Shopping

During excursions and visiting museums, you will come across an abundance of souvenirs, but the focus of tourist shopping is on Jommas Street. This pedestrianized street is the most old street Jurmala, it is located in the village Majori. There are many different shops, boutiques and cafes, as well as souvenir shops and street exhibitions of artists and other craftsmen.

In Jurmala, anyone can find the perfect way to relax: there is something to see, where to go, where to swim, lie down or go for a ride. The resort in a European way tries to take care of all possible interests, from active to passive. That is why it is worth getting here at least once in your life in order to fall in love and come back again.

Of course, I live in Moscow, but while traveling in the Baltic countries in the summer, I certainly could not help but visit Jurmala and swim in the Baltic Sea. I spent three days in it and all three days explored the beaches of Jurmala, I was wondering if there is a big difference between them, and whether there is such a long set of depth everywhere. Having rented myself a room in the private sector from ordinary people for 8 units of the Latvian currency (unfortunately I forgot how she calls it exactly, but at a rate of twice the dollar), I had a short distance to the coast. But the distance did not play a particularly big role, because all the same, every time I went to new beach... And now, having found out what they are here, I want to tell you about the beaches of Jurmala.

And so is Majori beach, one of the most famous in Jurmala. It is all covered with white quartz sand, it looks beautiful and useful, as they say, and it is convenient to walk on it. A blue flag flies over this beach. This flag is a confirmation that the beach meets all the highest international standards. By the way, the same flag flies over the Jaunkemeri beach. What I liked very much here is that the beach is equipped with special equipment for disabled people and people with special needs. There are always a lot of people here and always fun, these two beaches are the most popular in Latvia, there are always a lot of young people who play volleyball, swim, ride jet skis, but at the same time there are enough families with children who just came to sunbathe and swim. There are also a lot of people sitting in the coastal cafes and restaurants. The entrance to the water here is very shallow, and to go somewhere up to my neck, I had to walk for about five minutes. Also, despite the fact that it was summer, the water was cool, although for swimming and relatively normal, but wait for local beaches the warm sea is not worth it, only you will be disappointed in vain.

In general, Jurmala itself has a coastline length of twenty-six kilometers. All the beaches of Jurmala are covered with white quartz sand, so the previous beaches that I mentioned are not unique in this regard. A nice feature is also the fact that all beaches are free and equipped with all the necessary attributes of a beach holiday.

In general, the coast of the Gulf of Riga is considered great place in order to come to rest on these beaches with children. After all, here they can safely run and swim in the water, and you will not need to worry all the time that they will go to the depth, because here you need to try very hard for this. Also, various beach sports games are often held here, especially in Dubulti and Dzintari, so you can even get to the games of professional teams.

Pumpuri Beach is suitable for lovers aquatic species sports. Here they are engaged in windsurfing and kitesurfing, for this, just everything contributes, waves, wind. I was only windsurfing and having already had a little experience before that I got a lot of pleasure riding here.

Jaunkemeri's beaches are already quieter, there are no particular waves and noise, and you can calmly sit on the shore enjoying the emerald sunset, read a book or just listen to the sea, if you are a person who likes it. The beaches are full of restaurants, and they have a wide variety of cuisines: Ukrainian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Latvian, Italian and many others.

In general, I can say that all the beaches in Jurmala are good, everywhere here pure water, sand as well, and by the way it is cleaned here every day, so you won't find bottles and all kinds of rubbish on the beaches of Jurmala. This city is suitable for all age groups. You can come as a youth company, as a couple, and a family with small children, or even take and drag yourself to Jurmala, as I did and did not regret in the end.
