seen. Tai, by the way, in this sense, some kind of "combed" too. If we compare it with the Philippines. Unimaginable beauty waterfalls, views from the mountains, colors ...

Safety in the Philippines

The second is essential important point, which would have made our stay long, if not for the downsides - safety. We practically didn’t see the police there - we don’t need it. Filipinos are law-abiding ad nausea

On every crummy shack - building permit № ..., on every tricycle - a business license, in every shop - similar business licenses and sanitary permits, wherever you spit - everywhere a permit

Apparently, they are not prone to outright criminality. Of course, everyone is talking about Manila, but we still did not plan to live in big cities anymore. And in villages, settlements, small towns - it is calm. They know how to shout and sort things out loudly - they know how to yell at karaoke. But to seriously commit something - I do not know, did not see, did not reach, did not feel.

Despite the fact that in Thailand we have seen and heard about it ourselves, and we still hear about it from our friends who live there. And there are riots, riot of tourists for money, and cruel, raids and searches without any sanctions.

And in the Philippines - no one has seen or heard anything like that. And it's not scary to travel on the roads at least 300 km to remote villages, we checked, As you already know... All locals, regardless of whether they are surprised or not, are generally welcoming, benevolent, mostly calm. No incidents were seen anywhere or heard from anyone.

Diving in the Philippines

The third significant plus is diving in the Philippines... It is really interesting, meaningful, unusual, etc. This is what, perhaps, I would still return there. As well as nature. But it has already become clear that not "live", but rather - on vacation. Exactly to dive, ride, etc. And quickly return to the "base" until all the hair fell out and food poisoning occurred

Climate in the Philippines

Unfortunately, the climate also has to be attributed to the minuses, because half a year pours hopelessly, and the remaining six months - look at all the photos from the theme of the Philippines. In the dry season, the sun was out. But that's exactly what "happened." Not every day.

And sometimes in the dry season it rains without hesitation. And the Filipinos themselves said that during the rainy season here it just stands like a wall for half a year in a continuous mode, and therefore occasionally falling rain in the dry season is perceived as a child's toy.

Honestly - for some reason it did not seem so to me, especially in combination with the wind. So no matter how wonderful diving is and no matter how transcendental nature, and it will be possible to look at all this from the strength of 5 months a year, and no one guarantees these 5 months good weather all the time, you also need to catch her.

That's why Philippines despite all their beauty, they have not become and will not become a place for us to live. Sadly, because we made the most amazing discoveries right here, and it was here that we realized that we would like to live in some place with no less intricate and varied nature, with a lot of wild places around and the opportunity to ride through them.

Well thank you Philippines, for making it possible to understand this. And, probably, we will come back someday.

I hope this article will inspire you to make water an integral part of your day and your life. The benefits of water go far beyond healing the body at the physical level, water has the power to hydrate and renew the mind and body. As you walk the path of your own life, your health and well-being should always be a priority. Water is the answer to almost all questions. Whether you want to cure a disease, lose weight, or find a way to relieve stress, water should always be the first item on your list of things to turn to.

Before you drink coffee or soda - think again - why not try it and replace it with a glass of water. Water is one of the most important elements of life, without water there is no life.

You are primarily water, our planet is 70 percent water, life is made of water, and life can be healed with water. In order for you to be healthy and in moments when you need healing, your body intuitively requires and thirsts for water, and this is probably the reason why water has been used for thousands of years in religious ceremonies.
Water purifies, clarifies and calm, it is a natural way to help you purify your mind, body and soul.

Water is one of the most important parts of our life that many of us take for granted. Many of us are dehydrated; Not only do we not drink enough water throughout the day, but we mindlessly shower in it and get annoyed with it when it falls from the sky.

A drop of water can do so much, create and shape everything, build mountains and rocks, water our bodies, and it helps release the pain in our body through tears.

We all have this innate knowledge that water heals, yet only a few of us listen to our own wisdom and inner knowledge.

To prove this theory, take a moment to visualize an idyllic scene of relaxation and tranquility.

What's in your head?

I'm pretty sure that at least 80 percent of you would imagine one of these scenes:

  • Relax on an island surrounded by calm turquoise waters
  • Relaxation in a hot tub
  • Swimming freely in a beautiful freshwater lake
  • Walking on a quiet beach
  • Sit or swim near the waterfall
  • Sounds from water droplets emanating from a fountain or Zen garden
  • And many other relaxing moments that include water….

So this knowledge of water is there in you. When you think about a little rest, you intuitively try to connect with the energy of the water. The healing waters resonate deeply in you; you have an inner connection and the knowledge that water is the essence of life.

Water therapy will evoke new thoughts in you, balance your body and mind, and bring you the harmony you are looking for.

A person in his right mind will never stop taking care of his health. He will never stop looking for new ways to improve. Today, when the trust relationship "doctor - patient" in traditional medicine is undermined, in case of health problems, people turn to such a phenomenon as alternative medicine. Among all existing ways Treatment Surgery by the method of Filipino healers is perhaps one of the most amazing.

They are considered great healers, sorcerers, charlatans. Eyewitnesses from all over the world claim that the hands of healers really magically penetrate the human body and treat such ailments that traditional medicine has turned its back on. So who are they - healers, Filipino healers?

Who is this?

Traditionally, it is customary to call those carrying out operations of varying complexity only with hands, that is, without any special tools. In their practice, Filipino healers also do not use anesthetics. These are the most famous differences in healing among other medical teachings, but they are not the only ones.

Filipino medicine is associated with the concept of psychosurgery, because healers act not only in the physical, but also mental, influencing the consciousness of their patients.

Many titles

The name "healer" is derived from english word Heal. What does "heal" mean. Note that these amazing people are called not only healers. In the Western world, they were awarded the titles of "psychic surgeons", "mental surgeons", "surgeons of the fourth dimension." With such verbal phrases, people emphasize the extraordinaryness of the healing technique for healers.

First mentions

Information about Filipino amazing healers began to spread throughout the globe thanks to navigators. Written sources from the 16th century contain testimonies of sailors about miracles of healing seen on distant islands.

In the 40s of the 20th century, it was possible to document the process of a healer's work with a person. Since then, Filipino physicians have become known everywhere. Today it is much easier to see how healers work, photos of which are easy to find in open sources.

Notable healers

It is believed that there are only about 50 people with a deep knowledge of Filipino psychic surgery in the Philippines. But healers in the Philippines are also included in special official lists. So, there are many more officially registered (several thousand). Therefore, it is worth drawing conclusions about the quality of treatment of a particular healer. The parallel with our medicine can be traced again.

One of the famous modern healers is June Labo, whose clinic today accepts patients from all over the world.

Also in the homeland of the amazing direction of alternative medicine, the names of such healers as Alcazar Perlito, Nida Talon, Maria Bilosana, Alex Orbito, Virgilio D. Gutierrez, Rudolfo Suyat are most famous. The Filipino healer is an honorary title that, among many others, can only be earned by a talented, true healer.

In Russia, the healer Virgilio Gutierrez was most famous, now a doctor on Gutierrez, he taught the art of surgical intervention to healers of selected students.

Filipino healers in Russia

Since the ties between continents and islands have become stronger, it is possible to get an "appointment" with a healer not only in distant countries. Healers also live in Russia. They carry out the treatment by their own, unconventional methods, which brought them worldwide fame and a lot of gossip.

It is customary to turn to alternative medicine when everything that traditional medicine has to offer does not help. At the same time, the sick do not always fully trust the techniques they rely on last. So healers, reviews of which are contradictory, refer to this direction of alternative treatment.

In Russia, healers appeared about 20 years ago. Today there is even an Association of Filipino Healers. The head of this organization is Rushel Blavo, a well-known researcher of the phenomenon of extrasensory healing in the world scientific community.

Rushel Blavo dedicated several books to healers, documentary... In addition, the scientist conducts seminars dedicated to the unique capabilities of Filipino healers, with a demonstration of their art.

Other Filipino healers in Moscow and other cities of Russia have held seminars more than once, initiating people into the mystery of knowledge of their extraordinary medicine.

Healer healing techniques

In fact, besides surgery, healers use other healing techniques. So, Philippine medicine includes the use of various conspiracies, herbal treatment, stones, manual therapy. All these methods are traditional for Asian peoples, but it is surgical operations that are most famous.

Operations are carried out by healers only with their hands. They do not use any tools, such as scalpels or clamps. Thus, from the human body, the doctor can get any foreign body, accumulated toxins, stone formation. The doctor finds deviations in the state of certain organs on his own and begins his work there. Diagnostics and other analyzes are not carried out, which is also surprising for those who first encounter the art of Filipino healers.

Psychic surgery - a miracle of healing

Strange as it may seem to us, but healers profess the Catholic faith. As with most of what has developed historically, the healers have the Bible on the table even during operations. If we consider the operations of healers as a kind of ritual, then in it Christianity is closely intertwined with local worldviews.

Moreover, Filipino healers perform their miracles of healing, inspired, so to speak, by prayers. The Philippine Catholic Church officially recognizes the surgical operations of healers as one of the manifestations of the divine miracle of healing.

Patient preparation

Not only the operation itself is important, but also the preparation of the patient for treatment. Heeler starts working with the patient long before the operation itself begins. The medicine of the peoples of the Philippines is focused on primarily working with the spiritual essence of a person.

The healing process, in which both the sick person and the healer are involved, consists not only in the physical improvement of the person's condition, but also in the healing of the spirit and consciousness. Preparing the patient for the operation includes communicating with the surgeon, meditation, preliminary theoretical acquaintance with the upcoming process.

Before the start of the surgery, the patient still receives anesthesia, but not in the form we are used to. Healer, with the help of special movements, introduces the patient in a state of complete or partial (as partial anesthesia).

A person can feel the process of the operation while being conscious. But there is no pain or other unpleasant sensations. There may be a slight tingling or tapping sensation in the surgical site. This is how those who, from their own experience, were convinced of the reality of the methods of Filipino healers, report their impressions.

Filipino Healer Treatment Process

The way the healer's operation looks from the outside seems to be something supernatural or outright fraudulent.

A seemingly ordinary person stands over the patient. He is in a state of semi-consciousness. And then the doctor runs his hands over the patient's body, as if scanning him. Then the hands stop in a certain zone (this is exactly the zone in which the patient has health problems). And then, as if the healer's fingers penetrate the body of the person lying in front of him and unimaginable manipulations begin.

With dexterous movements of his fingers, the healer makes some kind of passes. We see blood or something that looks like blood, but it does not flow, as we panically expect when we see a tear in the skin. Healer continues the treatment by removing blood clots or other substance from the person's body with his bare hands. This is the reason why the patient is not feeling well. So (naturally, differently in each case) Filipino healers are treated.

It is natural that some observers and those who simply learned about the fact of Filipino medicine take such manipulations sharply: with distrust and open accusations of quackery.

Attempts to expose the techniques of healers

Skeptical attacks on the miraculous practice of exotic healers were followed in the last century by attempts to explain the "show" they were putting on in front of the public. Healers in the Philippines are still actively provoking skeptics into all kinds of checks.

The process of operating with bare hands has been explained by various extraordinary interpretations. "Penetration" of the healer's hands under the skin of a person is nothing more than a high-class illusion. The emerging "blood" and the "clots" of the disease (or bad energy) that appear - a cleverly made puncture of a special bag of liquid (even chicken blood, maybe), taken by the charlatan as a props for the "trick".

However, some people still claimed that after the healing session, their health improved. To this convinced skeptics argue that healers have the gift of hypnotic influence and convince their "victims" that they really got better.

A skeptic's point of view

There are many things that can be viewed skeptically about the Filipino method of treatment. Why, almost everything! To do a complex operation with your hands, not to infect an infection and get a positive result for the patient's health is from the realm of fantasy.

When familiarizing with the miraculous treatment, questions after questions arise, and this is natural. So why do people in the Philippines still get sick and die with such opportunities? The abilities of healers are beyond our comprehension, but they cannot achieve such results.

With their miraculousness and dozens of extraordinary stories of people who have been healed by healers on the Flippins and outside the islands, they can not do everything.

Do healers really penetrate the tissues of the body with their hands?

Healers who are interested in the practice of psychosurgery are tormented by one important question: do the doctor's hands really penetrate the patient's body? Does this really happen without the help of tools, like conventional surgeons?

Alternative medicine, the types of which amaze the minds of most visitors to polyclinics, has a rich palette of methods. Mental surgery tools of healers take a prominent place among them, and here's why.

The answer to the question that worries us will be yes (if we take our trust in the Filipinos and their miracles of healing as a starting point). Healers penetrate the physical body of a person, but this does not happen with every operation. According to the healers themselves, there is not always a need for this.

Why is it so? The healers also give a completely understandable explanation for this. Illness arises from the appearance of bad, unhealthy energy in a person's energy body. It is she who is fished out of the patient by the Filipino healers during the sessions. Often, to carry out such a psycho-operation, it is not necessary to open the physical body.

The very same penetration of the hands of the healer into the body can be compared to immersion in water. Water molecules seem to part in front of our hands, giving them the freedom to carry out any action in the water. Likewise, due to an innate special talent, the healer enters the human body. Incredible - but maybe real!

What can't healers do?

Points of view on the Philippine phenomenon are different due to the fact that only a small number of people have experienced it for themselves or have reliable sources of information about it. However, from any point of view, a logical question arises: what is beyond the power of healers?

Like traditional medicine, Filipino treatment cannot extend a person's life span. You can remove the disease, thus returning yourself to your allotted time.

Mental illness is also beyond the power of healers. Although they deal with the human spirit, the ability to influence the mental is limited. This can be explained somewhat simplistically. Philippine surgery is, first of all, surgery, that is, it involves the extraction of unhealthy tissues from the human body. With the psyche, healers are not able to carry out such manipulations.

Let's add to this the fact that, as in all spheres of activity, there are good specialists and not very good ones. This also applies to Filipino healers.

Specialization of Filipino Physicians

Personal abilities are of great importance in which direction of treatment the healer will most develop. For example, one of the best healers in the Philippines, Labo works with tumors and became widely known outside his country for this very reason. Other illnesses are also amenable to the miraculous treatment of a renowned healer.

Another Filipino physician, Jose Segundo, is best at manipulating teeth.

Healing principles in practice

As for what a conscientious healer will undertake and what not, the situation will be the same as with traditional doctors. Healer will undertake to treat any patient, even if his condition is hopeless. Just like our doctors, he will try to extend the life of a person or reduce his suffering.

As for the issue of treating mental illness, the healers themselves openly say that this area is not in their power. Naturally, you can find such specialists in local, Filipino medicine, but this will already be a completely different type of healing. Most often, the locals assign this eerie concept of "exorcism". Other representatives of local medicine are engaged in healing souls from "demons".

Are the possibilities of Filipino healers real or

It is impossible to draw unambiguous conclusions about the reality of the fact of healing according to the method of Filipino doctors based on everything we know. To believe or dissuade completely, you need to face an amazing phenomenon with your own eyes.

As with any theory, there will always be those who agree and those who are against. You can find many facts confirming the reality of the phenomenon or fraud. Our choice remains ours: we ourselves choose the sources we trust.

It is unambiguous that alternative medicine in the form of healers has acquired another mind-damaging technique on the way to health.

Among the healers, there are undoubtedly people who have a certain gift. The deeds of such healers thunder throughout the world and deserve the deepest respect and admiration. There are also charlatans whose plans are only to cash in on the trust gained by true healers.

Note that the acute rejection of the fact of healers in our country, and many others, is due to the difference in worldview. It is difficult for us to imagine that a person can have such power over physical and mental matters. But in countries where the most ancient folk beliefs have survived, people readily believe in this. Apparently there are reasons ...

Summarizing what has been said ...

Filipino healers are an extraordinary phenomenon in the rich world of various unconventional medical teachings. They can heal a person by performing surgery without tools or pharmaceuticals.

We first learned about healers as healers who work miracles in the 16th century. Since then, they have become known in all countries, and views on healers have remained controversial. No wonder: it is extremely difficult to believe in a miracle among the usual things.

We hope our article has brightened your pastime and quenched your thirst for knowledge about such interesting phenomenon of our world as a Filipino healer.
