Where is the most beautiful beach in Thailand? Thailand's clean beaches with white sand. City Beach, Hua Hin - Family friendly and comfortable

No matter what time of year it is on the street, each of us dreams of getting to a paradise resort as soon as possible. Especially often such thoughts visit Russians in winter, when everything is dull and monotonous on the street, and the gentle sun's rays practically do not peep out because of the dense dark clouds. It is in winter that the most people visit, because, firstly, at this time in the land of smiles is the most favorable season for recreation, and secondly, at this time of the year most of all you want warmth and light.

Thailand's beaches are very diverse, but almost everywhere there is a coast with white sand, washed by a clear azure sea. When choosing a particular beach in Thailand, you must be guided by several important rules:

- pay attention to the distance to the airport;

- choose the beach according to your primary needs: night entertainment, active sports entertainment, silence and solitude, or the noise and din of a large city, etc .;

- are you planning an excursion program.

The best beaches in Koh Samui

The beautiful beaches of Tai are good in everything, regardless of where they are located: on the islands or on the mainland, but in each case there are some peculiarities.

The best beaches in Phuket

Krabi province

Lanta Island

Despite the fact that Ko Lanta is a relatively small island, which has not won fame among Russian-speaking tourists, it also has a beach that is considered the best in Thailand. At the same time, this beach is considered the longest on the island (about 4 kilometers) and has a self-explanatory name - Long Beach.

There are always a lot of tourists on Long Beach, despite the fact that the cost of even the simplest bungalow will not be affordable for a budget tourist. Long Beach is famous for its white sand and the cleanest clear water in the sea. The beach is suitable for families with children, as the entrance to the sea is shallow.

Hua hin

Koh Tao

The beaches of Thailand, located on a small resort, are in the top of the best, but they are famous not for the purest sand and azure sea, although this is also available here, but for excellent opportunities for diving. The most famous beach on this island is Sairee. Its length is about 1.6 kilometers, there is a well-developed infrastructure. In addition to diving, rock climbing is developed here.

Mai Haad is most conveniently located in terms of transport links... This is where he comes most of ships from the mainland, as well as diving centers.

The most reasonable prices for housing on Tao Island on Chalok Beach, in the southern part of the island. The infrastructure is as well developed here as on other beaches, but getting here is somewhat more problematic.

Wild beaches

Not all tourists are looking for crowded beaches with a lot of entertainment, because some are closer to secluded beach areas, where there is no one else calmly and almost never.

Almost lost in the jungle.

To get here and appreciate the natural beauty untouched by man, you will have to go down a steep cliff using a rope ladder. This beach is located on Phuket Island near the beach area and has a length of only 150 meters.

Among the best wild beach areas, it is considered the most difficult to access, so there are almost never people here. You will have to get here from Patong Beach by boats.

- part of the protected area. The uniqueness of this place lies in the fact that it is here that huge turtles come to lay their eggs.

Some of the best wild beaches include Tai Muang, which not even all the locals know about. It is located about 25 kilometers from Phuket Island. Due to the fact that this is a completely unpopular place, there are no entertainment and tourist facilities here. On Tai Muang you can feel like a real savage, washed ashore on a desert island.

What do tourists say about the best beaches in the country?

The beaches of Thailand, which are among the most visited and loved ones, are mostly positive reviews... For example, the most often heard flattering reviews towards Karon Beach, as well as such beach areas as Kata Noi and Kata Yai. Also on hearing among tourists is Patong Beach on Phuket Island and Railay Beach in Krabi.

They have never been among the best and are unlikely to ever get into their ranks, since due to too many tourists it is dirty and there are mountains of rubbish everywhere. Also on the coast you can find industrial waste. If you believe the reviews, then in Pattaya the cleanest territories belong to the Sunset Park and Sunset Village hotels, where waste simply does not reach, and if something gets in, it is cleaned up very quickly. ... The beaches of the island are also not in the top of the best, although if you believe the reviews, the beach areas of this island deserve attention.

With a wide coastline, soft white sands, warm waters and lots of hotels, restaurants and shops within walking distance of this beach. 2. Railay Beach, Krabi - Quiet and sporty.

On this beach you can get the feeling that you are on desert island, which is not so often found on the famous tourist beaches in Thailand. Despite the fact that Railay Beach is technically on the mainland, it can only be reached by boat. Transparent blue water, small islands on the horizon and majestic cliffs surround this small beach, which is generally not crowded except during the peak season.

Aside from rock climbing, swimming and snorkeling and enjoying the great views, there really isn't much to do here. While Railay Beach is still much quieter and less developed than most popular Thai beaches, it can still get crowded with tourists and holidaymakers during high season.

Cheap hotels in Krabi:

3. Maya Bay, Phi Phi Lei Island - Simply gorgeous.

This small strip of sand is the quintessential Thai beach. Located on a small island near Phi Phi, the beach is located in a small cove and is surrounded by tall limestone cliffs. Maya Bay can only be reached by taking a tour or hiring a private boat for one day, as there are no hotels or bungalows on the island to stay overnight. Crowds of people visit this place during the high season, but even then these crowds can be tolerated for the beauty that will open to you on this island.

Cheap hotels on Phi Phi Island:

4. City Beach, Hua Hin - Family friendly and comfortable.

This beach in Hua Hin is very popular with local residents and foreign tourists, thanks to the clean sand, the large number of bars and restaurants nearby, and the ease of travel from Bangkok. The bottom of the beach is very shallow, which is not very suitable if you really want to swim, but this also makes this beach one of the best for family vacation with small children.

Cheap hotels in Hua Hin:

5. Kata Beach, Phuket - Relaxing.

This calm, quiet and relaxed beach is located in the southern part of Phuket. Literally a couple of kilometers from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach. Kata Beach has everything that makes Phuket so popular - palm trees, warm water and nice scenery, but there are no high-rise hotels or shopping centers nearby. IN low season, the waves on this beach can be quite intense, making it great place for surfing, but not a very suitable place for families with small children.

Cheap hotels on Kata Beach:

6. Lamai Beach, Koh Samui - Perfect balance.

Although the beaches of Koh Samui can get crowded, especially during the high season, this beach has the perfect balance for visitors looking for beautiful scenery, a good bottom for just swimming, and a host of other activities to be found on this beach. At night, dozens of bars and restaurants make Lamai Beach one of the centerpiece of nightlife. Koh Samui islands.

Cheap hotels on Lamai Beach:

7. Sairee Beach, Koh Tao Island - Calm.

It used to be solely a diving base, but gradually visitors realized that Koh Tao had more to offer than just a place to eat and sleep between dives. It is a long white sand beach with great views of the small islands on the horizon, as well as plenty of budget hotels and restaurants. The nearest airport is on the island of Koh Samui, so you can only get here by ferry, which makes this beach pretty deserted even in high season.

Cheap hotels on Koh Tao Island:

8. White Sand Beach, Koh Chang - Not just for backpackers anymore.

This beautiful stretch of beach on the west side of the island is fringed with coconut trees and gentle hills. Although Koh Chang is still considered a cheap backpacker's paradise, there is a hotel or bungalow on the island to suit every budget and taste.

Cheap hotels on White Sand Beach, Koh Chang:

9. Haad Rin, Koh Phangan - Party Beach.

Despite the fact that this beach is incredibly beautiful, however, Haad Rin is known mainly for the fact that Full Moon Parties are held here. Once a month, the Beach turns into a huge dance floor all night long with lots of alcohol, dancing and electronic music. The rest of the time, this beach is rather deserted and more likely to have a relaxing holiday. During the day, soft, golden sand and gentle shores make Haad Rin ideal place for bathing and enjoying the surrounding landscape, although many visitors have too clouded eyes to understand this. Since in between the Full Moon Party, the Half Moon Party is also held on the island and many visitors to these parties stay on the island for a long time.

We are often asked "Which beach in Thailand to choose", it is time to answer and make our personal rating.

The coast stretches for thousands of kilometers and is washed by two seas - Andaman and South China (in the Gulf of Thailand). It is so diverse that everyone will find paradise: both a fan of "wild" rest, and a lover of comfort with all the amenities (deck chairs, sun umbrellas, restaurants on the coast, expensive hotels).

In addition, there are many where the beaches of Thailand are even better. The explanation is simple - it is more difficult to get here than to mainland resorts (you have to take a ferry, sometimes for several hours), there are fewer tourists, which means that the sea and the coast are not so spoiled by civilization: garbage, crowds of people and a lack of greenery.

Since there are several hundred beaches in the country, it is impossible to tell about all of them in one article. Therefore, we will limit ourselves to only a dozen, but the best, interesting and beautiful for tourists. The review presents both world-famous and less popular (but this is no worse, and even better). There are also links to where everything is described in more detail and where you can see many more photos.

After reading the article, experienced ones will say that this or that beach is missing and that it would be nice to include it in our Top 10. Yes, everyone has their own tastes and for you, about a hundred coasts of the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are described on the site. Plus, there is a video, which is gradually being added. As they say, look for your "bounty".

Our rating - the top 10 beaches in Thailand

The best beaches Thailand are located far from major cities and noisy life. Such places are mainly present on the islands, although there are also on the mainland (for example, in Khao Lak and Krabi). And we will start with the mainland.

Jomtien Beach (Pattaya)

Located in the famous Pattaya - the most Russian resort in Thailand. The city attracts with its cheapness for everything: hotels, food, shopping. Since there are a lot of people, the main coastline is packed with tourists. Therefore, it is better to rest in, which is located a few kilometers south of the city. It is much quieter here, there are fewer people, green meadows begin half a kilometer from the coast, where there are no buildings.

This is by far the best. Here you can comfortably relax all year round, since there is no rainy season, the sea is almost always calm, there is no ebb when the water leaves 50-100 meters from the coast. The coast is sandy, no stones. The entrance to the water is not shallow, the depth begins immediately, after 4-5 meters already up to the waist (some beaches have a gentle entrance, when you have to walk 20-30 meters in the water to swim normally, and at low tide and more).

The Jomtien coast stretches for several kilometers. There are areas with sun loungers and parasols (there are more people there), and there are places where only trees can provide shade.

Kata Beach (Phuket)

A popular beach on the island of Phuket among our tourists, the coast stretches for about a kilometer. The coastline is wide - there will be plenty of room for your kids to frolic next to the water. It is generally good for, since the entrance to the water is shallow and the first 10 meters will be knee-deep. Children will gladly splash in shallow water and you will not have to worry that it will be deep for them. Almost the entire coast (except for the northern part) is occupied by sun loungers and parasols. So there is enough shadow here.

Kata does not have a pronounced ebb and flow, but from mid-May to October-November, there are often high waves (from half a meter and above) and underwater currents are activated, which can be carried out to sea. Therefore, during this period, it is better to visit other beaches in Thailand.

Kata is connected (by land, not by water) with Karon - this is another one. It is longer and almost deserted in some areas. Unfortunately, there are not many trees on it, and parasols are present mainly near hotels. Grass begins 10-12 meters from the sea, which is pleasant to lie on. These two magnificent beaches are completely sandy, there are no stones.

Klong Prao (Koh Chang Island)

- this is the center and the longest. This is where the real bounty really is: clear sea, soft sand, palm trees hanging from the water. This can be clearly seen in the photographs. Unlike the previous two, there is no asphalt road 100 meters from the sea. Therefore, you can completely forget about civilization and enjoy your vacation in the bosom of nature. Swimming in the sea reveals the beautiful mountainous landscapes of Koh Chang.

The coast of Klong Prao stretches for several kilometers, and it will take at least 40 minutes to walk it. And to the north of it there is another paradise beach Chai Chet, which is separated from Klong Prao by a river 15-20 meters wide. Everyone will love both coasts. In the south, there are several comfortable hotels (for example, Amari), where guests are provided with sun loungers and parasols. In the central part, there are very few people, inexpensive bungalows are scattered along the coast at 350-400 baht per day.

These beaches have a gentle entrance to the water, very often there are low tides when the water leaves a hundred meters from the shore. Sand everywhere, no stones.

Lamai Beach (Koh Samui)

Located on the island of Koh Samui, its length is several kilometers. Combines well-developed infrastructure, beautiful views and relative sparseness. There are areas where there are few people and no sun loungers, but there are fully equipped areas with sun loungers, sun umbrellas, massages on the coast and water activities. The coast is sandy and wide. Perfect for family holidays. It is not recommended to visit only in autumn, when there are frequent rains on Koh Samui.

Long Beach (Phi Phi)

Without a doubt, one can rank among the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. There is no nightlife here, all the few hotels are located on the first line. The sea is very clean, the coast is sandy. The rest is unhurried and calm. Long Beach on Phi Phi will help you completely forget about civilization with its cars, a large number of people and a fast pace of life.

From May to October-November, just like in Phuket, there can be huge waves.

Had Rin Nok (Phangan)

Koh Phangan beach, located in the south of the island. World famous for the Full Moon Party, which takes place once a month. If you are a party-goer, there is no better place to be. On the coast there are a dozen bars with powerful sound systems, music plays all night long. During this period, there were a lot of people, sometimes several thousand.

When there are no parties, then Had Rin Nok is quite suitable for the usual beach holiday. Sandy coast stretched for about a kilometer, the entrance to the water is gentle. The beach is wide and clean as it is cleaned regularly.

Nang Thong Beach (Khao Lak)

Will appeal to those who prefer to get away from the well-worn hiking trails... The Khao Lak resort is not so famous and popular, and because of that, the nature here has been little changed by man. There are also few tourists.

Nang Tong stretches for several kilometers. For gender wild rest where there are no hotels, it will do Northern part... For those who want to relax in comfort, in sun loungers, we recommend the center and the south.

The beach is sandy. In some areas, behind the sand, green grass begins and trees grow. The entrance to the water is not sloping, the depth starts quickly.

From May to October, there are often high waves and swimming is difficult, so the resort is recommended to visit from November to the end of April.

Koh Kwang Beach (Lanta)

Located in the northwest of Lanta Island. This is really an idyll! In the morning you wake up to the sound of the sea, there is a small forest all around, there are no cars, no motorcycles, no bars, no Thais offering to buy something on the beach. Only a couple of bungalow hotels and a restaurant attached to them. Sea, sun, greenery, clean air, practically empty beach - and all this is yours! After sunset, you can go to the middle of the beach and feel like the only person on the island - there is no lighting or people nearby.

And if you suddenly want to have fun and hang out a little, then walk along the coast for 20-30 minutes and find yourself on -. This is perhaps the most popular and it is here that the infrastructure is well developed with hotels, restaurants, bars, massage parlors and travel agencies. There are banks, ATMs, shops, motorbike rental.

Unfortunately, not all beautiful corners Thailand was included in the survey, and such a goal was not set. We just tried to introduce into the course, to show how diverse the choice is, since there is practically information on the site for each. Without a doubt, in order to choose the best beaches in Thailand, you have to visit all of them and make your own conclusion. And it is better to trust us :) We will not advise bad!

Are there nudist beaches in Thailand?

P.S. many are interested in the nude beaches in Thailand. We answer - it is officially forbidden to be naked in public places - this is done at your own peril and risk. For lovers of sunbathing naked, we can recommend looking for secluded places, of which there are a large number throughout the country, especially on the islands. Of course, some nudists want to sunbathe in a company, perhaps, you can agree about this with such amateurs.

Thailand has long established itself as good direction for relaxation, whether it is a relaxing beach holiday, enjoying nature and sightseeing, or wild parties. At the same time, travelers often have a question about which place is right for them. Here is all the information you need to know about the most popular resorts Kingdom of Thailand: both the most popular and those that, perhaps, our compatriots have not yet paid attention to.

Pattaya is perhaps the most popular holiday destination in Thailand among tourists from all over the planet. This resort town located on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand, on the east coast of the country. From the capital of Thailand - the city of Bangkok - Pattaya is separated by a distance of about 160 kilometers.

Interestingly, the number of local residents here is four times less than the number of tourists who constantly fill the resort. Indeed, in fact, Pattaya is ready to open its arms to the lover of spicy nightlife, and to those who want to bask in the sun, and to families with children who love attractions or leisure.

The resort is beachfront, but there is one recommendation: if you want clean sand and sea, it is better to go for this not to the beaches of Pattaya itself, but to its surroundings - for example, to the island of Ko Lan. The best time to fly to Pattaya is from November to May or July to August.

Pros of the Pattaya resort:

  4. The possibility of purchasing excursion trips: due to the number of tourists, there are many different offers here.
  5. The resort is convenient for those who are more comfortable among compatriots: a large number of Russian-speaking people constantly live in Pattaya, and it is also always full of tourists from the CIS countries.

  4. Pattaya is not suitable for those who travel to Thailand for solitude.

O. Samui

The popular resort is located on an island in the Gulf of Thailand - 40 kilometers from east coast countries. You can get to the island both by plane from the capital of Thailand and by ferry - if you travel across the country, the second option will be more economical.

Koh Samui, like Phuket, is distinguished by the exceptional beauty of nature. White sand and coconut trees in reality they look much better than in a travel agency brochure.

Pros of the resort about. Samui:

  1. Ideal for a beach holiday, especially if the tourist wants peace and quiet.

  3. The “high season” on the island does not last long: from January to May.

Krabi

The resort, or rather, the whole resort area in the south of Thailand, which has access to the Andaman Sea. Refers to famous resorts, but not yet as popular with everyone as Pattaya or Phuket. You can get to Krabi through the local airport, and from Phuket (by land), and from Bangkok (by air and land).

Krabi is close to other resorts in the country: Phuket and Phi Phi, so it will be convenient to stay here for those who want to explore the southern part of the country. The best time to go here is from November to May.

Pros of the Krabi resort:

  1. Due to the fact that the resort is not yet as popular as Phuket, the cost of a vacation in Krabi will be quite acceptable.
  2. The province also has attractions, both natural and cultural, so it is not necessary to limit yourself to a beach holiday.
  3. Suitable for those who love nature and solitude.

Cons of Krabi resort:

  1. The tourist infrastructure is not too developed. There are not many entertainments for revelers here, because the resort has not yet become the most popular in Thailand, and they come here mainly for something else.
  2. Although this resort has access to the sea, there are not too many well-maintained beaches.
  3. This is not to say that the resort is very accessible in terms of transport - after all, from the capital, where many tourists arrive, it takes a long time and expensive to get to Krabi.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is the second largest city in the country, located in the north of the country, in the Inthanon mountains. You can get to the city from the capital - by air in an hour, by land in ten hours. This place is usually visited from November to March.

  3. This resort is also not suitable for lovers of outdoor activities. After all, active holidays in tropical countries are usually associated with beach or aquatic species sports.

Is one of the most oldest resorts Thailand. Hua Hin is a city on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand, which is a large administrative center. You can get there from the capital by land - the trip will take about three hours. The resort is usually visited from November to June.

Huahin is known no less than Pattaya, but much better than Pattaya suitable for a beach holiday. There is a place for all tourists on the three-kilometer beach. It is interesting that the locals also love the resort; they often choose it as their own vacation spot.

After all, Thailand is really one of the ideal countries for a vacation.

Many people prefer Thailand when planning a vacation, and the main reason for this lies in the exotic and truly heavenly beaches of the country. Rest on the beaches of Thailand can be varied and exciting. There will be entertainment for active people and for people who value a measured rest. There you can meet noisy companies of young people, as well as families who have come on vacation with children. Thailand's beaches are mostly sandy. Due to the long coastline and many islands, the number of beaches in the country is very large, so there will be no problems with choosing the right one.

The best beaches in Thailand are located more on the islands, as mainland resorts only offer public beaches, which are often very crowded and expensive. The water on city beaches is not always clear, and debris can be found on the sand, although cleaning is carried out daily. During the day, many sun loungers are installed on the city beaches, sometimes it is difficult to get through them to the water, but by the evening the beaches are transformed. The sunbeds are removed, there is more space, the beaches seem spacious, and after cleaning they are clean and well-groomed. By the evening, the water recedes a little, it becomes cleaner and more transparent. Walking along the city beach in the evening, you can enjoy fresh fruits and delicious food prepared right in the carriage near the beach. Most tourists and locals visit the city beaches in the evening for dinner and fun. In the sky, the light from the running paper lanterns constantly flickers, which gives the evening city beaches a special mystery and romance.

  • Phi Phi;
  • Koh Samui;
  • Samet.

The best beaches in Thailand

Given that Pattaya is the country's most visited resort, it should come as no surprise that this is where you can find great beach areas. The beauty of the city's beaches can compete with the beaches of Phuket in Thailand. Pattaya beaches stretch along the Gulf of Thailand and replace each other. The resort offers vacationers many different activities, including golf and a water park. The main beach of the resort is Pattaya Beach, which is located in the heart of the city. Since it sits along busy streets, it is no surprise that it is always crowded. Pattaya Beach is home to many markets, malls and shops. Night life there is quite saturated. Another popular beach in the resort is Jomtien, it is also quite crowded, but it is perfect for evening walks.

The beaches of the resort are considered to be truly royal. Hua hin... They are called royal because of their incredible beautiful nature, and also due to the fact that in the 20s construction was carried out there royal residence... But a large number of attractions in the resort negatively affect the level of beach recreation. The main beach of the resort is Hua Hin Beach. Looking at the map of the beaches of Thailand, it becomes clear that the beaches on Hua Hin are very wide and sprawling.

As for the Krabi resort, the beaches here are distinguished by incredible landscapes due to the location of coastal cliffs there. The main beach of Railay Resort is quiet and calm, so it is perfect for a leisurely holiday. The beaches of the Phi Phi resort, on the other hand, are very unusual and interesting. Often people vacationing on Karon Beach in Phuket in Thailand visit the beach areas of Phi Phi with excursions. The peculiarity of these beaches lies in their unique landscape with sheer cliffs and picturesque coves.

On the island of Phuket, there are the most visited and popular beaches in Thailand. And this is not surprising, given the popularity of the resort itself. The island has several unforgettable and popular beach areas:

  • Patong Beach;
  • Karon Beach;
  • Kata Beach;
  • Bang Tao Beach.

Patong Beach in Thailand is considered the most crowded. It has a wide coastline and a wide variety of entertainment options. This place is perfect for those who like a noisy and cheerful holiday, as there are many disco bars, cafes and shops along the beach. The exact opposite of Patong Beach is Bang Tao Beach. This is a very calm and quiet place where there is no a large number shops and cafes. That is why this beach area is perfect for a calm and peaceful holiday. A fairly popular destination among tourists is Kata Beach in Thailand. Unlike Patong Beach, it is not so noisy and crowded here, but still this place cannot be called deserted either. Karon Beach in Thailand on Phuket Island is also quite popular with tourists. It is not crowded and very beautiful, but its disadvantage is the presence of jellyfish in coastal waters.

Koh Samet is famous for its tropical and green beaches. The main beaches of the resort have white sand and always warm water. On the beaches you can find cozy bars and restaurants, but lovers of a noisy holiday should still give preference to Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand. Koh Samet is also famous for its wild beaches, which are located in the southern part of the resort.

Unique and truly unforgettable beaches are located on Koh Chang. There you can find a wide variety of beaches with a special atmosphere, especially for the wild and deserted beach areas that are loved by both tourists and the local population. The most popular beach in the resort is White Sand, but despite its popularity, it is not at all like Kata Beach in Phuket in Thailand. On the contrary, Wide Sand looks more like a pristine and deserted beach.

Among the most popular places Thailand, undoubtedly, can be attributed to the beaches of Koh Samui. The local beaches successfully combine a calm beach, extreme and active rest. On the beaches of Koh Samui in Thailand, everyone will find something to their liking, in addition to warm sea and clean sand, the resort offers its visitors a variety of extreme and water activities. The island's evening life is also quite eventful. Lamai is considered the most popular beach in the resort, so it is always fun and crowded.

Regardless of the chosen place, Thailand will give every traveler a truly paradise vacation... This exotic corner of the earth will not leave anyone indifferent, and each person will be able to provide a long-awaited vacation.
